Oh dear. Mea Culpa. gar and MichyM I’ve interacted and “liked” the photos taken by the OP. Because I really, for the most part, stay out of the political threads (such as this one), I truly had no idea of her political stance. I have been a member of this board for almost 24 years. During that time, I have tried to extend kindness and grace to all members, even though I know I fail miserably at times. In the original version of the 2 Peas photography board, I was a relatively active participant. I miss it. When Refugee Peas post pictures, I one of the many that respond. I was not aware of the political stance of the OP. Frankly, I don’t keep a spreadsheet, so except for the vocal few, I only know the political affiliation of a small number of our members. Sometimes liking a picture is just that, liking a picture. I think she's calling out GAJenny's comments about the horrible, "joyless," left-leaning peas vs. her willingness to accept our positive comments on her photos. I've liked and commented on her photo threads, too. I hadn't forgotten her previous political posts at all. But generally I will positively interact with peas whose politics differ from mine on threads that are for lifting others up in some way, because I'm a member of this board first and a political pea second. I am least patient on political threads with those who come here to fight and never or very rarely contribute anything positive, funny, or supportive to the board. Just personal preference. I don't like that.Said the one who came into my non-political "positive" "uplifting" thread, for the sole purpose of shitting on it by making it political and starting a fight about it. Honestly this gets sadder and sadder the longer it goes on. These minute things about Joe Biden morecowbell has to cling to in order to justify in her own head a vote for Trump against him is so very sad. I feel for the turmoil she must be living in. She can't possibly defend Trump, so she needs to pick apart Biden little piece by little piece as though he would need to be a perfect human in order for her to fully accept that he's just flat out a more decent human and clearly the better choice in a Biden/Trump match up.
Watching this interaction on this board makes me feel a bit of empathy for the ones who are not able to really swallow how indecent Trump is but will vote for him anyway because they feel so committed to the Republican party that they will cling to the slightest flub, show of human fallibility that Joe Biden shows. It's sad really. Because if they themselves have any bit of decency, they know Trump's a mess of a human being.
I don't have any idea how we as a society overcome this mentality. Because morecowbell proves every single day here that nothing is penetrating their consciousness.

If one doesn’t like the way a thread is going one has the option to ignore it. I mean there is not some mystical force that is making one open and read the thread.
But what we have here are busybodies who feel it’s their duty to come on a thread and dictate to other folks how they should respond or who they
should or shouldn’t respond to instead of just ignoring the thread if there is something about it they don’t like.
It’s really simple to ignore the thread one feels isn’t going the way they feel it should, but these busybodies just can’t seem to help themselves. Try.
And please quit calling her a cow. That’s just plain rude. It’s childish and uncalled for.

How is she being argumentative? The statement was made that no other democrats are running and she merely pointed out that there are 2 others. You don’t have to take them seriously, you can think whatever you want about them, they may or may not show upon the ballot but they are running as democrats and there’s nothing argumentative about that. You’re both arguing technicalities. Yes, they’re technically candidates. But no one takes them seriously. Have you heard of Ryan Binkley or Perry Johnson and do you consider them serious candidates? Those 2 are probably more serious candidates than Williamson and Kennedy. And look at that. Kennedy dropped out of the Democratic primary and will run as an Independent. I have always thought that about jeremysgirl I've always thought very highly of her. We've had some good discussions where we didn't agree, but could discuss with respect for each other. That has recently changed on her part. In addition to one other instance that I was willing to let go of, she lost my confidence in her honesty when she not only said that I said something I never said, or insinuated in any way, but doubled down on it and also continued with that by then mocking me for objecting to her lie. |
