Well my February is off to a crappy start.
Ds got hurt at school and the staff couldn't tell me what happened.
Anyways he ended up with a ligament tear and fracture of his tibia 🥺
So I won't be very active for several weeks except weekends.
He is currently in a boot due to swelling. In 2 weeks they repeat x rays and then will decide if he stays in boot or goes into a regular cast.
Only good thing is the location rarely requires surgery for the tear.
And yes I am pea livid.

Wow, pantsonfire that seems like a pretty big injury for no one to know what happened! 2020 was the longest year ever and man it just flies by in a blur since. I can't believe it's February already. I don't have a lot of points to tally for January, Feb is already looking better and I want to play along as much as possible with 29-4-29

January is over. It's just so gray and blah here, without much going on. I'm trying to find a balance between doing things so I can scrap about them, and not wanting to go do stuff, because I'll take photos, and then I'll have to scrap about them Today is a doing things day, I'm going to a family reunion... there will be photos to eventually scrap.

I hardly take any good photos at this time of year. I don't understand how the light can be so sad and dull and yet outdoor photos end up with so much glare... We've been lucky with the weather mostly hitting north or south of us, we actually have some weak sunshine this weekend! I usually find that Jan and Feb are lacking in my year end book, but that's OK since other months are full of photos. If all I do is make cards and crochet and read that's actually good with me. Have fun at the reunion! Lots of photos to scrap, I imagine.

Super stressful anxiety ridden week. DS18 has fallen off the wagon of being clean for over a year. WE caught him and reported it to the school as all of the nicotine and THC vape is COMING FROM THE SCHOOL, just like in Oregon. With FASD he just doesn't learn from his past mistakes. School is not understanding at all in regards to sports . . . long story. Plus the SS determination of disability is moving sooooooooooo slooooooooowly, I've been told it may take up to two years. Made some progress on his County assessment, but there seems to be missing form from the state I did not receive. Two days in a row called and left messages with the state. Nothing is EVER easy with federal, state, county systems. Oregon was actually easier, but now DS is an adult so not so much now. Oh and he agreed for us to be his guardians, so we have to work with an attorney to get that completed. More paperwork.
Last weekend we did have someone bidding on the home in Oregon, then they declined the last counter offer. There home isn't even on the market so their timing is off. This weekend we are also in the middle of offer/counter offer. But realtor isn't sure the buyer has the $$$ in gold. This process is so arduous.
I am better this afternoon after a really excellent time at church, then some solid crafting time while DH and DS24, DS18 went to the shop to work on the build out.
I am working ahead on my DT samples for Retro Rubber Challenge Blog. That way when push comes to shove when we do sell the house I will have my stuff done and blog posts written. Today's two cards came together quickly. Earlier in the year I was really struggling with my mojo. I am a few months closer to having the rest of my supplies here!
At least the business taxes are done, now to work on the personal side. It's a very complicated tax year, buying a home, selling the cabin, moving, etc, etc. Yikes!
Hope everyone is doing well!

pantsonfire Wow! So sorry to hear about your son. That's frustrating that no one knows what caused such an injury. angel97701 I'm so sorry about your son as well. I can't imagine how difficult that is for you all. I got a weekend away and had a nice time to myself rejuvenating. It was a much needed break as things have been rough (Anyone with ND kids will understand!) and I wish it could have lasted. I did a bit of crafting while I was gone and learned how to crochet (made a Wooble).I got 17 pages done too which is just a dent in my 2023 things I need to complete, but it's progress! I've been good about keeping track of my points so far! And making progress on those extra challenges this month!

Sorry gals. I’ve been absent and I’m probably going to stay that way. Life is just so crazy and when it’s not, I have no motivation to scrap. Mentally I’m just drained. And I’m really embarrassed that I signed myself up for something I know I can’t fulfill. I’m sorry.

