grammadee my Q3 point total is 913. I tallied the first month incorrectly in that I didn't multiply the total of items created by the point value given (20 for 12x12, 10 for cards, etc). I corrected it, so that's why the point jump from last month to this month may seem like a lot.

grammadee - have fun at book club! What book did you read? Did you get all your canning and jarring done? Our book club reads Cozy Mysteries. This month's book was An Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder by C.L. Miller. Twenty jars (3-4 cups each) of relish went downstairs today. Kitchen cleaned up. Just need to hand wash the canner and that job is D.O.N.E. I just read that a few weeks ago! Did you and your group enjoy it? I liked it but I don't think it was quite as good as i had hoped. What kind of relish do you make? Is it the green stuff? What do you eat it with? In NZ relish is usually tomato based although it often has lots of other veg in it. I like the NZ stuff on avocado toast or grilled cheese Lots of work getting that made and jarred! Good job getting that done.

Quick fly by here. Chores yesterday morning--all those little pesky things like get ready for garbage, clean litter boxes, dog poop patrol, organize jewelry after trip, clean bedrooms. Took 3 hours! Then off to holistic health appointment and grocery shopping. Glad humidity has dropped, it feel like you were swimming in the air!
This morning I woke up to an alarm . . . ON the refrigerator that the power had gone out last night. I heard it at 2:30 am, but thought it was the ole smoke alarm fiasco that always beeps in the night. I shut my door. Found it the morning.
Back is sore again this morning from the escalator incident last Monday, it was better but went south again. My massage therapist indicated the high humidity will increase inflamation in the body. The humidity is high again today after a drop to an average of 78% yesterday. Monday it was in the 90s %and today it's in the mid 80s.
This morning I reminisced by scrolling through old blog posts to look at some of my makes over the last 2 years. It was a good reminder of what I am capable of creating.

Booo to fridge and water issues, angel97701. I just read that a few weeks ago! Did you and your group enjoy it? I liked it but I don't think it was quite as good as i had hoped. We enjoyed the book, especially b/c of the way she dealt with the antique business in it. As a mystery, she had us suspecting more than one culprit and she did that well. I don't have any knowledge of antiques, and other than watching Antique Road Show, I don't think anyone else in the group was very familiar either. As a cozy mystery, it was enjoyable, but this author is no Agatha Christie. My relish has no tomatoes in it. Just cukes, cauliflower, onions, and peppers. It is a sweet relish (more sugar than salt) and yellow cuz it has alot of tumeric and ground mustard in it. I like it as a side dish with roast pork. It also adds some nice zing to a hot dog or ham sandwich. But I use the bulk of it in my spaghetti sauce and lasagna. The mustard gives a kick to replace the garlic in most recipes cuz I can't eat garlic.

Haven't tried it yet, but it's on our 'to do' list.

My tomato relish has a little curry powder in it Also works well with hot dogs and ham sandwiches. I think yours sounds a bit like what we would call piccalilli, which some people love to put on hot dogs. I love that you can kick up your tomato dishes with it. I would be very sad to have to stop eating garlic... I got up early today and got out for a walk as the sun came out. I love those long shadows and a crisp sunny morning. I got a bonus walk to drop mail off downtown. I wrote cards for my brother's birthday, my friend who stopped going out in 2020, and sent a gift and very silly card to my nephew - trying to trick him into thinking his gift is a Hummel figurine! His inheritance Speaking of stupid figurines, better get back to work now so I can craft later.

Have a wonderful last Sunday of August, crafty PEA-ple. It is chilly and windy here. Hoping I don't have to pick off my tomatoes to save them from frost. Isn't hail damage from last week enough? Still working on calculating my August points. I have one page ready to post next Saturday, but not sure if I will have anything else finished before the end of the month. I can’t even imagine frost this early. It’s still in the 80’s-100’s here for a while. Still getting tomatoes and many are still green

