I know you were struggling with how to manage this move and your health situation for a while, @petscrapper . I'm sorry this was the best possible scenario to balance all the factors and hope it goes as smoothly and quickly as possible. kitbop and Linda so sorry you've both been hit with the dread virus -- speedy recovery wishes to both. joblackford VERY grateful you quoted/highlighted the post where Linda mentioned Covid. I couldn't find it to save my life! I've always really appreciated the chat threads for keeping up with Challenge teammates everyday lives, even more than the crafty chat. I know I'm just one little Pea in a great big Pod, but TBH the QoEverySingleD is making me a little crazy. It's just a bit too much.

TBH the QoEverySingleD is making me a little crazy. It's just a bit too much. You know you don't need to answer every one, right ? But to recognise your interest in our everyday lives... QOTD: What are you doing today? Give us a rundown of your day, whether you are working, vacationing, crafting or relaxing.Today I hope to finish the two page LO that has been occupying my desk for a week. But I also need to pick a couple of gallons of raspberries, and do some canning and freezing of the berries and peas that are waiting for me in the fridge. (2 gallons of shelled peas, one gallon of saskatoon berries, and half a gallon of extracted Nanking cherry juice. This time of year it is always a juggling act of picking and preserving veggies and berries.

QOTD: What are you doing today? Give us a rundown of your day, whether you are working, vacationing, crafting or relaxing I've folded laundry and started a new load, run Rosie(robot vac), and worn myself out, lol. Hoping to muster the energy to do more laundry and maybe scrapbook? I do need to count points and my brain isn't feeling quite as foggy so that be a good task.

Yes, grammadee , I know I don't need to answer every one (you'll notice I haven't been). But I'm getting overwhelmed even trying to read the answers to every single one, especially when they're more tightly scrapbook-focused and more difficult for me to relate to. And then I start skimming instead of reading and then I miss important news of the sort that I want to read and react to. I end up feeling like a dummy that I didn't. I like the idea of gardening and putting up food far more than the reality of it, so I love living vicariously through your posts, grammadee . I am now halfway through the last of my three Weird Weeks -- not yet working, no longer job-seeking, trying to stay productive and get done as many of those things that you never seem to find time for when you're working full time -- gathering stuff for donations, trashing stuff that's not actually worth donating. Trying to get organized to start a new job and then pretty quickly turn around and go on vacation. Wondering why I'm not feeling excited about the new job or obsessing about what I'm going to wear on Monday....

QOTD: What are you doing today? Give us a rundown of your day, whether you are working, vacationing, crafting or relaxing. Today, I am WFH until 3pm then I have some doctor appointments. I'm hoping to be home 6-6:30. I might have to do some more work while I watch Big Brother. grammadee - so nice to have all that fresh produce <3 I've been on a raspberry kick since the spring. I'll buy a couple of packs then freeze them to eat during the week. They are even delicious frozen. Shakti - I hope you get to do all the things you want to get done before you start the new job. Where are you going for vacation? (I'm sorry for missing that). Linda - try not push yourself too much while you're recovering. @petscrapper - I am so sorry the best resolution to your situation is to be apart from your partner.

QOTD: What are you doing today? Give us a rundown of your day, whether you are working, vacationing, crafting or relaxing. I’m off today. I’m about to watch the Olympic b-ball game between PR & SRB. Then I’m going to an arthritis aqua class (assuming the heated therapeutic pool isn’t down for maintenance). Following that, I have a Dr’s appt. If I still have energy I’m going to start straightening my scrap area as it’s become a bit of a dumping ground the last few weeks and I’m hoping to scrap this weekend. I’m also intermittently watching my partner slowly make his way across the US on “find my friends” 😆 and FaceTiming with him during his stops. Right now though, I have a hungry kitty to feed. Wishing everyone a good day!

You are most certainly not a dummy. Try to give yourself some grace (((hugs))). I pea on mobile and I have a difficult time keeping up with threads too. I have a draft in notes where I shouted out specific peas I was responding to. By the time I replied it wasn’t relevant because the thread moved on. I ended up abandoning it. I’ve done this more than a few times. Now I just try to keep up as best as I can and give myself grace because I’m on mobile and the tendons in my fingers get angry. Sometimes all I get to do is “like” because my fingers are limited. All that to say we all have our challenges and things we are dealing with. Thank you so much for your thoughts about my “moving” situation. Congrats on the job! As you’re preparing for your job and vacation please know we enjoy hearing from you whenever and however you can. Please don’t judge yourself by how often and what you can keep up with. Wishing you the best with the transition!

