I always have issues cutting acetate. Eventually I usually manage. Bubble mailer maybe? I have one or two sheets stashed away somewhere, but cannot find them. I thought for sure I put them with my vellum. Anyhow, I think Ryann is going to cut them for me, so grateful for kind and generous crafty friends!

I have all the cutting done for the seven cards I plan to make. I still have next weekend if I have a change of heart and decide to participate in Carissa's or Jennifer's classes.
I might get out some junk mail or printer paper, cut the greenhouse, and experiment with making it a pop-up card sort of thing. If I can get that to work, I might modify Kristina's treat box and make that a card.
I have misplaced one of the flat-bottom greenery dies for that set....

Referring to the folks snarking about DST on FB?!
Die located. First pop-up experiment a failure. I suspect it can be done, after a fashion, but I'm not sure it would end up seeming worthwhile.

Is everyone ready for camp next weekend? I have the die cutting done but not assembled for all the classes except Kristina's and I have not done any stamping homework. I'm hoping to focus on that this week but we'll see. I'm definitely not as prepared as I would like. I really wanted to get a few turnabouts pre-stamped with various color combos including the ones from class but my crafting time has been very limited lately. I'm renovating my bathroom on the weekends and after 5 weeks of demo and work, the floor tile is in, grouted and sealed. We basically ripped out the floor to the studs to reinforce it before laying the new tile so this has been soooo much work. I can finally appreciate it now that it's in and can actually see the results. Now all the pretty transformational stuff can happen like painting & decorating. It's just been me and my dad doing the actual work so I guess in a way I've been "crafting" but just not with paper.

That sounds like a lot of work. pinklady. I hope you're at least having some fun with it. By deciding to sit out both Carissa's and Jennifer's classes, as well as half of Kristina's my die-cutting efforts were greatly diminished. If you read the class instructions for Laura's class, the stamping isn't really homework, so the die cutting isn't either, unless you cut and then stamp using a jig. i might do that cutting later this week.

It's just been me and my dad doing the actual work so I guess in a way I've been "crafting" but just not with paper. Hurray for home renovations, especially when they are nearing completion. And having your dad to help you is amazing, lucky you! Hopefully you can find the time to get to the rest of the prep in the next day or two, so you don't get too stressed out about it. I have completed the scavenger hunt, created a camp cheer (yay me...I did nothing last year) and will likely work on a flag today. If anyone has any ideas for a unique Watermelon camp flag, I am all ears! All the die cutting is done, and I actually already made one donut box card yesterday (I rarely play with supplies before the event takes place) because I think it is just too ridiculously cute. I bought a set of strip donut sentiments from TE to coordinate with the donut set as I'm not a huge fan of that large, childlike font in the C9 set. BTW, I think that the donuts and frosting look amazing with a little ink blending around the edges. I need to work on some of the sentiment stamping. I want to go through it all and see which cards I want to find a different sentiment for. As far as changing colors, I do very little of that for the classes, sometimes I find it just easier to do the first version of a card in the suggested colors even if they're not my favorite color combos. I'd love to know what colors you settle on, especially for the turnabout if you feel like sharing pinklady.

The donuts I knew from the get-go I was going to skip and decided the rest would be worthwhile. The greenhouse I hoped was some sort of dimensional pop-up card, rather than a treat box. I was really happy to see that they switched to a flat card for the second project in that class and plan to do that. Given what an early riser I am and when these start because of time zone, I could relent and decide to make the treat box, doing the die-cutting in the morning before class. My resistance to Jennifer's interactive cards took me a little by surprise, honestly. But the more I look at them, the more I find them a little disturbing, rather than attractive. I might play around with making something with part of this and part of last year's similar set. It's the person and the arm especially that's just not working for me....
But the C&9th B/S/T FB group does a lively business in camp goods, so I'm not too worried that I'll have a donut-albatross around my neck for long....

Hey campers, I started playing with my turnabout stamp and found that the leaves turnabout stamp is defective. Three of the leaves have a solid straight line thru them. Ignore the bad stamping...that was user error. I emailed C9 so hopefully they will send a replacement.

Speaking of the turnabout, I’m pretty peeved with it. I am not new to turnabouts, and I’m aligning the stamps perfectly, leaf by leaf, flower by flower to the alignment aid. I’m posting some pics below. In the examples both on the back of the packaging and in the booklet, each flower, each leaf has breathing space around it. In actuality it stamps on top of previously stamped images and is just simply messy and disappointing. Has anyone else played with it and are you having the same issue? Looks like pinklady’s is behaving the same way :/ First of, showing that each turnabouts aligned beautifully: Overlapping leaves: The messy looking finished project:

MichyM Mine are actually aligning perfectly. That first pic I posted, the cardstock moved and I forgot to reposition it before I stamped. These are the turnabouts I've stamped: ETA: Once I get the stamp on the alignment guide, I put the jig in the corner of my stamp positioner and line up the white X and Black X, then close the door. I remove the alignment guide from the stamp and I also remove the jig. I always stamp my turnabouts on 6x6 cardstock. I did notice the black X on the guide did not match up to the white X on the jig when both were in the corner. I had to move my stamp around to get them to line up.

pinklady , thank you. On the one hand, I’m glad it’s not an across the board thing, but on the other hand it seems really odd that both the flowers and leaves are off on my set. It must have come from a different production run. I love your color choices, are those C9 inks, or someone else’s? Anyhow, I sent an email to C9 and included my pics as well as the one of yours that show just the leaves as well as the leaves and flowers. Hopefully they can replace it for me, and hopefully I get one that stamps like your set. Everything crossed!

Still have not heard a word from C9 about my turnabout pinklady did you send to the regular C9 customer service email, or the events one? And, I'm wondering if everyone is ready to roll? Homework done, craft space reasonably picked up, snacks procured? Lastly, another Pea and I are getting together on Saturday to do the classes, hurray! We have not met in person yet, just over FaceTime, and she's just as lovely as you might imagine. I'll send one of the 2023 cabin specific die sets (if you want it) to the first person to guess who it is correctly!
Happy Summer Camp "eve" friends!

Well that was super easy I'm so glad I get to meet her in person! I'll post a photo of the two different die sets and you can choose tomorrow. Or if photos are somewhere online already, the two I have are the Dragonfruit Cabin or the Lemongrass Cabin. Both are unused.

I found them in last year’s FB group. I like the presents, but hate the broken word, so I think I might have to say Lemongrass. Thank you!
And I’m envious. I’d like to meet a Pea in person!

I've met quite a few from the NSBR side over the decades, and they are all wonderful, truly. This will be my first time meeting a card-making pea. I wish we could all get together, I think it would be a blast. I've set the lemongrass dies aside for you. I'll mail them with your summer card exchange card if you're ok with that. May be another week or two until I get them sent out though.

Oh and also, I've never heard back from C9, I wonder if my email had too many images and it got stuck in their spam? BUT....I finally figured out what was wrong, hurray. It's not the stamps or alignment, it's the jig. It's about 1/16" short on one side. Glad I had a spare jig to give it a whirl.

Yes, MichyM, tucked inside a card is perfectly fine! Thank you so much! I hope you already have or know that you don't want the frog from last year, because I haven't used it and should rehome that, but your card went out yesterday.... I am planning to use my existing turnabout jig. It almost sounds like many in this lot might have that issue, since it would also explain the black and white Xes not aligning when aid and jig were both in the corner as pinklady described, I think.
