I work from home full-time in a job that is quite time-consuming and leaves me precious little time for crafting during the work week. So I'm mostly a weekend scrapper who is looking forward to retirement in a few years. I scrapbook, stamp, make cards, watercolor, sew (simple things currently but I want to work up to more complex projects like quilting), and cross-stitch. I also love to bake. I am married with 3 adult kids, one of whom is currently living at home with us while he works on getting "launched" (college grad, getting 1st job & apartment, etc.). I love to watch NHL hockey, MLB (baseball), & NCAA (college) football, with the occasional other sports thrown in (World Cup & pro soccer, rugby, Olympics (various events), & rowing). DH watches some but not all of those with me & he occasionally also will watch basketball (which bores me to tears and I just.can't.watch.it. LOL). We love to watch movies and various streaming series' - currently enjoying Shogun on Hulu. Like kmage, I am also looking forward to the new season of Bridgerton! We are also big readers in my household, and I always have a book or 3 going. Looking forward to chatting and crafting this quarter!

Welcome, teammates! Thank you all your empathy! I am really interested in this discussion about scrapping travel. My mom and I were in the Naples/Amalfi area for a week with a group, staying in Sorrento and day tripping from there. I asked my mom for her favorite photos from the trip, two or three per day -- she sent 23! I didn't check my camera before traveling and the internal battery that keeps the date and time set was dead, so mine are all mixed up and not even all together in my photo gallery on my computer. She's also a better photographer with a better camera, so I'll probably only add my own pics if I think she missed something. I got two 6x8 albums, one of each of us, and this CS kit link with a few extra papers and embellishments, which is really appropriate for where we were. I was starting to worry that the small format would be too limiting, but from the discussion, it sounds like it should be fine.

Good morning, Team! Don't forget that this upcoming Friday to Monday are worth DOUBLE POINTS for anything we do! I have not scrapped anything since Monday morning, but hoping to get at least a LO or a couple of cards done over the weekend. As for travel scrapping, I have my Florida trip to complete. I have a full tub of travel scrappy supplies due to ordering every collection available for a couple of years. And another tub of Disney stuff. When I was going on a cruise every year or two with friends, I journaled every evening and after my first attempt at scrapping a trip, I actually journaled on one side of cards so I could use them directly on the pages later. The last couple of trips, I have relied on text messages and iPhone location & date info to keep my photos organized. Hoping you continue to make progress on the job front and keep your positive attitude, Shakti. I always take--and then print--way too many photos. I loved snapping the different angles of buildings and the cobbled streets and mpsaic tiled floors in Europe. Looking at the photos now, I have no idea which was taken where. If you are using 6x8 albums, all you really need are a couple of photos per two page LO, so you should be good. If one of you took pic's of the people and one took pic's of the surroundings, that might help you coordinate. If in doubt, Google the towns you visited and the landmarks will pop up. Have a great Thursday!

Shakti , I love the kit you posted. It reminds me of this photo. Capri/Sorrento was one of my favorite stops on our Med cruise a few years ago! I'd go back in a heartbeat. Capri Ceramic by Wendy M, on Flickr

Sorry to hear about your job issues, I hope you find something that is above your expectations and fits perfectly Shakti Let's see, I am divorced and have a son from that marriage, he is now 28!! He is a chef and loves it. The funny part of that is that he was such a picky eater! In 9th grade he said he wanted to be a chef. WHAT!?! He says he really enjoyed cooking with my mom (she died at the age of 58 and my DS was 13 at the time). She was his inspiration. I live with my SO going on 13 years now. He as a daughter who is now my bonus kid. She will be 19 this year. She is a freshman in college and comes home more than she is not home. Haven't missed her yet! We are going to start a big project, which is remodeling the bathroom. Tearing everything out and replacing it all. Changing the tub for a shower, new vanity and sink, new drywall and insulation, new ceiling, new flooring, and new lighting. The only thing we are keeping is the toilet, that is newer as we bought that when we moved in 9 years ago. We are waiting for the shower to get here and then we can start, that should be next week! I did many crafts and scrapbooks with my mom. When she passed away, I have had a really hard time getting back into that so that is why I mostly do cards and have just started junk journaling. My dad passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve, he just turned 80 and we (my sister and I), just spent time with him in November for his birthday. He had a massive heart attack. This has been a very rough road these past few months and I am trying to get out of the depression by hopefully getting into crafting. I don't know, we will see. I work full time, the same place for 24 years in June.

