I’m missing a couple full sized sheets of cardstock from the kit. The Pink Sand, the Portobello and the Cosmic Sky. It also says there are 11 sheets of Neenah White - I only have 7. Someone else also posted this on the FB board, and they told her to use something from her stash. Also, Carissa Wiley’s first card - there’s no Barely Peach cardstock to cut down. They said to use the precut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece that’s included. I'm sorry, but them identifying the dies and everything else by number is not easy to figure out. I gotta walk away from this before I scream. Well….the kits are hand packed so……..they were bound to miss some………. (From the FB group) Best not say anything about the missing pin either….. “Please stop complaining!” Fan girls I reckon. Sorry the HW is such a mess. Kinda glad I’m sitting that part out. Feel sorry for those who like and want to make the cards. Should not be that hard, should it?

MDscrapaholic, if you haven't already replied to their email asking for feedback, I hope you'll include suggestions as to how to streamline the homework next time around. From what I've seen on the FB page, a lot of mistakes were made in the booklet. It seems to me that SB has pretty much dusted their hands off, held them up, and said "not our problem" and if that is so, it's stinky. I REALLY hope that for those who participate, that it is a lot more fun and you're a lot happier with the cards after creating them! I'm trying not to feel guilty for not doing any prep nor do I have any plans (currently) to watch next weekend.

The homework is a nightmare. An absolute nightmare. While I love Spellbinders, I don't see myself signing up for this event again. Maybe I'll change my mind after I take the actual classes, but right now the answer would be no way.

I just watched a quick unboxing because I had to see what the shine bright lamp card was created from/intended to be. It’s a bit of a hodgepodge. I wouldn’t have understood the theme if I hadn’t read it in a post above.
The unboxing person said there were several different (very different!) designers and then a few CT type people using those designs for their own versions - is that why there are several glass cards? Does the bike fit on an A2 card or just on a 5x7? The unboxer wasn’t clear on the size.
Based on the promotional image I wasn’t expecting this box of randomness. Glad I’m too cheap to sign up! Sorry for those who are feeling disappointed and frustrated right now. I hope it turns out better than expected.

I quit pouting and opened my box last night. My husband was watching, and was like "Why do you have dies that make a lamp??" Once I saw it, I could not unsee it. Bahahahahaha. I threw this together just for fun. I could not help myself. The lighting is terrible in my room, so forgive the bad pic. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6KMnAOLlMd It took me a long time to figure out that your lamp was made from the glass (which looks a lot more like a lamp) 😂 Brilliant. I wonder if you could make a bunch of fancy lamp cards with the other bits! If you would want to 😒

I freely admit I've been spoiled by the C&CD events. I realize now I don't like paper-piecing that much, which is what this is. Oh well. Live and learn. I used to watch all those Jennifer McGuire videos where she shows how she's got bins and bins of wee die cut parts to glue together and how much she loves it and I thought she was bonkers. So when I looked at the Spellbinders homework for that one C&CD I did and all those itty bitty pieces I figured I'd be totally miserable. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. But I haven't reached for that particular set since and that was over a year ago. Very similar experience with C&9th summer camp Tiny Terrarium die set. That's why this event didn't tempt me much if at all. At least you know now! But I'm sorry you're having such a bad time with it.

I just don't think suggestions will be welcomed. I understand that these events consist of lots of planning, executing, supporting, etc. But to give us 10 die sets, show us what dies need to be cut out by color (not by card or not by die set, so you have to search for them), and then having to search the booklet to find out what card each diecut goes on... you gotta be kidding me! I am struggling to build my class envelopes, which I like to put everything in so I'm ready for each class - the damn diecuts are identified by NUMBER in the booklet! Do I have to look at each little die to find out what the number is? If someone has figured out an easy way to do this - please share! ETA: I do see that several people in the FB group have posted photos naming the dies and what set they come from, since so many people are having problems figuring it out. That was very nice of them.

I don’t know how to do a pic….this is copy/pasted from Spellbinders Squad post in then Facebook group:
“Did you know... many of the awesome products in your kits are sneak peeks of full collections coming soon. Make sure you check in June and July to grab to coordinating products for these dies.“
It all makes sense now…..a (badly executed) marketing ploy….this hideous kit is a poorly laid out marketing campaign.
I get that that is the point of events like this, but something about this just stinks. I think I am more angry now than disappointed.
Seemingly proves that whole story about the “theme” of the kit is hogwash. Felt like that when Kim Kesti explained it, now we can see why. It was most likely a lie and made up after the fact.
should have been marketed for what it is…..a (very expensive) sampler pack. Geez. Whoever guessed this up thread should get a prize.