Don't feel bad @julie5, it happens to all of us! My job is mentally draining and I relate to that lack of motivation. angel97701 I'm sorry to hear about DS. Addiction is so hard, for the addict and for ones that love them. I hope things look up for you soon. How is DS 1 doing? I haven't really gotten much done this quarter, just lots of dreaming about it. Wish we got points for thinking about scrapping lol. I will be cheering on my Chiefs today - hoping for that historical repeat and eating BBQ lol.

So far I have been able to meet ten of the twelve 29-4-29 challenges (2 of them mine), but this scrappy train is going to come to a screeching halt in a couple of days. I am heading to Orlando with dd & dgs for ten days. Hoping to get my February points so far added up before then. Certainly won't want to be doing MATH when I come back LOL. Wow, boymom5! Seventeen pages? And some other creations? Amazing! Would love to see some of them. My in-person crop comes at the end of March. I am loving the pages and cards we have been seeing. Need to catch up on comments in the Sharing thread and on Flickr. How is your son doing, pantsonfire? julie5, don't feel bad because of US! If you can play and you want to play and you can earn some points at the same time, wonderful. If not, that's okay, too. (((((Hugs))))) angel97701 to you and your ds.

As par for the course . . . roller coaster life! Good news, we accepted an offer on the home and hope to close April 18th. They also gave us time to move the "shop" stuff as most of the house is moved or donated. Taking the weekend off from all of that. We actually had four contenders, and so we have back-ups if this first buyer backs out. Our realtor thinks it is a really strong buyer, and they are excited. I am just thankful that I will finally not have to manage a home that is 1700 miles away. That we won't have two home loan payments! Praising God! It's been a really long road. The down side is, our home lost 15% of it's value since we first started the process. But trying to focus on the positives!
Poor DS18 was falsely accused of taking a teacher's phone that resulted in a search AND they found a cannabis vape pen (that he could have only gotten on their campus). When all the pieces stopped moving he was released from the consequences of the contraband as they did not follow his IEP Prior Written Notice. Today his teacher apologized to him and his case manager was there to facilitate. Now the school knows how important supervision of both him and his belongings is to keep him safe. This is better than what we had at his old High School. But is was a angst ridden time for this mom. Can we just please make it to May 31st and Graduation? Guardianship for a vulnerable adult takes about 2 months, so that is in process. He will have an assessment for waiver services by the county on 3/1. His psychiatric drug DNA profile is finally on it's way, 2/26 with results a month later. Still no word on the SS determination. Yep, this is the life of a special needs mama with a child now considered an adult!
Crafting? Finally might have some time to look at the 29-4-29 challenges!

I had a handful of the 29-4-29 challenged done and got through week 4 of 2024 PL and a couple 2924 pages done this week! I am probably going to need to slow down some now though as my plate is full with teaching, classes I’m taking and kids activities. My goal is to keep up with PL 2024 as I can get those pages done fairly quickly once pictures are chosen and edited. I also need to get my garden planning started. Anyone else gardeners?

I love having a beautiful garden but don't love actually working in it! I'm a fair weather gardener... and I don't plan. lol. I'm looking at the snow damaged flax leaves I have to remove and the snowberry that needs cutting back hard but unless the sun comes out multiple days in a row I'm not going to get to them any time soon. Luckily my garden seems to thrive on neglect. Keeping up with PL is a good goal. It can get a little overwhelming if you let it go, even though it's a fairly quick process if you keep up with it. A lot like housekeeping. And weeding. Do you grow a lot of vegetables? Do you have a long growing season where you are? We've had such a mild winter a lot of our plants were trying to flower in November!

I have a mix of veggies and flowers in ours. It’s a large fenced in garden next to our small orchard. Last year I was terrible with keeping it up and it literally became a jungle but it was one of our best harvests! Our season isn’t terribly long. I plant cold matter end of March and then we can maybe got trough October for cold weather. Summer is June through September. The last few years we’ve gotten a longer growing season into the fall which has been so nice!

