I am trying to catch up on commenting on Flickr, but then it was having an issue, so I'll have to go back later and finish up. I'm not sure what I'm doing today, and if I'll get time to be scrappy. I guess I should figure that out What I want to do is indulge in some retail therapy, but I have enough stuff and am trying to talk myself out of it...

The internet ate my post about procrastinating on the Hummel glamor shots, but posting about how I was not wanting to do my work fixed me and I did an hour’s work. Now I need to get myself to stop scrolling and start crocheting.

i made an orange cake which DH started eating as soon as I put the icing on, and I made mini pumpkin, spinach, and feta rolls. Oh poop, why am I only reading this now? I could have been at your house in about 25 minutes, helping you eat these delicious sounding goodies! Well, I have given up trying to get all of the Sketchtember sketches done before the bonus point cut off. It was stressing me out, and once I decided not to bust my chops trying to get them all done, I felt much more relaxed! I will do them all, but it will probably take me the rest of the month to get them done. Well done to anyone who has managed to get them all done in time.

Well, I suppose the crises are technically getting smaller and less serious...objectively at least.
Yesterday morning I discovered that my freezer had failed catastrophically. This is far more emotionally devastating to me than it has any right to be, but there you go. I don't like leftovers or really any form of eating the same thing too many times in a row, so I freezer meal prep lunches for work -- 4 little Pyrex containers of a meal at a time, neatly labeled and stacked in the freezer to grab and go. I don't do this while unemployed and it takes a while to get back on the bandwagon of making a recipe or two each weekend when I start working again. So you know where this is going, right? I had pretty much just hit my stride and gotten back in the groove! I had a new freezer purchased by yesterday afternoon but it won't be delivered until Wednesday unless someone else cancels or postpones a delivery in the meantime -- fingers crossed!

Excellent day shopping! DH was into helping me find a dress! We started at Mall of America Nordstrom Rack—found two comfortable dress shirts for him. His neck size went up, and once we found one he wanted a second . Nothing for me there. I have a thread over on NSBR with some good suggestions from MSP peas, yeah Peas! MOA is on the way to IL’s, so DH suggested we stop there. So on to Nordstrom! Excellent clerk , Chris who grew up in Bend, OR (where we moved from) made the experience super fun! Started with a few choices, then a few DH picks, and ones Chris thought I should try. She helped me realize what size (smaller in a few cases) and that alterations are important. Turns out I’m a petite in many dresses. Not sleeve length. Had me try on a stunning dress, then checked the price and she said no, as I could get 2 for that $$$. Ended up with two amazing formal night choices. A navy number I would not had considered if not for Chris, so fun! And a black jumpsuit that DH picked, new on the floor—that Chris had not seen on someone yet. We needed to get to ILs so I said I was happy with the 2, she took them out and when I came out of the dressing room DH had paid for them! Fabulous! Now to find platform silver sandals, which DH was looking for too while still at Nordstroms. First pair was more than both outfits! Then DH found another for $$$$! Chris had taken us down to shoes to show me what to look for and we both had a good 😊. Yes I will share photos from the cruise so you all can see. At ILs we BbQ steaks in the retirement complex common area that we reserved. Had. FUN birthday dinner for MIL with SIL/BIL. Spent the night on the very uncomfortable hide a bed—MIL was very excited we stayed. Writing this while DH is still sleeping. Back in a few!

grammadee isn’t how it works? But glad you got some time to scrap! Once’s I have a better idea about the schedule in the next few weeks I will check out sketchy Saturday. Chinagirl828 sounds so yummy! AussieMeg didn’t realize that you were that close to Chinagirl828! BTDT with stressing about finishing all by the bonus date, remember it is auto be fun! This is my first time ever in 5 years to get them done. I’m retired now! joblackford. I too need to stop mindlessly scrolling. Glad the Hummers are slowly leaving ! @shatki OH NO!😥 so sorry about the freezer! I have a similar freezer story from our move last year. Involved our home grown organic beef. Hope everyone has a productive day.

I can't believe it's October already. I think I have seven sketches left for Sketchtember and I'm going to try to finish them all this weekend so I can get the bonus. I also haven't made my Cardtober samples so I have to do that, too.