It makes so much more sense that they had engaged these folks to design more than just one random set. I'm happy for the designers, especially VickiP who I enjoy, and I imagine it will work quite well... $.$ if the upcoming items make some of these random things more usable.

I have followed and loved Vicky for years. The card in the class seems so not her style. Her bonus card is a little more like her. I learned from the same FB post that you can see the rest of Vicky's collection by going to Spellbinders and clicking "coming soon". She has some kind of tunnel cut series. The other ones I would have loved in the box. The cloud one is not my fave. The ocean one is pretty cute.

going to Spellbinders and clicking "coming soon" I got distracted before I got to the new collections - the mushroom/toadstool emboss and cut folder is delightful. But more importantly, a 3 in 1 banner punch! I need one! Thanks

They should have just advertised it as a sampler pack.
Did anyone finish the homework? I tried to start Monday but got frustrated and quit because I was tired of cutting. And it was confusing trying to locate what die cut belonged to which card and what set to die cut from. I am glad someone posted some updated guides on FB.
I don't think I'll do another Spellbinders event either. One class with Spellbinders is good enough for me. I like die cutting but not this much die cutting. I'm sticking to Pinkfresh, Altenew, Concord and 9th, and Crop and Create events.

I finally joined the FB group today. I also looked at the box contents again, as I haven't seen them since the original unboxing. Still not a fan. I think this will end up going on the bottom of the piles of card classes I have yet to do. Maybe by the time I get back around to it I'll feel inspired. If not I'll just pass them along in the next Round Robin box...

The more time I spent die cutting the more I started loving the contents of the kit. I'll never be a fan of "Shine Bright" and while the tunnel clouds and plane are fine, I don't have much use for them. I wish those would have been subbed with the ocean stuff on the Coming Soon page, but alas we have a plane. And I will make a few cards with it and I'll try and remember to incorporate into some travel LOs. The one thing I discovered is that I really like working with Spellbinders cardstock. It's a great weight.

I finally finished the homework too, and then spent another couple days trying to figure out which diecut went with which card. I do like the weight of the cardstock - they just didn't give us enough of it for what we paid. I'd rather have full 8 1/2 x 11 sheets instead of partial sheets. That would give us enough to do the bonus cards too. Or at least give us enough to do what the book says we're supposed to do. I'm still on the fence about doing some of the cards. I have no use for the Shine Bright cards. The plane/clouds card by Vicki is cute - I can see that being a card for a young boy/girl. The needle/thread and the wine glass are so specific - I just might make that wine glass a lamp (thanks mcjunkin )! I just did a PinkFresh holiday class with glasses - I'm about over it. Like craftmepink says, one SB class per event is enough for me. I will not do another event like this again.

Like craftmepink says, one SB class per event is enough for me. I will not do another event like this again. No. They didn't give us enough of it and honestly , that's annoying. Plus there is no rhyme or reason for some of the stuff I did get. At some point they told us there was not enough card stock for the bonus cards. When I finished the homework I had some die cuts leftover. When they finally (far too late in my opinion) amended the homework to show what die cuts go to what cards, the random pieces I had leftover were for bonus cards. Just one random die cut for the card. Then one of the bonus cards had a cardstock panel cut for it but the others didn't. It's all weird and random and frustrating. For this reason alone I probably won't do another SB event. Either give us all the cardstock we need for all the bonus cards or don't don't just throw a few random selections in. It makes it way too hard to figure out the homework. I will say I do have a TON of colored CS. Most all of it is from craft stores and super thin, but I need to use it and I will, but going forward all my replacement CS will be from Spellbinders.

I have spellbinders, the stamp market, and c9 card stock and love it all. They are all different and have really unique colors. For some basics I like papertrey, lawn Fawn and TE. I’m a bit of a carsick hoarder.

I don’t like the way they are doing prizes. I can’t do the event live this weekend and I don’t like how you have to be present to win. People are in different time zones or not able to participate live. I also don’t like when you have to comment on a post to win. I might not see it in time. Just put our names in a basket, do a drawing and let us know if we won. It’s fair and we all signed up and paid for it. I don’t like this method.

I liked Mindy's class but I wish she taught live because she is a great instructor. I like to think of myself as a fast crafter but I could barely keep up with her class.
The galaxy background was really pretty and I can't wait to try this technique on other cards.
