Because I’m trying to work through my stack of cardstock, I’m just using what I have. I used to have our entire downstairs family room as my craft room. I shopped more than I crafted due to job, family, etc. Now I’m working on using my stash up. First my 12x12 cardstock and my 12x12 patterned paper.
Each time I cut into a new sheet of paper I feel good about using it!

I did card bases yesterday. I didn't have crafty time today.
Maybe I'll see if I can get the white die cutting done tomorrow morning.
EtA: I think I'm tempted by Pebble and Sea Glass ink cubes, but I don't want to pay flat rate shipping. I'm having trouble finding both in stock somewhere with shipping by weight....

I'll work on the homework sometime this week. I am going to prepare additional homework so I can make the card twice. This way I'll have extra cards on hand and I can never have too many holiday cards.

I don't have a robust collection of colored cardstock that matches my inks. I buy colors as I need them for a project, so I had to do some ordering from C9. Waiting for it to arrive so I can get started. I will be behind.
I wish they would have released the color samples sooner since we need to supply our own colored cardstock, time is needed to source it. Seems like that would be easy enough since I am sure the samples are made months in advance. Revealing colors wouldn't give away anything too revealing before sneaks are released.

It's never clear to me that card stock and ink should be garanimals matchy-matchy. I mean, sometimes it might really matter, but mostly I don't think it does. You need things that don't completely clash and coordinate. I suppose you also want to avoid that that whole "almost matches perfectly but not quite so it draws the eye and fixates the brain on whether they are or aren't the same. Without being able to see the completed projects, it's hard to tell when it will and won't matter that much, though.
I did watch the homework videos yesterday. That's some color scheme for Carissa's third card! I don't think I'm quite that MCM....

Each time I cut into a new sheet of paper I feel good about using it! I will use and cut up stock from my Neenah and Recollections assortments with reckless abandon. The HA stock from MMH kits and C&9th from camp kits I hoard like dragon's treasure! I used the sheet of C&9th gold foil card stock for last year's summer camp, this year's summer camp, and I now this event. I have C&9th gold from this year's camp kit and the sheet from this kit still untouched. It's probably a sickness. It also means I've run it through my die cutter a gazillion times and I don't notice it being wrecked at all...maybe I'm missing something. I have done all the white and gold cutting for Meghann's and Cathy's classes. When I realized we have NO sneak peeks, NO illustrations in the homework PDF, and only pictures of the die cut pieces for Carissa's cards, I kind of lost interest.

Thank you! Did they just get posted? I swear I looked yesterday morning and they weren't there.
I definitely do NOT like the pink Christmas tree and I'm not sure about the pink background either. But at least I can see where we headed so I can make some decisions.
I went through the C&9th web site and found a stamp and die bundle that looked really interesting. Don't need it anymore than I need another hole in my head, but it would make shipping worthwhile....
Then I realized that ALL my gray card stock is darker, more cobblestone than pebble -- like some actual C&9th Cobblestone, but some from HA and Neenah that are nearly identical too. I have lots of choices for dark gray ink that would coordinate with that. Saved from myself!

Hahaha. I was going to order the inks from C&9th but decided to just use what I have. I don't care for the pink either, so will use whatever I have here. It will be interesting to see what we all come up with!

Pink at Christmas just doesn’t do it for me I’m looking forward to see other colors used in place of the pink

So, I'm not sure I'm going to like the Cobblestone in place of the Pebble (now that I have it all cut, of course, haha). It looks like Michael's Recollections in light pewter is pretty close. Of course, then I'd need the ink. Except I'm looking at the sneak peeks, and I don't actually think I do. I know that they're just "peeks" but I am really not seeing where many of the supplies listed for Meghann's class are actually used: both gray inks, the honeycomb and honeysuckle inks.

Looks like a good event. I didn't sign up because in the sneaks I saw lots of similar stuff that I already own.
SCT should offer an add-on cardstock kit before they ship the kits out.

Shakti, the C&9th's sea glass cardstock is gorgeous, you should order it! Would also recommend tidepool, which is a slightly darker shade than sea glass. Personally, my favorite C&9th cardstock color is powder (an icy light blue).

I did one of the big 3 - 4 day Crop and Create Delivered events and was also overwhelmed twillerbee. By the weekend, the pace, and also ALL THE STUFF. Yes, it's a great deal, but so many things, so many styles, just SO MUCH. This is my second one-day event with all SCT-branded product. I really liked the last one and I think I'm going to really enjoy this one as well. Highly recommend!

Now that the instructions are up and I can see the full cards, I hate to say it but I just don't like the pink cards. Too much pink for me at Christmas and some of the die cut words are hard to read.
I'm trying to figure out some different colors to use.

I just saw the full cards - not a fan of the pink, either. I'm going to change that to red and just stick with the classic Christmas colours of red and green. The pink Christmas tree on the green back ground I'll have to think about. I could do a silver tree on the green background, too. It will be fun to change it up.
I have done nothing yet, no homework at all. Maybe this weekend.

So, update (I know you're all waiting with bated breath): I DID go to Michael's and get light pewter. It is a good match for Pebble -- possibly a tad too gray or cooler or something, but much better than using cobblestone. So, yes, I placed my C&9th order for Pebble and Sea Glass Cubes. And a stamp and die set I don't need (but like a lot!) to make the shipping charge worthwhile. They'll be here Wednesday.
In the meantime, I side-tracked myself with a completely different project and stalled out on homework. But, since I GOT A JOB, I have plenty of time mornings this week to do it, what with no more job hunting required but no job to go to yet (starts 8/5)!

Congratulations on the new job Shakti! I haven’t even looked at the homework yet. I might do some of it this week. I’m not home for the actual class day, so I haven’t felt any pressure to be ready.

Thanks, justjac! I am having a heck of a time keeping my sea glass and eucalyptus straight, but I have all of Meghann's homework done except for the honeysuckle, which I don't have. According to Jaycee Gaspar's C&9th color wheel watermelon, which I have, should work as well or better. It's more directly opposite sea glass/eucalyptus, so that should be better, right?

In the end, I found something from one of my Recollections multi-color packs that was a nice pinky-red, very similar to honeysuckle, and used that. So all the homework for class one is done!

Congratulations on the new job Shakti How is everyone doing with their homework? What is everyone’s thoughts on the detailed word dies? I think they will be too much work for me to use them often. I’m not big on fiddling with these type of dies

I’m not big on fiddling with this type of dies I’m not too crazy about the detailed word dies either. I did what Meghann suggested, use Press ‘n Seal to keep them together, but that stuff ain’t easy to work with, with dies like that. The one part is so delicate, and when you try to get it off the PnS it stretches out of shape.
