Out of curiosity, a question for anyone: Are you a “use the same numbers” for every day in your DD (e.g. always the same sticker sheet, die cuts, whatever) or a “use different style numbers” for each day kind of person? Because I use my December album more for a little artsy fun each day and less to be a finished photo album, I let every page/spread be its own thing, so my numbers are all different as well.

I don’t make an actual daily, or 25 stories album, just an album of our December as a whole. The only time I ever use numbers is for the year at the beginning, or occasionally for Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day. The only reason I ever wish that I did the numbers is because it seems fun to me to collect them, and pick out different ones every day, so that’s what I would do if I did use them😂

Did Ali or team mention how much length is on the velvet trim pack?

Ooof those jumbled phrases. I can’t unsee the LE TIT SNO W Le tit sno? 😂 Has sleepingbooty seen this yet? 😂 I’m trying to imagine… If anyone can point me to an image or screenshot, I need to see why they would commit this crime against language and design and common sense! I’m exhausted just reading about all the options and costs, but it sounds like there are some good things for you all this year I just can’t even get my head around the volume of products and how much brain power and desk space it would take for me to get good value out of them.

Have you considered the gold rimmed circles add on? I know you like to do the table of contents. Yes. I considered them. But I feel like I did that last year so I wanted something a little different. I think I might have done circles the year before too. I can't remember. Are you a “use the same numbers” for every day in your DD (e.g. always the same sticker sheet, die cuts, whatever) or a “use different style numbers” for each day kind of person? I think I wrote before that I always use different numbers. I have a drawer in my idea table that is the perfect size for my numbers. Each number 1-25 is in a plastic envelope so I grab that when I'm working on the page and pick one that fits. If there is a big number or something cool I want to do where like the number is the focal point, I'll make that page ahead of time. The only items I don’t like are her handwritten plastic words and the gingerpeople (I hate cork). I didn't like these much either. My least favorites in the kit. I also don't like cork. Not sure why, just have never cared for it. I don't have to use all of the products this year, do I? It's ok to save some for next year? Ha, you are asking the wrong group. Paper does not go bad.

Thank goodness they at least left that S down near the "no", or it would have said "le tits now", which would have been even worse, LOL!

My wish list from the main kit are the white plastic words and maybe the plastic trees. So definitely can't justify. I'm thinking of getting the tree album, liz mini kit, and 6x8 transparencies. And the advent calendar even though I won't use the items with gold on them (I watched). Love that liz's kit offers non-gold sides for every card.

Judging from the poor reception to the WoNkY tITLe plastic pieces, I won’t worry about racing to checkout with them in my cart on the first pass. 😆

I thought I was out for this year. A couple of months ago I thought I was out the scrapbooking game altogether. But I took a suggestion to buy a travelers notebook for my camping trip photos. I spent the weekend scrapbooking my trip to Mammoth Cave and I really enjoyed the tiny format. I enjoyed writing and writing some more. Really getting to document the trip.
So today, I went looking for a Christmas travelers notebook. And I found one on Etsy. It is a little 4x5.5" size bound in red leather with embossed holly leaves. So that's it. Me and my mini Christmas this year (I'm currently estranged from my family) are going to be documented in a very tiny way.
I finally pulled up the AE blog post to see what she's offering. I might get some tiny embellishments. Like word strips and such. I don't know yet. I'll need to look around this week.
I'm not doing my PL anymore, no more daily type stuff. But maybe the mini Christmas album will inspire me.
I'm going back to the top to read the thread.

I think Feliz Navidad & Jingle bells are the worst in terms of not being immediately recognizable. I think Holly Jolly was the best in that regard, and the only one I would possibly ever use, although I have no intention of buying them. I think the idea is fun, but that I expect to buy phrases for my projects that are clear and easy to read, and these just don't fit the bill for me.

Did anyone else pick up some DD products from Elle’s Studio today? I love the candy striped labels, big red alpha, word strips 😍 I grabbed everything but the stamps and dies. Elle's Studio has been my go to for my DD album the last couple of years. The clean and simple aesthetic suits the way that I create. I really like the vintage twist this year. And will need to find a coordinating product line that I miss in with it. I know I'm going to need some larger papers to work with for out of the pocket full pages etc.

