Hope you are feeling better, pantsonfire. Be kind to yourself. The first couple weeks I couldn't think creatively at all. Spent my time sorting through stuff and cleaning off my scrap counters. Then it took me a couple of super simple LO's to get the creative juices flowing again. Can't believe it is already the middle of MARCH! Next week I will be posting the Q-2 sign up thread. Where did the time go? Glad I had counted up my points to the end of February. I have an in person crop coming up next weekend, so I should actually count up everything before then so that I won't be completely overwhelmed afterward. Spending this weekend at the hockey rink. Then I have to start sorting and packing...

How is it the middle of March?! It was just the first of March the other day lol. The time change is really messing with my sleep right now too. I'm not tired when the clock says I should be lol.
I can't believe this quarter is almost over. I seriously feels like it just started and I sure don't have much to show for it. Hopefully I'll be more productive next time.

I'm Baaaaaaack! After a grueling 13 days of driving, packing and driving we are back in MN. Yes the rest of my craft room is in MN, but some of the things I really wanted here are still in the shop (15 minutes away), but four 3 drawer units are in my craft room. They have the extra supplies, envelopes etc. What I really hope for is to get the shelves set up in the garage where these will eventually live . . . my craft space in Oregon was almost twice the size. The flip side is I have new dedicated crafting furniture (Dream Box 2, Dream cart, and 8 cubbies. A large 3 drawer metal filing cabinet will eventually house my stamps/dies collection--but I will have to unearth the boxes at the shop which are stacked.
Trip recap: missed the biggest part of the storm--just 200 miles in North Dakota of swirling snow on the freeway. I drove 40 mph and did only that, no looking around, no getting items from my purse, just focus. DH came down with a nasty cold virus the night before we left (Saturday), unfortunately I was only 24 hours behind him. He was feverish Sunday evening, I was still good to go. DH slept for a few hours, then got up and drove. DS drove and almost fell asleep, I am very thankful he kept us on the road in our little motor home. Both DH and I were sick for the first few days and each took short naps to get through the work. We got to Oregon by Tuesday evening and worked through the week through Wednesday. We were blessed to have my mother come over and help run errands, and provided take-out meals. She didn't want me trying to cook while packing--so thankful! We loaded a 26 foot Penske truck. DH wanted to move everything, things I thought were worth going to donations. Oh well, it's here. Thankful for the large shop to house stuff until I can get through it bit by bit.
Yep middle of March, maybe a little crafting later this week. Still need to go back and tally up February, which is mostly working on photos for the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor.

Is anybody up to lead a team next quarter or later in the year? It's pretty easy - you don't even have to craft a lot, or at all! In all honesty I think I'd be terrible at it as I don't remember to check in unless I'm tagged. I haven't been creating as much over the last several months either, so I just feel like this is not the right time for me to help out.

I hope you get all set up in your space quickly

I totally missed angel97701 s post too joblackford! Chinagirl828, the hardest part of being team leader is your team who doesn't help keep the chat thread alive I was just chatting about this with a challenge team member on our rival team last night - she says she still really likes the challenge teams for the community and belonging, but wishes the team threads were livelier. Does anyone else have a feeling about why they like/dislike challenge teams and why we're not more chatty? I wonder if we should just make 1 giant challenge team thread. That way our threads would always include everyone - we wouldn't feel like we were losing a friend when they got placed on an opposing team the following quarter? The thread could include some competitive friendly goading? So, angel97701 - what a hideous adventure! Trying to move and travel while sick - thanks, hard pass. I'm glad you are almost completely done and that final move is over. You must be so relieved. Your new scrap space sounds well furnished even though you are still working out the kinks. Did you know I'm moving too? We bought a house 3x the size of our current house so I will finally have an above ground scrap space! Mine is 3 miles from current house tho so my move will be so much easier than yours!

I haven't been on as often lately as life has been out of sorts. I have been doing a bit less crafting as well. I'm crafting this weekend with the Pinkfresh scrapbooking event. The projects look fun overall and I'm excited to try some new things!
Chats for me really depend on what's going on in life. I'd love to chat more and even try out one of the crops, but it's been really nonstop go for me and not in a fun way!

Mine is 3 miles from current house tho so my move will be so much easier than yours! Great news about your move! Above ground scrap space? What a luxury!! I hope your new space has all the light and elbow room you need Three miles is a lot easier distance but moving is still rough, even if you just move next door it’s a huge disruption. When are you moving in? I think half of the problem with these chats is that they’re on the challenge board and some of us never scroll there. I would completely forget this chat existed if I didn’t have it bookmarked (which only works sometimes) and if grammadee didn’t nudge me to nudge you about things periodically. Same reason we moved the share thread to the main board? I like the idea of a combined chat - it might be more active, and there’s potential for friendly teasing and goading if we can remember who is on which team. The share thread is combined so we’re cheering along people who aren’t on our team there… so why not have a joint team chat? It might be worth trying unless someone can point out a reason not to. Especially during the quiet months.

Chinagirl828, the hardest part of being team leader is your team who doesn't help keep the chat thread alive Guilty as charged! I think half of the problem with these chats is that they’re on the challenge board and some of us never scroll there. I think, for me, the problem is the sketchy Saturday threads, which are the only challenge threads I regularly check (even though I'm terrible at completing them in any sort of timely manner) are on the main board so I don't really have a reason to come into the challenge board. And because I'm not coming in here I don't see the team thread and can't do my bit to keep it moving. I'm also in a period of life that is busier than usual, and so even on the main board I'm still reading the threads but much less likely to join the conversation. I haven't scrapped anywhere near as frequently in the last probably year or so, I'm hoping that will change as we head into winter, but honestly, who knows. I don't have strong opinions either way on a both teams thread vs individual team threads.

the hardest part of being team leader is your team who doesn't help keep the chat thread alive Amen! And I'm guilty of not chatting when I'm not the team lead. Maybe because I struggle to keep my team threads alive and it's like a respite if I'm not the lead lol.

