I think that the Crafter’s Companion stamps are acrylic as opposed to photo polymer. I have a difficult time stamping acrylic stamps—the ink beads up on them and the detail is really hard to maintain because it is softer than photopolymer. It is a small sentiment set so it could be much, much worse.
Did anyone else notice that or am I mistaken? And if anyone has any suggestions for me, I’m all ears.
Other than the volume of butterflies across the board, I am happy with almost everything in the box, which is pretty amazing considering how much stuff is in there.

I skipped this year and am feeling a bit of FOMO now of course. I hope some of you will share your cards. I'd love to see them!

I haven't stamped the Crafter's Companion stuff yet, but I thought the SB.com stamps felt thinner than usual. I did get a decent impression with them though. So far I've completed homework for four classes. I will spend the day working on a few more and call it good enough. Winter is long, and I will have plenty of time to get it done.

mrsp , I haven't done the homework for CC yet, will take a look at them today. I'm off work and am hoping to get everything set up for tomorrow. Need to move my desktop over to my crafting desk. Clean off all the leftover cardstock. Went to the store and got food/snacks for the next four days. Am hoping my mojo, which has been hiding, will show up in time for the first class. I took a look at the spring event email, and it looks like it is around $25/class (with shipping). It's $249 US/$299 Canada and 11 classes over three days. Shipping is $27. Altenew has been added to the line up. Registration opens October 1 for alumni, October 4 for newbies. I'm going to see how this one goes this weekend, before I make a decision. It looks like Simon Hurley, Crafter's Companion, Stamps of Life, Picket Fence Stamps, MFT Stamps and Honey Bee Stamps are missing from the line up. I really like Simon and Kelley, don't care for the others, so.

I really really really like the MFT cards. That pattern paper is just the perfect plaid. I've searched high and low for something similar and cannot find anything. I also made a cutting mistake so I had to use the second sheet of one pattern. I will gladly mail you my plaid MFT paper in a padded mailer if you are comfortable PMing me an address. I will not use it. Thank you for the offer that is so sweet. I was actually able to get some local

I just tried stamping the whole sheet of sentiments with my Stamp Wheel. They are thin script - several different fonts - but all stamped okay except the "Enjoy the little things in life" sentiment. The end of the sentiment didn't stamp well - I'd have to take it off the sheet and try it by itself. I think these are meant to be stamped directly onto the card, as there are no dies to cut them out with. I'm excited to try the new inks Sara talked about (two colors in one), I need to find my spritzer bottle - that class should be interesting!

The 3 day event sounds better than 4 days. I need to plan out and budget which events I'll sign up for next year. There's too many I want to sign up for. If only we had sneak peeks. I know there's the C&9th winter retreat in February and Pinkfresh events that I know I'll sign up for. I think Taylored Expressions has Stamp Joy in March. I swore I wasn't going to sign up last year but ended signing up and having a blast. I also like that the TE event has no homework. I'll think about it! I am super excited to take all the classes but will start on Saturday since I'll be working. Homework is ready, I just need to gather all my supplies for each class. I can't wait to see everyone's different takes on the cards. I'm boring and like to follow directions step by step. Hope everyone posts their cards!

MDscrapaholic, I am looking forward to Sara's class too and want to see how those inks work. The cards look really pretty. Hero Arts is doing something inky too and I can't wait to take that. I've taken classes with Channin in the Hero Arts Stamp Along and she really is creative and thinks outside the box.

It's gloomy and rainy here too. I finished the homework for 8 or 9 classes. So I'm ready. I have plans throughout the weekend, so I knew I wouldn't be able to take all the classes live, but I'm hoping to get a good chunk of them done.

Are you ready to rumble? I know some of us are working or having other things going on (good luck today, marg !). Those in the path of Hurricane Helene, stay safe! Check in when you can. This is our safe place to comment on what we're learning and showing off our cards! i have to walk the dog (Pepper) and get her settled so I can be ready.

