Below is a headline. This has been mentioned more than once. But can you imagine living in an America where the military would/could be used against its own citizens? ”Trump hints at expanded role for the military within the US” Typical of you to post something with no content just to stir the pot. The article this headline came from is here link along with this link that explains the Insurrection Act that’s been around since 1792 and how it give's the president power to use the military domestically. Just another antiquated act on the books that Congress should be taking a look at and making necessary reforms to.

Gosh I seem to remember Hillary Clinton sitting through an 11 hour hearing that was public. And if I’m not mistaken it was a public hearing because that is what she wanted. The hearing was in the House. Manu Raju…. ”House GOP rejects Hunter Biden’s request to only testify publicly. Comer: “Hunter Biden is trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else. That won’t stand with House Republicans.” cnn.com/2023/11/28/pol…” A couple of random responses… ”Hunter Biden's team turning out to be more astute than expected Pretty good bluff calling when you volunteer to testify publicly and the investigators only want it to be secret so they can lie and distort what you say” & ”Comer and Jordan prefer to be behind closed doors — for a variety of reasons They want their narrative and not the truth.” Let me repeat this one because it is so true… ”Comer and Jordan prefer to be behind closed doors — for a variety of reasons They want their narrative and not the truth.” x.com/mkraju/status/1729529929153339393?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Paul Waldman for MSNBC… ”The "mystery" of Americans saying the economy is absolutely terrible isn't really a mystery. It's REPUBLICANS who tell pollsters that. It isn't the whole story of economic perceptions. But you can't tell the story without it. And before you say "But there are things that aren't as good as they should be!", yes there are. But Republicans tell pollsters they think the economy today is WORSE THAN IT WAS IN THE DEPTHS OF THE GREAT RECESSION. That's just bonkers.“ MSNBC Opinion piece.. “ Republicans’ views of the economy are completely detached from reality”Didn’t want to quote the whole thing, but did want to comment. I had the (dis)pleasure of having a conversation with my sister who lives in TN last week. She started out on some rant about Biden and the economy and I asked her what she was talking about. Up here in MN there are help wanted signs up EVERYWHERE and there have been for years now. If someone wanted a job they don’t need to look too hard or even try too hard to get hired somewhere. I commented that wages for even part time employees are way up compared to what they were. She said like what? I said even retail places like Target and fast food places like McDonalds are starting PT people at $15-17 an hour. I’m talking high school kids with NO experience anywhere. She replied, “You can’t support a family on that!” And I said I didn’t say you could. I said PT EMPLOYEES are getting that to START, FT people would obviously make more and experienced workers would make more. 🤪🙄 She went on to say, “Well down here the economy is crap and people are really struggling. Young people can’t buy a house. People can’t afford to live.” I had the hardest time biting my tongue and not saying, “I’m really not surprised based on some of the clowns you all have elected in your state.” But I knew it wouldn’t land well so I just didn’t. Then she continued on with her rant about how main stream media is lying to everyone about everything, how Covid vaccines don’t work, OMG on and on. I finally had to cut her off with a “Look at the time! Got to go!” Because it is all just completely nuts how totally brainwashed she has become since moving down there. The really ironic thing is that just 15-20 minutes earlier in the conversation before she said people can’t afford to buy a house, she said that she and BIL are expanding the smaller house they bought two years ago when they downsized. This was after they flipped the five bedroom house they bought cheap, remodeled and made a buttload of money on. This is the fourth house they’ve lived in since they moved there. The fourth house they bought dirt cheap, after buying cheap, renovating and flipping the previous three at a huge profit. But somehow that doesn’t factor into why people can’t find affordable housing where she lives. 🤪 The disconnect is real. Young people often can not afford to buy a house. However I can’t see how you could place any of the reasons why in Biden’s desk. Various reasons Corporate profits have outpaced salary increases. Housing cost increases have out paced salary increases. The main reasons for these are the SCOTUS rulings leading the bargaining strength of unions. The conservative SCOTUS which you can lay at Mitch mcConnell’s feet. It’s not like those nice corporate tax breaks actually trickled down to the workers. Sure, a few companies gave one time bonuses when it passed making sure that made the news, but long term salary increases did not happen. Next, particularly in TN, you have the corporate investors buying up single family homes paying premium prices and renting them out at high rents. I read somewhere that nearly 30% of homes in ‘middle Tennessee’ are investment firm owned. Not really sure how they define ‘middle Tennessee’ though, that wasn’t really further explained. This trend certainly predates Biden. It’s crazy. They target neighborhoods until they own a substantial amount of that neighborhood at which point they control the rental market for that neighborhood and can charge pretty much what they want. This strategy seems to be hitting a roadblock in 2023 in some areas though as the rents have far outpaced earnings so properties are sitting vacant. It’s crazy.

