There are people, who couch their political skepticism in terms of "there are no good politicians." President Biden is a man that was *retired* until Trump's first term unfolded. He was grieving the loss of his son, and he had earned his exit from the political arena. The country demanded something else of him. He was encouraged to run, and Clyburn and the voters in South Carolina paved the way for his victory. Given the challenges of Covid, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and other factors that made economic stability, so damn hard to predict, and the United States came out of it on the top of the pack. And now he's doing this unprecedented act.

And the first reply, "why didn't he step aside a year ago."

I can't. I am so angry at voters, and the Democratic apparatus. You want to know why good people don't enter politics. Because it's not enough. It's never enough. Not even in the face of 900 pages of how they are going to destroy America.

This is America's Brexit, with the potential to be a thousand times more damaging, so whatever happens next lies squarely at the feet of the electorate. Every 4th of July, we always watch the musical 1776, and one of the final climatic scenes is between John Adams and the South Carolina delegate Rutledge arguing over the inclusion of anti-slavery language in the Declaration of Independence. When it is agreed they would strike the language, John Adams line

"There you are, Rutledge, you have your slavery; little good may it do you, now VOTE, damn you!"

Yeah, I want to do that too.  Plus, Rep. Jason Crow who stuck his neck out and called for it.
