Good Sunday morning. We will be off to a baseball game soon. Not sure what’s happening after that. Day looks to be clear and sunny, starting to feel like summer. How lovely! Hope you have/had a great day. Clear and sunny is my favorite! I just picked up a teak garden lounge chair from Buy Nothing - a neighbor who is moving. It should be very pleasant to relax and read on when the summer weather shows up. We got to look through her empty bungalow, a cousin of our house, just a few years older and a bit fancier. I’m suffering from storage envy! Her layout is different and has so many great spots to put things away, and some fun little reading nooks and snugs and cozies. I started a new crochet blanket to pass the time while family is visiting, even though I haven’t quite finished the previous one. So glad to have a chance to earn some points and keep my hands busy while everyone is chatting.

And for more all about ME! The work week is hours old. I'm quite sure that when someone says the earliest you'll hear about job is next week, it is not at all reasonable to expect to hear before, really, sometime Tuesday, right? Sure. Easy enough to SAY!
I've already finished my June SLoC. I suppose it's time to tally up those May points....

I have a little time to myself this morning before family stuff kicks in but the wind is so wild today that it's distracting me. I keep looking outside to see if it's broken our old gate or if the neighbor's tree that looms over our backyard looks solid. I don't know if I could handle living in a place with proper/regular storms and winds. These gusts aren't even that bad but I keep hearing things blowing around in the nearby yards and alleys. Anyway, it's sunny I already did my workout My washing will dry very quickly on the line and the light rain forecast keeps getting delayed so maybe it won't actually show up. I have a piece of watercolor paper taped up to do some fun background washes on before I go out, so I'll be able to doodle on them tomorrow I'm glad you're channeling a bit of that nail-biting-waiting energy into crafting Shakti. I haven't printed out the sketch yet, but it looks like a pretty easy one that will be fun to play with.

Sorry it was not good news, Shakti. The boys were in school & ds and ddil busy, so I drove into town to print photos. Met with 18 yr old dgd for brunch. Then headed over to the next town for a short visit with my other ds’s family. That ddil took me to M’s where I picked up a few sheets of cs and a few stickers. Back at the ranch for supper, then taking 10 yr old to lacrosse practice.

Happy Hump Day, Team!
In one of those "...door, ...window," scenarios yesterday, as I was inappropriately joking with DK about having lost my will to live, I got a LinkedIn invite from a new recruiter, which I accepted. Then got a call from one of his colleagues with whom I'd spoken briefly around the time I started the very brief job. Each of them has a role they'd like to submit me for. Have a Teams interview with the one that's really too far a commute today at 11. The one that's a beautiful commute I haven't gotten a status update yet. Also heard from a company I spoke with last week that's really, REALLY further than I'd like to commute that they would like to move me onto the next round, but they are moving very slowly. So, my will to live is perking up a little.
Have time to finish the SLoC I started this morning, still working through that Carta Bella 6x6 pad before I have to start really getting ready for the interview.
Hope everyone else is having a good week!

Visiting friendly trolls sounds fun, joblackford. I think they must be friends to gnomes LOL Good luck with your door/window adventure, Shakti, but I am not sure including “open window” in a sentence about “losing the will to live” is a good idea… I am in my hotel in the southern interior of BC. Have unpacked my GO bag, but done nothing with my scrappy supplies. Not feeling much creativity at the moment, but I think I will be happy to have my stuff to play with early in the morning…. Sadly there is no desk in my room, just a round table. But there are two big beds, so lots of room to spread out papers on one of them.

Good morning, team. I played with paper this morning!
Actually finished four pages in my hotel room, and just need to add a couple of details for two more.
If you haven’t, already, check out the June Double Stuff Weekend thread. Prompts dropped in this morning. I am claiming points for creating my page kit, using a few items from it, and for taking on the sketch. I know, I know, I just get “normal” points for doing that today, but not sure how much time I will have over the weekend. Hope to post some pages tomorrow.

And thanks for the reminder I have most of the day to myself today. I need it. I'm so peopled-out! Hubby and his dad didn't kill each other doing work on the house yesterday, just some sharp words spoken here and there (par for the course, tbh). And bonus for me, I don't have to stand on the roof and help my husband remove a large piece of rotted timber. His dad was a far better candidate to help, being taller, stronger, and also adept with tools in a way I am not. I'm also afraid of heights and ladders. I painted some watercolor washes today and I'm looking forward to doodling over them. The little ones I did the other day look pretty good now that I see them with fresh eyes, so I should start turning them into cards. How are you doing today Shakti? Did you get some crafty time in this morning?

I started my summer camp die cutting this morning. I have one and a half (that is one fully planned and one partially) SLoC projects to continue to work down that freebie paper pad, but I thought if I could save that for tomorrow, since it will result in finished items, that would be better.
Interviewer from yesterday is arranging to bring me on site for an interview next week. Other recruiter at that firm with the role closer to home is trying to prod his client to hurry up. Feeling pretty zen about things today....

Today starts Double Stuff Weekend Double the points for all things scrappy!
I had time to scrap this morning, but the papers and supplies I brought go better with photos on my camera and phone than the printed ones I brought with me. Spent about an hour doing some fussy cutting, but that’s about all I can do for the team today I think. Sorry.
After a morning scrapping yesterday, spent the remainder of the day with family. The grad is this evening, starting with supper at 4:00pm.

