I can't wait to see what the counselors come up with for the challenge.

Love love love the products from Laura's class. I was thrown for a loop at first when she started blending but I got the hang of what colors I was looking for on my finished flowers. My solar paste is drying so the second card is not assembled yet. This is my first summer camp so the pre-recorded video then a live demo was different but I totally feel like I had enough time and was not rushed.

It's NOT my first camp, and they say they've been doing it this way for a while, but I totally do NOT remember it from last year.

Meghan is so cool calm and collected when she's teaching. She keeps my anxiety down. These are the cards from her class

I only finished one of Jaycee's cards. These are really hard for me yet he makes it look so effortless.
I have to say, I'm nearing the end of my ability to craft today. I'm not sure how much of Carissa's class I will get to.

I did go back and look. Yes, it was set up the same way last year. No idea why it seemed so unfamiliar....

I have to say, I'm nearing the end of my ability to craft today. I'm not sure how much of Carissa's class I will get to. I don't know where you are or how the schedule worked for you, but I was nearing the end of my patience by Jaycee's class. I actually was taking a break, having a snack, and just watching when I realized my husband had roped my kid into starting dinner because he was getting home later than expected and wanted to let me have more crafting time. I ended up going back to crafting along out of guilt, but I'm not sure it was the wise choice. Not only did I not do a very good job blending, but I misplaced one of the gold flower centers -- which I'd stored attached to the die, since it didn't want to come out. So now I can't even recut it

I worked on the mini donut card this morning before classes start. I'm waiting for my MFT order before I put sentiments on it. The pink top is a bit crooked but it works. I'm not a fan of Carissa's first card but I really like her hinged bonus cards. I'll try those instead.

I like this interactive die set. I think it has a lot of potential. I got the first card completed but I'm holding off on the second card until I watch the two bonus videos. I don't like the placement of the second sentiment on the bottom of the circle, I wish I would have skipped that.

Tore the craft room apart this morning and didn’t find the missing dies and die cuts. Stymied finishing Jaycee’s cards, I distracted myself with a completely non-camp-related project as well as adding embellishments and a sentiment to my second card from the first class. Started watching Jennifer’s class. I’m impressed with the improvements to the interactive dies compared to last year’s. Went to the grocery store. Came home, went back into the craft room. Opened my iPad to take some photos and there were the dies — stuck to the magnetic closure of my iPad cover. Keep in mind, I use the Pad to track my grocery list. At least it was stuck to a magnet, so I didn’t lose it in the store or parking lot or what have you….

I made flat greenhouse cards instead of the 3D box. I looked thru my stash and the Honey Bee My Favorite Flower stamp set coordinates really well with the greenhouse die.

I don't know...he makes it look effortless, but he talks quite a bit about how much effort he puts into some of the details of placement, how he cuts out of his videos the amount of time he spends there, and things like that. I love to listen to him speak about the inspiration that he gets from his garden, because I find the plants and critters around me very inspiring as well, but I just don't have/can't muster some of that scientific/mathematic precision he brings to the craft table.

I will have to take a new photo of that greenhouse card; not sure what happened.
Latest thing to go walkabout from Shakti's impossibly messy craft space? The entire package of donut sprinkle enamel stickers! Once I find them, I will have a finished card from Jaycee's class! Which somehow bears only a passing resemblance to his, I think, but that's par for the course.
Last year's camp had a similar interactive die set, but they didn't have the little alignment aid "leg" or "arm". Gave me fits trying to get things cut accurately. While I still don't like the little person, I'm looking really forward to trying the bonus cards as well as some of the elements from last year with these new, improved dies!

Just saw this card on IG using the interactive die set. I'm totally copying this when I get my citrus stamp set.

Last one for now. I think I’m going to pull out all the things from both of my camp years this weekend, play around, do some bonus cards, and decide what to resell and what to keep.

GORGEOUS cards girls! I loved this event, the only projects I wasn't thrilled with were Jennifer's. Interactive cards really aren't my thing. But I do love the zesty card that pinklady posted. Makes me wish I had purchased that set from C9. I'll have to look through my things and see if I don't have something I could use to make something similar. Camp is SO well run and the projects are really up my alley. After The Weekender (which was a complete and total bust for me) this was like a breath of fresh air. I had the best time on Saturday with Ryann. I hope she did too, there was a lot of laughing. We spent about 12 hours together, and really never stopped talking...we had to rewind a few times because of that! If you ever have a chance to meet her, JUMP on it! I'll post some pics in the next couple of days.

I have really enjoyed seeing everyone's cards posted in here - thank you for sharing! This was my first summer camp. I had an absolute blast crafting with MichyM - crafty friends are the best! I am so pleased to have finished six cards from the event so far - soooo not my norm. I have three classes left to complete. I will need to pause on those for now, as the PF foil event is coming up soon and then it's christmas in July! I really liked some of the bonus cards (even more than the class cards!) so lots of playing left to do with these sets.

So, I know Laura Bassen's instructional style and technique methodology make me a little crazy; I find it really hard to figure out what she's actually doing/what I'm trying to do. I did not particularly love the way she blended her blooms and I really hated the results of my rather feeble attempts to follow her. i did see some simpler blended color schemes I liked better on the FB page. But I also think that using stencils just sort of obscures what I'm trying to do for me in general. I know I am far from perfect with my alcohol markers, but it was much easier for me to see the petals and where I was trying to create shadows and highlights without the stencils in my way: Upper bloom blended with a simpler scheme of mostly nectar and watermelon. Bottom one colored with Altenew artists markers. I know this makes me kind of an outlier around here. I'm ok with that!

Finished the event, here's the cards I made. The cards look much better in person, lol. Link: pin.it/6Sa1gAeBJOverall, great event as usual. Concord and 9th does a stellar job with their events, well organized, great pacing, and unique products. I really enjoyed Jaycee's blending flowers class. Actually, I enjoyed everyone's class. I really liked the cute donut class. I plan to spend the rest of the weekend making the bonus cards from the camp counselors.

Thanks MDscrapaholic, though I don't really know what I'm doing on Pinterest, lol. I just know how to post card pictures. I have never been social media savy. I love everyone's cards posted here. Also, Greg announced that they'll be a Concord and 9th Winter Retreat at the end of February, sign up is in October. They're not going to do their in the classroom events anymore. I am hoping they are winter themed with ski slopes and mountains. I really liked their Christmas event, wish they did their winter retreat before the holidays but I get that's a busy time for everyone.

This post will be photo heavy, sorry about that! I wanted to wait to post until I had made cards other than just the class cards. I've made enough cards that the stack of them measures 5.5" tall First off, my friend, who is a beginner card maker, was over the other day and made this card, which I LOVE: So, I had to card-lift it for myself I love the donut set: More donuts: Really enjoyed Jaycee's class, surprise surprise (not) with all the ink blending, and came up with a couple of unique designs: Turnabouts really aren't my thing, but once I got going with this one I had a lot of fun with different color combos: Lovely Day set: This is another one that I had fun with color combos. I really do like C9's unique selection of ink and paper colors: I'm not posting anything from the last 2 classes since I've only made the class cards and others have already posted them. While I enjoyed making the projects, I don't see myself using either set so I've already sold them. All in all, the first 4 classes were REALLY up my alley and I've only played with those supplies for the last 10 days. I think I may finally put them away for a while, but I think they'll get lots of use in the future! Definitely signing up for the next C9 event in the winter.