I like the idea of gardening and putting up food far more than the reality of it, Me too! But some of my favourite tastes in the world have to do with fresh berries and veggies, so I make sure I get my hit of all those tastes as I am picking and preserving.

I don't know if I'll ever get a robot vac but now I know for sure what I want to name it!! We got off to a late start this morning after staying up until 11pm to watch the women's gymnastics on TV. It's already lunchtime and I haven't done much, but I'm sitting down to do some quick computer things and then I'll get some food and watch some YTs and then I'm going to try and make finish lots of cards. I went for a long walk yesterday and was too tired to glue down more than 2 cards afterwards.

I 100% agree I don't know if I'll ever get a robot vac but now I know for sure what I want to name it!! is this where I mention that my robot mop is named Eve? I'm almost caught up on laundry. The downstairs is vacuumed (by Rosie) and Eve is mopping the kitchen. Dishwasher is loaded and I'm ready for a nap, lol We got bad news on the car front today - it needs a water pump and it's going to be $4k - OUCH. And we're still waiting for the tree guys to come back out and deal with a tree that fell a couple of weeks ago and that'll be nearly another $1k when they do. My house must think we have a money tree in the backyard...spoiler alert - we don't.

Linda you are too sweet! Thank you! To answer the vacation question from above, we are going to Pine Point, Maine. I have a robot swiffer, but I keep leaving it plugged in and not using it often enough, so the batteries die in that weird way they do when you treat them that way....

The reason we did a QOTD was to get engagement and participation on this thread. Having said that, I was actually going to message grammadee to say that I won't be able to keep up the the QOTD this month (we were alternating the posting of the QOTD). I have a lot going on at work, plus I will be away for the last week of August. ETA: I don't know what's going on with my quote feature today, that's the second time it has not picked up the text of what I was quoting.

How is everyone doing today? I have the company of an 11 year old all day, and we just spent about 90 minutes out in the garden picking peas and weeding. Before he came I managed to slap together a quick anniversary card for his mom to pop into the post office this morning. August kinda took me by surprise, so that one had to go out QUICK!
We can suspend the QOTD, but I would love to hear from you as we start this new month...
How did you do in July? Have you added up your points yet? We had a busy month. Lots of photos taken. Not nearly as many pages as I would put together in a less busy month. Still need to finish calculating points for the last few projects before I figure out my July total & any bonuses I may have earned.
What is ahead in August? I need to create about 6 cards STAT! birthdays and anniversaries. And I want to get some pages done, too, but not sure how much time I will have.
What is your go-to if you need to make a quick page or card? I fell back on my VB card kit for the one I did this morning. Takes the thinking and matching out of the equation.

Hello - Happy August!! I am super cranky today and everyone is annoying me so I treated myself to a flavored coffee. Linda - sorry about the car and the pending tree removal bill. Shakti - that's weird how it happens with batteries, isn't it? Enjoy your trip to Maine! grammadee - it was nice to have some gardening help! I haven't counted my July points yet. They're definitely on the low side being as I made 1 whole layout. But I did spend a chunk of time organizing stuff. I'll try to do better this month. At the very least, I have the prep class for VB next workshop at the end of the month. Are the July & August points combined or do we post them separately? I know we can restart with the challenge list.

I usually do a somewhat detailed accounting each month in the points tracking thread. I think I started doing it that way my first quarter because I was afraid I was calculating wrong and hoped someone would tell me if so. Now I've just gotten used to doing it that way....

I usually just record the month's points on the counting thread (just in case I go AWOL) and then at the end of the quarter, or two months in this case, send the combined total to the team leader.

I got off to a good start by calculating all my points first thing and in a minute I'm going to close the laptop and then remember that I opened it specifically to record those points on the counting thread (doh!) I'm on track to finish up the collection I've been using today or tomorrow, depending on how obsessive I get about the scraps. This month's big goal is to start properly organizing my donation cards - stamp greetings inside, bundle them up (even if the drive isn't until next spring), put them in boxes, etc. I tend to leave all that stuff to the last minute but it would be much more manageable if I did it as I go.

