A little update NEW update 7/19

I’m sorry things are so rough right now. You’ve been dealt a really unfair hand. Try to hang in there and let’s hope this gets wrapped up soon. I think about you often so I’m glad you’re checking in and giving updates.

Have you had a meeting with an attorney? I'd start there.

DH and I were considering filing against our builder. We met with an attorney who said we had a good case and would probably win. He went on to say that we would probably never collect a dime. In his experience, the builder would file for bankruptcy, close his business, and just restart a new company. The attorney was really straightforward. He also did not charge us for the consultation.

Our builder was a smallish company. 

We chose to walk away.

I'm so sorry! It's so hard to psyche yourself up and then have to deal with a delay. My divorce dragged on for a long time because my Xh wouldn't agree to anything.

I’m so sorry that this is dragging on and on. I hope that while they’re stalling your forensic accountant is digging up more and more evidence of financial misconduct.
Good for you for taking care of yourself and doing fun things on these tough days.
