Heidi Swapp released her Christmas collection today! She is using silver accents and a lot of things I think could be complementary to Ali's stuff. I just put in an order. This might be my favorite release of hers for Christmas. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBZce0OSKhS

More questions on classes. I've been burned in the past with AE classes, 2 of the 3 or 4 I've purchased were total duds and I asked for my money back. So I'm a tiny bit leery to do more. But I want to learn more in photoshop with using Digital files. Specifically, the stuff Jennie Rey/thereypie does. Printing her own paper with the print/cut marks for her silhouette to cut. And foil quill. Is there a lesson of hers that is better than others for this kind of thing? Jennie Rey has a couple of "Documenting December Memories" classes in Big Picture Classes. They have a two-week free trial, so you could sample her classes to find out if they would teach you what you'd like to learn. I second this, you're better off taking her dedicated class. I took hers last year and learned a ton. She does move a little fast but you can freeze and go back if needed.

I haven't taken a product play class, mostly because the projects end up on IG and I've never had any FOMO after seeing the projects.
You can't beat the prep day class at $5 for bang for your buck. I've always found that one to be a good investment.

My clear A5 planner cover with holigraphic micro glitter has arrived. It's festive yet subtle. I think I've found my DD album. 👍
I need to start my Hallmark Countdown to Christmas double page as I started watching the new ones.
Should we have a 2024 Christmas movie thread? I thought it was such a good idea last year. You could pop in and check the Pea reviews, discuss tropes and swoon over the cute guys. 😇

I'm not a Hallmark movie watcher, but I do send reviews to my MIL who just loves them. I like one place to look.

One of these years I'm going to buy her whole collection and use it for December Daily. Imagine an entire kit and album for $80! Maybe next year when my kids are all in college.

Should we have a 2024 Christmas movie thread? I thought it was such a good idea last year. Yes! For some reason I watch all the Hallmark ones that are new but I like reading reviews about the shows on Lifetime and elsewhere so I know what to watch. I'm not going to start my Frndly up again until after Thanksgiving. And by Christmas I have killed enough brain cells that I stop watching.

Holiday Crashers was adorable holiday fluff. Hope there are more decent Hallmark movies on deck. And one of my favorite books as a child (and as an adult lol) The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, will be in theaters soon. Can’t wait to hear reviews.

I’d love to have a movie review thread! I like having them on while I scrapbook, and it would be great to see which ones get the Peas stamp of approval. Someone did a bingo card one year, does anyone have that saved? I have a holiday trip planned with my girlfriends and if we watch a movie, that might be a fun thing to do.

I do have a bingo card although it’s a little bit out of date now that Hallmark has added some actual diversity to their lineup. I will find the file and share it soon, and the site I used to make it. I think Hallmark may have their own bingo cards now too.

How long does it generally take for Ali's team to respond? I 'started a conversation' 13 days ago about some items in my order. I got the email that said they would respond within 48 hours and that they would email when they did. The 'conversation' is blank! So I thought maybe I did it wrong so I sent a second one 3 days ago. Same thing: received an automated response that they received my inquiry, but when I check the conversations, they're both blank?!?! Most of the white script words from the Main Kit were kinked and I'm hoping they can replace them, (plus a couple other items that were flawed), so I'm anxious for them to respond.

I would love a Christmas book list also! I love this idea as well! I have bought sooooo many Christmas books this year. Pretty sure I have enough Christmas reads for the next 22 years, lol. Someone did a bingo card one year, does anyone have that saved? I have a holiday trip planned with my girlfriends and if we watch a movie, that might be a fun thing to do. Same. They're usually my background noise while I knit or scrapbook. I was really interested in the Hallmark bingo cards because I think it would get me to actually sit and WATCH the movie to see what squares I could mark off on my bingo, HA!

Can I ask for more details please? I'm looking to do something different this year and trying not to overdo it (Hah....holographic micro glitter? Yes please!)

Can I ask for more details please? I'm looking to do something different this year and trying not to overdo it (Hah....holographic micro glitter? Yes please!) Here's a gif I made of the holo micro glitter in action. It's subtle but pretty. 😍 The extra texture is from the dogs' fuzzy blanket in the background, oops. 🙈 The planner cover is made of flexible plastic with gold metal rings + closure button. It also exists in regular clear plastic sans glitter and other metal hardware finishes. A6 and A5 available from the vendor I chose. If you're ok working outside of page protectors ans/or DIY-ing yours to fit, it's a lovely and very affordable option. Beware, the rings are not large à la Ali Edwards album. As it's a Choice item, once you reach a particular threshold (10€ for me but depends on your currency) of items from any vendor with Choice items, shipping is free. a.aliexpress.com/_EJOvGIH

Thanks sleepingbooty, that's really helpful! It might just be the right level of glitz for me, especially if I can get silver hardware. I shall investigate! x