I'm always amazed at the amount of people who are prepared to buy absolutly everything in a DD release. Do these people not have mortgages to pay for? Children to feed? It's such an enormous cost. SEriously, this made me LOL! I feel like this spending around $75. I'm like, that's just too much. Hahaha...

this is my last year with kids home. Next year they are all in college and won’t be on break until mid-late December. I know things will look and feel very different then. Go big this last year? I see now you've already made your decision. But I was going to echo the others about going big. I've never done DD in a 10x8 format, but I do remember the Christmases when my kids were younger and how busy they were. There was so much to scrapbook and I just loved doing layout after layout (this was before I did DD). So much can change so fast in life, so I think you should feel free to take this opportunity to make it a Christmas (and an album) to remember. This year, Army son is coming home for 2 weeks in December + he's bringing home his best friend thats in his unit and then DS1 will be home for a day or so with his girlfriend. I should probably do a 6x8, right? I think a 6x8 would be a perfect size for you. I'm glad you will have both of your boys home for the holiday, especially your military son for two weeks. Enjoy your holiday and enjoy scrapbooking it.

Are you a “use the same numbers” for every day in your DD (e.g. always the same sticker sheet, die cuts, whatever) or a “use different style numbers” for each day kind of person? I tend to use the same numbers throughout my book. However, I have a very simple style with a journaling focus and a get it done attitude. Last year, I actually bought Ali's number stamp and I stamped all my numbers.

After going through this thread, I popped over to Elle's Studio and...I think those are the supplies for me. Not shocking as I have never used AE supplies for DD. LOL! But I usually order some of Ali's stamps and this year, I couldn't get excited about any of them either. I used ES for my 2021 DD album and I felt like that just came together so well. And what is weird is that surprisingly, after I just answered that I use the consistent numbers on my pages, I am like in love with those mixed up ones.

That said, I usually use more of a newly purchased number set in a given year and then I have some favorites I throw in every year until they run out. For example - Paper Person had an awesome large white puffy number set that I bought 2 of and I have used several each year since I bought it. I have some older Ali E chipboard sets I keep going back to as well as a really old wood veneer one from one of her collabs with Studio Calico. There is something nostalgic for me about mixing them up but also using the same set over many years. I am fortunate to have discretionary income to spend a sizable amount on this annually - and this is by far my big scrapbook indulgence annually. That said, when I realized a few years ago that people were literally buying everything in the collection, I was stunned. Seeing the Videos of people's haul you see just how much product it is. That said, there are loads of people in crafting who have giant hauls and if you have the disposable income and the space than go for it, but it is pretty mind boggling. I wonder if most of these are people who are empty nesters and also just have an excess of income to spend on what ever. Even I was looking at my albums from the past 2 years and thinking about how much stuff I bought "for December Daily" each of those years. LOL - the "actual" cost of each finish album is not low .

I would actually love to see one of the Ali E DD class designers use a TN or maybe we will get that from the 6x4 examples? My youngest just left for college so this will be a different December for us, although I am sticking with a 6x8 for now.

I also got 2 dies - the vintage frame + the every day tabs. I decided those would both be super useable for DD and I can do some repeat design. I will mostly use Ali E this year, but thought the Elle's Embellishments would complement nicely.

What do they expect to do with all of the supplies? Do they just have an album that showcases the supplies rather than the photos and journaling? Or do they just collect it all and just enjoy seeing it all on their shelves? I’m trying not to judge since I overbought SB supplies in the past. Even now, after developing my simple style, I like to give myself choices. I will probably spend about $125 on this project and have some stuff leftover. That probably seems like a lot to some people, but scrapbooking is very therapeutic for me. I just don’t understand a desire to spend $600 + on a December Daily project, which is what several people on the FB group say they’re going to do. I don’t need that much therapy!

Some people save throughout the year and this is their big splurge. Other people can just outright afford a big haul.
I find judging people on what they buy or how much they spend weird. "Too much" means something different to everyone. Some people would find it wasteful to spend as much as we do on paper, dies, inks, etc. How a person chooses to spend their money has no impact on me (unless they owe me money haha).
I can't afford the buy it all bundle and if I could I probably wouldn't get it because there are things in it I wouldn't use, so no need for me to spend that much - but if someone else wants it and can afford it, who cares?

I don’t remember who it was, but a couple years ago a pea here shared that they’d learned of a scrapbooker (maybe a podcaster) who would buy so much DD supplies that it would fill an entire raskog cart, and she had a separate cart for each year. And she’d never even completed an album. Am I remembering this correctly?!?! I think about that every time I’m purging or looking at new things to buy. I don’t want to be like the raskog DD hoarder.
