joblackford , those sentiments are indeed awesome. I would get the dies to increase both flexibility and resale value. I guess I have developed a bit of sort of FOMO-based FSS where I figure I’ll probably be struck by an inspiration involving die-cutting the leaves the instant the bundle is retired. But you are generally less silly than I. If I use up all my fun there’s a craft shop (though probably a tourist-trappy one) a 10-minute drive or 20-minute trolley ride away in Old Orchard Beach. Even more exciting — a crafty reuse store a 20-minute drive away! Forgot to mention we did manage a 2.5 mile walk on the beach Sunday morning just before the rain started. Hope grammadee is rockin’ the ski lodge craftiness while DGS rocks survival camp and that everyone else’s weeks are going well! I don't know anything about how Maine to know if it's close to where you are, but I would love to go to their coastal botanical gardens to see the Thomas Dambo trolls www.mainegardens.org/events-exhibits/giant-trolls/

Shakti - lovely Lego build! DH has been working on an Architecture White House set lately Today is primary election day here - there's only two races on my ballot - sheriff and county commissioner - and both will be decided today so perhaps primary isn't the right word, maybe local election day? So I've been reading their websites and FB pages to firm up my choices. Commissioner is non-partisan (although it's obvious all 3 belong to a single political party) and there are only 2 candidates (from the same political party) for sheriff. My area is 70+% aligned to that party and I'm an independent who leans the other way. Sigh.

Bummer of an election, Linda. joblackford, I am so happy you mentioned your troll adventure in a prior quarter chat thread. We are about an hour and a half south of Boothbay Harbor and our plan AS SOON AS THE WEATHER COOPERATES is absolutely to go see two or three of those trolls!

I don't know where it will stream (currently a limited theater release) but the documentary Majority Rules might interest you. It's about how Alaska changed its election system to allow for open primaries and ranked choice voting, which helps independents have more of a voice in state and local elections. It's also pretty entertaining

Welp, weather’s improving, two-mile walk this afternoon, troll trek planned for tomorrow…
…and I started becoming concerned that my morning sniffles were consolidating into a constant runny nose and my throat was increasingly sore, not quite in a post nasal drip way.
I just flunked a Covid test for the first time!

Just checking in after getting home from my day at the ski lodge. Six hours of crafting time. I completed three two-pagers, and have a good start on four more. For some reason, I had not packed letter stickers, so no titles on those four.

great job grammadee - looking forward to seeing them Shakti - hopefully you're not feeling too badly Disappointed in my county - less than 33% turnout for our local election yesterday. We did elect a new sheriff but our commissioner race went to a run-off because no one got 50%+ of the vote. Unfortunately the one I voted for came in 3rd so won't be an option in Nov. Instead I'll have a choice between the incumbent who is 80+ and has been in office for over 30 years or the challenger whose website told me absolutely nothing about him or his views but had prominent buttons to donate to and endorse him.

I am feeling well enough that we are forging ahead with the troll plan.
I’m sorry the results were so disappointing, Linda.

On a scale of 1 to 10 on how productive I've been at work today, I'd give myself a big fat NOT AT ALL. I work better under pressure with deadlines of which I don't really have at the moment. Not saying there aren't things to do - I just don't need them in the next week or so. But I did cook a batch of chicken, put laundry away, cleaned the kitchen, and made the bed. We're experiencing fake fall right now - it's cool, breezy and sunny out. We slept with the windows open last and had the best night of sleep in a while and the apartment feels fresh and aired out. I have a doctor appoint at 4:10 - I need to start getting ready in an hour. I might work after since I didn't do much today or I might do something crafty. I need to make vinyl labels for some spice jars, cut out a half circle ring to finish up a layout and I want to start sorting pictures (still haven't started that project )

