BTW I made myself a little habit tracker I can color in when I leave a comment here so it's easier to count up comment points at the end of the month. And sometimes I even remember to fill it in! Does anyone else use something like that to help track their points?

joblackford - for comment points- I just go through the thread(s) at the end of the month (quarter) and count. I suspect your tracker would be easier but I know I wouldn't manage to keep up with it. Truthfully for layout/card points - I go through the sharing thread at the end of the month (quarter) with my challenges printout in hand and calculate each layout and card. I used to keep track on the points thread but that was a lot of work and I worried that it was discouraging to others so I stopped a while back. I feel badly about flooding the sharing thread but if I don't share it there, it won't get counted. Took DD17 to her senior yearbook photo session today. She was SO happy to be given a choice between the drape and the tux - and to no one's surprise, she had her yearbook photos done in the tux. I was also surprised she got the choice - Florida isn't exactly a bastion of choices. I spent the afternoon uploading photos to Amazon. I am WAY behind on printing photos and am trying to catch up. Hopefully by the weekend, I'll have the rest of 2023 printed and then next week, I can catch up on 2024. Wowsers have print costs gone up. We have a family game night tonight but I'm hoping to squeeze a layout or two in afterwards.

And speaking of journaling, here is the QOTD: What are your favourite fonts for journaling?
I don't really have a favorite font, I use a font that seems to fit the theme of the layout if I am computer journaling, other wise I usually print my journaling to make sure DS18 can read it later.
DH bent over in the shop this morning and now has a horrible pinched nerve in his back. I have NEVER seen him in this much pain. He can hardly move. Telemed appointment--muscle relaxers Rx and Ibuprofen and Tylenol every 6-8 hours. Hard to get him to eat. So sad for him, we finally have warm calm days on the lake . . . .
So a Costco run this afternoon and 4 visits to the pharmacy window to get his Rx. Good thing I had a few other things to get in town (hour of driving to and from).
I took advantage this morning and paddled for an hour on my Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board. So relaxing! Made my back feel better

QOTD: Favorite Journaling Fonts - I sway with the ebb and flow according to whatever I’m into at the time. I probably used typewriter fonts from the Prestige family in my last two layouts.
Although it was expected, I’m quickly discovering how difficult it is to move long distance with chronic conditions. Trying to time the move for continuity of care is an exhausting and overwhelming process I feel ill prepared for.
I’m hoping to leave aside a little scrappy kit that I can pack at the last possible moment so I have a reprieve from everything else.

Stressful on its own, let alone with chronic conditions. (((((HUGS)))))

QOTD: What is your favourite SHAPE to use when scrapbooking or cardmaking? The latest sketch from Alison Davis for the year long SCT Sketch class has tons of repeated shapes in two large clusters. She has samples of circles, hearts, hexagons, triangles, stars, and more shapes, even splashes. Which shape would YOU use?
Easiest for me might be circles with different colours &/or patterns, maybe with stickers or diecuts on them. I want to try the splashes, but don't have any dies for this and can't quite get a pleasing shape of splash figured out. My crazy side wants to try them all...

QOTD: What is your favourite SHAPE to use when scrapbooking or cardmaking? I don't know - I probably use squares the most - I do like my layouts that use hexagons or circle - triangles are definitely HARD...I think splashes might be beyond me.

I was also surprised she got the choice - Florida isn't exactly a bastion of choices. I usually track my points in the same way I can't handle reading through all the challenges over and over, so I just browse through flickr or the share thread, read each challenge once and ask, did I do that? yes, tick, or no. I added the habit tracker this month to see if it will help me remember to check in. Even if I don't keep up with it daily it's easier to look over the past week to see if there's a comment than scroll through the whole month. Especially with our all-inclusive group I love that your DD17 was allowed to choose her look for the photos <3 I've never encountered the tux and drape photo concept before, just spent a few minutes looking up examples online... I guess that gives a uniform look to the yearbook and takes the focus off the clothes and onto the face, but it doesn't allow for much freedom to be yourself (which I imagine is part of the point). Hurrah for at least getting a choice. Don't feel badly about flooding any threads. I think we all enjoy seeing what you're making and being inspired by your productivity! And it definitely makes it easier to count.