Same playbook as Cawthorn I mean, I’m not going to disagree that the stuff they said is happening is happening, but it’s way more believable when you say something when you see it rather than waiting until you are facing an ethics issue yourself. Oh yeah when I got to DC X, Y, & Z was happening but I kept my mouth shut for 2 years until I’m finally facing consequences of my own ethics violations sound very believable. 🤣

Oops ... Comers' sidekick on the Oversight Committee was happy to welcome Hunter Biden to testify... But... until.... Smith took his his comment!! It prompted Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) to kill his online comment quickly — but not before The Messenger's Stephen Neukam caught it. Smith, who sits with Comer on Oversight, posted: "I welcome Hunter Biden finally agreeing to testify. It's long overdue for him to come clean in front of the American people."But then he evidently saw Comer's attack on Biden, saying the meeting had to be behind closed doors. *** "Let me get this straight," Oversight Committee Ranking Member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) began in a statement. "After wailing and moaning for ten months about Hunter Biden and alluding to some vast unproven family conspiracy, after sending Hunter Biden a subpoena to appear and testify, Chairman Comer and the Oversight Republicans now reject his offer to appear before the full Committee and the eyes of the world and to answer any questions they pose? "What an epic humiliation for our colleagues and what a frank confession that they are simply not interested in the facts and have no confidence in their own case or the ability of their own Members to pursue it."www.rawstory.com/hunter-biden-hearing-public/

I don’t always agree with AOC but IMO she is spot on. The House Democrats have really outdone themselves in showing the Republicans in the House who they really are.
AOC…
”The reason GOP don’t want a public hearing on Hunter Biden is because @oversightdems have hoisted them by their own petards in every public hearing this year.
They’re scared of getting humiliated for not having an actual case (again), so they need to hide.
There’s your answer🕵🏽♀️”

Do I need help? I seem to agree with Sen Josh Hawley.. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said he disagrees with Rep. James Comer (R-KY) about whether Hunter Biden should testify publicly. In an interview with Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn, Hawley reacted to the news that Biden had offered his public testimony to Comer's Oversight Committee. For his part, Comer has rejected Biden's offer. Hawley disagreed. "I mean, if you do this stuff in private, what happens is there's inevitably bunches of leaks, and then it's, you know, well so-and-so said this and so-and-so said that. It's like, oh, just do it in public and let the public see," he said. "Let's open the doors so y'all can report on it." www.rawstory.com/comer-biden-2666379585/

Melania was present at the Rosalynn Carter funeral. I noticed the coat and decided not to bring it up . Viewers of former first lady Rosalynn Carter's memorial service Tuesday are comparing Melania Trump's outfit of light grey, rather than traditional funeral black, to the headline-making coat she donned when her husband was in the White House. "She might as well have 'I really don't care, do you?' on the back of that coat," said filmmaker and producer Andy Ostroy. Added national security expert Marcy Wheeler, "I'm glad Melania showed up, didn't wear her 'I really don't care do you' jacket, and showed that this is more important to her than any of her spouse's four criminal trials." *** "She just couldn't bring herself to wear black," agreed emergency room doctor, Andrea R. M.D. "You're not edgy Melania, you are the epitome of trash." *** Janet Johnson knocked CNN for "fawning over Melania Trump" attending the funeral, "and Trump managing to put out a statement where he did't call her a loser." While only a few presidents were in attendance, all of the first ladies came to celebrate Carter's life. Michelle Obama, Barbara Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton sat side-by-side in black. www.rawstory.com/melania-trump-osalynn-carter/

So Ted Cruz interrupts hearing to discuss investigate George Soros. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) veered off topic at a gun violence hearing on Tuesday to ask why the Senate committee was not investigating liberal billionaire George Soros. Cruz then called for hearings into Soros and Black Lives Matter. "You know what?" he asked. "We're not having a hearing on the impact of Soros prosecutors releasing violent criminals from jail. We're not having a hearing on carjacking in Washington, D.C., because the Democrat city council lowered the penalty for carjacking, lowered the penalty for murder." www.rawstory.com/ted-cruz-gun-violence-hearing/Interesting why don't the Democrats investigate Koch Bros Network, Leo Leonard, Harlan Crow, Publix Heiress, and assorted others bankrolling. Oh and Pillow Guy who is supposedly bankrupt.. *** And I'm all add another guy.. And they aren’t very good at it because it only takes a nano second to figure out they are being less than honest. Especially this guy. The reason Comer doesn’t want Hunter Biden to testify publicly is because then they can’t twist what he says which they could do if the hearing was private. But I have a problem that Republican members in the House feel he should testify at all. He is a private citizen. He is not an elected official or an ex elected official. He is not the president of some corporation. He is a private citizen and any potential wrong doing on his part should be investigated by the DOJ. This is nothing but a fishing expedition to try and get something on President Biden. The Republicans have admitted, at various time, they have nothing or what they think they have has been debunked. If Hunter Biden has committed any sort of crime, then he should be held accountable. But do it the right way through the DOJ. As it is, this is nothing but an abuse of power by the Republicans in the House.

They are just plain loons... Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA) accused Hunter Biden of "blocking" Rep. James Comer's (R-KY) impeachment investigation by offering to testify in public.During an interview on Newsmax, Cline suggested that the offer was a plot to stall the probe. "Well, this committee is trying to get the facts, get to the bottom of the corruption that was going on in the Biden family between Hunter Biden and the rest of the family and exactly follow the money to where it leads, and they're preparing a report to give to the Judiciary Committee," Kline explained. Last one for now on Hunter Biden... Hunter Biden's legal troubles have been highlighted recently, with Republicans seeking to push the president's son into testifying before the House Oversight Committee in private. But former Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA) says the data speaks for itself in Hunter's defense. Data. Chain of custody. Forensics," the former GOPer said on social media on Tuesday. "All of these work against the GOP in their investigation into Hunter Biden." He further explained: "Hunter Biden asked me and my team coming on to assist his lawyers with forensics and open source analysis. I warned him we would work hard and could upset the apple cart."
Hunter's response, Riggleman said, was telling.
"He said, 'I don’t care what you find. We must know the truth,'" Riggleman said. He added: "Hunter’s team can be confident." www.rawstory.com/hunter-s-team-can-be-confident-ex-goper-helping-president-s-son-on-forensics-speaks-out/
