OK. If I were to mix matted with unmatted, I think I would mat just the boats and cabanas in white and leave the rest as is.

I headed home at about 1:45. Hit another wall this afternoon where I suddenly so tired of crafting I couldn't go on. Tried to persevere and finish, but I started to make mistakes and the two or three other folks still remaining were heading out, so it just seemed like a sign.
I completed 12 6x8 pages (times two because I'm making two duplicate albums) and six cards. I have 3 additional cards and the last 6 pages (2 each of 3) in various states of partial completion.

I get tired at the end of crops, too, and often power out, make more mistakes, run out of ideas. Usually spend the last hour or so sorting and stowing stuff away for the trip home.

Good morning, Team. If you have not yet stopped in to the Q-2 Sharing thread on the GS board, or the Year long Card sharing thread on the Cardmaking board, now would be a good time to go there and see Shakti 's marvelous pages and cards. Ya know, you can earn points for the team (5 comments for one point) as well as warm a crafter's heart by commenting on the creations ... This morning I am hoping to spend with the Peas on the Let's Scrap Together on line crop, finishing up a set of cards for May birthdays and Mothers' Day. I have two more cards to construct, and then I need to add greetings/sentiments on about half a dozen. Using up a ton of floral diecuts that seem to have migrated to my craft room, even though I hardly ever craft with flowers. Join us if you can--20 points per hour for crafting together! Do you purposely or inadvertently purchase sets of diecuts? How do you use them? Quick! Before I get lost under a landslide of them!

I suppose I inadvertently purchased sets of die cuts a couple years ago when I was starting in again to crafting and buying whatever was on sale and looked pretty/interesting. I am slowly finding ways to use them to make cards.
Last fall, I figured out that to use die cut sets for cardmaking, it's best to get the PP from the same collection, so I started buying them that way.
I think in at least one case, I went back and bought a 6x6 paper pad/pack for one of the die cut packs I already had.

I believe today's job interview went well. Should now be marketing. Or maybe doing laundry. I am decompressing. It's beautiful out, so I have windows open. It's also pollen-y out, so I can't breathe well....

I haven't purchased anything but paper and sticker in so long. Everything I am using is all that I have had from myself and from my mom when she passed. And I had donated a lot of things! I just can't justify purchasing anything. Don't get me wrong, I want to buy LOTS of things, but I really want to pare down on what I have.

Hi team and Shakti - thanks for keeping conversation alive! I'm so busy these days between work and moving that I haven't chatted much, but I am reading. I gave myself a sick day today to recover from a sore back (packing) and sore throat. I want to join in a Shimelle live stream (class that I purchased) and maybe stop into the pea crop later and enjoy myself. But in reality I feel like I will start some packing chore and then time will fly by. good luck in the bathroom scrappert!

Hope the reno goes well, scrappert . And that you get the rest you need after your exciting crop, Shakti . Are you unpacked yet? I have a four day weekend planned with family. Driving to my ds's home tomorrow--a five hour drive. A little extra time on the road if I take a break when I fill up with gas in Edmonton and sneak into the LSS there. Saturday and Sunday with the family (ds, ddil and their two boys aged 8 and 11), then driving home Monday. Not sure what we will be doing. Baseball was supposed to be starting on Saturday, but they got about a foot of snow on Tuesday, so that may be delayed. A couple of my other ds's boys may be dropping in for awhile. Printed a bunch of photos yesterday, so now I have the last of my hockey pic's to scrap, plus pic's from Easter and one ds's family road trip they took over spring break. Also some cute pic's sent to me by my girlie-girl dgd (aged 13) including a cute Valentines photo. But no time to scrap today. I am doing laundry and getting some other household chores done. This morning Dh gave me the package he picked up at the post office yesterday, some die sets from Karen Burniston. No time to play today and won't need them til my next card making session. Hoping to get back into scrapbooking next week.

I hope you get off to a good start Good morning, Team! Happy Friday Eve! I have a quiet weekend planned, a little crafting, a little adulting, and some relaxing. How about you? I have the house to myself most of the weekend. I signed up last minute for the free organizing summit so I'll watch a few of those videos. I will probably do some crafting while I watch, either cards or crochet. We have warm weather coming so I should do a little gardening too, and I've been trying to spend more time reading on Sundays. Lots of time... but I'm not always able to focus my energy towards the things I most want or need to do.

I am feeling much better rested since I got home, thanks grammadee . I am, miraculously, unpacked, more or less. My luggage is back in the basement already and that almost never happens; it often kicks around the bedroom still partially packed, for weeks. Crafty stuff is kind of or maybe mostly unpacked. It's sort of hard to determine. Some of you might be aware that February into March I embarked on an insane marathon of five virtual crafty events in seven weeks. The craft room is still not quite recovered from, especially since I started the doomed new job around week six of that. I'm struggling a bit today. Interview Tuesday went well, I think, but I won't hear feedback 'til Monday or Tuesday. Interview yesterday was tough. Interviewer started with "You've had like 10 jobs in like 20 years, what's that about?" or something like that. I thought I recovered well and established some rapport by the end, but heard that I hadn't made the cut within hours. Now, the position is open because the person who was in the role quite on short notice. He also mentioned that she'd been looking to transfer internally before she'd even worked for him a year. From that anecdote and his hostility attitude, my mom's guess is that he's difficult to work for and I dodged a bullet. But I came away from it with new, very stark realization that, yes, I've been laid off four times in fifteen years. DH will be out this evening, but the friend I often have lunch with says dinner's better for her today, so I'll be cooking for us here. And she's also had some similar experiences in her career, so that will be a very welcome visit! EtA: I also signed up today for the Get Organized thingy, joblackford . My understanding is that crochet and knitting are about the best crafts for while you're watching something else (but I wouldn't know, not doing either).

