Guess we need a Saturday question… QOTD: what are your three oldest tools, and do you use them still?Hmmmm, I would say one of my oldest tools is my paper crimper and no, I do not use it. My texture boutique and embossing folders - on occasion, but mostly I don't think to. The sew easy tool - I do use it once in a great great while. And now reading other replies, I too have that same Making Memories brad setting set with the hammer. and a tiny attacher. I've never been to a CM party or bought any of their cutting tools, but I do see the rave reviews here on them.

The sew easy tool - I do use it once in a great great while. I have a few different Sew Easy's! The only one I have used is the one that makes the ribbon look like leaves. One of these days I should pull the others out to see if I can find a use for them...

tin from Making Memories with a self healing mat, paper punch tool with various sized tips, hammer, tweezers, needle and not sure that else. I still use the tweezers and the simple paper piercer. I have one of these also but I've only had it about 5 years or so - I picked it up new in package at a yard sale. I do use it for the occasional eyelet I also have my original corner rounder (EK Success) that I lost for probably a decade and recently re-found.

I thought of a QOTD yesterday, and wondered whether I should write it down. "No no," I said to myself, "I will remember!"
Readers, I do not remember.
But as I am sitting here in the office in the city, looking out over a grey and drizzly Melbourne winter's day, I am dreaming about my tropical holiday in four weeks. I can't wait to do some lovely beach and summery layouts. So....
QOTD: What is your favourite season to scrap?
Mine is definitely summer. I love doing beach layouts. I also enjoy spring layouts, because it means summer is not far away.
I noticed a few pink blossoms on the cherry blossom trees in the park near my house yesterday, even though we are still a month away from Spring. We usually don't start to see blossoms until a week or two into August.

QOTD: What is your favourite season to scrap?
I like working on spring/summer pictures also. They'll generally be outside pictures on mostly nice, sunny days.
Today, I finally sorted through my greeting card collections. There were dozens - some I made, some were from swaps and a lot were store bought. Some of them were such specific occasions - new home, engagement, you're going through a tough time take care of yourself. I don't know why I would buy them and not send them. I set aside stack to send donate to one of the places listed in the card forum.
Completed layouts are on deck for this week.

QOTD: What is your favourite season to scrap? If I have the photos, I love scrapping FALL. The season lasts about 5 minutes around here and I love preserving all the pretty colours. What is more fun to scrap than kids playing in piles of leaves? Outdoor photos at any time, and summer provides the best chance of those. Right now I have a ton of pic's of kids splashing in the lake and the local splash park, riding dirt bikes and going down the Slip n Slide in our yard, so I am a happy scrapper...

An easy Monday morning question... QOTD: What, if any, are your scrappy plans for this week? I need to create a sample for a sketch I found for the next Sketchy Saturday. But first I need to finish a LO that has its guts scattered all over my scraproom. Either that, or just put that one away for a rest until I can figure out what I am actually doing with it ...

Playing a little catch up first...
QOTD: What is your favourite season to scrap?
Probably christmas/winter. I tend to like this holiday's products the most and some of my favorite layouts that I've made are within this season. I have a lot of photos still to be scrapped during this time.
QOTD: What, if any, are your scrappy plans for this week?
I'm going to finish out christmas in July with making cards through Wednesday. On Thursday I'm FaceTime crafting with a friend - I think we might be doing some PinkFresh event prep if she receives her class supplies this week.

Good afternoon scrappy people!
Question for everyone: What’s the easiest way to incorporate logging points for specific challenges into your workflow? I don’t want to power on my computer each time and printing out the challenges results in several sheets of paper to go through each time I complete a page. I’m wondering if I should print out a list focused on the challenges I think I’ll meet and log those.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if this helps, @petscrapper, but I print the multi page list once. Then I check off challenges as they are met. At the end of the month I set a new column at the left for check marks for the next month.
I think if I wanted to be reminded of particular challenges, I would highlight those, maybe before printing? Or manually after printing.
The key is not to stress about it and just have fun!

I don't actually even try to meet challenges for the most part. I mostly just do my thing and take photos of each project to get the sharing points. At the end of the month, I read through the challenges and flip through my photos and see how I did.
I do always do the sheetload of cards challenges and usually try to get the bonus points.

QOTD: What is your favourite season to scrap?I don't really have a favorite season. But I do like to scrap the same season I am currently in? QOTD: What, if any, are your scrappy plans for this week?
Hum, maybe finish the cards I started yesterday, and at least spend some time in my craft room? Watched some Jennifer McGuire today while doing my pedicure.
DH is improving and has PT tomorrow. He's at about 30% of normal.

QOTD: What, if any, are your scrappy plans for this week? I'm hoping to finish up the last few lessons of Shimelle's half & half class - but I need some energy first. DH did indeed manage to share his covid germs with me despite our best efforts. I print the challenges but don't log points until the end of the month (last round, I didn't until the end of quarter - not reccommended). I share all my projects in the sharing thread and when it's time to count, I go through the thread one layout or card at a time. I do flip through the challenges for inspiration through the quarter.

