Good morning! It's a little sad for us today, ok a lot sad, because we had to say goodbye to our sweet dog Amelia. She was older and it was just the right time. When I was making this mishmash of leftovers blanket, she insisted on laying on it. So I just figured it was hers. Every time I posted a pic of her with that blanket people would ooh and ahh over it. And I was like, of all the projects I do, people prefer the dogs blanket! 😉 Let's kick off December!

Oh Amelia! I'm so sorry you had to leave your family. They will really miss you. Maybe one of your furry siblings will look after your blanket for you.

jeremysgirl I’m so sorry for your loss. Amelia looks so sweet, and I like the blanket as well! Even though it’s a scrap blanket, the yarn looks like it coordinates pretty well. I finished my second tree skirt for my big tree. So many of my projects just get packed up and put away or given away once complete, so it’s kinda nice to actually use/display something I’ve crocheted.

Yes, I agree, that blanket is gorgeous. Something about items made that way. They always turn out the best.

What a sweet girl. I’m so sorry. The blanket is beautiful. My mom made me one with scraps as kid and my siblings always fought me for it. It has some holes now and I don’t know how to fix them.
I am planning a surprise party for my husband tomorrow night but once that is done I will be working on some cards. I need some thank you and sadly a lot of sympathy cards. I am also going to be making some Christmas pillowcases for my kids and the kids of a young friend.

Aww I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to your sweet girl. If I made Murphy a blanket he would have it chewed to pieces in no time lol!

jeremysgirl - I am sorry to hear about Amelia. Well, I woke up to this: We’ve had a good 30cm (12 inches) of snow overnight and we are basically shut in. It’s too deep to walk in and we can’t get the car out. So I guess it’s a good thing I have lots of yarn to keep me warm and busy.

I love a thick snowfall as long as it disappears as quickly as it came!
I did nothing crafty at all in November. I’ve a tax return that’s taking priority just now but maybe there will be a window of opportunity soon.

malibou - it is quite calm out there, as it is difficult to drive and the snowplows are fighting a losing battle. We've been told to stay home as much as possible and not drive unless essential. They have already cancelled our football game that was supposed to happen this afternoon, due to road conditions and public transport not being able to run in all lines. gillyp - I don't think this is going away anytime soon. We are expecting another 20-30cm in the next 24 hours and temperatures are not expected to be positive until Tuesday!

sueg, so tranquil, snow is great if you don't have to out in it! We are cold but no snow. The BBC showed a football game between York and Wigan last night. 90 minutes of freezing fog and the home crowd chanting "we can't see the ball" On the crafting side I finished my summer breeze quilt, my quilting skills are basic as my machine has a small throat and the quilt is 72" square. So I stuck to a cross hatch design. I'm considering a bigger machine as I feel restricted by my current one. And I really want to experiment more. Currently, bought a few fabric panels that my kid liked and am adding material to make a double sided duvet cover, will have two smaller panels over to make a pillowcase/cushion.

sueg, another 20-30cm. Wow, that's a heck of a storm. Two feet of snow in the country is a very different animal than 2 feet of snow in a large city. I'm sure the snowplow drivers are ready to gnaw their own ears off trying to get ahead of the next snow dump. I hope you are working on cozy sweaters to keep the chill at bay.

Wow sueg I love it. I love the first real snowfall, however, I always have the luxury of staying home when that hits. I don't like to drive in it but I absolutely love to go outside and walk in it. Breathe in the air. When the temperature gets hot I feel like I cannot breathe, the winter time always make my nose feel clear. We are going with some friends to Grand Rapids today for their Christkindl market. I'm sure it's not as grand as your markets sueg but I thought this would be fun to check out. I'm a total goof. I'm trying to get there today in time for a picture with Santa. Yes, I'm a 48 year old woman who wants a pic with Santa. 😂

@jeremygirl - I just wanted to say I am so sorry about Amelia. Sometimes doing the right & kind thing is also the hardest thing to do. She was a beautiful pup and had the most soulful eyes. Hugs to you and Jeremy as you adjust to life without her here physically. (((hugs))) sueg - Your snow is gorgeous! It also looks like the kind of day I would be staying home and crafting. I'm in a funk with my sewing and quilting. So many projects that I want to do but just can't seem to get motivated. I've hand stitched the binding on one side of the latest quilt and can't seem to get the other 3 sides done, even though it's been on the ottoman right in front of my chair for nearly 2 weeks. I need to snap out of it and at least get a couple of small zipper bags done that are Christmas gifts. Hopefully I'll have things to post soon.

I finished my giant crochet granny square, I love it, it's so nice and cosy to sit under. I've started to knit a blanket with the leftover yarn, I've never knitted a blanket before so I'm hoping I can finish it. It'll be a long term project I think.
Unusually for me I have the blanket and some socks on the go.

jeremysgirl big warm hugs on the loss of Amelia. She looks so snuggly in that blanket she claimed! Here we are the first weekend of December... have I started on my Christmas books for the grandparents? Um, no. I have ZERO motivation to do this! I need to find it. Only another 11 years for my DS and 6 years for my DD. I can do it. I've been taking orders for shirts and wood stuff for Christmas. I went to order some white heat transfer vinyl and found out that my favorite type is being discontinued. The site I get it from doesn't have any. They've transitioned over to a new type from the same manufacturer. Le sigh. I hate mixing vinyl types in my stash so I'll have to give this new type its own category until I use up all the old stuff I have from the other type. A minor annoyance in life.

Ok you guys. Tell me it's going to look ok once I put the border on. This is my first heart and the diagonals got me all screwed up. My first quilt with triangles. This is the part where you tell me it's handcrafted and part of the charm is imperfect. Give it to me!

This is the part where you tell me it's handcrafted and part of the charm is imperfect. Give it to me! Not bad for a first effort! Triangles are tricky. Which method did you use? All it needs is a good press (I swear by the Magic Quilting/Craft spray) and trim up the block. Cute fabric!