Good Thursday morning! I have nine SKETCHtember challenges yet to take on, justjac, but not likely that will happen by the 7th. Put together a quick card for today's CARDtober challenge, but that will be it for my crafting today. And since I have invited family for lasagna on Saturday, and dd's hubby and son will be here on and off all weekend to help with garden clear off, that will take the rest of the weekend. It froze last night, so I need to get out to the garden this morning, and rescue any above-the-ground produce who may have survived after the leaves have been sacrificed. Not worried we left much when we were picking originally (tomatoes have had at least three pickings, and the cukes many more), but will salvage anything we missed.

I just got caught up on my life admin, counted points up, set up my little tracker for commenting here, and I got vaccination appointments set up. Now it’s time to motivate myself to do some work. We had a very lazy morning. I’m going to stare into the eyes of a creepy little Hummel to remind myself how badly I want them gone!

At home and recovering! The drive to MSP was nice, good time spent with ILs. Both MIL and SIL very appreciative we made the trip. If you want more of a shopping re-cap my thread on NSBR. Now I am researching up-dos for my chin length curly hair. Pintrest is super helpful, and I've learned a lot, made another order from Amazon for hair accessories. Good thing I have the jewelry already covered.
Slow starting the morning, and will need to do some chores before crafting!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Good afternoon. This morning I made a card for todays CARDtober challenge. But that will be all the crafting I do today.
Spent the morning house cleaning. Had a rest. Now I need to cook up a batch of tomatoes for tomorrows lasagna.

This was supposed to be my week that things slowed down! Guess not Work is still busy. And after only 2 weeks of daycare, my daughter came down with a bug and stayed home for 3 days. I took her to the pediatrician and she had an ear infection forming. And as for me, my salmonella symptoms decided to pop back up yesterday/today (spare you the details on those)... I am so confused! And exhausted. My mom is urging me to go back to urgent care but it's not thaaat urgent. Last time I went, they sent me on my way with Pedialyte. angel97701 glad you had fun shopping. Shakti so sorry about the freezer that totally stinks

Pedialyte is AMAZING stuff!
Very glad the work week is over. Already spent an hour or so getting started on CARDtober challenges, etc.
Unfortunately, I have been afflicted with a vision for a Halloween card for DK that I don't think is going to hit any challenges. I have time, though, so maybe I'll wait and see....

scrappyrabbit I hope your symptoms are not too bad and that both you and your little bunny feel better soon. Shakti fingers crossed that your new freezer arrives early! How frustrating. We got our winter vaccines today. My spikevaxxed arm hurts more than my fluarixxed arm. I got some paper crafting in before the ache set in and some crochet after. I ran out of creativity before I got to today’s card challenge but I actually met my own challenge and the washi tape one again today. I don’t think I get extra points by making 3 more orange and blue cards, do I?

Thanks, joblackford.
I got both of my seasonal vaccines in my right arm because I sleep mostly on my left side.
I nailed two CARDtober challenges with my October sheetload -- started yesterday afternoon and finished up this morning.
Have a heap of scraps and the one roll of washi I own that I actually like on my desk to try to nail the product and leftover CARDtober challenges from this week using today's sketch one!

grammadee I think you said you have family this weekend. Enjoy! I am sure they will enjoy the lasagna! scrappyrabbit I hope that you are better soon! I've not had salmonella, but campobacter (probably from our chickens at the time) Those food poisoning episodes can really take you out of the game! Get checked if you are not felling better. Daycare and viruses--go hand in hand, take care Babybunny! Shakti New freezer yet? It really sucks to lose good food! Did work get more defined this week? Yes, getting more than one challenge done with one card is a bonus. joblackford Yep you can count them and share them in your own thread . . . IMHO I also get sore arms from vaccines AND sometimes mild fever/nausea. All the joys--but important when I was teaching full time. Linda I'm sure she is off enjoying a wonderful trip!
It is super windy here, the lake is super choppy. But there is a fishing tournament and we can see a line of boats on the less windy side of the lake in the telescope.
Yesterday I continued shopping to think about the cruise. I want to try things on and practice hair styles before we go. Can you tell I am super excited? This is the FIRST ever longer vacay that DH and I will be taking alone together. An anniversary honeymoon to an exotic location. Our honeymoon was 4 days at the Oregon Coast. Almost all other trips have been business related with a bit of recreation around the edges. Oh and at breetheflea some of the purchases were cruise related scrapping paper CUZ it was on sale! LOL!
I really should do some housework today, before crafting? I actually need to make another baby card so maybe that first so I can get the gift in the mail to my niece? She sent me a text last night sharing that they know they are having a baby boy, due in March.
Have a great day!

