First project? Finish the layout for our trip to Las Vegas and seeing Cirque Du Soliel. I thought I had it finished at last week's crop - - - but on a second look it was uneven and wonky. So I tore it apart and started it again. I saw that layout and it was beautiful! Has anyone told you lately you are a perfectionist.....LOL. Anxious to see the redo. I also saw it and agree 100% with nylene

QOTD: What was the last photo you took on your camera or phone? & followup: do you plan to scrap it?
I took about 45 photos on my early morning below-zero temperature walk yesterday. Yes, I plan to scrap them. But not all 45 of them haha!

The last photo I took was of a scrappy order I received this week to show a scrappy friend what I bought. I am unlikely to include it in my PL, although you never know.

AussieMeg, did you get some photos of frost on trees? Shakti I hope you get some good news soon. QOTD: If you had an unexpected half a day just to play, how would you spend it?I hope to put a page together this morning, but didn't plan anything last night, and kinda dozy this morning, so not sure if that will happen. I may end up just putting some of the pile of completed pages into albums. Then I may become motivated to fill in the gaps.

Shakti waiting is sometimes the hardest part! I would spend it making cards and thinking about scrapping again. I have an Aunt (2 years older) and a former student (8 years younger) both in the midst of breast cancer treatments. I try to send them cards every few weeks to encourage them and let them know even though I am far away I am thinking about them and praying for them.

QOTD: What was the last photo you took on your camera or phone? & followup: do you plan to scrap it? I took a selfie in my scrap room that I’m planning to scrap eventually. QOTD: If you had an unexpected half a day just to play, how would you spend it? I think I’d spend it organizing memorabilia so I could use more of it on pages.

QOTD: I would play around with my cameo. It’s a newer model and I want to learn how to use the new features.

I’ve been kind of drowsy all day and the heat isn’t helping. But I sat down at my desk for a few hours and, even though I spent half of the time vaguely staring at the paper instead of actually cutting and gluing it, I did eventually make some progress. It was like I forgot how to make cards!
We got a few good photos from our Fourth gathering including a pretty nice group shot. I think I’ll do a little catch up in my yearly book this weekend while I’m hiding inside. Hallmark Christmas movies might help me pretend to be cool.

That sounds like a good plan joblackford. I didn't have any Christmas music or movies but I did get several layouts done for Christmas 2013 tonight so feeling happy about that. I'm hoping to get the rest of them finished up this weekend. I already pulled photos for the next layout - I'm planning to use the old Deluxe Designs templates - anyone remember those? I like them when I have a bunch of extra photos I want to include. Anyone else scrapping this weekend?

I just borrowed a Christmas book from the library last night. It was so hot yesterday, I guess I wanted to think cool thoughts also joblackford LOL DH is working today then taking his brother out for a birthday lunch/dinner thing so I am on my own. I picked up some groceries and need to run out for a doctor appointment in a few minutes. I'm torn between reading and crafting this afternoon/evening.

welcome highkeycrafting - jump in and enjoy the cameraderie as we chat and craft! I'm hoping to scrap again today. I've printed off some sketches and hope to keep working on those Christmas 2013 photos. I need to check in with DH and see what his plans for today are - sometimes they involve me and other times they don't

Fun questions!
If I had an unexpected half day I would probably organize and play with stamps or stencils.
my last photo is of one of my back flow incense burners. Probably not scrapping that lol.

My DH is at a burner festival in VT -- part of what is making this extra long weekend after the very short week of not hearing any news from any of the interviews over the last couple weeks seem even longer! Kid is at a show with dinner at the friend their going with's sister's graduation party. I am also on my own tonight. DH is the normal cook here, so after cooking for me and kid all week, I'm getting take out!
Yoga was cancelled this morning. Yep, that makes the day stretch on, too. I don't know if my unfocused puttering in the craft room today is partly due to the day just not starting with that usual ritual, but it seems like it.
I do have a 5.5 pound box of 155 cards ready to ship to BStS and I posted my RAK for the month, so it was unproductive, just not...what I would do if I had four hours unexpectedly, I guess....

