chaosisapony you have my admiration laying a patio. My husband laid our driveway and it’s a huge job with the preparation and all the pavers, even more so if that’s not your trade. It wasn’t his. Great colours in your dispenser! I moved all the pavers here 2 years ago when my friends were getting rid of them but I wasn't ready to start on the patio yet. That was a lot of work! But now that they are here I feel like that's like 1/3 of the hard work already done and the rest shouldn't be too bad? I might be way off base, we'll see!

I have never done binding Nanner . At least not yet. I have quilt tops to finish so eventually I'll have to do it. But it strikes me as the hardest part of quilting. So I'm very nervous about it. Binding is always the part that freaks me out. I do a double folded and over the edge binding. To hold my fabric in place I use the snap hair clips- can't remember what they're called but you fold them one way to open and the other way to close them. Use a walking foot and GO SLOW. If I find I've missed it on the other side, I go back and put in a few hand stitches. I don't hand sew the bindings. I detest hand sewing.

Plant markers, beaded suncatchers, garden flags, anything fun that I can find to do. My aim is to be more active outdoors this year despite the Texas HEAT! I used to have a huge heat tolerance but have gotten too used to AC to do the fun things I love! Garden flags sound fun! I hope you share photos when you get all your decorations completed! I also hear you on the heat. Just hoping that this summer isn't as bad (or as early) as last year was. I am going to try some sublimation on some 100% polyester fabric I picked up at Joann’s on the dirt cheap discount table! I got some cheap wooden spoons at dollar tree to paint for some plant markers. I have already done a beaded butterfly suncatcher thingy to hang from a metal pot hanger-another run to Lowe’s or Home Depot for a garden flag holder and planter pot hanger thing! Lord help me if I come back with more plants to transplant into this project! But I am having fun!

I wish I could one project start to finish cakediva . It would certainly make my life a whole lot less complicated. What hook size was I using and what line did I leave off on? Those are always the questions I ask myself when I'm picking up something old. 😂 jeremysgirl I always keep post it notes everywhere so I can stick a note on whatever I am doing! If I stop in the middle of a project, make changes to a recipes, te member an item to add to the groceries, a new recipe idea, where I put something I know I am going to forget etc. but with these nots stuck on all my projects in progress, I can pick up because I know what tools, pattern, where I am at, etc in my sewing, crocheting, machine knitting, quilting, scrapbooking, etc. I actually do too many different crafts but I am not a person who can settle on just one or two hobbies!

Here are some of my practice seals. Apart from a little play with the grandchildren, these are the first I’ve done on my own without distraction. Some aren’t too bad and they are intended to keep so I know what the stamp actually is! It can be difficult knowing that the image is of some. What I’ve learnt : 1. I have too many stamps thanks to Temu’s cheapies. 2. Not all stamps are created equal, some are really cheap and the ones I’ve bought from non-Temu places are definitely superior. 3. Not all wax is created equal. Some melts better and stamps better than others. 4. Not all colouring pens are created equal! In the main the images look better highlighted but it can be tricky with the pens and aged eyes at night time. I have some really fine paint brushes that are meant for nail art and I’m hoping they will make my splodges better. 5. YouTube and Instagram make it look far easier than it really is. Who knew! I tried a dual coloured seal and although it eventually worked, it was with more fiddling than technique. I’ll put that up another time.

I gathered up all the blues, silvers, grays, and white from my stash. I figure I will put blue lights on my tree this year. And I've just finished making star ornaments. Each one took me about 15 minutes. I'm moving onto something else. I've got some glass bulbs coming in the mail today and I will crochet around them like finsup did a bunch last year. But I'm well on my way. So pretty! I keep an artificial lighted white birch tree up all year so I can hang my crocheted pretties on it. 😊

I haven’t posted any of my projects in a while but I finally called my Yuletide blanket done 2-1/2 years after starting it. I didn’t do the border because I was just over it. A couple more recent projects, flowers on canvas:

It really has helped e to pick up a project from forever ago(even a year or more) and get right back into form where I left off!

She dug them out and they were by a company called Sonnets. I’d totally forgotten that. I hadn’t bought any then but remember them being around.

