I just moved to a new state, and haven't thought much about finding a LSS. I haven't moved my entire stash yet. The rest is coming next month in the next stage of our move. With that said I went and looked online and apparently there is one just 22 minutes away in a direction I don't usually travel. I might have to go check it out just for funsies. There is a retreat center with scrapbooking supplies about 2 hours away. According to the map there are a few more down around the Twin Cities.
In my former home town we had several LSS come and go. There is one that does mostly online and carries many European companies. I would shop there occasionally for Carta Bella, Echo Park, and Lawn Fawn.

How far do you have to travel to an actual scrapbook store? I do not mean JoAnn, Michael's, or Hobby Lobby. I have one that is 50 miles away. They also have other crafts and some home decor items, but I count it as a scrapbook store as there are probably at least 10 aisles of scrapbook supplies. There is a regular scrapbook store 75 miles away. Is one of the stores Crafts Direct? I’ve been wanting to go there for a while but it’s such a long drive! I haven’t been to Pine City in a long long time either because that one’s even further away and they didn’t really carry a lot of the stuff I like.

Google maps says it's 302 miles to the scrapbook store I sometimes stop at on my way to visit DD. She also has a store in her town which is 350 miles from me. There are no stores closer.

They have tons of craft items in addition to a large scrapbook section. Since you are on the east side, it is a long drive for you. I'm on the west side, so it's under an hour. I always stop for lunch on the way back at the truck stop in Clearwater. They have donuts the size of your head in the bakery! It's entertaining to check out. An even better food option would be R Social in Rogers. That would be closer to halfway and it's fantastic.

The only one I know of is ~50 miles away and closes at 5pm and was only open during the week so I have only been once. Even when I worked near it (my commute was terrible) I still was unable to go because of the hours. I think now they close at 4pm.

I’ve been there before and it’s an awesome experience especially for someone like me who dabbles in a lot of different crafts, but that’s what makes it hard because I end up wanting to spend hours there. With the 1+ hour drive there and back it makes for a pretty long day. Now that all my crafty friends either moved away or died, and DD doesn’t like shopping AT ALL but especially craft stores, I have no one to go with which makes it somewhat less fun. 😕 Do they still have their separate clearance store? That was always fun. But damn, those head sized donuts sound like they’re worth the trip, LOL.

Maybe we'll have to make it a date to meet and drive up together!

Just under an hour with $5+ in tolls. It’s such a shame.

An hour. Totally worth it. Large store, lots of events and super friendly staff.

The closest to me is 2.5 hours in Myrtle Beach. There is a newer store in Charleston, but I have no reason to go to Charleston. They are bringing their store to a NSD Crop I am going to in Columbia. I went to that store when we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach. The owner was very nice!

I have a second hand craft store about 8 minutes away (visit weekly), and there is a LSS about 25 minutes away. Amazing store, but her prices are pretty high. Exactly this. Nancy and I live in the same town and have even met in the aisles of Tuesday Morning in the good ol' days.

Our scrapbook store is only 5 minutes from me. I'm pretty lucky to see the newest 49th and Simple Story lines in person.

I think Crafts Direct would be the closest for you, in St. Cloud. You sure didn't get the winter you were probably expecting! It's crazy to be looking at 60's this weekend! Ah, thank you for the heads up! I've been to St. Cloud a few times for soccer and wrestling. Next up lacrosse, so might have to make a detour on a trip down to St. Cloud. I did check out the Pequot Lakes Wiese Crafts . . . run by an elderly lady. The smell was a bit unpleasant. She did have scrapbooking items, paper, stickers, etc. A few things that have been out of use for 20+ years. I have no need to go back.
You are right about winter, we've been saying we brought the mild winter with us "You are welcome!". However the lake did finally freeze the first week of January, and some of the more shallow lakes have open water already. We live on Gull Lake, and their are areas we see on our drive around the lake that has open water already. Last spring it took a really long time for the ice to be out and docks to be put in.

The one in Knoxville is close to downtown and so am I, so it's less than a mile. It's a great store, right off I-40.

I am about an hour from Crafts Direct, closer to Pine City scrapbook company and Anchor Paper. The store I have really been loving lately is Making Memories and More in Siren, WI. It's a little further, but such a nice small store packed with fun stuff. I went to their November crop and loved it. So I would say 30-40 min from the nearest store.

Back when I used to do paper scrapbooking, there was a great shop about two minutes from my house, right near where my in-laws used to live. Like most others, it closed down a number of years ago.
I just checked on google, and apparently there is a scrapbook shop about 20 minutes from me. It has a Facebook page but the website no longer exists, so I'm not even sure it's still open. It's right near where DSO goes to get a massage every fortnight, so I will ask him to have a look when he's there tomorrow.
ETA: I forgot about Spotlight, which I think is kind of like your JoAnns or Michaels?? They sell art and craft products, including some scrapbooking products, as well as fabric, curtains, homewares, Manchester etc. So not a huge range of scrapbooking supplies. The closest one to me is 15 minutes away.

There's a Craft Outlet in Grand Rapids which is about an hour from me but it's God awful. So really the only store I'd travel for is A Cherry on Top. It's about 1hr 15 min from me.

It really is a nice store, lots of beach-themed items. I haven't been for several years but I think it's still there. There used to be another nice store off Robert Grissom Pkwy but it was closed last time I was there.

I am fortunate to have 2 great stores that aren’t too long of a trek for me. One is about 30 miles/40 mins from me and the other is the one I think jediannie was referring to in the SF Bay Area which is about 100 miles/2 hours from me. Both are in a direction I travel pretty regularly so I will stop in on my way but usually don’t make a special trip. I will visit the one 40 mins away as a fun outing sometimes. Both have space to crop but I have never been to an event. There is apparently a store in my city 15 miles/20 mins from me but I never go to that part of town so I forget to visit but based on their rarely updated website, they don’t have too many brands I like. Looks like they do have events though. Both of the stores I visit seem to be doing well and their events regularly sell out which is reassuring.
