Pantone Color of the year has been announced. Drum roll....it is Peach Fuzz. Personally not a big fan, but I'm sure some out there will like the color. I could see it paired with some of the darker, moody colors I've been seeing around. From their website:

I could see it paired with some of the darker, moody colors I've been seeing around. From their website: UGH - totally underwhelmed. The Pantone colour is always the popular wedding go to - and it has already been a year of blush & cream flowers - can we try another colour please? LOL

Behr paint has chosen Cracked Pepper. Rather dark and moody. This color sort of looks like a darker shade of one of the new In Colors introduced by Stampin' Up earlier this year called Pebbled Path. It's not really brown, but it's not really gray either. I guess that makes it either a Bray or a Grown. 🤣 It looks more brown in this photo than it actually stamps. It's quickly become one of my new favorite neutral ink colors.

Since I've really been enjoying knitting and crocheting recently, I finally decided to try my hand at a technique that's intrigued me for a few years, but one I had never actually tried. It's called "planned pooling" which is a method of manipulating variegated yarn in such as way as to create various patterns such a stripes, argyle, etc. After ripping things out and starting over about 15 times, the technique finally "clicked" in my head and I was able to get the argyle pattern to work. It's definitely not something I would want to do for a large project, but it's turning out kind of fun on this cowl I'm currently making using the technique.

Ugh on the Pantone colour. Perhaps we can pair it with forest green and bring back porch ducks dressed up for every season.

That technique is excellent CoffeeCrafter! You know what funny **GypsyGirl** my monthly kit was a mix of these fabrics. And I just thought it was super cute. I guess I'm ahead of the trends. Lol!

Peachy colours look nice in the monthly kit. I'm not keen on the Pantone shade. Great pooling CoffeeCrafter.

I've been participating in a mini stocking knitting challenge hosted by Jessica Ays from Double the Stitches over the past few days. We used her Tiny Treasures Mini Stocking pattern for the challenge which she provided for free to the challenge participants. It's normally available for $5 in her Ravelry store. If anyone is interested, I think you can still sign up for the challenge and get the pattern for free though. I have no affiliation with Jessica or her blog. I just love how this mini stocking turned out! I used worsted weight yarn and 4mm needles as called for in the pattern, but I think it's going to be too large for my slimline Christmas tree. I think I'm doing to try it again using smaller needles and a #1 or #2 weight yarn to size it down a bit for fit better on my tree.

Here's another knitting project I finished just before midnight last night. I stayed up later than I should have, but I was so close to a finish that I just didn't want to put it down. This particular hat pattern was the favorite of my dear friend Flo who lost her battle with cancer in 2020. I knit this one in her honor/memory. This was such a fun knit. I can see now why it was her favorite hat pattern. Pattern: Speargrass HatDesigner: Susie Gourlay of Knit Natural Yarn: Mandala Ombre by Lion Brand Yarn Color: Mantra Needles: 4.5mm circulars (magic loop. method) Pom Pom: 2½" created with my Clover pom pom maker Started: 4 Dec 2023 Finished: 10 Dec 2023

We are having a work retreat tomorrow. It includes a white elephant gift exchange. I hate those things. Especially with work people. You never know what people are going to bring. I whipped up a quick scarf to wrap up.

Like I need another crafty obsession...but I think I have one. LOL I have a memorial holiday event that I plan every year around this time, and it is Thursday night. I always have a program and try to do something pretty with it rather than it just being something printed on paper. This year, I had an idea to fold it over and use a wax seal on it. I bought a kit on Amazon, and I love how they are turning out! I'm working with the green right now, but some will have a red seal. They are turning out so pretty! You can't really tell from the photo, but the paper is a pearlescent card stock.

Just T I love anything with sealing wax. It takes me back to when I was a child and my grandmother was mailing items wrapped in brown paper and tied with string and red sealing wax. Lovely memories. I’d be interested to see your mandala too, dewryce. I’d never even been aware of them till last week when one popped up on my FB feed.

I still haven't used them LOL. BUT what I have done, is get a custom wax seal made from one of my branding marks for my business. It's a bit more time consuming, but I do them in chocolate, and put one at the back of my wedding cakes

I love seeing all your mad talent every month 💕💕💕 These are all the Christmas babies I’ve crocheted: And this is a pencil tree I put up this year just to hold all the ornaments I’ve crocheted. I’ve added many since the photo…I can’t seem to stop collecting ornament patterns and giving them a try.

Thanks for all the eye candy ladies!
I've been doing lots of elves with names. LOTS... like more than 75! I don't care if I see another elf for a very long time... BUT I'm sure I'll have a few last minute requests this year.
DH turned 50 last Tuesday and called me at work to let me know that he called 911 on himself because he had something weird happen (wasn't sure if it was a seizure or stroke) and wanted to get checked out. 48 hours in 2 different ER's (we were transferred) and the melanoma from his armpit has decided to take up residence in his brain. He has 3 "small" tumors. Tomorrow we are headed to get a CT scan and the hopefully he'll get a mega dose of radiation later this week which will kill it. Then follow up with immune therapy. Needless to say we've been a bit nuts here for the last week. My kids are home on Christmas break and I still have this week to go but will likely miss 2 of the 5 days because of DH's appts. I for sure have a sub tomorrow and I'm thinking probably Thursday or Friday to get the radiation done. So, yeah- thank you for the eye candy distraction! ❤️