Still working on house, tax, and DS issues. Seems the septic tank needs to be replaced, ack! We are planning on making the next moving trip 3/1-3/17. We will move all belongings from the inside of the home. DH has a huge job ahead to move molds/jigs/stands for four different aircraft designs--some are on the property. Also have steel frames that will have to be moved--unfortunately scrap metal is no longer valuable as the price of steel has tanked, so we will have to pay to have them moved. The buyers are letting us use one shop to store stuff that we won't have room for on this next trip. It will take us about 2.5 days of almost non-stop driving to get back to Oregon, then a solid three days to drive back.
Looking at the positive side--the rest of my craft supplies will get moved!
I've been printing and putting together project life style pages for our tour the the USS Missouri when we were at Pearl Harbor Museums. Can't really focus on much else. Just thankful I can at least do this! Ack!
No vegetable for me this year. I will miss my garden and greenhouse set up I had before. But am thankful for the new home and new environment for DSs.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Hello Party people! I am back from Orlando with a ton of memories, literally hundreds of unprinted photos and a case of Covid. Feeling a little less exhausted today, but I haven't actually done much either besides add up my February points and claim my February bonus for the team. Quick reminder to everyone--if you have taken on ALL the 29-4-29 challenges by end of day March 7th, you can claim a 500 point bonus. But if you miss that deadline, you can still claim the 5 points for completing the challenge and 2 for the twist any time you complete them through to the end of this quarter. Oh, and the 29-4-29 challenges you complete in a month can be checked off as challenges completed. I won't have them all done within this next week, but intend to keep plugging away. Have a safe and productive moving trip, angel97701 . I think your scrappy supplies out west miss you and will be glad to be reunited with the ones in your new home. Hoping your ds is doing better. Will he be going on this trip to say goodbye to your former home and maybe some friends there? As for gardening, I have a love/hate relationship with our big veggie patch. I love getting out there in the spring and throughout the summer in one or two hour bites. Nothing like the smells and sights and sounds out there: the peacefulness of it all. Love watching things grow. Love the taste of fresh veggies and prefer to freeze my own rather than buy fresh or frozen. Love preparing meals when I "shop" from my garden to see what's on the menu today. But I HATE weeding, and when the veggies produce they do it in waves, so the work can drag me down late summer and through the fall. Right now the garden is sitting there under a foot or so of snow, waiting until May when the cycle begins again.

Hello Party people! I am back from Orlando with a ton of memories, literally hundreds of unprinted photos and a case of Covid. Oh no! I hope you're not very sick Thanks for sharing the info about the 29-4-29 challenges. I'm afraid this month really got away from me. How can January feel so long and February so short? We are planning on making the next moving trip 3/1-3/17. We will move all belongings from the inside of the home. Good luck on that long trip and this stage of moving. It will be wonderful to finally have all your crafting supplies. There are signs of spring all over here. We have very long springs, especially in El Niño years. It will be spring here until early July, most likely - showers, clouds, mild temperatures. We always say summer begins here on July 5th. My backyard is coming back to life. An old peony that we transplanted at the worst possible time from my FIL's has sprouted. A miracle! Peonies hate to be moved, especially when they're actively growing. But I also got stuck with a backyard full of large cobalt blue plant pots to sell on his behalf. Many are to big and heavy for me to lift, and there are so many - definitely more than 50. I need to get them cleaned up and then start selling them on Marketplace but it's cold and rainy and I don't wanna. lol. Not all of them are visible in these pics... They are very pretty... but they were all on one old deck at my FIL's. The weight of them all potted up was immense! And he was sick of planting and watering them each year. They should be very easy to sell

Well we are heading to Oregon tomorrow, hopefully we waited long enough to miss most of the winter storm that seems to be headed from the PNW towards Wyoming and Colorado. We are going the northern route through Montana. Talk to you in about 2 weeks!

I am s l o w l y working on a layout. This Covid, while the symptoms have pretty much disappeared, has left me very tired. So just taking it slow. I am up to date where I left off before DS fractured his leg (which is healing nicely!).
