Good Morning team! Anyone have scrappy plans for the day? I'll have a day of NFL football, laundry and scrapping while the games are on in the background. I seem to have slowed my shopping roll, but I'm looking forward to the BF sales. I really need to be in the freezer, but as soon as I do, I want allll the things lol. jeremysgirl, good luck with your job hunting, I hope going back in the office will let you have some separation from WFH and your craft space. I dabble with knitting, and have yarn stuffed in closets everywhere and it feels like a lot sometimes. But my scrap supplies definitely take the majority of the space.

A question for you all - are you happy with your craft space/workflow, or are there things that you would like to tweak or rearrange to make it work better for you? My biggest problem now is I have too much paper for the space I have to store it in so I have piles on my desk and a couple of Iris containers stacked under my work desk, and it kind of drives me nuts. I'm on the hunt for a set of drawers to go under my work desk (it's standing height and just has one narrow row of drawers directly below the desktop so plenty of space to fit a set of drawers under that). Then I can corral the random pile of stuff I have there and clean the overflow of stuff off my scrapping desk. I'm pretty happy with everything else, most things are in drawers on top of my scrappy desk or in a set of old tool drawers next to it, so I can reach most of my stash from my chair. Despite an overabundance (to me) of paper my stash is pretty small in comparison to many peas.

Anyone have scrappy plans for the day? I actually feel like tackling the sketchy Saturday sketch I posted last weekend, so I've just printed out some photos and will see how the creating goes.

Happy Monday to the Glue Crew! Hope everyone has a great week! My first chore will be to unload all the scrap crap I hauled to the LSS in person crop. As usual, I took way too much stuff, but it kept my options open--which I really need to help me feel creative. Came home with ten pages and 41 cards. Will share this week as I get them photographed. Oh, and 22 crafting hours with friends plus about 6 on my own, so lots of "by the hour" points for me... Anyone else craft this past weekend? joyfulnana, I saw your cute two pager in the Gallery. Chinagirl828, did you get your Sketchy sample done?

Its about 3/4 done. I need to type up some journaling, add the final embellishment, and then it will be finished. Given I haven't scrapped in a little while I'm really happy with how it's coming along.

Good morning! I was not able to join the crops this weekend. I didn't get my dining room table cleaned off and my Halloween decorations put away until yesterday. Good news is that my cleaning lady came yesterday so now that everything is put away, my entire house is now clean.
Yesterday, I printed off all my journaling blocks for October Daily. And then I spent last night printing all the pictures. I'm pretty excited to get started with that project. It really helps to keep up with the journaling throughout the month. I'm such a simple scrapper that really I can generally put together my DD album in the 4 days I end up having off for new year. So this should be able to be done without much issue.
I'm also lucky as I have Friday off work this weekend for Veteran's Day, so 3 day weekend for me.

Hey team how's it going? I heard yesterday we only have 46 days until Christmas? That's so fast! lol. I had been toying with the idea of making my cards, but I think I'll keep things simple and send store bought. I'm not really a card maker so it takes me a long time to get them finished. It's almost the weekend again already, any scrappy plans? I'm pretty sure there will be another crop Friday night, starting at 7-ish EST if anyone wants to join in. My Friday evenings tend to be a lot of vegging in front of the TV, I'm hoping Friday crops will help me be more productive. I'm cropping online Saturday with my mom and two of my nieces, and then I'll have DGS Saturday night and probably for dad's band practice on Sunday. So it will be a packed weekend for me, but I'm looking forward to it. jeremysgirl enjoy your 3 day weekend, and yay! for getting your Oct album ready to put together! I don't keep up with daily projects like that, but I admire those who do. I'm not planning to do a December album this year, although I will watch Shimelle's JYC videos. I think a couple of 12x12 two pagers will be plenty this year. For some reason I'm really drawn to getting the most out of my cricut and making embellishments, so that may be what I work on this weekend. Just playing, no end game, just play. My biggest problem now is I have too much paper for the space I have to store it in so I have piles on my desk and a couple of Iris containers stacked under my work desk, and it kind of drives me nuts. This. The piles, and my paper is completely out of control. Scrapbooking is such a messy hobby lol. But I love it, it's still my favorite Even if my stash is driving me nuts right now.