Thanks joblackford The tux/drape concept was new to me when I moved to Florida - we all submitted our own photos to the yearbook when I was a senior. The session took the yearbook photos, the cap and gown photos which we'll get to buy in the Spring and then additional poses in an outfit/outfits of your choice (2 were included with the session fee and DD17 had no interest in doing additional so we didn't opt to pay for more). Those don't go in the yearbook though.

When my son had his senior pictures they just told him the type and color of shirt to wear no tuxes and then they had graduation cap and gowns. It was also during Covid but it was nice they didn’t have to wear a uniform type of thing.

I will often add a little shape/icon into clusters so not large. Hearts snd stars are my most commonly added shapes could be enamel dots do those shapes or circles, wood or acrylic shapes. Sometimes I will add little arrows it just depends on the layout and what I have sitting around.

I was honestly surprised that she was given the choice - and she did thank the photography for offering and they said they try not to assume - she has a very feminine name and a pretty androgenous look tbh - but given all the state laws our governor keeps putting in place, I think we both expected it would be the drape regardless of what she wanted. She has the BIGGEST smile when she went back to change into the tux top. I don't know that my older kids (grad. 2010 and 2018) had a choice but I don't think either of them would have chosen differently if they had.

Now that we are also getting points for contributing to this thread, I have modified the spreadsheet to include a daily tracker.

Although it was expected, I’m quickly discovering how difficult it is to move long distance with chronic conditions. Trying to time the move for continuity of care is an exhausting and overwhelming process I feel ill prepared for. I am sorry that this is overwhelming! Setting up with new practitioners and getting treatments on your schedule would be exhausting. Prayers and hugs my friend! woohoo - I finally finished up Shimelle's Use Your Stickers class tonight. Next up is finishing her Use Your Bold Patterned Papers class. I think I have 2 of the 4 lessons left to do. WTG! I still have classes to work on, maybe it will kick start my scrapbooking? Well the last 24 hour as been interesting. DH's pain is now about an 8/10. Doctor friend advised me to take him to ER last night as the drugs on board yesterday evening hadn't even touched the pain. ER from 7 pm-midnight. Four rounds of top of the line pain meds, doubles on dilaudid, oxycodone, and valium and still 9.5/10. The goal was to get the pain so he could stand on his own. Lots of texts to daughter and Doctor friend. Apparently my husband is immune to all pain meds. Took him home (option two was stay over night at the hospital . . . um NOPE!) Thankfully I got him home and into bed by 1:30, drive is 30 minutes and I needed to get him to eat. Moving like a sloth is all he can do. Up at 4:30 for more meds and a rest stop . . . took 30 minutes. This morning was horrific, he was close to passing out and had sweat dripping off him by the time I got him up and to the bathroom. Took 70 minutes to get him to the recliner and get him to eat. Ran errands--borrowed a walker from the church and picked up the enteric coated Advil. By this afternoon we both needed a nap.
So obviously no crafting for me. But a nice nap. No water time today either. DH is first on the list right now. Maybe in the morning?

My QOTD today is: What are your favourite embellishments to use on masculine pages?
I feel that choices for embellishments are really limited for masculine pages. There are only so many stars and gears that one can use! I would love to hear your thoughts on what you like to use on pages featuring the boys and men in your life.

There are only so many stars and gears that one can use! I would love to hear your thoughts on what you like to use on pages featuring the boys and men in your life. YES, this is a difficult choice! I have many pages that feature stars and gears--then squares, circles, triangles, hexagons and so on. I like Echo Park/Carta Bella collections for their boy's embellishments. Ribbons and stripes are also frequently on my pages.
Update on DH . . . still pain of 7 or 8 of 10. The walker really helps as he can support his weight with out help. We have an appointment now for Tuesday with a DO, manipulation/first appointment. We are going to try cutting back on Percoset, see how he does. The side effects may be worse than the relief the Rx is providing? Talking with nurse daughter and Doctor friend. If things get worse and not better we will be going back to ER. Not many options.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Sleepy this morning, watching the lake is nice. Up once at 3 for meds. I'm not eating like I should and that is not helping my own recovery. Just thankful that DH is stoic about this whole thing. Thankful we have a comfortable home, a chair he can sit in and use his favorite distraction device (YouTube on the TV), a helpful son, and the time and space in our lives for DH to work on recovery.

Your poor husband I hope he finds relief soon. I’m sure they have mentioned it but with those meds they can cause severe constipation so please get him some stool softeners sorry if TMI but just coming from experience. I hope you can squeeze some crafting in.