Spent a little time in my craft room this morning to put together a quick card for CARDtober. Challenges are addictive! Couldn't seem to start my day without checking today's out! Baking carrot cake this morning. Dgs and his dad are arriving about noon. Lasagna needs to be in the oven by 3:00. So that should keep me busy for the day.
So sorry about the illness in your home, scrappyrabbit. Pedialyte may be just the thing for BOTH you and baby bunny. Freezer breakdown is the WORST, Shakti . Hoping by typing that I have not brought a jinx on this house. We have more than one and they hold the year's meat and veggies, as well as a supply of baking and other foods. Basically, my freezers are my WalMart. And usually if one fails I could find room in the others to store stuff until replacement, but this time of the year they are all FULL. Don't know if this is posted elsewhere on 2Peas, but today is World CardMaking Day! There are several sites hosting challenges and sales, but the one I linked is from ACOT.

I just got all the World Cardmaking Day emails from all the brands! I guess that’s a sign I should make some cards today. The sun is out so I can photograph the ones I made yesterday. There should be lots of inspiration to see today. My flu vaccine arm is almost completely normal again this morning so I’m glad I chose my dominant arm for that one. angel97701 your cruise planning sounds like a lot of fun. Glad you got good advice on the outfits and now you get to have fun figuring out the hair too. Let’s hope your freezers don’t hear us talking grammadee!

One big issue with the freezer situation is that DH is going to a burner festival next weekend, so this is the weekend he preps meals ahead for that, freezes them, and then packs them in his industrial cooler. It appears he wasn't aware on Wednesday that some of my borderline psychotic urgency about getting a new freezer was on his behalf. And I was too borderline psychotic to be able to articulate it. Now I will have to do some bizarre sort of staggered just-in-time grocery shopping this weekend/week, trying to make sure we have what we need each day and for his batch cooking while trying not to overload the refrigerator/refrigerator's freezer. I am feeling sulky about it. And like I am posting far too much about it!
On a completely different note, I see people are posting their CARDtober challenges mostly late the night before. I'm on the US east coast. I'm generally in bed by 9 and awake by 4, maybe 5 at the latest. I think it works better for me to wait until morning, but I'm worried that's already too late for the Peas down under. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I had a very productive Friday and Saturday. I finished my Cardtober samples and the last of my Sketchtember layouts. I think this is the first time I've done all of them. Maybe next weekend I'll be able to get to some of the other Cardtober challenges done. Tomorrow will be busy with a video chat, yoga, grocery shopping, and chores.

Good going, justjac! If I am a messy crafter at the best times, trying to use scraps and leftovers has kicked it into overdrive. I am currently dead in the water on my second attempt to use washi and an embellishment cluster in the challenge sketch because Plate A for my compact cutter has vanished into thin air. Like transparent things do so well (not that things that are not transparent don't hide in the craft room)....

On Friday my stand up vac politely spit out a die I had vacuumed up from the carpet in here. I shut it off, and "Clink!" out came the outline die. I had not seen it on the grey carpet.

I've gotten so far behind on this thread! Work has just been weird by evening I'm mush. Shakti I hope your freezer woes are resolved soon! joblackford you crack me up lol. Staring deep into the eyes of a creepy Hummel lol. I agree they are creepy. I've got 2 pages nearly done and I'm only starting the sketches from last month. I have a LOT of knitting to do on a blanket for DS2 for Christmas. Cats and knitting don't go together very well. She won't stop trying to steal the whole project and running off with it lol. She even took it out of the bag LOL. And I just realized I should knit her a little something she CAN run of with...hmmm. Football and some sort of crafting on tap today. Either knitting or scrapping. I'm sure I'll have better luck scrapping lol. Question for you : There is a challenge to use something that you've had for at least half the amount of time you've been scrapping. What would that be, and how old is it? I have more things that old than I like to admit when I stop and think about it. I would have to say the HS and Basic Grey naked chipboard sets. Those are 18 years old. Yikes! Time to use it or lose it! Isn't naked chipboard making a comeback?

First some math: been scrapbooking for about 24 years. Now I need to look for something from 2012. Thinking I might choose some Little Yellow Bicycle if I were looking for a favourite. Or Basic Grey, cuz I have alot of it and it goes with almost everything...