I’m not sure if I’m going to sign up for Q2… Anyone else feel like they’re going to make what they make anyway, but the sharing and counting just feels like too much? I feel silly because honestly it’s not much extra work at all, (IT REALLY ISN’T!) and I usually share anyway. Why do I rebel at the end of every quarter?! I might’ve just talked myself into signing up again… Can someone give me a gentle shove in the right direction?

I might’ve just talked myself into signing up again… Can someone give me a gentle shove in the right direction? Here you go . . . SHOVE!!!
I signed up because I need some love, prayers, and creative mojo!
Last Sunday the saga with DS18 with IQ of 78 and no executive functioning continued. He was worked into a FASD melt down frenzy by his girlfriend of less than 6 weeks. She has him totally coerced to do what ever she wants. He chose to walk out of our home with one backpack, his lacrosse gear, dressed for the winter storm that was raging. The reason? We told them he could not come over to her house that afternoon due the the incoming storm. We've been in contact through texts, but his are typically poorly written, those she writes for him has punctuation and it is obvious she has written the text. She sent me some very confrontative texts last Sunday before I blocked her. She is a manipulative power hungry teenager. DS25 walked and argued with him to get him to come back for 45 minutes, the first time he walked out. Once back he was talking to his mentor from OYCP from last spring, then managed to get away again. We did not use physical force to retain him as he is "legally and adult". Her family picked DS18 up about a mile from our home, just before DS25 got to him the second time. On Sunday he sent DS25 snap videos of him drinking and most like high on pot. It's been a week of intense uncertainty as we had snow days Monday and Tuesday, he was late to school Wednesday, made it all day Thursday, and Good Friday off. His attitude and demeanor has not changed. Drama today as we believe girlfriend's family has finally said he has to move on. He tried a few of his wrestling buddies on Thursday night, one who wisely contacted me and I gave him the true details. He passed it around to the others to NOT let him come couch surf. The parents of this manipulative power hungry teen didn't even have the courtesy to call us or check in. They just believed whatever they were told by the teens. I have very little respect for this family--they have no idea of his history, his disability, and why we were parenting in a way to keep him on track and safe. I have caught girlfriend in several lies, along with DS--the latest was just 5 days prior. The drugs found in his backpack at school on 2/14 were most likely given to him by this girl. DH and I are firm that this is a time for tough love--he thinks he deserves the "respect of an adult" where he doesn't realize that the actions of an adult is what earns the respect, not the chronological age. His disability causes lack of executive function, poor cognitive abilities, no sense of how the world really works. I have been working many hours to secure him the safety net of state benefits, county benefits, and social security due to his disability.
Needless to say this has taken a toll on my sleep and digestive system. Really have eaten only bland foods to try and heal up the IBS diarrhea flareup. DH and DS25 are leaving for Oregon again tomorrow to make another trip to finish up the move and get the house ready for closing. Yes the house can be secured.
Must not forget to share that our dear old Charlie boy, a wonderful loyal German Shepherd died on Thursday evening of natural causes. He was just 6 weeks shy of the ripe old age of 14. It was his time and he went in his way. I am thankful that this occurred before DH and DS25 left, as we were all able to say our goodbyes.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I would probably participate some in the challenge chat threads if they were combined. It would be easier to keep up with everyone especially as the teams change each quarter. I don't think I chatted at all the last 2 rounds. Of course I haven't been very creative or crafty at all. Been dealing with a lot of sickness and family drama that sunk me into a pretty good depression. Things are finally starting to turn around a little.
Final points for Q1
Time crafting/scrapping - 140 pts Organizing scraproom hours - 120 pts Stencil card project 11+ 14V's + 25 V bonus = 50pts
Total points - 310

Anyone else feel like they’re going to make what they make anyway, but the sharing and counting just feels like too much? Totally! I was really happy when the easy peasy counting became a thing, although I don't hate the count each challenge once per month, but it does feel like a hassle when I'm in the groove for creating and don't want to stop and work out what challenges I've met. joblackford my total points for the quarter is 154.

Oh no, angel97701 That's a lot... Sending you strength and hugs too natscraps - I hope things are looking up Thanks for posting points already! Chinagirl828 I don't even bother to check the challenge list until I'm counting up at the end of the month. I have a page where I try to write down each project with how many cards, shared or not, special bonuses, which I keep up with fairly well as I go. But for the challenges I open my flickr/IG and list and skim through the challenge list to ask myself did anything have stars, ink, vellum, etc. Tick tick tick. I use a different color for each month on the same printout, count up the checkmarks, and I'm good to go. If I had to do it at the end of a craft session it would never get done and I don't want to read that enormous list over and over.

I need to send our team total to grammadee in the next few days. I've got points totals from about half of the team. Tagging: peasapie kokomo37 mich5481 kkrenn boymom5 angel97701 kitbop I think some of you might have some points recorded in the points collection thread so I'll check there. Just a reminder to update those with your March totals and/or post or PM me a Q1 total if you can. Don't worry if it's perfect or if you're not sure if something "counts" - we don't stress that much here. And don't forget to guesstimate how many hours you spent crafting for 10 pts per hour - that can add up. Thanks

Okay I will guesstimate: in Feb about 200 hours printing and putting photos into PL style pages, not finished. Maybe only 30 points for March. I think I put my Jan points in the other thread I will have to check and it is 661. So total around 891.
