Hey Glue Crew! How ya doin'? Thanks for taking on the team and setting up the thread, joyfulnana. Keep your eye on the GS board for pop up crops this weekend. mom hosted one today and is thinking of hosting Sunday &/or Monday. Don't forget we can earn 10 points per hour for sitting in our craftrooms staring at our supplies --er per hour of crafting LOL. And DOUBLE that, or 20 points for an hour spent crafting with friends. And on line crops count!

Hi there! I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the point opportunities! I need a spreadsheet! lol It should be easier once the challenge list is finalized. You just need to print it off and check each challenge you meet. Once a challenge is checked for this month, you don't count it again until next month.
First there is the flat rate per page or card.
SKETCHtember points are pretty much a flat 5 (no twist) or 8 (with twist), and you will need to keep track of how many you complete for a chance at the bonus.
Donna Challenge is a flat 10 if you meet the theme, but then there are the number of photos you scrap (one point for every photo you scrap on any project). I add those points on each time I calculate the score for a LO or card.
The thing that gets away on me is the points per hour. I try to keep a notepad somewhere I can see it, and log in how much time I spend crafting.

Yay Chinagirl828! I've had the same mojo-less summer here. I'm ready to finally MAKE something this month! wendy crowe this gets easier once all of the challenges are set. I like to print the list, take a look at the challenges and choose the ones I want to meet, for each LO or project, etc. I keep track of everything on the list I printed. Anyone doing anything crafty today? I people here today so no crafting for me, beyond taking a picture of my LO for the sketch I posted.

I’m hoping to have some time tomorrow! I went to the Expo a couple of weekends ago and may have placed too many random orders online since. So I definitely have a ton of new goodies to play with.

I love how excited everyone is! I am excited too. September feels like the beginning of a new year for me, even more than January sometimes, I think. That new school year habit never dies lol. My weekend, there was not the crafting time I had hoped for. But time spent with family is never the wrong way to spend time. Don't forget to set some challenges if you haven't yet. we have a few more days.

Things keep popping up on my days that I plan to scrap! I had to do some grocery shopping and meal planning last night. Tonight I have to take my son shopping for something to wear for homecoming, which is this Saturday. Luckily, I have some time at work to plan out some pages but I want to sit and scrap!

I'm sneaking in little bits of crafting on the days I'm working from home. While I waited for a report to run I pulled out some alpha choices, then when I walked past my scrappy desk later in the day I decided which ones I wanted to use. Then in the couple of mins I had before my next meeting started I stuck the title on. This weekend is supposed to be much cooler than the last few days so I'm planning to spend some time creating and catching up on sketches.

I sneak in a thing or two as I pass my desk. Hoping by the end of the day, I have a complete page. With work and other stuff, sometimes it will be a few days to complete a page. But I'll take it!

I work from home and have never really taken advantage of little moments like that to get some scrapping done. I'm the worst WFH person, as far as taking advantage of it. I pretty much stay at my desk, like I would if I were in the office lol. But I need to get going on another sketchtember sample, so maybe I'll try this today

joyfulnana , I tell my daughter, when she is feeling guilty about taking a minute out of her WFH day to throw in load of laundry or pull some meat out of the freezer for supper, to remember all the little distractions that happen at work if she were actually in the office: those little impromptu conversations and walking from office to coffee room or to that meeting. When all your work is happening from your office chair, I can give you permission to take a minute here or there to cast your eyes over at your scrap desk... So far I have completed 4 out of 8 possible SKETCHtember challenges, but two of those were my own. Loving all the sketches but not focused enough to play with them. I am compiling a Word document with all the sketches and twists. If anyone wants a copy, please pm me your email address and I can send it to you. I will be updating it as new challenges drop into the board. Any time I send it to you it would be updated to that point. And I could send it again later if you remind me.

I pretty much stay at my desk, like I would if I were in the office lol. I literally walk past my scrap desk to get out the door of my office so it's pretty easy to look over and think "definitely the large alpha" as I walk past. And this is why I no longer feel guilty about doing it. I was in the office earlier this week and spent less than 2 hours working out of my entire day. The rest was spent talking to people and not actually getting anything done.

