QOTD: if you create a CAS project (clean and simple) page or card, limited to just 3 elements, which three would you choose? White cardstock base, patterned paper panel, bold die cut sentiment If the base doesn't count then I'd add a cheerful die cut too.

QOTD: if you create a CAS project (clean and simple) page or card, limited to just 3 elements, which three would you choose? Forgot to answer my question. I think I would use cardstock, letter stickers and ink (could stencil or splatter, or brush blend). Linda, I didn't include the photos as one of the elements.

I'm home from my England trip: it was amazing, and I didn't even *think* to check the boards which is very unusual for me. Our flights home yesterday were...a trial. We had to literally run for both our flights even though we had given ourselves ample time. DH and DS have the same first name/last name, and we think the ticketing system was marking one as "invalid", so every time we would get a "valid" boarding pass the other one would then not be accepted! QOTD: Do you usually finish one layout/project before starting the next one, or do you usually have several layouts/projects on the go at once? I always finish. If I don't, that layout/card will never get completed. I know myself. QOTD: if you create a CAS project (clean and simple) page or card, limited to just 3 elements, which three would you choose? patterned paper, letter stickers/thickers, and enamel dots

QOTD: if you create a CAS project (clean and simple) page or card, limited to just 3 elements, which three would you choose? This question is unnecessarily cruel grammadee ! Only three is really tough. I think I'd have to choose cardstock, patterned paper, and a die cut. (Am I allowed to fussy cut from the patterned paper to make another element? If so, then I'm changing die cut to paint.)

My very late QOTD is a "this or that" question:
Stripes or Polka Dots? Stars or Hearts? Patterns or plain? Stitching or Inked edges?
I really want to say "all of the above!" But if I had to choose, it would be: Stripes Hearts Patterns Stitching

But if I had to choose, it would be: Stripes Hearts Patterns Stitching I think I’m with you. Sometimes I’ll go with polka dots and stars but mostly I’m stripes, hearts, patterns and stitching. I spent half of the afternoon getting my work done (listing some milk glass for sale) but I finished 5 more Christmas cards before calling it a day. Happy that I found a Sheetload to work with some busy patterns

Oh my goodness! That sounds like the last thing you would want to deal with on the trip home. It didn’t happen on the way out? Glad to hear the rest of the trip was good. Did you go to London or travel around the country? Were you there for a special reason?

My very late QOTD is a "this or that" question: Stripes or Polka Dots? Stars or Hearts? Patterns or plain? Stitching or Inked edges? I'd go polka dots, probably hearts (but it's a tough call, I love and use both frequently on my pages), patterns, and inking.

Did you go to London or travel around the country? Were you there for a special reason? Zero issues on the way out! It was a direct flight Canada-->UK. On the way home, we flew UK-->New York-->Canada, and I wonder if that extra check (to get into the US) screwed things up. Very puzzling. We did 6 days in London, then a 5 day mini-bus tour of Wales. The tour was *brilliant* - so engaging, 13 people total so it felt like a big group of friends, and the tour leader/driver was also so friendly and knowledgeable. Alas, "Rosie from Melbourne who stops to pat every dog she sees" got really sick on day 3, and now DH and I have covid (as does the tour leader, I contacted him) so I'm guessing the whole bus-load of us will get it given our close contact throughout. Stripes or Polka Dots? Stars or Hearts? Patterns or plain? Stitching or Inked edges? Stripes (a small piece makes a big impact) Hearts (I like the rounded edges) Patterns (that's a no-brainer) Ink (just easier than stitching!)

Oh man... what a way to end a great trip! And to be dealing with the check in hassles while you were presumably getting sick I hope you feel better soon. I bet you took lots of great photos. Hope you're feeling well enough to go through them and remember all the fun bits. Are you planning a special album just for this trip? Will you include the virus at the end?

Guess we need a Saturday question…
QOTD: what are your three oldest tools, and do you use them still?

QOTD: what are your three oldest tools, and do you use them still? hmmm... that's actually a good question. I don't have the same paper trimmer I started with - but DH uses it still. I have a couple of punches from early on - a tiny heart and a big dragonfly but the others have been passed along. I no longer have my tracing stencils (shapes and alphas). The oldest tools I still own and use regularly? Other than the previously mentioned punches, my pink QK handle and dies, my Deluxe Designs colourblocking templates and Pages by Design system, and probaby some wooden block stamps. Honourable mention to my Crop-A-Dile hole punch and my Cricut Expression

That I still have? Crop-a-dile, heat gun, stamp blocks would have to been the three. I've worn out sooooooooo many paper trimmers. I've also broken a cuttlebug and spellbinders machine--so those have been replaced and I got a Gemini too.
kitbop--wow, what a whirlwind, challenging trip home, and now covid! Take care my friend!
Windy week here at the lake. White caps today! DH had a good day yesterday then overdid it. DS is helping getting shelving units up in the garage so I can finally go through boxes that have been sitting. Plus organize so I can find stuff. Take things off the existing shelves and store them a more space economical way. Staying cool in the house as we are above 90 degrees and 85% humidity. Since the wind is from the south we are not getting Canada's fire smoke.

kitbop I can't wait to see some of your travel layouts! There was a London themed digi scrapbook kit for 50% off last week at The Lilypad. I nearly bought it, because I still haven't scrapped the photos from my UK trip way back in 1994. I'm thinking I'll just wait for you to do yours, then I can scraplift!

Guess we need a Saturday question… QOTD: what are your three oldest tools, and do you use them still? I have a small cutting mat I brought back from Japan 20+ years ago that I still use whenever I pull out my craft knife. Other than that I’m thinking 10yo-ish Tiny Attacher which I use here and there, and some acrylic blocks which I use all the time.

Samesies! And although I do not often use the ovals, all the others get some use on a regular basis. I had to replace the blades for the cutting system a few years ago, but still going strong.

What are your oldest tools.
I have an old CM corner rounder. I haven’t used it in a while. I also have their cutting system in several shapes. I also haven’t used it in a while.
I have a tin from Making Memories with a self healing mat, paper punch tool with various sized tips, hammer, tweezers, needle and not sure that else. I still use the tweezers and the simple paper piercer.

Guess we need a Saturday question… QOTD: what are your three oldest tools, and do you use them still? I have some hybrid acrylic/wood handle blocks from Unity Stamp Co. that I've had for maybe 15 years? I absolutely love them and still use them as my go-to blocks for stamping. I have a Crop-o-dile Corner Chomper & a TH Tiny Attacher from the same time frame that I still use.

Awhile ago I decided to use eyelets as a design element away from the edge of the page and pulled out that little tin box. It still worked LOL.
