The craft room has still not actually ever gotten put all the way back together. I am wondering if my serenity plan for the weekend should be to FINALLY, REALLY, ALL the WAY do that, BEFORE C&9th Summer Camp! I'm going to take inspiration from you Shakti and try to get my room into shape before C9 Summer Camp. It sure would be nice to have everything in its place before starting on homework. I ordered a couple more organizational things that should be delivered on Friday, so I'm slowly getting things figured out. Sweet! We can be "accountabili-buddies" here!

Good morning, team.
Spending day with family, but have a hotel room to myself. I had considered bringing a scrappy go-bag, but decided against it. Now I wish I had. Feeling the need to centre myself, and over the last few years, creativity with paper has been an important part of that process.

Can you take some photos or do some journaling to use later? Search Pinterest or FB or the like for layout ideas to save? Make origami out of the paper in the note pad in your hotel room?

It's a drab day over here but I got out for a walk. I'm sore from too much sitting and too much looking down. It makes it challenging to relax and craft! I'm waiting on a delivery so I can print out labels for the red white and blue postcards. I would really love to get them labeled and photographed and out the door so I can move onto something else... Annoyed that I didn't notice I was low on labels. Somehow even one day delivery is too slow for me. I found a Simple Stories 6x8 paper pad at the crafty thrift shop when I dropped off something today. I might try and Sheetload it right away. Simple Vintage Life in Bloom. It looks like it only came out last year. $1.09 score

Nice find, @joblackman! Hope granduation is grand, grammadee ! Oh, things are such a mess here now! I am sort of still working on the Online Card Class Extraordinary Embossing Folders. I am sort of planning/collecting materials for my wee weekend mini-album. I am realizing exactly what chaos the craft room holds. I have moved my husbands big fancy Brother P-Touch into the craft room. Spoke with my recruiter/friend/advisor who advocated now for putting the three-week job on my résumé when I SWEAR that in April he recommended omitting it! He did say to get references in order and maybe even ask for letters of recommendation -- I didn't think anyone did that anymore. That did give me a concrete to-do list, which is better than feeling helpless to affect my destiny for days, but who's really reading my emails and message on Friday afternoon of a three-day weekend?! The Wednesday interview is not yet actually scheduled. I was approached by talent acquisition at another local company today, so MAYBE I will find a job eventually, even if this one falls through.

Is it just me or is it really quiet on the boards these days? Admittedly I haven't checked the sharing thread in a while. It's always busy there, thanks to Linda and grammadee

Greeting from your Team Needer!
See what I did there?
My mom is on a ship in the Aegean Sea. My DH is on a boat in the Sea of Cortez. DK left to drive through one of the most confusing highway interchanges known to visit a friend. Well, I think they improved it somewhat recently, but this was a stretch of highway where the signage at one point told you you were going three different directions at the same time. But I'm sure they'll be fine!!
I am a little lonely and little down about the job search.
I'm sort of alternately stewing and trying to dig my way to the bottom of the bin in the room craft that everything gets dumped into when I want it to look tidy. Little bits of actually crafting here and there.

Hello Team!
I just finished stuffing the last of the copied pages into my dgd's albums. I now need to put together a cover page. I did one with her grad photo on it, but that will go on the OUTside of the cover. This page needs to be the first one in the book. I don't have the photo I want to use, but plan to text her mom to ask for it.
Later, I plan to head to town to a dgs's baseball tourney.

Very slow start to the day. It's a bit overcast and drizzly. Oh! While typing this a deer walked by the house with a new doe. I hadn't seen a baby in person yet. Awwww. SOOO, so cute! Okay sorry for the tangent. We had planned to go to some garage sales (the whole town is having a coordinated garage sale this weekend, complete with maps & lists of houses participating) but DW woke up not feeling great so I think instead I will have some time in the craft room. I have a drawer unit to go into a Kallax cube that I got to organize childhood photos/memorabilia. So that is something I could do today. I also had delivered a large pile of landscape oriented sleeves that I'm going to use for die storage. It was the last thing I needed to start that organizing process. So a little project and a big project to be tackled. I think I will start with the small one so I can at least get something completed today. I think I'm going to put some music on and start at it. Anyone else like working with music, or prefer tv/movie or silence? I like all of them - just depends on my mood.