So, I might have to give up on the PP pad I'm working through. I have 4 sheets left that I think I want to use, but whenever I start looking for a sketch, I start thinking about my NEW SB.C freebie 6x6 pad. It's Pink & Main's Beach Babe and I am really looking forward to making fun and happy birthday Cards for Cubs with it. But between now and next year's Cards for Cubs drive is the Summer (and Autumn!) Pea Exchange, CardTober, and Yuletide. So, killing that paper pad making "thinking of you" types of Cards for Kindness was a noble endeavor, but unless a 4 6x6 PP sketch knocks my socks off, I'm going to table it for a bit. I'm also inundating my friend who's struggling with cards. I've starting setting aside one from each sheet load for her. I gave her one at lunch last week and mailed one this week.
I have a 12x12 Summer-themed paper pack from the local CK event here last fall. I already chose 2 triples and a double from it, so I should be looking for sketches for those instead!

good way to decompress, joblackford. We had a second ceremony this morning. The grad, her sisters, and a couple of friends are in the pool now at our hotel, after a pizza lunch. Planning to watch the REAL Stanley cup finals this evening. Everyone—except the grad— is heading home tomorrow morning. My fight is not til Monday. I plan to take a bus to WM when they open tomorrow, and print photos. If I am awake early, I plan to cobble together some pages. Then when I come back with printed photos I can just attach them.

I turned my C&9 shopping time into sampling and experimenting time. I made a cheat sheet of sentiments that are the right width and tone for the “happymarks” I’m working on (and removed a couple of sentiment sets from my shopping cart when I saw I have similar phrases already) and then I learned how to make a DIY turnabout stamp with smaller images.
I should go and work on last month’s photos now. That’s what I had put on my to do list for today.
Did I tell you I had to explain/demo die cutting for my FIL? And then show him what my finished cards look like and why I make them. And then he told me I should sell them! and I had to point out that I had a shop for 7 years… then he agreed that selling cards was a pretty bad business idea, like why would anyone think that would work? 🤪 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Sounds like the guy was trying to find a way to agree with you, joblackford, no matter what you said? Too funny. Shakti we watched the game in a sports bar. Not fun to see the Oilers throw everything they had unsuccessfully at that goalie on a hot streak. But it was cool to hear the locals cheering for Edmonton, after the Oilers took THEIR team out of the playoffs. I spent most of the day on my own. Printed some pics and actually put together some pages for Double Stuff Weekend. Flying back to Alberta tomorrow.

Safe travels!
I didn't do any of the special challenges (and really need to go tell Aussie Meg how impressed I am that she did all three in one project!), but I did have a productive weekend. I completed two SLoCs (one for donation, shared; the other for Pea swap, not shared). I remade my Pea birthday cards onto new card fronts (seemed like time, since my half-birthday passed Friday), collected them along with a bunch of SLoCs/kit birthday and thinking of you type cards and packaged them up to go to Cards for Kindness. I reorganized my donation cards "stuff" (cards to be remade, free charity cards to be made denotable to BSTS, Cards for Cubs, etc) in a way I think might be more workable moving forward. While I was in the closet mucking about with all that I found what's left of the stash of papers, cards bases, stickers, etc from ancient card kits and things that I swore I would somehow make into donation cards. I think I've done that with a LOT of it and that what is left I'm ready to donate, now that I've found the crafty thrift store in the area. I posted a new RAK. I have ideas/plans for two more SLoCs. I shopped the C&9th warehouse sale. I finished the homework for Summer Camp (or as much of it as I plan to do).
The job I am interviewing for is a longish highway commute, which they would prefer me to undertake on the higher traffic days (Tues/Wed/Thurs). I have heard from reliable sources that the culture is pretty toxic and the CEO is a jerk (not surprising as those two things often go hand in hand). But I will go to the interview anyway. I'm not sure what my other two required job search activities this week will be. The barrel is seeming pretty empty, but then, this interview seems like scraping the bottom of it, so that makes sense too. Yes, I'm feeling really, really down about my job search.
So I'm heading back into the craft room for a bit while it's still DS weekend....
EtA: Nope. That last sheetload from that pad is NOT going to work. One of the remaining papers is just that ugly. Kind of wished I'd found a way to use the other earlier, but it doesn't seem like it's going to work now. C'est la vie....

Oh boy, I should probably do some reorganization of my finished cards and my donation-remake bin too! I think it's pretty out of control, and I don't have a great system for grouping cards by who they are going to, when, what more they need, etc. I like making the cards and then I just stash them away... I might have to declare bankruptcy on some of the Christmas cards I have saved to remake. I got a bit overloaded taking on other people's extras and a bunch of random sized cards and it became more of a chore. That sounds like a good project for today. Sorry you're scraping the bottom of the barrel today, job-wise (and free-paper-pad-wise) Shakti Jerk bosses and toxic workplaces definitely seem to go together

Actually, I may have found an Altenew piece that will work with the paper I like. Which is funny because I have sworn off Altenew papers for any future consideration. I bought quite a few cheap when I was starting out and had very little but find them sort of weird to work with. Of course, now that I've decided to try again, I've misplaced the other two sheets from the original pad and one of the pieces I cut this morning while playing with it. That's ok. I think I'm done crafting for the day. I have a sheetload of 9 cards cut and a sheetload of 12 cards completed. The number of different answers I've come up with today for how many additional cards I need for the card exchange with 23 participants (and I don't send myself a card) is RIDICULOUS! I think it's one, but I've had it as high as three!
