It will be interesting to see who her running mate is. I swear I saw that Newsome was already the one Biden was saying he was endorsing but glad to see that isn’t the case apparently. Time will tell.
I just find Johnson’s nastiness really bad since he was one saying he should pull out and then saying. No he can’t do that.
It is going to be an interesting few months. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I want someone to beat TFG and am thrilled it’s not an old white guy. I just don’t know if enough will vote for a woman. I hope that enough see what TFG stands for and what he wants to do that they will vote for her rather than not voting or voting third party. I feel this election is the most important in my life.

Rs are already spouting birther shit online because her parents were not citizens when she was born here in the US. Birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the constitution, though.
I swear they can’t help themselves. Any nonwhite candidate must also be not American to a Republican.

TFG campaign off to s good start on Harris...Everyone opened with a description of them self, ADA convention including blind and deaf.. @deltaqu57975908 commented, asking "Is she speaking to first graders? She always sounds like she has been drinking!" The problem, of course, is that it appears that the Trump campaign didn't do its "research" into the context of the meeting itself. According to reports, Harris was meeting "with disability rights leaders to mark the anniversary of the ADA. *** Even a former Trump campaign aide, A.J. Delgado, brought up the disability rights aspect of the meeting. x.com/RNCResearch/status/1815132922506068058

Why do you say that? I’m always confused when I see things like this… My vote will now go to another Democrat instead of Biden. I’m certainly not going to swap and vote for Trump. Because now you have people like me - who may not necessarily think the democratic option is the greatest thing either. I'd die before I voted for Trump and I'd also die before I voted for someone like Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris. People like me now don't even want to vote and people who support Trump have drank the kool aid so far they're going to show up en masse and he's going to landslide this election. Sincere question because I truly do not understand (for you and anyone else in this camp). So you would die before you voted for Trump presumably because you don't want him to win, but you would not vote for Harris, therefore making it easier for him to win? Why? Maybe I am just naive.

Commander Biden has nipped snipped and or bit Secret Service on TWENTY FOUR occasions. He left the White House sometime in 2023. I remember coming here to see if anyone made the connection between Genocide Geaux’s mental capacity and the dog issue but nope guess it’s just my conspiracy theory. Wild it took this long if I’m right about when the decline began. Anyway before I sign out remember who Black women were to the 2020 election! Show up show out. Eras tour style!!!

He's 76, that's a nope from me! Because of his age? Being 77 didn’t stop people from voting for Biden. Actually I think Manchin would have the best chance of beating Trump. He’s just moderate enough to pull the undecided and independent voters. He’s the only democrat I would ever consider voting for. Joe Manchin is no longer a Democrat, he’s Independent. So he can fuck right off

I'd die before I voted for Trump and I'd also die before I voted for … Kamala Harris. This is mindblowing to me. I cannot fathom how these are equal choices for anyone.

He’s just moderate enough to pull the undecided and independent voters. He’s the only democrat I would ever consider voting for. Because he’s a Republican. No thanks - we’ll manage without you. Absolutely not. He torpedoed voting rights. I'm all for appealing to moderate voters, but there's a limit. Manchin and anyone who sided with the Republicans is a hard pass. If the Democrats were really desperate (and I don't think we're in this situation) the only Republicans that should be considered are Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and Asa Hutchinson. Maybe Nikki Haley if she didn't bend the knee. But right now, the Democrats should not capitulate and put a Republican on the ticket. 81 million voters came out for Biden & Harris. We can exceed those numbers with Harris and Shapiro or another governor from a swing state. If people truly recognize the danger that Trump poses, they will most likely vote for anyone with a D after their name. Anyone saying they won't vote for Harris in reality probably wouldn't vote for any Democrat. Democrats just need to unite behind Harris today.

Yea, we probably can’t worry about these too people too much. There are people who can be moved to vote for Kamala. We work on them.

That’s the attitude I don’t understand and I have had this argument in real life. Couldn’t vote for Biden though so I am sure it will be the same with Harris. Normally a very intelligent person but just couldn’t vote for a democrat even though they were totally against TFG snd would vote third party even though that could help TFG smh.

As far as the over 65 folks not voting for Harris, you have to remember, we are the Woodstock, hippie generation. We fought hard to make abortion legal. Don’t count us old geezers out. 🤪 My mom, aunt and uncle, all in their late 70's, early 80's are some of the most liberal people I know. My dad is a lifelong Republican but a never Trumper who voted for Biden and will vote for the next Democratic candidate I'm not counting out the older generation My 90-year-old extremely liberal mother will be voting for her as well. As will I but I'm "only" 62.

What is it that people find so bad about her that they'd rather help Trump get back into office? A lot of people will probably try to cover their reasons with excuses that she's not qualified, she doesn't have enough foreign policy experience, she's responsible for the crisis at the border, her presidential campaign in 2020 was a disaster etc. In reality, I think some anti Harris people are looking for an excuse to vote for Trump or are not willing to vote for a black woman. In some ways, I think it's a little like Hillary all over again. Republicans and right wing media have been campaigning against Harris and using every opportunity to smear her since she announced she was running in 2020.

What is it that people find so bad about her that they'd rather help Trump get back into office? She’s a woman? She’s black? They are Republicans who can’t imagine ever voting for a Democrat? They want to vote for Trump but just don’t want to say it? I don’t get it either. My youngest daughter will vote in her first presidential election. She is a solid D vote. I have told her that it is important that she talk about why she is supporting Kamala with people her age. Conversations with your peers are so important. There is no point in trying to change the mind of someone who has made up their mind. Move on to someone else. Before she goes back to school I am going to make sure that she requests an absentee ballot. I will tell her that showing other people who would vote for Kamala how to request one online is a way to make a meaningful difference. The words “saving our democracy” have to come out of her mouth several times a day.

I just watched Heather Cox Richardson talk about what happened today. I did a search using her name on Facebook to find it. It’s about 30 minutes long. Very inspiring. I think we’re going to win. I really do.

Question - If Biden steps aside now and Harris takes over, does this count as one term? Would she then be eligible for only one full 4-year term?

Question - If Biden steps aside now and Harris takes over, does this count as one term? Would she then be eligible for only one full 4-year term? This is part of the 22nd amendment. The limit is serving 2 years of someone else’s term. This late in Biden’s term she can run for 2 terms of her own.