I have a bunch more photos to label and sort, more layouts to make, and no doubt some cards as well. I haven't really thought through an August plan yet. What is your go-to if you need to make a quick page or card? a sketch

Just calculated my July points and posted the numbers in the Rules thread. Whew! Please make me do this as I go along this month...
I found my missing photo pack--while I was looking for something else, of course. But no time to scrap today. Or tomorrow. Hoping I can perhaps put a couple of pages together Sunday. Or at least finish my August cards!

I have some half-drafted cards on my desk this morning but a friend is coming over so I don't know if I'll get much crafting time today. And tomorrow I have to spend most of the day in the garden. I signed our garden up for a local garden tour, nothing very big, but I need to hang around outside and show people around if they come (not sure how well publicized it is this year). I'll be forced to do all the weeding and pruning I have been putting off. Ideally before the people come! but I can putter around whenever no one is visiting. I got the last of the Christmas papers cut yesterday, used the latest Sheetload sketch for some. I need to do some die cutting to finish them off because I've run out of focal images. Just a few scraps to use up after that

How did you do in July? Have you added up your points yet?
I didn’t get as much done in July as I’d hoped I would… so much going on here the last few weeks. I’m hoping August will be less stressful. But I am happy I did at least get a few pages done plus I organized and ordered a whole bunch of photos. And I’m glad I started posting here a bit after being a lurker for years! I’m going to go and look over the points sheets this afternoon and try to figure that out. Hopefully I do it right!
What is ahead in August?
I hope to get a lot more pages done in August. Like I’m hoping at least a dozen. I have a couple on my desk right now that I will finish up today. It’s a long weekend here in Ontario and DH and I have no plans other than some garden chores, so I plan on scrapping all weekend and watching the Olympics. DH said he’d bring home pizza for dinner so I don’t even have to cook tonight. I’ll just throw together a salad.
What is your go-to if you need to make a quick page or card?
I would say a sketch also or a simple grid layout. Most of my pages are pretty simple anyway.

How did you do in July? - Admittedly, I didn’t scrap during the month of July, but I did other things to get points.
What is ahead in August? - I’m signed up for a virtual class and crop tomorrow. I’m also so very exhausted. I’ve yet to straighten my scrappy area as planned and I haven’t had time to prep. I’m hoping to prep and scrap along tomorrow. We’ll see.
What is your go-to if you need to make a quick page or card? - I’m not much of a card maker. I have a card making kit from forever ago that I pull out if I must make a card.
I’m also a slow scrapper. I don’t have a go to for quick pages because they don’t exist in my realm 😆. I find I scrap quicker when I have enough coordinating product to stifle my hoarding tendencies. I always have more ideas than time and I try to preserve product for some unknown project I’ll never get to in the future. I’m getting better at not doing that though.

Made a few cards at the beginning of the month then have been in my room twice at the end of the month. Still need to do points.
What is ahead in August? Hum, hopefully some crafting, and I keep saying working on a scrapbook . . . but summer is short here. Plus now I have a trip to Oregon for a quick stop to see my Mom and DH is going to see DSD, then drive out to MN. Long story, DSD has a large black German Shepherd and she cannot find a dog sitter. She gets carsick on roadtrips even when she drives, so DH is driving her here then back to Seattle. What is your go-to if you need to make a quick page or card?
Definitely sketch for a layout, and a quick card is to my left over scraps for inspiration.

I didn’t scrap in July but made 18 cards and watched several classes and did a lot of organizing. I need to figure out my points still.
August. I’m hoping to make more cards, watch more classes and more organizing.
I love to use sketches for cards. It’s a great starting off point. Grab some paper, stamps and dies and go.

Do you have the 11yo with you all weekend? Hope you’re having lots of fun even though there’s no crafting time. Those events at the beginning of a month are sneaky - I’ve had to put reminders in my phone one or two weeks ahead for birthdays in the first week of any month. This morning the cool marine layer rolled in so it’s a bit gloomy but it won’t get quite so hot today. But without the morning sunshine I’m a bit slow to get going. Is anyone else solar powered? I don’t need to be outside in it but I get energized by bright skies, especially in the morning. Time to get my gardening clothes on and make things presentable for the garden tourists.
