I figured this was the proper place to post this vent and ask a question. So my friends who were anti Biden and were going to either 1. Not vote or 2. Vote for some random person (nor Republican, not Democrat) are now anti Harris. They post stuff about when she put people in jail, didn't speak up about what Israel is doing, how she forced black families apart, etc etc etc. So they still don't want to vote Democrat. They'd rather waste their vote (which to me is one vote for Trump) or not vote. Holy crap. No one president is going to be all and everything you want. No one is perfect. And why do they not see or comprehend that not voting or a stupid vote is a vote for Trump. How do they want him in office? Ugh!! I’m lefty and have zero (0) qualms about voting for her. We complain about people who vote for Trump against their own interests. These third-party voters are voting against theirs. |

I placed an order for a gray pair of Converse sneakers today. I really can’t help myself. I already have pearls. I plan to wear them often this summer and fall. I am waiting for more official merch to come out soon. I plan to be an advertisement for her often. I have a pro-choice shirt that will be in the rotation too.
My husband and I were out for a walk the other day and he said that he was sick of middle aged white guys in politics and that it was time for a woman. My husband is a 56 year old white dude. I have asked him to tell that to his middle aged white guy friends.

At one of her VP events, she told a story about her mother that included a line. “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?” Now a little additional context I learned. In India and other AAPI cultures coconut is a slur. Like Oreo to refer to a black person here. And while many AAPI and Indian people understand that this meme is innocent and organic, they may not be as eagerly jumping on board in using it, and others could reference it for more nefarious reasons. |