Hello, nervous newbie here! Well I’m not actually new to the board, just a long time lurker who never posts. I haven’t scrapped in several years so I think I’m just going to jump back in where I left off which was the end of my 2010 family album. I think I just have Christmas to do. And I need to get photos printed for 2011. Planning to get started tomorrow. My husband is away until Saturday on a fishing trip so I have the house to myself. Welcome beachy ! As someone who loves summer and the beach, I love your user name! Enjoy your time alone, I hope you get a lot of fun stuff done. My DSO is going camping for a few days later this month, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to have the house to myself!! Well, apart from DS, but he's hardly ever home anyway. Well I didn’t get much time alone after all because my daughter and grandkids came and stayed over Wednesday to Friday and then my mom came yesterday for the day. I guess everyone thinks I’ll be lonely or something when my DH is away! But anyway I’m always happy to have my sweet grand babies here. We played in the river everyday and caught frogs and crayfish and rode bikes and baked cookies. They even helped me weed the garden! AND I’m so happy to say I still managed to get some scrapping done. I’ve completed three pages and working on a fourth one today. Now I just have to figure out how to post photos of them on here and how to do the points thing.

Happy 4th! I will be away most of the day, doing mostly unscrappy things. Just wanted to leave a question: QOTD: What was the last photo you took on your camera or phone? & followup: do you plan to scrap it?
My last photos were of my dgs competing in an obstacle race on Canada Day. I definitely DO plan to scrap 'em when I get them printed. The last photo I took was of a huge moth at the kitchen window last night. It was probably 5 inches across and so pretty. I sent the photos to my DGD because she is an insect lover but I don’t think I’ll ever scrapbook it.

(((Hugs))) Shakti - I'm sorry that your weekend is feeling especially long. WOW - that is a big box of cards - they will be appreciated so much! beachy - I'm glad that you had fun with family even if it did derail your scrappy time some. Looking forward to seeing your layouts. Any questions about points or posting - share here and someone will help you figure it out. I've gotten two layouts down in between helping DD17 find the carpet in her room, lol. Only two more to go to finish up December 2013 - unfortunately that doesn't finish off 2013 as I have gaps still earlier in the year. But progress nevertheless

QOTD: If you had an unexpected half a day just to play, how would you spend it? Well right now I would scrapbook because finally getting some pages done has brought my scrappy mojo back! But also reading on the deck or listening to an audiobook and cross stitching would be my other go to choices.

In the interest of full and fair disclosure, Bring Smiles to Seniors is the only card charity that will take commercial cards and even the free ones the Audubon Society and the like send you. So that total included quite a few free holiday cards, some free blank cards that I stamped "happy hello" or "thinking of you" sentiments inside (because unlike Cards for Cubs and Cards for Kindness, BStS does NOT want blank on the inside cards), remade Pea exchange handmade cards, and some cards I actually fully handmade myself. I can not claim to have crafted the lot of them!

The I went to my dad's for a few hours and forgot. I'm going to blame the cold/virus/infection I have at the moment.

QOTD: Someone posted a question on NSBR asking what was your first Amazon purchase. It got me wondering: What was everyone’s first scrapbooking purchase? My first purchase, after attending a Creative Memories party that my mum had, was some paper, alpha stickers, and the circle and oval cutters. So many of my early layouts had circle and oval photos! One day I hope I can find the negatives, so that I can reprint those photos and re-scrap them. I really dislike my early pages.

QOTD: Someone posted a question on NSBR asking what was your first Amazon purchase. It got me wondering: What was everyone’s first scrapbooking purchase? gosh...I'm really sure...probably a rainbow pack of cardstock from Walmart. I started scrapbooking in April 2002 when my friend made me an Easter basket with some scrappy stuff - cardstock, a PP kit (PP, punchout die cuts, stickers, maybe a cardboard template), a couple of deco scissors, a paper trimmer, a scrapbooking glue stick, and some stickers.