Good luck with your job search, Shakti. (((((HUGS)))), scrappert. Losing a parent is hard. Especially in the holiday season. My dfil and my dd's dfil both passed away in the days just after Christmas, different years. And it casts a whole new shade now on the season. Can you find peace in scrapbooking happy times with him? Or do you want to craft about something completely different. And good luck with your bathroom reno. Are you going to do it yourselves? Or get a contractor? Love that ceramic sign, scrappinwithoutpeas. Hoping you can squeeze in a bit of crafting to your busy life. Who is your NHL team? My Oilers seem to have cooled off right now. Hoping for another hot streak leading into the playoffs. Anyone planning to snap up some double points this weekend? I am hoping to work on a two pager this morning. I have the photos out, have begun the search for papers that will work with them, and have printed some journaling. As usual, I am overthinking the whole thing. My preferred way to scrap is to do a little every day and in that case my crafty left brain perks and it all seems to flow smoothly. But my stupid right brain has to get involved if I come back after having stepped away for a few days. Thinking makes the creative process SOOOO SLOOOOW...

grammadee, my team is the Washington Capitals (for better or worse, LOL) - on the plus side, they are playing better than they were earlier in the season, but now they're running hot and cold -- causing me a lot of angst as a fan! They're fighting for a playoff spot and they need every point they can get. As an Oilers fan, you get the pleasure of watching Connor McDavid's incredible goal-scoring career, and I get to watch Ovi's incredible goal-scoring career - they're both future Hall-of-Famers for sure. (And as Caps fans like to say, "we're watching the other Connor Mc's career rise" (Connor McMichael) -- or as some fans would say: "the better Connor Mc" LOL - Ours hasn't done much damage on the score sheet lately though.)) As for the ceramic pic from Capri, I did get some incredible photos that day. None of them are scrapped yet (grrr...not enough time). I hope to rectify that soon, but not sure if I'll get to it this quarter.

Have a great Thursday! When I worked on scrapbooks from living in Japan years ago all the temple/garden/statues photos got mixed up and besides that I often didn’t know the name of the places I snapped pictures of. I made some pages that were just photo mosaics of pretty scenes and details without worrying where they were taken or when. It’s a nice filler to have a couple of “impressions” pages. Thanks for pointing out the double points weekend. I guess it’s a good thing I just finished a little stack of cards I started earlier in the week. And I have plans to do some photo inventory management this weekend. I need to transfer photos from last month and favorite the good stuff for my year book.

my team is the Washington Capitals (for better or worse, LOL) My dgs waffles between the Oilers and the Caps. His dad is training in Washington DC this year, so on visits to see Dad, he got to attend a live Nat's game last fall and a live Cap's game in November. He was quite enthralled with "Ovi". When asked which team is his fav he names either the Oilers or the Caps, depending on which won the most recent game LOL.

I’ve never been able to get into hockey. And haven’t followed basketball in decades. Which is a little sad, since it’s back to trying times for baseball and football fans here in New England while the Celtics and Bruins are riding high.
EtA: I only got one of that scrapbooking kit. I figured each 12x12 background paper would make 2 6x8 backgrounds plus leave a 12x4 strip for embellishing and photo mats. I did get a few extra papers, but I'm not sure I did end up with enough. The really large print with the lemons in the corner I don't think I can use per the instructions because my pages are too small.
I'm pretty sure I want to take the corner with that large lemon from both sheets to be the cover page or single first page or whatever you call that. The other edge, which the instructions use as a wide border for a solid background page, I think I would use where the instructions use a whole sheet of that paper for a background. But I'm afraid to cut it that way because I can't get any more of it.
I feel like I need to remember my team name....

