I love this idea and I was able to add a sketch to this new group. Perfect! I'm really hoping this will help us get more value from our sketchy saturdays - it will help me for sure if we can get it rolling. cool - I can see it without having a flicker account - yay! Not knowing much about Flicker - is it possible to add a caption or something with which sketchy saturday or sketchember each is from? I was thinking we needed to do this: I didn't mark my *own* sketches to know which Saturday they were from but I will go back and see what date they were from and add that.

I was thinking we needed to do this: I didn't mark my *own* sketches to know which Saturday they were from Also do we need a poll to see if people are okay with old sketchy saturday/sketchtember posts being bumped with new layouts (I'll admit to being guilty of doing exactly that) or if they like Shakti's suggestion of a separate thread for those. Personally I like seeing the various layouts all together on the sketch thread esp. since most of us also share our sketch layouts on the sharing thread but I'm happy to follow majority opinions

I've created a group on flicker for sketches. cool - I can see it without having a flicker account - yay! Not knowing much about Flicker - is it possible to add a caption or something with which sketchy saturday or sketchember each is from? I did this on the couple of mine that are in there. I am not sure, but I think that has to be done by the person posting. When I have time I will go back and screenshot other sketches and will post with a title or description giving the date. Also, I would like to see credit for the source of the sketch if it wasn’t an original.

I’ll add the rest of my sketchy Saturday sketches and include the date information.
Let me know if I can help populate the sketch group. I can take repost sketches from specific months to get it done without duplicating the uploads.

I've created a group on flicker for sketches. grammadee , you created a new board but we can't all upload to it - only you can. This is like the 2 peas gallery where when you upload your photo/sketch, you click under "groups" to add it to: www.flickr.com/groups/14918326@N22/Hope that link works. I've put a few into it already, and grammadee , I sent your 2 sketches an invitation to join the group I added all the sketches I've uploaded to Flickr from previous 2peas challenges. ETA: I added the dates to each as well.

If you do that for sketches not already on Flickr somewhere, that would be great. Maybe list the dates you have grabbed in a post here, and tag me so I don't redo those. I can do the same and tag you. Won't be until at least Friday, though, for me.

Thanks for setting up that album of sketches. I have always been afraid to sign up because I don't know the rules on what sketches on the internet are off limits due to selling as part of a sign-up crop, etc. I have a lot on my Pinterest, but worried about copying and posting here.

It would be more work but if the sketch links in the master thread could give a few hints (one page/two page, 1 photo, multiphoto), it would be an easier process of finding a sketch at least for me since my current process is to open a couple of months worth of links and see if anything works. This is a great idea Linda! I have updated the Sketchy Saturday sign up thread to include the layout size, and the number and orientation of the photos.

Unfortunately I can’t because it’s from a class and it’s explicitly forbidden in the terms and conditions. I’m also a very slow scrapper. I only got one page done 😆. Forbidden to share images of your completed project?! Not just the instructions or videos or what have you? Yes. I can look up the verbiage when I have a chance. I know one of the virtual crops I attended specifically asked we not post pages from classes for the challenges too. My page doesn’t look exactly the same but it would be obvious it was inspired from it if the two were side by side. Edit: Maybe I’m interpreting this wrong but it says that you agree not to share any work displaying class content. I think combined with the warning to not post pictures from classes for a virtual crop I attended I interpreted it as “don’t share intellectual property”. At any rate, if I’m wrong I’d rather be safe than sorry.

grammadee this is what I've done so far. These are the sketches I uploaded: 01/21/2023 01/28/2023 03/18/2023 05/06/2023 06/17/2023 07/08/2023 07/22/2023 07/29/2023 08/12/2023 10/14/2023 01/06/2024 01/13/2024 02/03/2024 (28-4-28 Day 3) 03/02/2024 03/16/2024 05/11/2024 05/25/2024 06/01/2024 06/15/2024 The posts for these dates didn't have links or I couldn't open the link. 11/11/2023 12/09/2023 03/23/2024 06/29/2024 Everything else for 2023 (not including Sketchtember) and 2024 are already in Flickr.

Do you use sketches? And if so, what are some of your favourite places to go to get the sketches? And what appeals to you on a sketch that makes you want to use it? I am not drawn to many sketches because they’re often (understandably) intended for multi-photo scrappers. I tend to use a 5x7 single photo on a page. If I want to add more pictures I make it a double page layout with additional photos on a second page designed using a variation of the first page. It often feels like I’m reinventing the wheel to adapt a sketch for a single photo when I’d likely finish the page sooner if I just followed my instincts and went for it. I also think the results are better when I rely on instinct. I do think I would use sketches more if there were more single photo sketches out there though.

I was so busy bemoaning my fate -- no chance of any news, good or bad, until next week -- that it didn't quite occur to me exactly how long that will make this long weekend feel! I should have been working much more diligently on a serenity plan!

I had to join the new sketches group under my other Flickr account, because that's where all my sketches are stored. I just flooded the gallery with pretty much all the sketches I've shared since about 2019 or 2020!

