Happy Friday!! It's been a long week but today and yesterday have been good days. GORGEOUS weather, good mood, productive at work and some good sleep. Tomorrow we're celebrating our anniversary a little early by going to see Wicked. We saw it years ago and absolutely loved it. When we saw a trailer for the movie my husband said he wanted to see it again. Our anniversary is next month but the show is closing at the end of this month. We'll grab something to eat afterwards. I'm looking forward to it. Not much else is going on. I want to do some crafty stuff and organize pictures and all the things I keep saying I need/want to do but haven't made time for.

Hello all,
With DSD here and catching up from traveling, no time in the craft space. ILs are coming, DH and DSD are driving down 5+ hours to get them. DSD doesn't get to see them often, and day trip with SIL was cancelled due to her ER trip for Covid last night.
joyfulnana not scrapping or card making enough, but shopping for new toys is fine for me too Shakti how is your vacay going? linda it is distressing to not have mojo . . . but you always seem to find yours much faster than I do!
Well off to finish chores and maybe even get to my craft space?

angel97701, on my summer vacation I assembled 19 cards, saw five giant trolls, read two books, built one Lego, got one sunburn, and caught one case of Covid!

angel97701 , on my summer vacation I assembled 19 cards, saw five giant trolls, read two books, built one Lego, got one sunburn, and caught one case of Covid! Yeah for everything but the Covid! I read one book, made no cards, watched the Pacific Ocean, built no Lego, and didn't hurt myself until I got home by getting off the escalator with two bags and later the next day kicked a huge rock in the lake and split my little toe open.

Sorry I haven't been around much this quarter. I haven't scrapped much either, not all year honestly. I need to remind myself to get in the sharing thread more often and see allllll of the beautiful inspiration there! It sparks my creativity. Even though I haven't scrapped much, I still shop and the Elle's Studio December release has me wanting to do a DD this year. I saw Katie Perteit is no longer designing for 49 and Market and is going to focus on her own digital shop again. It will be interesting to see where 49 and Market goes next. Oh wow, I know a lot of fans of that brand here will probably be bummed to hear that. It seems like her design work has been the crux of their success in the past couple of years. I finally got myself into my chair today. Yesterday I was so totally done after washing all the dust and grime off dozens of antique bowls and tchotchkes that I just sat down with videos and vegged the rest of the day. Today I figured that if I at least sat down with my crafts I might putter around and get something done, and I did. A bit of stamping, a bit of die cutting. I still haven't figured out how to design some cards I should make, but at least I played with the supplies enough that my subconscious might start working on a solution. I've barely finished any cards this month. I will look for some easy wins next week.

I'm not too thrilled with the sunburn, either!
I will not be going to yoga today for obvious reasons, so I will have extra crafty time today! The dog walk in the woods tomorrow, being outdoors and all, is a possibility though. I'd really rather be having the very normal, boring, getting-ready-for-the-work-week-ahead weekend I'd been planning.
So, I haven't managed to make some sort of standalone mini-album of the weekend in CT in May. I now have this troll adventure in Maine (and I should be able to get my hands on some photos taken at the RI trolls, too. I really did enjoy scrapping the Italy trip in 6x8 layouts (as opposed to pocket pages), perhaps because the "canvas" size is similar to a greeting card. While I like the flip book style album for that single-topic format, I happen to already have a supply of single-pocket, two-ring 6x8 page protectors. I got one set for storing when paying too much attention to organization videos and another when I was working on my flip books (ordered the wrong style accidentally). The 2" thick binders from SS and SB.C look intimidatingly large, but If I'm just adding two or four pages when the mood strikes, maybe it will be ok?

Happy early anniversary, christinec68 . Enjoy the theatre! Glad you had a relaxing vacation, angel97701 , and yay to getting out on the lake! Hope you are feeling better, Shakti . You always amaze me with how much pressure you put on yourself. I think you could really have fun scrapping your spring/summer adventures if you just let yourself PLAY. The 6x8 canvas should work for you if you think of one 4x6 portrait photo with a title and a little journaling, or simply two 4x6 landscape pic's. On the other hand, if you find it fun to set up mini albums with fancy folds, paper bag pockets, fold outs, then go for that. Above all, have FUN! joblackford , you have been so busy with the garden and family and your decluttering project. Hope you find some "easy wins" this week. Not sure when dd & family will be out here this weekend, so not starting any crafty projects this morning. Need to go out to the garden to pick cukes and cut out one ginormous zucchini that must have escaped me last weekend. Right now I am doing some catching up on this board. Started calculating August points. Need to start the sign ups for Q-4!
Link to sign up for Q-4 is HERE

I found a little stash of negative space pieces from a “hi” die cut while I was puttering this morning. If I glue those down onto some bases I can finish at least a dozen cards and bonus win, tidy up my space a tiny bit

Well, remember, I'm not really a scrapbooker at all -- those Italy albums were the only scrappy project I've completed in about 20 years. And even back in the day I think I only ever finished one small album. I have NO IDEA if I like to set up mini albums. But since the 6x8 format worked once (and I think that one project I finished before was a 5x7), it makes sense to stick with it and see if I get further. Maybe someday I'll even think about tackling all the UFOs....

