Wasn’t me who tagged them all as political - but years ago I did hear someone say that everything is political in some way (it was relating to education and decisions made as educators). I think that’s true about many issues and decisions we make, if we define political in broad ways.
As a political junkie, I often look for the politics label.
And, I often open threads that, by the title, aren’t necessarily ones I’d be interested in - only to find I learn something from them or they turn into a completely different thread. That’s part of the fun of this board.

Holy crap. Got on my PC to download some photos and it seems this troll decides to mark all the threads as political just not page 1. I went to page 5 and yup, all posts marked as political. 🤦🏻♀️

Ah---I was wondering if I'd eventually find the thread that most likely triggered the explosion of thread markers. To speak to the actual point of this thread, I think the subject title is often enough to let one know that a thread was intended to be political. And the very fact that this is 2Peas, should be enough to let you know that ANY thread might become political.  So I don't feel the need for the use of the political tags. Now, the Old Thread tag---that one I find helpful, because apparently I am an absolute idiot when it comes to ever remembering to check the date on a thread before I dive in and start yammering on about something you all discussed 5 years ago. |

If I decided to make a point, it would be more subtle. Like inserting overtly political posts into the game threads. 😂 |

Oh dear, should I be afraid? I think we have psycho on the board. I can't imagine what type a life this psycho has to waste hours marking threads with labels becasue someone pissed them off my not agreeeing with them.

LOL---I almost never make it past page 2, so I didn't realize someone had marked so darn many pages of them. Wow! And now I see that only the first 2 pages have been unmarked. Apparently either it's one person and they eventually grew tired, or it's two people and the marker had more stamina than the un-marker.  But hey, I do prefer it un-marked, so thanks to whoever put in the time to un-mark them.  |

I have never understood why political discussions have to be red-flagged here so no tender flower accidentally reads something she doesn't want to. This practice has the effect of rendering those of us who like to discuss world events and their effect on us as second-class members of this board. We have to be marked with a red A to warn others away. Just stop it. Put on your big girl panties and read the subject lines. And yes, I've been here long enough to know that someone will now label this thread politics. Whatever. You're just showing that you're too much of a child to manage adult discussions. For what it's worth, I think the "game" threads are stupid. I've tried to participate once or twice, but overall I find the daily "what's for dinner" thread boring. I find weight loss threads triggering as someone who has worked hard to stop hating my body. But as an adult, I just scroll on by instead of asking people who enjoy those threads to only post under some stupid label. Some others here should look into that. Hey, don't hate the dinner thread. Actually, I'm not upset, just have to defend my turf. You can hate hate dinner thread, because you have a choice and that's important. I have a point. Everyone has threads that they don't like. Scrolling is so easy. It's a nifty feature to use anytime you don't want to go to a thread. Game threads don't annoy me. I just scroll past them. This board is so slow that the game threads add content.
I don't like the political threads, because of the meanness. I recently got involved in 2 of them and I was so angry that I decided that I need to participate in other threads and put a couple people on block. I chose to scroll on by the threads that don't have value for me. If I go into a thread and it isn't my thing then I go back to the board and look elsewhere. I'm ambivalent about labeling threads. Frankly, it's a 1st world problem to me.

if 15 people pick a page each and undo the labels, then the petty little troll might give up.

Don't think unlabeling will work. Labels are back. I'd say let it go for a few days. Kinda sucks. Labels go to page 50 or so.

Okay so got onto my PC and noticed something. When on NSBR at the top right before the threads start there is Select and Actions. If you select all under the select tab you get a check mark on all of page one. You can then click action and go to Labels you can then select remove and whatever label is there. I just selected 16 pages worth and all quickly got labels removed. So it looks like that is how quickly they are getting on. I figured there had to be a quick way to make it happen.

I hate to burst your bubble there Sparky but whoever decided to act like a jerk made that decision on their own free will. Merge voiced her opinion and if the jerk had a problem with the opinion that is on the jerk and no one else. And that includes the jerk’s actions. People can disagree with others without being a jerk. I also looked up the word “suffer” and I hardly see how anyone on this board “suffered “ any pain, distress, or hardship. But if you believe there was actual suffering on this board after the actions of the jerk then maybe we had better start putting a big ❄️ after your name. suf·fer·ing noun the state of undergoing pain, distress, or hardship. |

You know damn well I was using the word "suffering" in the colloquial (that dictionary will come in handy now!) sense and not the literal, but go ahead and act stupid if you'd rather. But it WAS a hardship for me to see all those labels. I also think it was probably upsetting for people who posted things like deaths in the family, unwell pets etc to see their posts labelled like that just for the fun of it. Interesting defence though - totally sounds like something you'd do now that I think about it. |
