Also, while listening to Rachel Maddow’s show, she reported that a decision on VP will be made by the Aug 7 virtual nomination the Democrats have to do because Ohio’s ballot deadline and potential lawsuits that might occur (even though Ohio did vote to extend the deadline to 9/1).

BTW: She has earned the number of delegates needed for her nomination!

The main thing I'm happy about is not having to knowingly cast a vote for someone with known mental decline.
I feel such relief about that, because it was really bothering me to have to make that choice. Not to vote for Trump, because I would never, but to choose to not vote (and thus, give Trump a vote) vs voting for someone I feel is now incapable of doing the job. It felt like an embarrassment.
I can vote without feeling slightly ashamed. I want to vote for someone I think can handle the job, not just for whoever isn't Trump. Watching my liberal friends make excuses for Biden over the last few weeks has been painful.

Mark Kelly, Senator from Arizona
Gretchen Whitmer, Governor from Michigan
Josh Shapiro, Governor from Pennsylvania
Roy Cooper, Governor from North Carolina
JB Pritzker, Governor from Illinois

I love this. I'm not sure why you can't see it in the preview but after Biden's picture, there's a picture of VP Harris with the word grow. heal & grow

He's been on that bandwagon for a while. Women should stay in abusive marriages, where they are often killed. There are many other things he supports against the welfare of of all women!!

Let’s not forget that wives aren’t the only one abused or killed. What about the innocent children. Oh but the precious children they say they care so much about. 🤦♀️

I’m glad she wants to stay in Michigan as I really think she needs a white man. I also agree quit leaking and let them wonder. Let them stew as ling as possible. TFG waited until the convention. I saw that she is going to announce early even though they were given an extension in Georgia

Beshears is notably missing from this list. Looks like being from a swing state and being a billionaire made the cut. All very capable from what I know. Whitmer has already said she doesn't want the job and two women on the same ticket is too risky. And regarding the Harris doesn't have children argument... Personally I'm happy to have a woman who understands woman who didn't choose to or could not have children.

There are many women that haven’t by choice or not. What a nasty thing to say and I hope it comes back to bite him in the #%% Yes! I know there are a lot of women who have drunk TFG's koolaid, but my hope is that there are enough others who will be swayed by Vance's misogynistic disgusting comments. I know they won't vote for Harris but maybe they just might stay home. It's especially the women who *can't* have children for whatever reason but who would have loved to be a mother...those are the ones who could be hurt the most by these comments about childless women.

The part about this childless nonsense that really bothers me is that she has 2 step children. They call her momala which is really sweet. They were teenagers when she married their dad but it’s insulting to just ignore them. And it’s insulting to suggest that in order to be a mother you have to give birth. It’s insulting to blended families and women who fill the role of mother, without the official title. She wrote this article about them in 2019 and it’s obvious how much she loves and cares about them. www.elle.com/culture/career-politics/a27422434/kamala-harris-stepmom-mothers-day/

I hope Tim Walz is not on that list because they are worried about how MN will go. I was feeling worried about our state if Biden remained the candidate. Hopefully we will trend back to our usual blue. His experience in congress and as a governor make him a good candidate for VP. I like him. He would present himself well.
Do any of you go on Threads? I started reading posts on it recently. It has been very inspiring the past couple of days - all sorts of posts where people post their demographic and state that they understand the assignment. I was worried that when Biden withdrew that we’d have a mess. Instead everyone has stepped up to support our new candidate. Everyone understands that if we get behind her, we can get rid of the orange menace. I have decided that my job for the next week is to figure out how I can help both Kamala Harris and get rid of the Trump humper who currently represents me in congress.

I can be rather pessimistic and dislike people in general. Oddly, I have found myself hopeful that all is not lost. And, somehow, Harris will win because the competition is just awful.
Jay and I were discussing this yesterday. He’s incredibly frustrated that it took so long for Biden to decide to step down. We would have voted for him regardless. Jay’s just frustrated. And, I am proud of Biden for listening to the wisdom of his peers.
Anyway, there are 4 more years of young voters for this election. Iwas much as older people dog on the young men and women, so many are involved, engaged, and thinking about what these candidates and the policies mean for their future.
When I was fresh out of HS and years after, politics were something I was clueless about. It wasn’t something we would discuss or I would hear people my age discussing. Maybe it was “polite society.” I still feel that the kids involved and interested had parents who discussed politics and political issues at home. Honestly, we took for granted our rights and freedoms (Roe).
Today’s younger generation are more open to differences and will protect their friends. I hope parents and grandparents will see the need to protect their children and grandchildren from the policies MAGA/Heritage have planned.
DH refused to vote Trump or Hillary. We are having discussions about casting the vote for the Dems because he has family that will be adversely affected under a Trump WH.
Same with Dad. He votes GOP because it’s what the church tells them. He is having issues with the church and has been pulling away. So, it gives me hope that he can be persuaded. He has grandchildren that need him to vote Dem.
Is Project 2025 being discussed on news or programs like 60 Minutes? I don’t watch television. Maybe I need to start.

Does he think being called a cat lady is an insult? Lol I proudly wear the title. Even though I have children and am usually not miserable. But who cares if someone has children or not? That just gives you one less vulnerable spot IMO.
That makes him sound out-of-touch and clueless. Cat ladies unite!

I like our governor and think he does a good job. I also worry about the election due to Israel/gaza. I don’t think Shapiro would bring back many voters who didn’t want to vote for Biden because of his stance on Israel.

Thereby endearing himself to the heartbroken women with infertility. Such an asshole. Do not forget Vance's other goals to bar, ALL women's family health/reproductive issues. No birth control, no no-fault divorce, no IVF, thus preventing all women's choices to have children or not. As well as to the protect the lives of all women. Women have no value to the modern republicans... These are FAMILY HEALTH issues not government issues.

And even if Trump himself is trying to distance himself from those policy goals, what are the chances that an elderly, morbidly obese drug addict with rage issues will live through his second term? A future president Vance is a distinct possibility that must be avoided at all costs.

It’s the single dudes who have to cheer themselves up by thinking those women are unhappy without them, as opposed to happier without them.