My plans for the week - well, the next two days anyway - is to cram in as many of the team challenges as possible, before we start again for August. I have three (I think) half finished layouts.

That's how I do it too. QOTD about seasons: I don't mind the season as long as there is some sunshine. We have a lot of very grey days here and it's the worst for taking cheerful photos. Somehow there's still a ton of glare even though the sky is featureless grey. I love sunshine and flowers, sunshine and snow, sunshine and fall leaves and wet roads. QOTD about plans: I'm working through that classic cozy Christmas collection, seeing what cards I can make. I've been a bit slow the last couple of days but I'm hoping to choose another Sheetload and get a bunch done. I have one paper to make a decision about how to cut - very busy little birds on one side and 12 cut aparts on the other, the same as the ones I've already used. Trying to make sure I don't run out of paper for bases or run out of focal points. I might have to * make a plan * !!

I don't have any specific plans. Ideally, I would make something for the weekly sketch challenge at ACOT. I like the sketch a lot but I have to think about pictures to use and then actually do it.

Favorite season to scrap. Not sure if I have a favorite season back when we took summer vacations those would be my favorite. Now probably spring and fall (extremely short here) as the weather is the nicest.
Not sure of this week yet. I have an online class that disappears on the 31 or maybe that’s the last day to view. So I am hoping to finish those cards tomorrow afternoon. I can’t remember do we get points for time in classes? I have watched several lately.
I also need to add up points and get those posted.

I can’t remember do we get points for time in classes? I have watched several lately. You get 10 points/hour for *any* crafting which I think would 100% include time in classes! QOTD: Seasons - I used to be a 100% SUMMER gal, because the world has so much more colour and we play outside a lot. But I'm creating myself a new season: TRAVEL. I'm a travel season scrapper Plans - since I'm home sick, I have managed to scrap a bit, but my tolerance is low. I'm working on 2021 photos - I have them all sorted and plans for what layouts I plan to create with them. I go back to work Thursday and work through the long weekend here, so I'd better play while I can!

linda I know how you feel about getting Covid despite your best efforts. I hope it’s not a bad experience for you and you recover quickly. angel97701 I’m glad your husband is getting pt and experiencing some relief. I hope you feel better soon kitbop. Scrapper100 I hope you were able to get your cards done. christinec68 I empathize with the struggle to find pics for using sketches and following through. Like AussieMeg I’m trying to get challenges in too. I haven’t mentioned everyone, but thank you to those who replied about my question on logging challenges. The hardest part is remembering to log things that aren’t obvious by looking at the finished project. My partner moved to start his new job today so I’m a bit brokenhearted over here. He didn’t want to take it but I encouraged him to do it anyway because he’s been on a 2 year struggle to find well paying employment related to his degree. After speaking to several providers in the new state I decided to stay here longer than anticipated to avoid astronomical medical bills. We’re making plans to move me there in a year or so when my health is hopefully 🤞🏽 more stable. After a decade of seeing each other whenever we want this will be quite an adjustment.

I'm sorry that you're in that situation @petscrapper . It must have been an incredibly tough decision to make, for both of you. If the next 12 months goes as quickly as the last 12 months seem to have flown by, you'll be together again before you know it. How far away will he be? Is it a car drive or a plane ride? And how often do you think you'll be able to see him.
DSO and I have good friends who were in a similar situation. They lived here in Melbourne (east coast) and she got a huge promotion which meant she had to move to Perth for 12 months (west coast, 4 hour flight away) and he stayed here for his job. Well, the 12 months is now up, and she has just moved back home - we're catching up with them this weekend. It honestly doesn't feel like she's been away for 12 months already, the time really flew by. (Of course it helped that he was able to fly over there twice a month.)
(((Hugs))) to you.

@petscrapper may the next 12 months fly by! Prayers that your health improves and you are able to see him IRL frequently, and facetime is helpful too!
DH is still on the mend, PT today made him feel nauseous and have a headache. This is the first time he's experienced anything like this. I've travelled the path before, and as many know healing is cyclic! As for me I had a CST massage today, so nice! I also was able to ask my health practioner about my continued issues with IBS. Eating anything raw makes the next day unpleasant if there is not a restroom close by. She said in her case (also IBS) it took three years to be able to consume raw foods and digest them effectively. That gives me some hope.
Finishing some cards this evening

Oh, @petscrapper, that is a tough decision! I hope that you will be able to connect through electronics and that he can travel home to see you often.
I just spent a chunk of time calculating July points. Still have a couple of cards and the last set of LO's to figure out. I have been jotting down comments as I do them, but have to really stop to figure out my hours. I keep tellin' ya: do this regularly. But this time I let it slide. Grrrr.....

He didn’t have a choice in the location of his placement for reasons I won’t go into. We knew this going in. It’s a plane ride away and we’re hoping to see each other once a month (except for August) to start with. Also thank you everyone for your concern and support. It means a lot to me.