Ah, wonderful weather on Gull Lake today. Up to see the wooden boat show, wonderful antique boats! Then paddled on the SUP with the dogs--too windy for anything else. Boat ride with the family ILs, DSD, DS, and DH. So NICE! Pork Tenderloin and wild rice for dinner.

Have a wonderful last Sunday of August, crafty PEA-ple. It is chilly and windy here. Hoping I don't have to pick off my tomatoes to save them from frost. Isn't hail damage from last week enough?
Still working on calculating my August points. I have one page ready to post next Saturday, but not sure if I will have anything else finished before the end of the month.

Thanks, grammadee!
Unsurprisingly, while I have PLENTY of time on my hands, I don't seem to have a lot of creative energy this weekend. I finished up the stuff I was working on on vacation yesterday and today I'm going a lot of puttering/organizing/tidying/etc.
Seems like point-tallying will fit right in....

I finally have something finished to share! I should probably hold off until they're finished inside as well, but I'm just happy to have glued something down after a week or more of batch die cutting and stamping with no finished products to show for it.

Just could not get my mojo flowing today. Spent the afternoon in my craft room, and tried several different techniques for a card and nothing came together. About 3 hours and nothing stuck. Alas. But I had fun with stencils, ink, and shimmer sprays. Last night I played with markers and a very old bolio stamp from Judikens.

Happy Monday?!! It was a good weekend. The show was amazing but I don't know why I thought it was closing this month. Either way, we're glad we went and I loved it as much as I did the first time I saw it. I didn't craft per se but I did finally start organizing my pictures and I think I figured out how I will organize my layouts when I get to that part. angel97701 - sorry about the toe (ouch!). It sounds like you had a great day on the lake! Shakti - your vacation certainly has had some ups and downs. I hope your covid and sunburn have improved. joblackford - it's such a nice feeling when you finish the prep work and get to start pulling everything together. grammadee - thanks for the point counting reminder and the sign up link. I am very excited for Q4. I didn't get too much done this quarter but it did start to get my head back in the game after a really long time of not doing much of anything craft related. joyfulnana - I've been the same way with not too much scrappy mojo. Hoping you find some inspiration in the share thread/gallery. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. Wishing you all a great week ahead.
I will be busy in the kitchen for much of today. Have all the veggies gathered for relish from my garden and some of them cut up. This morning I will be cutting up the rest of them and running them all through the food processor. This afternoon I will be heating and jarring the resulting relish.

The "One Big Win" class I'm taking starts today and my goal is very ambitious, to sell or donate all of the Hummels by Oct 21! I had a sick feeling of dread that it was impossible, so I think that makes it a great goal 8 weeks of concerted effort... If I don't succeed by that date I will still have made a huge push through them. Maybe at that point I just call it done and give away the remaining ones, or I can extend the project for a few extra weeks and still be done by Thanksgiving when the family comes out. I'm imagining the shock and happiness of them seeing that cabinet empty and handing over some money and being DONE! (with a project I never thought we'd get to, and I never wanted to do myself). So anyway, progress I got off to a pretty good start today

Good luck joblackford! May the Hummels be gone to new homes soon. grammadee hope your canning has gone well. christinec68 Glad you enjoyed your show. Toe is better thankfully. Shakti hope back to work went well now that you are home and somewhat rested! Linda First full week of school for DD? I too need to count points but it will be easy this month! DH and DSD left to drive back to Puyallup, WA (suburb of Seattle) this morning. Sadly DH's back was really unhappy today. Spent most of my morning doing laundry and making beds, putting the house back together. Then a much needed nap. Spent time in my craft room and DID make two cards by combining the two experiments. It is color challenge for my DT. Finally please with the end product. The acorns are falling out of the trees . . . we have a vaulted ceiling in our great room, and it magnifies the noise. Means summer is coming to a close. However the weather is 82 degrees with an average of 87% humidity. This morning the temperature was a dew point, you could feel the tiny drops of condensation. AC is on to allow the house to NOT swell, the doors weren't closing right this morning.

