I have about 5 or 6 empty, as nothing in them at all, kitchen cabinets! We got rid of so much when we moved there is nothing to put there. We have a HUGE (10ft x 6ft) walk in pantry, and it's half empty. We are determined not to fill things up & store "stuff" Your pantry is about the size of the working area in my kitchen! It sounds wonderful! The house had a nice pantry once upon a time, but it was turned into a sizeable powder room in the 40s.

We always have a few empty boxes (usually from an online Target order) sitting around, as our cats love to nap in them or play in them. They like an empty box much more than any bed I’ve ever bought them.

We have bookshelves in almost every room, minus the bathrooms.
No shoes allowed to be worn in the house, unless you have a medical need.
Most of the rooms have brightly colored paint on the walls, for instance my kitchen is a lovely Caribbean Turquoise, and my bathroom is the color of English Lavender. Our girls just painted their room Pink Limoncello.
We've just put down LVP and the two sets of stairs we have (tri-level house) have the same color wood tops as the floor, but the backings are each a different color of the rainbow.

We have bath mats on the 2 new chairs…because cats. If we know someone is coming we will remove them but if you just show up you’ll see them keeping fur off the seat cushions. Ha! I keep a leopard Barefoot Dreams blanket thrown across one of our white chairs and ottoman because our dog Scouty like to lay on the ottoman and look out the window. The blanket matches nothing in our living room, but Scouty loves this blanket but I love that it keeps my off white furniture clean so I put it on his chair and then throw it in the wash once a week.

My walls are covered in artwork. I mean covered, thru the whole house. The last time we moved it took me forever to pack all the frames. I know it looks like an art gallery exploded in my house but we love it. I have art that represents all the countries we lived in and visited
I’m finally getting better, but I have a lot of storage baskets, containers, etc. My DH joined the military in 1989, before internet shopping was easy. We lived in so many different places, having those storage containers were essential. I’ve managed to pare it down by telling myself I can pop into Dollar Tree at anytime but I do still have too many. Having a huge unfinished storage area in our basement makes it easy to to not parse them more

I live an hour from any shopping, so I have a back-up to every back-up. Food, supplies, you name it.

Shoes optional in my house.
Wall to wall tile that extends out to the back covered porch. No area rugs.
Huge double door pantry (ceilings in the house are 10’) that has games in the bottom 1/3, puzzles in the top 1/3, food and stuff as it fits around the games and puzzles and the middle 1/3.
A formal dining room that is actually a library/playroom. We don’t have a dining room and eat in the living room most of the time.
A pool table in the area that would be a dining room. The house is very open concept.
We all fend for ourselves for meals (kids are 8 and 12) for the most part. DH and I will offer to make more of whatever we’re eating for the kids. If they choose not to eat it, they’re on their own. We eat weird hours because of sports.
We have a “snack drawer” that is 12” tall by 36” wide by 20” deep. This contains prepared foods that the kids and their friends can have whenever. Usually has granola bars, mixed nuts, fruit bars, breakfast grad and go stuff.

High-fiving all the peas with instruments all over the house!
In my line of sight is a piano, 3 guitars (good grief!), two violins, a ukulele... I think that's it. There are some soprano and alto recorders in the piano bench.
That's not counting everything that's NOT in my line of sight: at least 3 more guitars, a U-bass, some flutes and clarinets, and a whole electronic music setup with synthesizers, keyboards, etc. And don't get me started on the mics, amps, and stands. Or the handheld percussion... Oy. I didn't even think of that as weird, though.
What's weird is that my tiny dog has a bed in every room in the house save the kitchen and the kids' room (she thinks DD's bed belongs to her, though! LOL). She actually has TWO in our bedroom.
What's also weird is that I have a 12-pack of toilet paper in the closet that May Not Be Used unless there is a Most Dire Emergency. Covid damaged me in odd ways!

