Why is it everytime I decide to see a doctor for something, either I'm fine or a lot better at the day of the appointment? My hip was giving me pain for a few weeks that there were days I needed a cane, but it mostly hurt when I got out of bed or when I was trying to relax in the recliner at the end of the day.
So I called to make the appointment (it was for in two weeks) and the next day, I felt so much better. I thought I might cancel the appointment but DH said not to, since I didn't know why it was hurting so much in the first place. It still hurts but more of an annoyance now but I feel like I'm wasting our time if I feel better, you know?

ToniW Isn't that always how it works? I was debating scheduling the appointment I had last week because I sort of felt okay, but sort of didn't. I'm glad I made the appointment because it turns out I have an ear infection. Might be best to keep the appointment just to get checked out, and in case it happens again, they'd have reference of you being there and you could always describe the symptoms to them then as well.

We are on a mandatory irrigation water schedule ( 3 days a week -no more than 20 minutes). There is a schedule chart based on the last number of your street address. My lawn is suffering yet every morning on our walk we see the same people in the surrounding neighborhood watering every morning. The irrigation district has to actually "see" the water on before sending a letter to educate the homeowner. I'm so tempted to write a letter and suggest they have someone drive the streets I walk between 7-9 am.

I think if water is at a premium, no one should be watering their lawn. I've never lived in a place where water usage was limited, but I've also never watered my lawn, even in a drought. If it turns brown it turns brown. If I knew I'd have to water it for it to live, I'd do a different type of landscaping.
I do water my flowers and vegetables but they're limited.

My vent is that I bought a new Dyson vacuum about 2 years ago and have had it in the box since then. I was waiting to open it when we got new carpet. Well, we got the new carpet and I tried to use it last night and the brush wont spin and it's like trying to push a shopping cart through sand. I took it to our office carpet and it works just fine. So apparently my new carpet it too plush. Now I have to find another vacuum to spend money on that will actually work. I have the same problem with my Dyson after getting new carpet last fall. My DH has to vacuum now cause I can’t push it. He usually just picks it up and walks to the wall and sets it down and pulls back all the way to the other wall. Then picks it up and does that again for entire house. 🤦🏼♀️ Mine is the Dyson Animal 2 Origin. By chance is that the same one you have?? My dh hasn't had the chance to watch any of the You Tube videos I found but they are janky fixes with zip ties and pvc pipe!! I mean dropping that much money on a vacuum it should work, right!!!??

This is irrigation water from the Yakima River and our district has “ junior” rights meaning agriculture gets 1st dibs. Snowfall was low last winter so less water.

Yes, this happens to me, too. I wait and wait until I'm circling the drain to make the appointment. Then I'm miraculously better.

I have two petty, first world problem complaints. One is shoelaces. First of all, I do not have wide feet, but I feel like shoelaces are always too short, as in barely long enough to even tie. Also, those slippery, polyester shoelaces? HATE them. Maybe I walk weird or something, but they always come untied. I always have to tie them in double knots, but they are often too short for that. I have a couple of pairs of sneakers with plain old fashioned cotton shoelaces, and I don't have that problem with those. My second vent is about stickers on things. Why in 2024, have companies not figured out how to make stickers that peel off more easily? And if they must be difficult to peel off, WHY oh WHY do they have to put them right smack on the front of the item? Okay, my petty vents are over now.

If it needs watering regularly, I wouldn't have one. I even begrudge my stupid potted flowers shooting me death eyes when I pull into the driveway. And I can't see wasting water on a lawn, but I'm sure I'm in the minority here.

It's my bday and I have to drive DD to a Writer's Workshop about an hour away, each way. I love that she's doing it, but I hate being in traffic. Happy Birthday!

3. Facebook is convinced that I want to reminisce about The Legend of Billie Jean. This shitty movie might have been inspiring when I was 12 or whatever, but I haven't thought about it since, and I want to know what algorithms are responsible for me seeing clips and stills from it every single day. Well now that you’ve typed that out it’ll get worse. Or the algorithm understands you and it’ll go away. One or the other.

My vent is that if I set my dryer to a certain time/dryness setting, it takes two cycles for the clothes to dry. Why not just come up with a real setting that dries the first time?! I'm trying to pack for vacation and the clothes drying is taking way too long! have you cleaned your vent duct lately?

Once a week I treat myself to a breakfast sandwich on my way to work and my choice yesterday was McDonald's only because there wasn't a line! I ordered a Bacon and Egg McGriddle. Got to work open up my sandwich and there is cheese and bacon - no Egg!!!!
I'm breaking my once-a-week rule and going this morning to Starbucks to get the amazing Egg, Mozzarella and Pesto Sandwich I had last week to make up for yesterday!!
TGIF!

It is so frustrating and annoying! Even some of the usual remedies and sticker glue removers, won't work on some of it. I use cooking oil spray (recommended here on this message board, years ago) and a magic erase sponge....but it takes a lot of scrubbing and scratching with a fingernail.....to remove the glue and all the glue residue.

Complaint number 2, insurance dropped dd's nurse case advocate that state DMHC forces them to provide. This why I am making all the calls.

What's got you irritated today? My next door neighbor (not to be confused with Round up spraying renters out back). The family moved in about a year ago, after our long term (30+ years) neighbor died. They are actually not bad neighbors, but they have no concept of cleaning their area of the block. The sidewalk. The street in front of their house. They live on the corner, and so, yes, have twice the amount of sidewalk, curb gutter, etc. But damn, please make an effort. Our neighborhood has a lot of car traffic, a lot of foot traffic, and when the sanitation truck comes, they do not clean up spilled trash. All that to say that there is a lot of stray trash and litter. Yesterday I could not take it anymore, because how freaking depressing is it to walk outside and feel like your street has turned into a slum. So I took a lined trashcan and a shovel, donned two pairs of gloves, and cleaned it. Pulled weeds growing all over the cement. Trimmed down the saplings growing next to the utility pole. Shoveled out the decayed leaves, the weeds, and trash from the curb gutter area. Picked up a ton of litter, including a whole, unopened bag of raw chicken drumsticks that I could smell through the bag. Gah. Neighbors: You have a fresh start. Please clean it from now on.

Stinging insects are my complaint for the day. We've been battling carpenter bees for 2 full weeks now, and have finally evicted them, only to find that they had next door neighbors---hornets. So now we need to take down their living quarters today. And while we're dealing with those, we keep seeing wasps around some brand new supports we just put up for a porch repair, as if they're considering starting a new home for themselves as well! Finally yesterday, and I asked one of my kids to please work on a project involving an old milk can we had out in the yard, and when they tried to do what I asked, they found yellow jackets had a nest under the milk can. We haven't had any issues with hives/nests the previous 2 summers, so apparently we're going to deal with every variety now.

I would complain to your city. Because here, that is city property and it is their job to keep it clean. Any trees, bushes, etc on the strip not your lawn is maintained by the city. And if sanitation workers are loosing trash that is on them. Now here people do mow the grass but we by law are not allowed to trim anything else. If you complain enough here, they put you on a more frequent rotation with their street sweepers. Might be worth a call. And sooooo sorry about the raw chicken. I can smell that smell. Ew.