My understanding is that crochet and knitting are about the best crafts for while you're watching something else (but I wouldn't know, not doing either). I'm not one of those people who can hook by feel but I find that a lot of crafty stuff doesn't require much actual looking at the screen. I can listen along and look up as needed. I am easily distracted so it helps to have my hands and brain busy with two different things, especially if the thing I'm watching is stressful or not very good quality, like most TV and some YT videos! It does sound like you might've dodged a bullet with that guy. And I would think that if someone starts an interview that way, talking about your job history, I think they've probably already made their mind up before even giving you a chance. Which sucks. Interviews are very rough on the psyche/ego... even if you have very good reasons for job changes (which so many people do, especially these days!) or have just had a run of bad luck. I hope you hear good news soon!

Good morning, Team!
I just heard from the company I am most excited about! They are very excited about me, too! They are arranging an hour video interview with the hiring manager for next week!! Seems like emotional whiplash after how low I felt yesterday....
Off to a networking meeting this morning and then nothing to do this afternoon but putter and vibe -- a a combo my kid calls "haunting". It will probably be too late to actively craft, though I have a kit with only two cards left, so maybe. But I should definitely be able to work on further recovering the craft room and coming up with a PP project to do at a Monday evening Paper Pumpkin group at my local SU demo's house.

If you haunt your craftroom while organizing or listening to the summit videos you could rack up some points.

OK! Two (x2) more pages completed...I now have only the ONE PAGE (x2) that tripped me last weekend left to go! Because both copies of ALL the other pages are done, I can use any and all materials left to get them done -- NO CHANCE of accidentally cutting a piece of paper I had earmarked for something else and accidentally mixed back into the stash again! And I am sitting here posting about it instead of working on it because I am suddenly question the wisdom of saving it for the end of my crafting day....
OMG -- it was SO CLOSE to done! So glad I pulled that last page out because
OH FRABJOUS DAY! CALLOO! CALLAY!
I finished a scrapbook project!!
The adulting portion of the day will commence as soon as the photos are shared....

Thanks!
Next up: in-person Paper Pumpkin event Monday, so tomorrow morning’s crafty time will be spent finding some all-occasion card set alternative project to make with one of my PP kits. I have some ideas, it no plan.

I spent another day working through my Doodlebug scraps while listening to organizing summit videos. I should’ve taken a proper before photo but I have seriously emptied out the container!
I didn’t have the energy to commit to gluing everything down today but I used some scraps where I had a lot (relatively) of one pattern and cut them with a quilt die. I was able to make 3 little patchwork star cards that turned out pretty well. Bonus points for using a die I’ve been neglecting. I think I have at least a dozen more cards that need a little trimming and gluing and then some kind of focal point to finish them off.
Some of these scraps were so small (but so cute!) and went back to 2017-18!! Basically since I started using Dbug. I’m making a dent in my old die cuts too and hope to get even more on to these cards by the time they’re done.

I spent the afternoon catching up on printing photos from late January to now. I'm doing an online scrapbooking event next weekend and wanted ALL the options for choosing photos for the event. The event starts on Friday so I have some time to go through the event booklet matchup photos to projects.
I spent a lot of last week organizing the craft room. I moved the main seating area to be the middle of the room, rather than up against/looking out the window. I have a lot to do still, but I can envision better where it's going. I'm trying to make it so I can have 3 places to sit at (previously had 2). I want a scrapbook spot, a "messy" inky/painty spot, and I was thinking of putting a sewing machine in the third spot. Last night I had the idea of setting up a die cut machine there (metal dies). I think I would use that more than the sewing machine and I think I would use it more if I didn't have to plug it in each time to use it. If I do that, then I would have a full set of Alex drawers I could use to store metal dies, but I think realistically they would be too heavy even if spread out between 5(?) drawers, and then how would I store them in shallow drawers? I need to think on this more.

I love making my own envelopes using patterned paper, but it has dramatically increased the amount of scraps I have. Each leftover piece is 3.5x12, so I have to mat it a couple times to get the 3.5" piece wide enough to fit across a card front. When I do the 2peas card swaps, I end up with 25ish pieces of leftover envelope paper. It adds up so quickly. Way faster than I can use them.

I know that Karen Titus has a template where she starts with a 12x6 cut into 3 pieces at 4.5, 4 & 3.5 wide. There might be a way to use just a portion of her template to make a bunch of cards from your 3.5” scraps.
I’ve decided there will be plenty of time tomorrow to plan a project for the evening. I’ll need to find something else from my crafty-do list for this morning.
EtA: I have decided to attempt the last two classes from last May's Altenew Secret Garden retreat this morning. I have some other art deco-y Altenew products in the want to try this next bin, so it would be nice to get the streamlined set out of WIP jail.
But first, breakfast....

Ryann you could trim the scraps to 3x4” and use the extra 0.5” strip to decorate inside the card. There’s a sheetload with two 3x4 panels placed askew from each other that is one of my easy favorites - April 2020. I’m back to watching the organizing summit today and planning to glue down some of those cards I’ve drafted.