It's almost the weekend again already, any scrappy plans? Weekend scrappy plans? justjac and my niece plan to be here Saturday to put together some Christmas cards from Photo Play kits. I need to get busy and put away all the stuff I hauled to last weekend's crop. But you know how it is when you remove something from its packaging and then try to repack and replace it in the box it came in? Well my supplies are acting like that, so having trouble getting them back into the places I extracted them from last week to pack for the crop...

The year is certainly flying by. I work in an industry that sees a peak at Christmas so work is only going to get busier for me. I'm enjoying the last couple of days of a week off, although I've mostly been working on house related projects. I've printed my Oct photos and got them into the right places in my albums and hope to get Aug and Sept printed in the next couple of days.

I hope you'll get some scrappy time in.

I hope you'll get some scrappy time in. I managed to get Aug printed but Sept is still to be done. I'm back at work this morning (currently running a couple of reports and waiting for my emails to update with everything from the last week), but I'm happy I at least got a little something done.

I finished my October Daily yesterday!!! Lots of points for my team. Once the sun comes up I'll get photos. Ooooh! Can't wait to see those pic's!
I am almost finished my Christmas cards. I think I have the number I need, but as I *s-l-o-w-l-y* clear off my counters, I keep finding cute things I haven't used at all along with the bits & pieces left over from the cards I made. So as I go, I am putting together a few extra cards just for fun. Some things I am putting into bags as mini card kits for my dgs. Good thing there is no limit on how many hours I can waste use in here "crafting" @10 points per hour...
Busy weekend ahead, even though in Canada our Thanksgiving festivities are well in our past. Attending dinner theatre on Friday evening, a couple of craft fairs I want to hit on Saturday, and I think dd and dgs plan to come over to put up our Christmas tree. Hoping that at the craft fairs I can pick up the last gifts I need to purchase so that after that I can start wrapping and mailing gifts, addressing and sending cards.

Ooooh! Can't wait to see those pic's! There are links to my instagram on the October Daily thread if you want to see. It was my first time doing October Daily. Halloween is my favorite holiday and Esther's birthday is October 30th. I had such a rough time last year, I decided this year to fill my calendar with fun things to balance out some of my feelings this month. So the scrapbook seemed like a logical end.

Happy Thanksgiving to the US peas! I hope the international peas have a wonderful rest of the week! jeremysgirl, I hope documenting October held a little more joy for you, I can't imagine how hard it must be. Yay to lots of points! grammadee enjoy your busy weekend, it sounds wonderful with lots of memory making! It all sounds fun, especially the craft fair lol. I'm about halfway finished with my cards. I'm using card kits from Photoplay and have another one from Simple Stories coming to me soon lol. My weekend will be fairly busy as well, I'm having the kids here for dinner (dinner that I've got to run to the grocery store to pick up and reheat lol). Shopping for Christmas decor tomorrow and then hopefully depending on schedules have everyone here again Saturday afternoon to help trim the tree. Has anyone shopped the sales? I've got a couple of things on the way from sb.com and waiting on the Elle's Studio sale and then I should probably hop into the freezer. I should, but I doubt I do lol.

Has anyone shopped the sales? I have not, but it doesn't mean I'm not filling carts and waiting for a couple of other sales to go live. I feel a little guilty buying supplies when I haven't been making things so we shall see if I actually hit buy on any of these carts.

It's so much easier to shop when I'm not feeling creative. I'm waiting on a couple of sales, then I'm done for awhile. I've had a cart at ACOT that I've been messing with so long that now I'm kind of over the things in it lol.

Good morning team! It's crazy how fast time goes lately. My tree and trimmings are partially up. I have to wait for DGS to finish the tree, he has insisted I not finish without him lol. And after being frozen the last couple of years during black friday I went a little crazy shopping all the sales this years and now have lots of new stash coming to play with. And no time to play For those who do DD or JYC do you work on that as the month goes or do you wait until after Christmas to put your album together? I feel like I've been a real scrooge the last few years, and had to remind myself that this is exactly how JYC started, so while I'm not doing a December album, I'm taking a page out of Shimelle's book and want to just enjoy the season and stop stressing over every little thing. Like my tree only being half up LOL. I've seen a couple of threads about things that bug you, or things you don't like about the hobby, but what is exciting you about scrapping? What keeps you coming back to it?

