I work in an elementary school, so I will definitely be getting Covid and flu vaccinations.
I have to wait a bit though. I got the second Shingles shot on Tuesday and my arm is still swollen and sore. I'll definitely wait a few weeks and won't get them at the same time.
Off-topic: hoo boy, did I have a rough go with this Shingles shot. 24 hours of fluish hell. Worth not getting Shingles but ick.

With both of them, I just had a very sore arm. Back to the topic, I will definitely be getting the new Covid shot and my flu shot this year. Covid has been making the rounds around my family and I've heard that it's still going strong. I work from home so I'm not exposed to so many people but better safe than sorry!

It probably won't be available for a few weeks, but I will get it. I usually get my flu shot around October 1st, so that it will last all of the flu season.

Uh yeah! Been waiting or it to be approved. This summer variant is no joke.
We do Covid boosters in Sept and flu shots in Oct.
Dd can not get typical vaccines but can get the Covid vaccine.
It's very important we vaccinate to keep her safe, our selves, and our community.

I’m due for my second shingles shot and I’m dreading it. Just waiting for a time when I don’t have a thousand things going on at once and I can be down for a couple days to schedule it. I’m definitely getting the new Covid vax too along with my annual flu shot. My kid is starting high school this year in a building with 2000+ other kids, and I’ve been hearing this latest round of Covid is spreading like wildfire. I’ll do whatever I can to lower my chances of getting really sick.

Absolutely! I managed to make it all the way until this past Thanksgiving without getting COVID, and then when I did get it--ugh! I started off in the ER thinking I was having an especially bad asthma attack and then wound feeling sick for weeks. Not looking to do that again.

Hit me about 24 hours after the shot and lasted a day.

I'll get it but have to wait 2-3 months - just got over my first round of covid. My last booster was end of Oct last year so about 10 months ago. I got booster and flu shot same day last year and just had a sore arm, slightly tired.

Yes indeedy!
I got my last Covid shot with my 2nd shingles, as did dh. I was a little sore, but nothing awful. Dh was ready to have his shingles shot arm amputated it hurt so badly.

I had the same experience as peabay after my first shingles shot and my doctor warned me the second was usually worse so I cleared a couple days in my schedule for the second shot and then…no reaction at all. Hope for the same for you! I’ll get the Covid booster but not right away because I’ve got Covid right now boo!

I get all the vaccinations that are recommended for my age, so yes. I usually wait until the end of Sept/early Oct though as I'd like the highest level of immunity to last through most of the winter.
ETA: in the last 5 or so years I've had the whooping cough, both shingles, and pneumonia vaccines. I am very lucky to have only been really tired after one of them, but darned if I can recall which one. Also, one of them gave me a sore arm for a long time, but once again I can't recall which one. Anyhow, I feel fortunate than none have ever totally knocked me out of commission like some of you!

I probably won’t as I’ve had COVID once and had 4 shots and am young and healthy. I volunteer in a children’s home that is a Petri dish for everything so I credit that with giving me a pretty awesome immune system. The preschoolers enjoy coughing directly into my eyeballs 3 times a week 😂Plus it won’t be available her and I don’t plan to be back in the US for the rest of the year.

Luckily it’s been mild, just annoying because I’m dealing with rebound symptoms after Paxlovid just like the first time I had it a couple of years ago.

I didn't even mention my arm. Oy - day 1, felt like a blazing hot softball under the skin; yesterday, a baseball; today like 1/2 a tennis ball. I guess it's just luck of the draw!

I had my second shingles vaccine a couple of weeks ago, but I made a real rookie error and took my weekly immunosuppressant meds the following morning. Just like they tell you not to do. 🤦🏼♀️ I spent almost the entire week afterwards in bed. I will never make that mistake again!
And yes, I will get any boosters recommended.

Well…seeing as how I have Covid right now, I’ll wait a bit. The vaccines always make me SUPER sick. And I don’t want to go through this again for a while. But I will absolutely get it.

Yes! I had my last shot year ago before the updated vaccine came out, needed it for work travel requirements and couldn't wait. With coordination issues I never got around to that update, and thought about it with every little micro outbreak near me. The shot will be less worrisome.

Yes, but since I just had Covid 2 weeks ago, the advice I read yesterday was to wait 2-4 months since I have some immunity and to get the flu shot in September or October. peabay, I’m sorry you had such a strong reaction to the shingles vaccine. That sounds miserable, but I guess preferable to shingles itself.

I will for sure. I just got my flu shot last week so I will be good to get the booster whenever I can get an appointment scheduled.

Yes we will all get the COVID booster and flu shot in our house. We usually get the flu shot in September. I think we will wait until October for the COVID booster.

We will definitely get the new booster! peabay, my arm hurt for a good 3 weeks after the 2nd Shingles vaccination and I was *under-the-weather* for several days. The Covid vaccinations all put me under for a few days but DH barely reacts at all. I told the nurse I think it's because I weigh almost half of what he does but we get the same dosage! Doesn't seem fair but maybe I'm 50% more protected!

Sorry you are having such a bad reaction. My arm was sore for about a week and then I had a rash that lasted at least a month it didn’t hurt or itch but it was still annoying. I don’t think I had a bad reaction the second time just a sore arm for a few days.
I’m not sure I will get the Covid shot this time. I have gotten all the rest. About a month or so after the last one I realized that the chest pains I was having may have been related and then remembered having the same thing but milder a while back. Not sure if related but since the cases are pretty mild vs the first few variants I am thinking about passing. I’m also wondering if we had it the end of June husband tested but wondering if he had tested longer if it would have shown as Covid. I didn’t test as it said not to test if you get bloody noses and I was having a dry nose and getting a bit of blood - happens when it’s dry I get a sore I think. The “cold” we had lingered and it was up and down for a few weeks. Feel better and then a few days later feeling. Sick again. Sore throat and lots of coughing. I hadn’t been sick in a long time. I’m not sure if I had been sick since before Covid. To our knowledge we have avoided it. This was going around my husband’s office and over a month of so about half got it
If I worked with a lot of people or was immune compromised I would get one.

Yes. My last booster was in November, so I really need to. I have avoided Covid so far but fear my luck will run out, soon.
My parents just had Covid for the 1st time. My father was the first to get it and goes to very few places. He gave it to my mom, who still works and goes to a lot of places.
I just went to a family reunion where the last remaining earliest generation member got Covid and passed (obviously they were elderly and had other issues, but looked really good at the reunion). There was a bunch of it going around. Feeling like it is everywhere again these days.