When I'm working (a job) from home, I actually listen to sports talk radio. Started during lockdown, when dh, hard of hearing and with a voice that carries well, was also working from home.
I generally craft in silence.
Today I tried to organize in silence and while listening to crafting videos. I feel like TV would probably work better, but I'd have to figure how to stream on the computer or something.
DK just called; only took 45 minutes to get to the friend's house, didn't think the interchange was all that bad, leaving for home now.

I'm sort of alternately stewing and trying to dig my way to the bottom of the bin in the room craft that everything gets dumped into when I want it to look tidy. Little bits of actually crafting here and there. Oh boy, a crafty doom box! I've heard that's what people are calling the boxes that result from a good old fashioned stash and dash. Good luck with that. I hope it's helping settle you, or at least serves as a distraction. So a little project and a big project to be tackled. I think I will start with the small one so I can at least get something completed today. I think I'm going to put some music on and start at it. Anyone else like working with music, or prefer tv/movie or silence? I like all of them - just depends on my mood. Sounds like a good way to spend a day. It's nice to get something all the way done. Hope your DW is feeling better soon. I have been in a lot of silence this weekend, but I prefer chit chat, some kind of company to distract my brain and get me to settle. It's usually YouTube videos because actual movies are too engrossing (no crafting gets done) and TV has too many annoying ads. And music isn't my first choice most of the time even though I enjoy it - I don't have a good ad-free music option right now and so I'm out of the habit of listening. I should listen to an audiobook, but I don't usually. I tend to audiobook while out of the house walking or on the bus, but it's by far the smartest choice for me while crafting. Why don't we do the things we know are good for us? That's my big question of the day. I got all of this week's Hummels sold, all went for pretty cheap except one. The one that got bid up to a decent price was the same one I had to cancel last time because the winner ghosted me and didn't pay. And once again, it's the only one that hasn't been paid for. The money for one called "Be Patient" just came through... but "Pretzel Girl" is still waiting. I'm hoping it's just the busy long weekend and they'll follow through soon.

Good job on the Hummels, joblackford! Where are my manners?! I, too, hope your DW is on the mend in a jiffy, Ryann, and that your projects go swimmingly. I did pretty well with my doom box. Found a missing stamp and a few free-floating dies. Not the cherry blossom I was looking for and one that I haven't yet determined where it belongs. Put on the big-girl pants and tossed some scraps and my over-hoarded scratch paper and chipboard. Labeled lots of things. Returned a few things to their homes. Adding some to purgatory and others to the bin to go back into the round robin. I feel like everything looks worse right now, but I have tomorrow (and, really, much of Tuesday if I choose to take it), and I think the end is in sight. DK says the interchange is FINE, as long as you completely ignore the signage and only pay attention to your GPS. I may not have driven that route since I got GPS, so that explains that.

The Doom Box has left the building! Well, no, it's empty and in DS's room. Now it's possible that the room should now be called the Doom Room, since DK and I are both using it to sort/stage/store miscellany. But it's not in the craft room anymore! There's a smaller cardboard box/tray with what's left of the doom box contents and stuff on the floor; it seemed important to get it out of the room and remove the temptation of it....

Good Monday morning, everyone. I have this next five days here at home with a couple of to-do lists--one scrappy and the other for everything else--to accomplish before I leave for first ten days in June.
On my scrappy list: last tweaks for dgd's album, put together one page and a bunch of cards, pack a go-bag.
Other: clean house, do laundry and pack for 2 formal days & 8 casual with family, and finish planting the garden.

Hopefully it didn't drive you totally around the twist. Hope the weather cooperates with your garden plans. We have family coming into town at the end of the week. I guess I had better make a list of things I will wish I could be doing when they're here and do them while I have the house to myself 12 hours a day. My husband is pushing hard to get FIL's deck built before everyone arrives. That's FIL's goal, but he doesn't make it easy... yesterday FIL said he had clamped a post that needed to stay straight and level while hubby laid out a railing, but he didn't actually clamp it to anything, he just put a clamp on it. doh. Hubby is so done. Just say no to doom boxes Shakti! My decluttering teacher (Dana K White) talks a lot about 'take it there now' - not making piles, not setting it down to deal with later, but just taking what you can hold in your hands, going to the place where you would look for it first, and putting it all the way away. Then it's done and when life (or brain) interrupts, you've actually made progress. Her voice lives in my head now, and sometimes it actually works!