I have yet to touch my crafty things! End of fair, back to school and the start up of all the other things has got me in a chaotic cycle of non stop on the go! I do hope for this weekend but my housework has taken a back seat too so I feel like I’ll be spending my weekend doing that instead. And next week isn’t more busy. It was so much more simple when all my kids were little and went to bed when I told them and didn’t have so many activities . Now I have so much to document but no time to do it! I think I’ll at least bring my laptop to DSs musical practices so I can edit the pictures then.

WFH is supposedly a perk, so I really need to take advantage of it. My craft space shares the office, it wouldn't be hard

We have Q4 spreadsheet that will tally all your points for you available, courtesy of gramma! wendy crowe you mentioned needing one lol. It's stickied at the top of the board. I hope everyone is having a good weekend, and having some time to be crafty. I finished one more stripe on the blanket I'm knitting. One more to go. Lots of crafting while I watch/listen to NFL football games today.

Anyone playing with paper today? I want to pull out supplies to take on the last couple of challenges, which in my mind might go together into one two page LO. Of course my mind has been known to see things that don't exist LOL. not sure how far I will get, but if I have the things out on my scrap counter they are more likely to get put together in a LO. Right now I have TE Cool Crew dies out on my counter for a crafty project dgs was trying yesterday and they are waving to me, trying to distract me enough to open my Christmas cabinet. I am resisting... But barely...

Wahoo! I did get to scrap bit yesterday and got one page mostly done. I may take some time tonight too since it’s raining here all day which cancels our groups corn maze get together. Though I do I have some work to get done if a co-leader gets their part completed so we’ll see.
Question: for those who do dies, do you also have a cutting machine like cricut? I always see people mentioning dues, when I used back in the day when sizzix and the big red machine were about it. But now I have a cricut and find it difficult to justify getting a die cutting machine (and the cost of the dies!) too. I do like the idea and ease of some of the simple dies though!

I pushed some paper around this weekend, but the scrappy mojo has not really been there, and I've been doing a lot more knitting. boymom5 I have a cricut and a manual die cutter too. Now I have a hard time justifying buying stickers/thickers and other embellishments lol. I like having both machines. I got a manual cutter for the same reason you are thinking of - it is easier sometimes to run a die very quickly and keep going, over the time it takes me to cut something with the cricut. SB.com runs pretty good sales on their brand of dies. Of course if I used the cricut more often it may not feel like such a chore lol. Is anyone attempting to complete all of the sketches this month? I know I won't get to all of them -it's already the middle of the month, and wow that came fast! grammadee once all of the sketches and twists have been posted, I'll take that list you are compiling, and will send you a PM. Did the dies win? Did you open the Christmas cabinet? LOL

Did the dies win? Did you open the Christmas cabinet? LOL I kicked those snowmen out of my craftroom! Set the tray with dies on an end table in the living room, waiting for dgs to come back and play with them. They already made me order skating bears stamps and dies, and email my LSS to set aside a Spellbinders dancin penguin set... Add up points this morning. PSA: if you are crafting, take some time to jot down your time and what you created. And plan to add the points on a regular basis. Speaking of points, you can earn DOUBLE the hourly rate for crafting if you join me tomorrow morning/mid day for an on line crop. The link will be posted in the crop thread when the crop opens at 9:30 MDT Wednesday.

Like joyfulnana I find it easier to just run a quick die through it rather than move to my computer, find the right file, resize it, and cut it out. There are also times I prefer the finished edge on a die cut, stitched cirlces come to mind as an obvious example. I also like being able to cut things like felt in my big shot.

Is anyone attempting to complete all of the sketches this month? I try to get them all done but most years it takes me well beyond sketchtember to actually finish them all, I still have one sketch from last year to complete although I have a photo and pp chosen for it. I have done more already this year than I thought I might and I expect I'll get a few more done before Sept is finished.

This is where I’m torn! Maybe it’ll go on my wish list cause I don’t use my cricut as much as I used to cause I’m just plain lazy about it!