So, when I tested positive in Maine, DH immediately moved to a different bedroom. I said I supposed I should move into the guest room when I got home. He pointed out that when he had Covid years ago, I moved into the guest room, so it was only fair if he did now.
Well, some of you might recall that the guest is also the craft room AND my home office. I suppose I could find a way to work from the bedroom or from some other room masked. But if the healthy person was sleeping in the craft room, I'd be cut off from all my stash. So I moved into the guest room.
Except with the couch completely opened into a bed, the chair doesn't fit at the desk. So I have half the full extra long bed opened up, the other half of a couch still a couch, and I am sleeping on a narrower-than-twin bed in the same room I'm working in. It's getting old -- really old, really fast.
The CDC says 5 full days after a positive test with no fever and symptoms that are improving you're free and clear. Unfortunately, I retested this Tuesday and got a less enthusiastically positive result (this is significant per Scientific American but not FDA). I am still sniffly, but only sniffly. DH takes DK back to school in 20 minutes or so. He has now decided I should test negative before moving back into the bedroom. My employer wants a negative test before I return to the office. Blech!

I have been MIA here and not crafting all that much lately. I’ve been busy with prepping for school and the fair. Exciting for DS10 though. He entered cards and a scrapbook page in the fair and got Grand Champion for his cards. He was so proud of them and they looked great.

This year my SIL made a zucchini relish that I think is the best relish I’ve ever had.

Happy, um, Thursday! It feels like the week that will never end. (eta - I say this almost every week. Whoever said that the days are long but the years go by fast was not kidding!) I'm in the office again today. I mind and don't mind at the same time. It's very quiet and there's better technology here than at home but I am tired and very ready for the 3 day weekend! My layout for the Saturday sketch challenge needs a something. It's just sitting for now and I am sure it will come to me when I post the challenge. Ha! Not much is happening this weekend so I plan to spend it trying to get some extra organizing points for Q3 which will spill into Q4 with hopes of getting creativity points in Q4 as well. Have a great day everyone!

Oh goodness, such a predicament. Hope you feel better soon. Covid is no fun! Have you had it before? Glad you are taking precautions with your family. In our case it was transmitted just as symptoms started, caught from ILs who had JUST HAD their 4 vaccination 2 weeks before. There was snow in parts of western Canada this week. Probably in the mountains? I have been MIA here and not crafting all that much lately. I’ve been busy with prepping for school and the fair. Exciting for DS10 though. He entered cards and a scrapbook page in the fair and got Grand Champion for his cards. He was so proud of them and they looked great. There are seasons when RL is more important making those memories. Congrats on DS's Fair recognition.
grammadee your relish sounds good, but my DH is not a relish lover. My timeline on FB reminded me that 6 years ago I had a really nice harvest of green beans. I do miss my garden but not all the battles with critters OR frost (an issue in Central Oregon).
joblackford Hope the destash of Hummels battle is going forward and you can create again.
Yesterday I was a bit under the weather (DS was the day before) headache & tummy ache, plus back is still not super happy. Today I am driving to pick up DH at MSP. Decided it was easier than picking him up at midnight 25 minutes from home. We would be back by 9 pm. Waiting for the shuttle and then all the stops adds a ton of time to his return. He said I could go shopping, but the thing is I usually have to be in the mood to shop, and I'm really not feeling it right now . Should check on what's available. Not knowing what is close the the airport makes it hard to figure out what to do. Do I really want to spend time in a busy Mall of America today?
Time to get going with a few chores, then head to MSP!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks here and I haven’t been able to get to my scrap desk as much as I’d planned. I have one layout finally finished and two more half done. Hopefully I can get them finished by tomorrow. I have a company coming to replace the windows in our bedroom tomorrow. Can I scrap while they’re working?? We’ll see…
Yesterday was my checkup with the retina specialist. I have to go to Toronto for that so it took up most of the day. It looks like I’ll be having more surgery, but we’re going to wait three months for further healing. Today I’m meeting my mom for lunch and we were going to go for a walk but it looks like it might rain.
I also found out this week that I’m all set to go back to school! I applied to the Library Technician Diploma program in July. It’s mostly all online and I’m only taking three courses this semester, but I’m still nervous. I turn 53 next week, I haven’t done school work in a LONG time! I’m excited too though!

It’s really awful to be tired and under the weather/sick and juggling sleeping arrangements and trying not to go crazy camping out in one room. I hope things get easier soon. It can take a while to stop seeing a faint positive line…

OK, maybe I'm a little tired, too, I think the entire reason that the CDC no longer requires a negative test to end isolation is that they know it's pretty meaningless. But I was SO SURE it would be negative Tuesday that I figured I might as well. It was so devastating to get that line! I kind of want to go to yoga Saturday, but at this point I'm not sure whether to test Saturday morning.