This Doom Box started in January when the cabinets were swapped out, so there were things that didn't have a place yet. But it should have been vanquished long before now. Although "take it there now" doesn't work for the undecideds.

Did you manage without a crafty go bag this weekend? Hopefully it didn't drive you totally around the twist. There was absolutely no time for crafting--or even catching my breath, really--this past weekend. I was staying alone in a hotel, but between funeral related family gatherings/events and learning the eulogy so I could deliver it properly, and driving, there was not any time. The go bag will be for the days I am in BC (June 5th to 10th). There is a grad in there, but I think there will be more time for me to fill on my own.

joblackford Shakti DW is feeling better today - thank you. She even made us veggie ramen for lunch today! grammadee I've very sorry for your loss. I hope you get time to catch your breath after your busy weekend and before the busy-ness of the next trip starts. My small project from yesterday was stalled before I could get started. The two stacked drawer units don't fit into the space allotted. They just barely don't fit. I'm going to try shaving down the plastic feet of one of the units with a metal file. That *should* do the trick?! That reminds me, I need to find and buy a metal file... I did some FaceTime crafting with a friend today. Got a good start on the summer cards I'll need for the upcoming 2peas swap. The sign up is still open if anyone is interested... ETA: and yay! for vanquished Doom Boxes!

Safe and happy travels, grammadee ! Glad DW is on the mend, but sorry for the organizing project snag, Ryann . FIL sounds like a nightmare, joblackford . Hope everything is squared away and you've gotten your crafting in before the hordes arrive. The purgatory box is now full and there are also many things already known to be on the way out that need to be photographed and listed in the appropriate B/S/T FB groups. Recycled some things. Trashed a few things. Repatriated all found stamps and dies with their sets. Tidied the "new" bin, A little surprised to discover that I am hoarding cutting plates. I think it's due to a reluctance to dump them into landfill. joblackford , I think you are far more conscientious than I about sustainability in crafting...how do you deal with worn out die cutting plates? EtA: I am appalled at how poorly local media is covering the NHL playoffs now that the Bruins are out. Granted, I haven't had sports radio on as much as usual, but the Globe covered WPHL playoffs more than they seem to be covering NHL hockey now. grammadee, are the Oilers down 2 games to 1 or...?

Good Tuesday morning. My new stove arrives today!!! I am excited to... boil eggs LOL. I have an air fryer, an electric skillet, a portable oven, a toaster oven. Dh has a barbecue and a couple of electric grills. But I miss being able to just grab a small pot or pan and just start cooking.
I have been working through my list of cards that need making. Have been trying out some of the techniques from the Online Card Classes Embossing videos. And some of my gnome add-on dies. So each card is taking longer than it might otherwise. Will share them all here as a group when I finish.
Got some seeds into the garden yesterday. Depending on when the guys arrive with the stove, I may get out there again later to pop in some more. And Dh set up the water barrel. It is filled with cold well water, but warming in the sun, waiting for me to get out there to set in my bedding plants. That will probably be tomorrow.
PS. I reported & deleted the content from the post just above mine. Hope you weren't impatiently waiting for a chance to earn money from YouTube...

Hurray for new stoves and gardening!! And this: There a few things still out of place, mostly a brochure for the mill museum in Minneapolis and a couple cards from a class 20 years ago or so: I already cut up the blue one and reused it as card stock. Not sure what I'll do with the black one. Interestingly, I still like snowflakes and Asian art motifs. I've also decided that since both myself and DK are using DS's old bedroom as a doom room, it's the Doom Doom Room. Now off to email a couple résumés.

They go in the trash with a shrug and a sad face. I think most of mine have ended up cracking - at that point I can't keep using them. I have had some that I kept thinking they would be backups but most got so warped and cut into that they were really awful to use. I don't have any ideas for clever reuse or recycling Your room looks great!!

Maybe, since my craft space is also my work@home space, actually tidying the crafting sprawl and making it spacious again will bring on good employment karmic rewards.