Ok, due to thunderstorms and rain, I'm inside, safe and cosy, this weekend. I got my new sparkly planner cover out and played around a little.
The rings match the universal 2-ring system provided you punch 4 more holes in it (as expected). No surprise there. You do need to trim some of the 6x8 PPs off a little to make them fit should you want to protect some of your photos or use some of your cards. I'm so excited by this cheap planner cover from Aliexpress! It's making me want to order some acrylic paints and DIY the rest of my project. Vellum, stamps, gold embossing powder, typewriter, hoarded KP stuff (thanks again to my Pea-friends who've contributed over the past few years 🫶) and a bunch of photos, I'm good to go! No need to order any kits or extra paper goods, I think (although the pink-coloured holiday ephemera pack from Heidi Swapp is calling my name).
WOOHOO! Now let me spend the next three weeks trying to come up with the design for the Hallmark movies page and title... 🤪

I love this thread. Maybe being here will get me back into scrapping! Had surgery this year, my mom was diagnosed with multiple mylenoma in which she is not a candidate for stem cell. She has requested all of her kids come home for xmas. I expect this to be her last so I will be documenting so much! Not scrapping it as I will be out of the country with her and family but taking photos and journaling. If anyone has absolute must document pages I would love to hear about them/see them. I had honestly forgotten about AE and DD. I am rarely on instagram anymore. I was going through my junk folder and saw paper person Halloween and election and thought it was 2023. Not buying anything from her (her lack of buisness skills and sense just won't let me) but maybe for xmas if there is something unique that is relatable to what I will be focusing on this year. I now have 26 pages to go through and read. I'm so very sorry about your Mom. Some documenting ideas-does your Mom have holiday meals that she would always make? Or Cakes? Cookies? If she's up for baking, gather everyone to bake. Write it all down and take lots of photos. Did she get crafty at Christmas? Making ornaments? If so, have her hold them while she tells the story behind it/them. Have her tell the story of her first Christmas with your Dad or your first Christmas. What memories does she have of her Christmas's growing up? Good ideas! Thank you!

I now have 26 pages to go through and read. I am so sorry about your mom. We found out my mom was dying around Thanksgiving 10 years ago and we were able to get together one last Christmas. I loved that we had that chance. Things I did that I *absolutely* treasure now: I had her handwrite names on gift tags then the tags were included in a pocket for my kids to find later. I made sure to video her with everyone laughing and doing Christmasy things-- and then I had a QR code made that when you scan it, it takes you to the video. My siblings love having this. I also made a page telling why I loved my mom. And each year in DD, I always include a page about missing her & our daughter that we loss. I have enjoyed going back and seeing how far I've come in my grief journey - but also I see that it's hard at Christmas when you miss your mom. I made a list of questions to ask my mom and then I wrote her answers down for her since she wasn't strong enough to do lots of writing. I included things like what her favorite Christmas memory was, her favorite holiday recipe, etc. Perfect! Thank you!

I just thought of something else - I was getting some things ready for Thanksgiving and I found a video recording of my mom, just interacting with everyone. It was taken on thanksgiving, but it could have been any other day. She was laughing, and making jokes....I pulled it up only computer and just loved hearing my mom talk again. It's a video of really nothing, but it really was everything.

I so cherish the video of a friend just talking as he was sitting at the table after dinner, nothing special, just us chit-chatting, drinking the last bits of wine, completely casual. He passed away suddenly. All his mannerisms, his voice, his figures of speech and turns of phrases, his posture, his everyday person is captured in those precious minutes. I wouldn't trade this poor quality video for all the perfect portraits in the world. It's him as I knew him, as we interacted. I can never ever get that back again through anything else. It's worth everything.

I saw Pam Baldwin mention that AE Stories of Christmas Past is now open to anyone to purchase as a class, and there's an optional digital kit that goes with (it used to be a physical kit that included the class). Both AE and PB completed albums of stories throughout the years. I enjoy this kind of storytelling. Pam suggested it was a good fit for people who might want to play with supplies they have before the DD season begins, and I thought it might be a good one for people who don't like the everyday life documenting of DD. Curious who had taken the class in the past, if it was enjoyable. Pam is usually great

Hallmark Xmas romance Bingo cards I made several years ago - maybe 2017? LMK if the link doesn't work! drive.google.com/file/d/1Hn5GN-h0RZK3O9JVvLy6EyARYJp-sdbG/view?usp=sharingThe free website I used to make these is on the bottom of each card, if you would prefer to make your own. You just have to compile a long list of options and the generator will put them randomly into bingo cards for you. If that site doesn't exist any more I'm sure there are plenty of others. Just a note - there are several references to Black friends and side characters because I was particularly annoyed at how every movie at the time focused on white couples with one random Black friend or boss or "magical" old man who was wise and helpful. Thankfully there is a little more diversity now. These cards were also made before gay best friends were actually allowed to be openly gay and have relationships. Tagging breakfastattiffanys and mrpibbs who asked about them

We saved the short answering machine message made by my Dad - kind of awkward and clearly done by someone who didn't really like doing such things, but so sweet. I couldn't listen to it at first, but as time passes, it becomes easier. Still can bring a tear to my eye though...