Oh I love having one thread! to answer the QOD- My first crafty project this month....I'm not sure. I have several possible LO's kitted up and want to catch up PL. I need to finish Feb-June lol. I guess this is the fork in the road, of do I finish or do I scrap it for this year? I only ever seem to complete an entire year if I use the PL app. But I have lots of fun supplies that are perfect for pocket scrapping and I want to use them lol. I'm a multi-color scrapper and I seriously think there is no rhyme or reason to any of my creating lol. I use a sketch nearly 100% of the time. I am like so many of us - I print them, but it takes me forever to do them. I don't mind bumping an old sketch thread if I've made note of the date it was posted. I seriously have a LO that I started from a sketch that was posted here at least two years ago lol. I get the bulk of my sketches from SG, and I also really love the Stuck?! Sketches. I have a ton of sketches from Allison Davis classes, and SG sketchbooks that I've paid for, so I tend to go to those first. Oh wow I love that we have a sketch gallery! It's awesome and going to be so helpful. I'll get my sketches added with dates. I love the brainstorming!

I think in general -if you paid for the sketch (through a class or a paid subscription or as part of a sketch ebook) it's off limits. If the sketch is freely available on the web - through a blog or a magazine website or a freebie from SG or the like - then it's fine to share, just link back to the original site and give credit. I never share SG sketches simply because I'm usually not sure which ones I paid for vs were free.

Happy 4th!
I will be away most of the day, doing mostly unscrappy things. Just wanted to leave a question:
QOTD: What was the last photo you took on your camera or phone? & followup: do you plan to scrap it?
My last photos were of my dgs competing in an obstacle race on Canada Day. I definitely DO plan to scrap 'em when I get them printed.

My last photo was of a gigantic American Flag stretched across my DS's office building. May not scrap it because the lighting was very poor. Hope to get over there to take another one.

My pleasure - I'm a bit of a night owl, no work today and got caught up in a Married at First Sight binge The last picture I took was yesterday - it's a picture of the signage of a bar moving back into Penn Station that we really like. There was a massive renovation of the whole station and the bar moved across the street and while it's still good, there was something unique & special about their original location. I don't know that I'll scrap it. I took it to show my husband it was coming back.

QOTD: What was the last photo you took on your camera or phone? & followup: do you plan to scrap it? a photo of Mini and Dusty sleeping curled up back to back. No, I won't scrap it as Dusty got up as I took it looking for pets and I didn't actually end up with the cute photo I had hoped for. The last photos I took that I'll be scrapping are from last night Game Night where we played a Lego game -Wild Wool. I'll have to die cut some sheep and Lego blocks for that one.

My last photos were of my dgs competing in an obstacle race on Canada Day. I definitely DO plan to scrap 'em when I get them printed. A photo of a very old set of yellowed plastic drawers my MIL had stashed in her den that we're going to give away. Most of my photos lately have been purely functional photos of old junk to give away, or details of a derelict house/graffiti/noxious weeds to report to the city or to show to my husband. ugh. I took a photo of a Tesla cybertruck monstrosity parked down the street with the same problem as stainless steel appliances - grubby handprints on the door panels That photo was just to laugh at with my friend. So no, I will not be scrapping any of that! The next photo I take will probably be of my hubby's house painting progress, which might go in the album. Or this afternoon's gathering and fireworks, which will. Americans - Happy "Glorious Fourth" as they used to called it way back. And Happy Election Day to any Brits who might be here.

What is the colour combo that shows up most often in your scrapbooks?
I am with kitbop , a bit of a rainbow through all my scrapbooks . . . it always depends on the photos
AussieMeg -yes I do use sketches when I am scrapping. I just haven't really been in the scrapbook mode right now. It's been card making.
I love the idea of more info on the past sketches thread like single or double page, number of photos etc. At one point I had a word document started with the sketches with a photo and then a link to the thread embedded. But with the move (which you all know took FOREVER), and the stresses of everything associated with moving. Rant here . . . secure bridge loan to buy MN home (interest only payments, OUCH!); DIY move with 5 trips of 3400 miles each time, getting DS18 set up with SpEd, county services, SS stuff, medical etc; working on all paperwork to start Cash Balance plan and new 401K plans to lower our taxes (DH made a major sale of his lifetime of work of four different aircraft designs, engineering data, physical tooling, etc) we are in the highest tax bracket for 3 years; FINALLY selling the house in OR after managing it for 10 month from afar; new conventional loan for current home; DS18 running away and declining all services that would make his FASD life easier; major hit of a months long flare of my IBS (no wonder with all the stress) finally getting better! Yeah!; multiple house guests (usually fine except Inlaws, getting older and slightly inconsiderate) but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am thankful for my friends and family who have been praying with me and helping me process through this immense journey.
My last photo? A photo of a barge that is used as a helicopter pad. I also have a photo of the barge with the helicopter on it when we went for a boat ride 2 months ago. Probably won't scrap it though. Back story: A wealthy guy on the lake wanted a permit to land his helicopter on his property BEHIND his home. County denied the permit So he had a custom barge built that he docks on the lake and lands his helicopter on when he travels from his Twin Cities home. Yesterday it was set up with deck chairs, corn hole game and a bunch of party goers. They were headed up the take chain alongside shore to watch the fireworks in Nisswa. Huge American Flag. Apparently he owns the concrete firm that has done HUGE projects in the Twin Cities like stadiums etc. Now the county can't do a thing about it.
More overcast skies here today on the Fourth of July, some wind and highs about 73. Yep, maybe we will have another truly summer day soon? Many PWC on the lake so too much wake to go paddle board or Efoil this morning. Rain expected this afternoon. Planning a quiet family evening for celebration of American Independence Day, then watching the fireworks across the lake from the dock. We have trees that block our view from the decks.
Off to check out adding challenges then maybe to the craft room to play?

First project? Finish the layout for our trip to Las Vegas and seeing Cirque Du Soliel. I thought I had it finished at last week's crop - - - but on a second look it was uneven and wonky. So I tore it apart and started it again.