Omg Merge, this is my dh and ds also! At ds's house in Georgia he's turned their entire garage into his hobby room, totally packed with stuff. My dh has basically taken over the basement. SO many miniature figures, paints, brushes, etc., etc., etc., etc., He and ds go twice a year to the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society convention, usually held in Lancaster, PA. Dh is usually a game leader for some of the time. This year's game that he's running has something to do with Civil War gun boats, but that's all I could tell you. I try to avoid most of it. That community is so small, I'd be willing to bet your DH and mine have met online. My DH mostly paints and plays Napoleonic-era games and has actually published a set of rules for them. King of the dorks. um.... my dh's special interest is the Napoleonic era! (second is the Civil War)

Shoes on in the house. We don’t have a good spot for taking them off before going in the house from the garage, and just don’t care about that at all. Shoes on for the most part here too - but we shoot for CLEAN shoes. My DH slips in with his boots in not the best condition sometimes, and we have to have a chat. Or mostly me looking the chunk of something on the floor and saying "gaaadamnit" ... lol And he says WHOOPS! My bottom door shelf of my refrigerators is all animal health. Penicillin, sometimes vaccines, or whatever needs to stay cold. We do have an Animal Health fridge in the shop, but I am overflow or 'whoops, brought this home by mistake'. I also generally have a 50# bag of milk replacer in the corner of my kitchen all spring to make bottles for calves. That is what REAL farmhouse looks like. Some mystery chunks off dirty boots, milk replacer, syringes in the sink, and so SO much mail! lol

Is it normal that we use our garage for our cars?! 🤣 It is apparently unusual in some places. We use our garage for cars. I think it is more common here because so many homes have basements and outbuildings for all the junk that ends up in garages of homes on smaller lots. I don't even want to talk about what is in my basement. I told myself when hot weather came, I would clean out the basement because it is cooler down there. Hot weather is here and where am I? Anyway, one of my unusual things it that the coat closet is half full of coats and the other half is my collection of tablecloths. There is always one on the dining room table. There is another drawer in the kitchen full of cloth napkins. There are no paper plates or paper napkins in the house. I love a pretty table even if it is a bit more work. My guest bedroom's closets are full of craft supplies. I keep the linens in boxes under the bed. Currently there are 4 vases of fresh flowers in the house. It's a bit much but my hydrangeas and glads are blooming and I'm going to enjoy them while I can.

I have a collection of 'trash' for the cat to play with, empty boxes, paper bags, milk carton rings, plastic pots (does he own every toy Amazon has to offer...yes, does he want to play with those toys...no!) I keep all sorts of things that I know he'll enjoy. I think that is adorable. When we had an indoor/outdoor cat, her favorite toy was ping pong balls.

I really can't think of anything that isn't probably normal in other houses... but, we haven't used our front door in 27 days because a bird decided to make a nest in my door wreath. So we are waiting for the babies to fly. My neighbor used to have a cute painted rain boot that she would fill with silk flowers and hang on their front door in the spring. Occasionally a bird would make a nest in it and they couldn’t use that door until the babies left the nest! I have a good dozen birdhouses in the backyard available. Never had one in a wreath. We do have mountain chickadees in one of the houses. Such a cute family.

I suck at decorating, so I have pictures and mirrors stacked against each other on the wall by my front door that have never been hung in the 28 years I've lived in my house. There are very few pictures of any kind hung in my house.
My garage has so many bikes hanging from the ceiling that the whole neighborhood calls us the bike house. There are mountain bikes galore, an electric mountain bike, a tandem bike, a unicycle, and ds23's tricycle and his first two wheel bike. There is also a bike bench because dh also works on his bikes.

Our house is so small that the kitchen has no room for the microwave. It is mounted under a cabinet above the dryer in the laundry room which is off the kitchen. The only three pronged electrical plugs (USA based) are for refrigerator, washer, dryer and stove. We just have never upgraded our electrical. My craft room is off the only bedroom and the original owner built it over the outdoor brick patio. How do we know? When we removed the carpet and padding there were the bricks! There is no longer a light in the hallway, but the light switch is there. Late MIL (who used to live here) put in a solar tube where the light fixture once was.

Oh I love the rainbow stairs, that is so pretty!
I can't really think of anything very unusual here. I don't have a garage so I don't have storage space. Unfortunately that means one of the back bedrooms is generally in a state of emergency because stuff just tends to collect there before I deal with it. I am one person in a 3 bedroom house and I refuse to have "guest bedrooms" because no one ever stays with me. I have a craft room and and office. When I tell people that there is no empty bed and empty room just sitting they usually give me a weird look. But sorry, I'm not going to designate that much space to something that isn't needed!
I also proudly wear my shoes in the house and encourage others to do so if they need to. Foot comfort is of the utmost importance.

I have a chest freezer in my garage containing over 200 litres of ice cream. It's the excess storage for the shop. We have the ashes of 4 dogs in urns in the lounge and 2 cats in the study. No one knows, the urns are normal looking painted pottery. Shoes are allowed. Gorgeous stairs dawnnikol!