I’ve been reading along but never having the time to chime in! It’s been a. Combo of busy but a sprinkling of crafty time for me here. I am chipping away on the school album I want to complete before the end of the year and it may be finished by then! I’ve also been working some on my 2023 album and prepping DD stuff.
Overall I’m happy with my craft space. I need to tidy it a bit more and that room becomes a catch all for things like packages, kids projects, random other things….so I’m hoping to get those things cleaned up and organized.
What’s exciting for me? It’s two fold. One I love the creative time! And second I love the memories I preserve and so does my family. That’s really what makes it worth it.

I only made two Black Friday orders, one was for stamps from Kerri Bradford. I'd been sitting on them for over a month in hopes of a sale so I have no regrets. The other was my local online lss who closed down about a month ago reopened her store for the weekend with some additional deals so I placed another order including some of the SS Boho Christmas which I'm using in my Dec album this year. For those who do DD or JYC do you work on that as the month goes or do you wait until after Christmas to put your album together? I mostly do mine during the month. I take a couple of nights to work on it, and if I can get some over a weekend I'll do that too. Then the gap between Christmas and New Year, once everyone has gone back home and my house is once again quiet, is the perfect time to make some real progress. I usually finish the album in the first week of Jan but I take notes every day during Dec if I can which makes it much easier to pull it together.

It is fun playing with papers and photos and page design. But the best part is reliving the memories as I build the page and watching family enjoy leafing through the album later, stopping to smile or share their own memory of that day. My cards are made, except for December birthdays which need to be finished today. Won't have much scrappy time until after Christmas, but when I do I can concentrate on making pages again. Yay! I don't do DD, but did manage to take at least one photo on each day so far... Plus some in November of tree decorating, cookie baking, and wrapped packages, that could work as bases for DD pages. But the month is young...

I've seen a couple of threads about things that bug you, or things you don't like about the hobby, but what is exciting you about scrapping? What keeps you coming back to it? Honestly, it is the preserving of the memories for me. I didn't really realize just how much I appreciated what I have done all these years until I lost my child. I know it's sad, but honestly, I feel like as long as I have those albums, a tidal wave could wipe out every possession I have and I'd be fine. My albums mean everything to me.

((((Hugs jeremysgirl ))) I can't imagine what a comfort it must be to have those memories documented. Chinagirl828 leaving things in a cart waiting for a sale has never worked out for me. It will always be out of stock when the sale finally comes. So instead of taking that as a sign I didn't need that thing, I use that as justification to buy it when I see it For me, the creativity, and the photos are what keeps me. Especially the photos. A quick look through my photos always sparks stories I really want to tell. The pretty supplies don't hurt either, I do love my paper lol. I'm not doing a DD, but I would like to get December in the books before the new year. I forget to keep up with note taking, so I've learned a daily type of documenting isn't going to work for me lol. I can't believe 2023 is coming to a close. It's gone crazy fast for me.

joyfulnana the only way DD works for me is to type the journaling every day. Each day I pull up my ongoing word document and type my journaling. I format while I'm typing. So it's either 3x4 or 4x6 or 3x8. And I take my pics. Usually during the time off I have for New years, I print all my pics and print my journaling. And then I tend to be a simple scrapper too. So I usually have no problem getting it all done on my little holiday break. I also am good about keeping my supplies to a minimum when I scrapbook. I gather my collection of things I want to use and that's it. But I don't ever go hunting for every little thing. I use a kit and that is it.

I don't have a good habit of making notes about the day which is where I get derailed, after I few days I fall off, then I just forget and have lots of photos but not much else. I do enjoy seeing what everyone has done. I should jump in today with JYC and just see what happens.
I cant believe it's almost the end of the year and the quarter! It will be point collection time before we know it and I need to get Oct and Nov tallied.
Not much scrapping or making going on here, except for baking. This time of year is so busy and I'm always so relieved when the new year gets here.

Quite proud of myself that I have at least one photo per day so far this month. Hoping that the dates provided by my phone will help put them in order once I sit down to scrap them. Thinking of doing this over a few 12x12 spreads with one photo per day, maybe one, two, three or four per page? Okay. I have made no real plans at all. But I HAVE snapped the photos! (well, so far...)

I don't feel like that really. I feel like the fact that I type out my journaling each takes me 5 minutes and then I just click print at the end of the month and I'm able to scrap it all in like 2 days. I feel like it doesn't feel overwhelming that way. And I don't feel compelled to scrapbook all the through the month of December when I'm super busy just trying to enjoy the holidays.
