Gosh seaexplore , that is so very hard on all of you. I'm so sorry you are all going through this. Thank you for taking the time to come here and also for letting us know how things are. Fingers crossed he can start those meds shortly and they help. Thank you. It’s just all so crazy! Like, life was fine and then completely upside down.

Are we thinking I can make this? Because I bought all the supplies and plan to give it a shot. OMG! Those are back! My late MIL made those for me back in the 1990s! I have a large one and a smaller on, both in all white. They are so nice to display at Christmas. You can definitely make that.

I mean what would a tree with all crocheted ornaments be without an angel on top?

I have a box of crocheted ornaments and decor like this that my grandmother made. I’ll have to dig them out.

Ooh that so pretty JoP ! I don't remember elaine sharing that one. she did an amazing job! If I remember correctly, it was on a thread about what’s on top of your Christmas tree or similar. It stuck in my mind because I was so in awe of the detail and how delicate it was 😊

seaexplore my heart goes out to you. I can't even imagine how difficult that must be for all of you. Thank goodness his mom is helping so you can still keep up with your kids. I just really feel for all of you. Will keep him in my prayers. And it's totally understandable that you wouldn't be crafting right now. Keep coming here for the discussions and the eye candy. ❤️ Thank you for the prayers. This is for sure not what I planned for my 50’s to be like! I'm so sorry things are so rough. Please do some small things for yourself. Buy yourself flowers, if that's your thing. Take an hour for coffee with a friend. It's so vital to take care of YOU. Giant hugs.

Thank you for the binding tips seaexplore ! I've seen clips used on Instagram reels. I wonder if they are the same. I saw one woman put them in her hair and I assumed she was being silly and they were made for quilting. Now I'm assuming they were made for hair and she was only using them for quilting. 😂 How is your husband doing? Yep, hair clips 😂 This is wayyyyyy longer than I intended! He’s doing ok, still this side of the ground. I don’t think I’ve updated in a while… radiation was successful on the 3 tumors in his brain from December. He started with a bad headache the first week of March and an MRI 3/16 showed EIGHT new tumors in the frontal lobe. He was really bad off with the headache and waited 10 days to tell his doctor- refused to eat/drink/get out of bed for over 36 hours (he did not even pee the bed!)- I felt like he had given up. Finally had the MRI only to find the new tumors. He’s just finished 5 targeted radiation sessions and is coming back around again. His mom has been a HUGE help with appointments and coming to the house to make sure he gets up and is eating and taking his meds like he’s supposed to. He did one treatment of opdivo/yervoy before the headache started but he had to go off that because of the massive swelling in his brain and the need to go back on the decadron steroid. He was losing balance, couldn’t think, only wanted to sleep. He’s now walking better, hasn’t fallen in over a week, is more alert more often (still tired). He's supposed to be starting Cotellic/Zelboraf (I think I spelled it right) but we need an EKG first. He’s heading in tomorrow for that so hopefully he can start it asap. He has a rather large tumor on his neck that just looks awful- should be taken care of by these new meds. They did DNA testing on his lymphnode tumors and found his type is very aggressive- it’s got the BRAF v600 mutation. This new med is apparently very good at dealing with this type of melanoma. I need to convince him to cut his shoulder length curly hair because it’s a matted mess. I’ve been working on him and I think we are almost there. I think he would feel better about himself if his hair looked nice. Right now he throws on a beanie to cover it up and he looks homeless. He doesn’t care if he looks homeless. That’s a problem 😂. So, yeah, life is keeping on and I’m going going going 6-7 days a week with work and the kids sports. Very thankful I only have 2 kids and they each only do one sport! Thank you for asking. I’ve been reading but don’t have much crafty stuff to add right now. ❤️ Ill continue to keep you, your dh and your family in my good thoughts and hoping he recovers well and quickly.

Guess what??!! Im really excited. I started my first shawl! I really didn't thin I could do it. That I would just be making hats and scarves and dishclothes forever, and that would've been ok, but I needed to stretch myself, see if I could expand on my skills. And I am! Im only on row 4 but its getting there. Im making the Omar Wrap by Toni Lipsey from TL Yarn Crafts, with her video tutorial.

It's a just big enough project. And I use all the fancy yarns. I love using alpaca, silk, even camel hair.

So sweet jeremysgirl! They will look lovely with your angel. (no pressure. ) 😂🤣😂 I was going to try out some thread snowflakes first. But by the time I had finished these last night, dinner was ready and I treated myself to two glasses of red wine. 🤣 So I thought I'd better pause on my crocheting and wait until I was fresh again. Two glasses of red wine and I'm done for...

I did get the binding done and hand sewn on on my cathedral wall hanging (ugh). I just can't figure out how to post pictures here anymore.
I've been procrastinating on the baby quilt - I just have to sew the backing together and get it to the long armer. I plan on doing that this weekend. My dear friend likes hand sewing and told me she'd do my binding for me when she's here for a few weeks next month! Such a wonderful friend!!!