Thank you for the binding tips seaexplore! I've seen clips used on Instagram reels. I wonder if they are the same. I saw one woman put them in her hair and I assumed she was being silly and they were made for quilting. Now I'm assuming they were made for hair and she was only using them for quilting. 😂 How is your husband doing?

gillyp those seals are great! Is it colored wax or do you paint them? I don't know exactly how it's done. Thank you. It's coloured wax 'beads' that are melted in a little spoon over a tea light; about 3 or 4 beads per seal. You can also use wax sticks in a glue gun. The beads I used were free from a company I bought something else from so ideal for just practice playing. Plus! Any fails can be melted down and used again. The design on the seal can be highlighted with pens or left as is.

Finally took some progress photos! I'm one round away from being done the first set of repeat rounds on my Thingie-ma-bob. Loving this pattern - getting better at the "leaves" round for sure. Love the texture in this one - Briar Rose was lovely, but didn't have any pop-out type of texture. This one is full of it! I'm using Lion Brand bonus Mandala in Yeti with a 5mm hook I did control the colours in the first full rounds so it didn't transition mid-row, but now I'm just letting it flow!

Thank you for the binding tips seaexplore ! I've seen clips used on Instagram reels. I wonder if they are the same. I saw one woman put them in her hair and I assumed she was being silly and they were made for quilting. Now I'm assuming they were made for hair and she was only using them for quilting. 😂 How is your husband doing? Yep, hair clips 😂 This is wayyyyyy longer than I intended! He’s doing ok, still this side of the ground. I don’t think I’ve updated in a while… radiation was successful on the 3 tumors in his brain from December. He started with a bad headache the first week of March and an MRI 3/16 showed EIGHT new tumors in the frontal lobe. He was really bad off with the headache and waited 10 days to tell his doctor- refused to eat/drink/get out of bed for over 36 hours (he did not even pee the bed!)- I felt like he had given up. Finally had the MRI only to find the new tumors. He’s just finished 5 targeted radiation sessions and is coming back around again. His mom has been a HUGE help with appointments and coming to the house to make sure he gets up and is eating and taking his meds like he’s supposed to. He did one treatment of opdivo/yervoy before the headache started but he had to go off that because of the massive swelling in his brain and the need to go back on the decadron steroid. He was losing balance, couldn’t think, only wanted to sleep. He’s now walking better, hasn’t fallen in over a week, is more alert more often (still tired). He's supposed to be starting Cotellic/Zelboraf (I think I spelled it right) but we need an EKG first. He’s heading in tomorrow for that so hopefully he can start it asap. He has a rather large tumor on his neck that just looks awful- should be taken care of by these new meds. They did DNA testing on his lymphnode tumors and found his type is very aggressive- it’s got the BRAF v600 mutation. This new med is apparently very good at dealing with this type of melanoma. I need to convince him to cut his shoulder length curly hair because it’s a matted mess. I’ve been working on him and I think we are almost there. I think he would feel better about himself if his hair looked nice. Right now he throws on a beanie to cover it up and he looks homeless. He doesn’t care if he looks homeless. That’s a problem 😂. So, yeah, life is keeping on and I’m going going going 6-7 days a week with work and the kids sports. Very thankful I only have 2 kids and they each only do one sport! Thank you for asking. I’ve been reading but don’t have much crafty stuff to add right now. ❤️

Hello all, happy April! I seem to have gotten myself addicted to making wax seals. I’m just waiting for a new seal head and a different burner (hopefully here in two days) and I intend to play with making multicoloured seals. They will either be multicoloured or a multi mess. If they look reasonable I’ll post later in the week. I’m off to my brother’s at the end of the month. It’s a 12 hour drive each way so I’ll take something yarny to do in the car. I love wax seals too and make tiny ones out of my silver scraps. They never turn out the same though. So sometimes they don’t look like them. I’m currently trying to configure 1 small enough to put on a 1 cm size envelope pendant.

It’s somewhere in my craft jungle. I’ll try to track it down to see who it was. I’m pretty sure they were international.