Tomorrow is her senior picnic grammadee -I hope the kitchen work went smoothly I didn't sleep well the past couple of nights so am struggling with motivation and energy. Plus I had PT today which always wears me out some. But I got my prints of DD's senior photos in the mail today so hopefully will get to them soon-ish

grammadee I have a question about points calculations for Q3. I didn't realise that Q3 was only going to be two months long, instead of three. (Aaaargh, that will teach me to procrastinate with layouts I planned to do haha!). Some of the challenges have points based on three months. For example, you get a bonus for completing ten Sketchy Saturday sketches, and a bonus for completing all three Donna challenges, but now there will only be 8 or 9 Sketchy Saturdays, and only two Donna challenges.

If anyone has time to take on an extra Donna Challenge or Sketchy Saturday in this short quarter, they should be able to go to those challenges posted in past quarters to get their bonus. I haven't calculated bonuses yet and wasn't even been looking at those big quarterly bonuses LOL. Was happy to get three sketches done this month, so will have to remember to claim the bonus...

Good morning! Beautiful word picture of fall, angel97701. Hope you feel reenergized soon and that DD's senior year is magnificent, Linda! There was one piece of ephemera from the CT weekend I feared was too big to fit on a 6x8 page, which is why I thought I had to make a bespoke mini-album. I pulled out my 6x8 page protectors and it fit! So that's nice -- I really was sort of intimidated by my own plan there. It is very true that my complicated feelings about all my old scrapbooking projects make me very cautious about starting new ones. There's the obvious guilt over spending so much time and money and not producing anything, but there's also some sort of sense of loss or something like that. I definitely don't want to start anything I don't think I can finish...I'm sure that's where some of this "pressure" comes from.

Good luck with your One Big Win goal, joblackford! When are you back to work, Shakti? Hoping you are enjoying your vacation, AussieMeg. Senior photos would be a great boost to MY mojo, Linda. Hope they do the trick for you. Have you reclaimed your energy yet, angel97701. Glad you could turn some of your art experiments into cards. Love when that happens. Last week I used a panel I had stenciled last summer and decided not to use. Tucked it into an envelope of summer diecuts then and discovered it just when I needed it. Glad you enjoyed the play, christinec68. Too funny about the dates, but better this way than thinking it was still running and planning to go after it closed. No crafting today for me. Have an appointment this morning. Then this afternoon I am heading off to print photos. Book club this evening. Hoping I can squeeze in one more LO this month, probably tomorrow.

Hiya! I actually pulled out something to scrap last night. I found a cool sketch for Saturday, printed a picture and pulled out supplies. I am working in the office Tues-Thurs so I don't have to clean up my desk until Friday. Dare I say it? Maybe I will do 2 layouts this week grammadee - have fun at book club! What book did you read? Did you get all your canning and jarring done? Shakti - I do the same thing when I consider adding to my stash. I've culled to things I really really love and know I can use but I hesitate making purchases. Linda - I hope you get some well needed rest. angel97701 - yay for getting your DT projects done. Safe travels to your DH and DSD. AussieMeg - have a great vacation!! joblackford - good luck with the class.

grammadee - have fun at book club! What book did you read? Did you get all your canning and jarring done? Our book club reads Cozy Mysteries. This month's book was An Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder by C.L. Miller. Twenty jars (3-4 cups each) of relish went downstairs today. Kitchen cleaned up. Just need to hand wash the canner and that job is D.O.N.E.

Hope you feel reenergized soon and that DD's senior year is magnificent, Linda! Thank you. Her year is off to a good start - a very busy start since she has a very ambitious schedule (7 AP classes) but she likes all her classes/teachers. There was one piece of ephemera from the CT weekend I feared was too big to fit on a 6x8 page, which is why I thought I had to make a bespoke mini-album. I found a cool sketch for Saturday, printed a picture and pulled out supplies. awesome!! I hope you get some well needed rest. Thank you - last night was much better sleep-wise and I'm feeling more with it today Our book club reads Cozy Mysteries. This month's book was An Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder by C.L. Miller. I like cozy mysteries so I've put that one on hold at my library -says it has a several month wait with 21 people ahead of me. Twenty jars (3-4 cups each) of relish went downstairs today. Kitchen cleaned up. Just need to hand wash the canner and that job is D.O.N.E. WOW - that's a lot of relish! Great job! DD17 is at her senior picnic today - it was a good day for it weather wise - HOT but sunny and clear. It's supposed to rain this afternoon but not until later. It was held at a private camp not far from here which has a wave pool, water slides, and a lazy river so fun day! I had a podiatry appointment today. The appt went well but they were running so far behind that I didn't get seen until past noon for my 11am appt. And the waiting room was full of people who needed ear buds or a mute button- playing games, watching videos, talking on the phone...all with the volume turned UP. I hate that.