Marg, sending you loads of good thoughts today.
I am pretty much set for this morning. I need to clean off my desk from yesterday's craftermath but that's it. It's pouring down buckets today, so I don't feel the least bit guilty about holding up in my crafty space for the day. Have fun, everyone!

I can't participate live this time around. So, Saturday after I get home from a meeting I'm diving in with the Thursday classes. Sunday, I plan to do Friday's classes and then in a couple of weeks I'm getting together with a couple of friends and we are doing the Saturday/Sunday classes together.

I have been pleasantly surprised with both classes today - both were slower paced and fun! Cards are gorgeous. Didn't do them all, but did two for each (Pink and Main, Scrapbook.com).
On to Taylored Expressions!

Pink and Main - I didn't want a shaker card so adjusted it a little. This is the only one I managed to do for this class. Scrapbook.com - I loved these, but they entail a LOT of die cutting and putting together. I need more time to do them than the class allows, although Laura went at a very nice pace, not rushed. If I had done ALL of the homework I probably could have finished them... Card 1 Card 3. I didn't attempt card #2. Yet. Taylored Expressions cards I messed up the "just a note" card - will have to re-do. Jenn Shurkus is next with Lawn Fawn!

I worked on the Pink and Main class tonight and finished 2 cards. The one with 2 butterflies isn't really a shaker. I didn't have foam so I stacked white cardstock but it's not thick enough. Another participant said she cut some of the butterfly to make the open spaces bigger. I'll try that if I make it again.

Jenn Shurkus makes me want to "glitter all the things!" I loved these Christmas mice cards, they are not 100% yet, still need some dots of glitter. She is slowly turning me into a "colorer" although I can't see myself investing in Copics. I have enough OLO markers received from these events to do these cards.

Your cards are beautiful! I really enjoyed all of the classes yesterday. Taylor's class was like a two hour infomercial. Good grief. I realize that's the point of being part of something like this, but I felt it was completely over the top. I finally turned off the video and simplified the cards so I wouldn't have to listen any longer.

Y’alls card look great!!
Yesterday I had non craft stuff to do. Did a couple things late last night. Helene took our power out here in upstate SC, and made a mess, so no playing today. Bummer. But it could have been so much worse so I will not complain.
I felt the same way about Taylor. Infomercial is a good descriptor. Lol.

lokismom , yes, she was a little over the top yesterday. I usually like TE products, but am not a fan of these. mcjunkin - hope you stay safe from Helene, and hope your power comes back soon. I'm north of you in Maryland but am not supposed to get much, just rain, for a week.

I have not been very productive today. The Crafters Companion class was one I knew I was going to skip but I totally sucked at the LDRS class. My watercolor panel was just a hot mess. I didn't get any cards completed in that class. Hopefully Simons class goes better. Here are my cards so far. I was a rebel in the Pink & Main class. I'm not a fan of that full shaker window thing. It's too puffy for my liking and still I need to finish that card. My ballon was too high so you can see it peaking out from the closed bear card and I should have ink blended my bunny grey. I had the hardest time lining up that burst stencil to the hey circle. I gave up and just lined it up any old way. Using the white ink over the stencil was a mess too. I need to finish the Just a Note card. I do really like this layering stencil set. lokismom I didn't realize how much Taylor was promoting her products until you said something. You are right, it really was over the top this time. The one thing I really dislike about Taylors "lives" is that lady who screams in the background. I don't know why but it really really bothers me. I have a ton of pieces left for more Spellbinders cards but I was over die cutting tiny pieces together by the end of that class.

Great cards pinklady! Can you share your color combo on that beautiful blended background? Love the thistle die.

I finished 2 from the Spellbinders class tonight. I messed up on the thistle blooms but decided to use them anyway. I struggled with the 3D folder as it seemed very tight in my sizzix and I was worried about breaking it. I need to look into that a bit more.