Good morning! What are your plans for this Friday and the long weekend ahead? Kind of a scattered focus here. A two page LO on my scrap counter with a list of Q-3 challenges I have yet to complete. I have been slowly working on decluttering some bedroom closets, and will need to see what work the garden has for me.
Hope you have signed up for Q-4 teams. Just today and tomorrow before sign ups close.

Another water issue, this time in the laundry room and adjacent room. I had a paper file box sitting on the floor with business/personal tax records in folders. Have spent the last hour drying things GENTLY in the oven. Will have to call the plumber agai Oh no! I'm so sorry. You've had more than your share of troubles this year. I'm definitely slotting scrapping in tonight and am hoping for at least one scrappy day this weekend also. Tomorrow is errand day - groceries, library, bank, and somewhere to pick up a bag of potting soil. Sunday and Monday will depend a bit on DH's plans.

I needed to move my Stencils360 tool to get to a photo backdrop and it connected in my brain that I might be able to use it to make backgrounds for the Hanukkah cards I’d been stuck on. And then while I was watching a Sheetload Rewind video I realized I could use that sketch with some cat paw die cuts I hadn’t figured out a plan for yet The moral of the story is that downtime/doing other things can be a great chance for your brain to solve some problems for you. Hoping to sit down and finish some things today but if it turns into another day of puttering that’s OK too. Oh, and I finished my crochet lap blanket except for a few ends to tidy up!

beachy hope your surgery goes well and that school is enjoyable. When you are learning something you are interested in--usually doesn't seem to be as much "work"</abbr>
Shakti --hope your sniffles improve and glad you are in your bed. My craftroom is also the guestroom . . . but can't be both at the same time.</abbr>
joblackford --yeah for progress, I would settle for just spending some time. My brain works like yours does, comes up with ideas while doing other things.
Linda --chores are so boring, but very necessary! Hope you have some time to craft this weekend.</abbr>
grammadee --Just want to thank you for all you do to keep this part of the board engaging and fun!</abbr>
Home about 9:45 last night. Timed the pick up at MSP perfectly, and was super surprised that there was no cell phone waiting area. MSP is NOT well planned like PDX. I was able to have a great time in the Twin Cities. Nice drive, little traffic. After some research realized there was a Dick Blick Art Supply store in Edina! Made a stop there to find Derwent Inkintense Antique White color block. (Most likely will make an appearance in Cardtober hint, hint, hint). Also decided to go to a higher end mall than Mall of America. Glad I did, as I did get amped up once I was in one of my new favorite women's clothing stores. Found some really nice pieces between two stores. DH enjoyed the fashion show this morning. He totally understood why I purchased as much as I did. There IS NOTHING locally that gives much of a selection. Not a Walmart, Target, or Kohl's shopper for clothing. With Minnesota winters light weight trousers really don't appeal! He also witnessed my angst last year trying to find just a few things--and the return cycle. It was really nice to try things on and look at options. Come to find out I have shrunk enough that petites are kind of like a half way size between Medium and Small. Bought my first flare leg jeans in 50 years!
An order from SSS arrived today. New toys to play with! Now to go play.

The moral of the story is that downtime/doing other things can be a great chance for your brain to solve some problems for you. Hoping to sit down and finish some things today but if it turns into another day of puttering that’s OK too. That's an awesome reminder! Oh, and I finished my crochet lap blanket except for a few ends to tidy up! fabulous! will you be sharing a photo? angel97701 - glad you were able to refresh your wardrobe. I did get 2 layouts done last night and started a 3rd but got sidetracked into fussy cutting.

Just calculated my August and Q-4 totals. I am going to send a group pM to my team members to collect as many totals as I can. Papercrafting DEEva's, prepare to receive PM's.
AussieMeg is still on vacation, so no rush to get totals in to her until she is back at the end of this week.

Happy Saturday! I have to go back and catch up but I hope everyone is doing well, feeling better, and has the weekend they want.
I’m getting my done now and have to make a couple of stops on the way home. I see a nap in my future but so is scrapbooking. 😊
It turns out I made 4 layouts this month and counted up my points last night. I’ll probably have to update it later if necessary.