Great Troll photo, Shakti ! Ya GOTTA scrap that one! And glad the virus is not hitting you so hard you needed to forego this adventure. Sad for your disappointing election results, Linda . Days like that would not be so bad, christinec68, if they didn't take F-O-R-E-V-E-R... Here's to better days ahead! This evening, I managed to finish off my LO's from yesterday, but it was too late to photograph and post them. Will try to get that done tomorrow. Not sure if I will have to take dgs again on Friday. If so, I will need to pack a whole new set of page kits, since I used all the ones I had packed for yesterday.

grammadee - it wasn't a bad day. I got things done around the house that needed to get done. Work is mostly quiet so all is good. Something popped in my email while I was at the doctor so I knocked that out this evening. Good for you finishing up the those last layouts. I took a nap when I got home which is why I am up way past my bedtime. I'll be paying for this in about 6 hours - tomorrow I'm in the office.

Yesterday I had a rare day of no crafting at all. I barely got in a little crochet time right before bed, but the rest of the day was a bust. We went over to FIL’s to celebrate his birthday a little early - he fed us a massive bowl of red rock and Dungeness crab he had caught! This huge bowl for 4 people. I love crab but it was a LOT: Crab! by jo.blackford, on Flickr After that I loaded up two more boxes of random Delftware, china, glass, and collectibles guides to find new homes for, which always leaves me a little exhausted (and sneezy). Today I get to wash them all and figure out how to sell them. Add onto that a few eBay auctions ending and buyers not reading the messages and listings properly, sigh… but 6 more Hummels are out the door today. We’re having a false fall this week, very gloomy. I need to make my own sunshine!

I'm home! To windy rainy weather. Tuesday afternoon DSD and I went out on the SUP boards, and taught both GSD's how to go on a SUP. Pretty funny, and the dogs got wet, but neither of them tipped us over. I took DSD dog 2 and our dog twice. She started with her dog. Neither one suprisingly likes water. All our other GSDs loved water. It's kinda nice though we don't have wet mops smell everyday . . .
Trip to OR was great! Nice visit with my sister. Good naturopath appointment with great new information. Two days at the Oregon Coast with my Mom with some beach time and great Dungeness Crab (YUM, right joblackford? loved those fall sentiments too.) Very first dinner at my brother's new home on some property on Saturday evening. Church with my Mom, then a little tax free shopping in Oregon for things you can't find in MN. Then a flight home, stayed the night with the IL's, and back to Gull Lake on Tuesday.
Crafting wise, I went to a great shop in Salem Oregon that has stamps, dies, scrapbooking paper, paper and mixed media supplies. It is a lovely store. I purchased some new vellum because my stash is now and some glossy card stock, that works great of ink blending, etc. Also some new Derwent Inktense blocks to try some new water coloring techniques. And a few BetterPress plates. I really should spend some time playing with my new toys!
DSD is here until 8/26, she cut the trip short . . . DH is not happy as she is going to AZ to see "buttercup" boyfriend who didn't pop the question. She thinks she will be breaking up with him, and wants to do it in person. I understand that totally, DH is adamant that he come to her. He moved 3 months ago to Yuma, as he is a Green Beret and moves every two years. His Loss with DSD!

Thank you everyone for the camaraderie and support. I genuinely appreciate our interactions and wish you all the best for the future.

Sorry I haven't been around much this quarter. I haven't scrapped much either, not all year honestly. I need to remind myself to get in the sharing thread more often and see allllll of the beautiful inspiration there! It sparks my creativity.
Even though I haven't scrapped much, I still shop and the Elle's Studio December release has me wanting to do a DD this year. I saw Katie Perteit is no longer designing for 49 and Market and is going to focus on her own digital shop again. It will be interesting to see where 49 and Market goes next.

Wishing you all a fine Friday morning! Got any weekend plans?
Hoping to get one page done this morning, but then nothing until at least Sunday. Have some appointments this morning, and then need to pick dgs up from his camp this afternoon. Tomorrow dd & fam will be here to help with garden/yard.
Heads up! one more week to pile up the points--and count 'em...