I'm crashing the party late! Thanks for leading Shakti . I'm glad to be here - we are moving - 3 weeks to possession - so life is uncomfortably busy but working towards a happy ending so I don't deserve any sympathy! But I might be more scarce and scrapping less for the next while, that's for sure. My favorite color is purple My new house has 2 purple bedrooms. It is NOT my favourite colour but I am learning more to enjoy it (the recent purple thickers help) and we're leaving the bedrooms as is for now. My favourite colour is any shade of aqua/teal. Always has been. I will most likely be rewatching Bridgerton That's my plan too - get my new scraproom set up (kitchen first, then scrapbook room!), and rewatch before May 16! That's an unrealistic schedule, so then the temptation will be to watch the new season right away... looking to now be tested for Autism myself DH and I talk about this a lot. We are quirky/nerdy/awkward ourselves. DS is on the high end of the autism spectrum. DD is totally ADD. I see a lot of their issues in myself, but are they "issues" if they don't cause us disability? Even if I'm a high masker, I feel that the degree to which I'd have to unmask to GET a diagnosis isn't worth it since there is nothing to change really! I have NEVER actually completed a scrapbook -- EVER! Other than my 6x8 december dailies, I have never "finished" an album, but in the past 4 months I've changed my approach to scrapbooking: I scrapbook segments (like DD's dance season in 2021) fully before moving on to another topic, and this gives me a HUGE sense of completing something! We did a day trip to IKEA yesterday to pick up a Kallax My favourite things in my scraproom come from Ikea - the Kallax, the Alex drawers, my wall organizer (shelves and baskets, mean for closet org). I'm not convinced Ikea is the best, but it is "one stop shopping", like Amazon. I'm going to try to set a few challenges today but I'm guessing the list is pretty long by this point! I'm also hoping to take advantage of double points this weekend - I spent 3 hours yesterday so I've got a start!

kitbop part of the reason to test myself is a sense of belonging. Then there is the sense of relief of yup that is why I struggled here as a kid and here as an adult. The biggest part is because a year ago I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and they are really looking into the connection between Autism and EDS. Your brain is surrounded by connective tissues and RDS affects connective tissues. There could be huge strides in not only diagnosis, especially for girls who are harder to diagnose, but this could help with therapy coverage and then diagnosis of EDS. Because of the multitude of disabilities EDS has, the earlier the DX the better. I also look back at the kids Oat and PT and realize how wrong they were because now I know EDS is involved and why OT and PT made things worse.

The biggest part is because a year ago I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and they are really looking into the connection between Autism and EDS That is super interesting because DS (on the spectrum) worked with OT in Kindergarten and she said he has super lax finger/thumb ligaments and that's why he has trouble writing. He to this day writes with straight lines and avoids curves (like he always writes his name, Matthew in capital letters so that he doesn't have to do the curves of the a,h and e. So I definitely see connective tissue differences there...

Good morning, Team! Hoping some of the rest of you get to squeeze in some scrappy time this weekend. And looking forward to seeing your challenges posted, kitbop and any other team members who have more to add before tomorrow evening.
You ladies have so many things on the go. With no job and no kids to care for or ferry around, I *SHOULD* be able to carve time to scrap at will, but somehow that doesn't always work. I managed this morning to finish the two pager that has been clogging up my desk and my brain for a few days. And I used your favourite colour, scrappert !

People always think that in the future they'll have more free time - it's a well known fallacy - but I really think we all have a set level of busyness and energy that carries us through our lives at a certain pace. I can't believe all the things some/many people juggle. I just couldn't do it, which I guess is why I'm not doing it - all my life choices lead me to a pretty un-busy schedule. This weekend, as usual, I don't have much that I have to do, but quite a few things I want to or feel like I should do. I have a new crochet project to start - always the hardest part, getting started. Once I have the first few rows done I can work mindlessly, but at the beginning I have to make decisions, count, and learn a new pattern - ugh! The only way out is through. The weather isn't bad, but not nice enough to make me want to do some gardening. I just finished a book and want to spend a little time tomorrow reading another, but that doesn't earn me any points! Better make another Sheetload!

Happy Sunday, team!
I managed to put together a fairly quick LO this morning, and have another one with some grit paste drying on it sitting on my counter. Trying to get my hockey pages finished before we are too far into spring and summer photos to scrap. Have three more dgk's hockey adventures to scrap. I find it is easiest if I stick to one theme until I lose interest in it. I don't clean anything up when a LO is finished, and that means there are always scraps and stickers and diecuts lying around just ready to be grabbed up and used on the next project.
Once the hockey pages are done I hope to be scrapping travel LO's. One ddil has shared photos of their March/April road trip to Phoenix, and another has promised pic's of their March trip to Hawaii. When I get those printed I can put them with my own February Florida trip, so that should give my travel bin a workout.

Good morning, team! Happy Eclipse and last day of April Double Stuff Weekend! Sounds like many of us had time to get crafty. Hurray! I just put together some Club Scrap cards, including some nice masculine birthday cards -- a nice change of pace from my spring blossoms extravaganza Saturday and Sunday. I thought I had posted in this thread that I share my cards in the sharing thread over in cardmaking, but now I don't see it. Here's the link to my cards from the weekend. I'll post the CS cards there later. Now I'll take some adulting time, but I hope to do a little tidying and organizing in the craft room later in the day for a few more double points. Also, I think this will be the third or so partial eclipse of my lifetime. Is it just me or does the sunlight have a strange quality to it even before you start to see any shadowy stuff?

Good morning team! Looks like lots of creativity over the Double Stuff weekend. Hope you had a good time, and if you are back at work this morning that you are thinking about how you can squeeze in a bit of crafty time into your evenings or days off this week. Now that I STARTED scrapping after a break of a few days, it is coming much more easily to me. I put together a couple of quick pages today with some pic's my dgk's had sent me with very little context. And shared them along with the pages I finished last night. I took some time to leave some love on the GS Sharing thread and Flickr. Heading over to the Cardmaking sharing thread to oggle your cards, Shakti, along with the other creations that have landed there recently.

Hi all! I’m no where near the totality path, and with stormy weather, so it will be overcast all day here.
I started reorganizing my craft room once the furniture was put into place. After getting it mostly done, I had an idea I want to try, which means culling my stash a bit more to have it fit with one less bookcase in the room. I’m FaceTime crafting with a friend back in CA soon, so I will wait until tomorrow before I start switching furniture around again. I think I see a light at the end of the organizing tunnel!

I am at work and just peeked out the window during the eclipse. I am at 90% so it just looked eerie, but still sunny. Pretty cool. I will see all the pictures tonight on TV I am sure!

I was calling the eclipse The Dimmening, because we were only going to get a 20% bite taken out of the sun, but the clouds were so socked in I actually had to use a star map app to check where the sun might be in the sky if only we could see it! There was no noticeable difference in the light levels of the grey drabbies before during or after the eclipse. Never mind. I watched it on NASA’s YT channel and I have seen it IRL a couple of times. Very eerie, and I always wonder how ancient people must’ve reacted with no warning or explanation. Understandable that they might’ve seen it as a bad omen or started looking around for the witches who caused it or whatever.
I finished off a good stack of scrap cards today so I’ll get those up in the sharing thread. They’re nothing exciting, but I’m proud of myself for taking a photo of each one as I got it done so they’re all ready to be shared.

Good morning, Team! How is everyone doing this sunny Tuesday? Shakti how goes the job search? (or the transition to being stay at home?) I have a dr appointment soon so need to get ready to drive to town. But I finished a LO this morning. Scrapping every day and keeping within the same theme has definitely made this easier. Can't share this one cuz it's the sample for this upcoming Sketchy Saturday challenge. What helps you feel productive--or creative--in the craft room?

Thanks for asking, grammadee. It's going slowly and I definitely am feeling anxious. I do have an interview being set up for early next week with a really, really huge company I'm just sure about (though several ex-colleagues are very happy there). Just yesterday got a rejection from a company I was in-process with before the short-lived job. That didn't feel good! Tried to do a bit of crafting this morning but ended up chasing my tail a bit. Might go try to get a donation together for Sending Smiles to Seniors or Cards for Kindness. I'm trying to do a donation at least quarterly, but I could probably do more -- and get more points ! I'll be shipping one off to the Altenew's parents' day drive later today. When I also pick up my prints from CVS for this weekend's scrapbook project! Part of the wall I hit this morning is that there are just TOO MANY cards here already. How often do folks here send those sort of "thinking of you in this difficult time" sort of cards? And are those the kind of thinking of you cards the charities are looking for?

And are those the kind of thinking of you cards the charities are looking for? I ended up reworking a bunch of those types of cards to make them lean more toward encouragement for Cards for Cubs. So it might say on the outside "heard you're in a jam" with a jam jar (because puns!). On the inside I added a stamped sentiment that says "Hang in there" etc. To me at least, that took the card from "thinking of you in this difficult time" to "encouragement". IDK if that would work for what you've got going on, but in my brain it fit.
