Today is a teacher meeting day, so dgs arrived at the farm last night. I am driving him to the dentist later this morning, lunch and grocery shopping, then dropping him off at Power Skating later in the afternoon. By then his ADHD will have completely overtaken my brain, so that is all the plan I can make for today. LOL.

I'm psyching myself up to do some work right now, then I can get back to crafting. I have glitter paper and trim on my desk but no idea what to do with it yet. I searched far and wide for something soft, velvety or flocky without luck, not even a ribbon scrap. I'll try to catch up with some challenges this afternoon. Yesterday I spent most of my crafty time in zombie mode. Organizing and stuff shifting eventually got my brain sorted out and I finally managed to glue a few things down.

grammadee You are a great Gramma to have! I hope your family appreciates you! joblackford Did you get your work done? Well DH and I had to get up and get our boat off the lift and out of the water. We were notified YESTERDAY that the dock installation company wanted to move our docks and lifts this morning. We had an event last night--but DS helped DH take the cover off the boat lift and fold it up. It is held on by very strong bungy cords. Hurts my hands to add or remove them. Then this morning DH drove to the shop (30 minutes on the other side of the lake) to get the trailer. I have the FUN part. I get to drive the boat from our dock to the public launch ramp. It was WINDY on the open part of the lake and I am glad I brought several layers. THE shoreline is absolutely stunning with the fall colors! I've never lived anywhere before last fall that had such amazing colors in the fall leaves. Those from the PNW can relate to what I am saying. Last night we went to fundraiser for the local Ski Hill. It has all of 250 ft of elevation! I skied there last winter and compared it to going for a casual run. It's actually only 5 minutes away so I can go for and hour or two and be home in my street clothes in 15 minutes. Anyway--we rode the one chairlift three times and walked down. The last time was for the pumpkin races down the advanced hill. IT IS HILARIOUS!!! The winner gets a valuable prize (priority parking, and huge grill, ski toys). My pumpkin almost made it to the bottom before splitting. The pumpkins are left to feed to local wildlife--deer, turkeys, black bears. There is also a silent auction. I bid on a great wildlife photo of a loon, and another. The one I really wanted DH said I could bid high enough to win so I did but didn't turn out to be outrageous. Also bid on another so I have a matching set. The gym we visited on Wed had a 1 month membership and a personal training session. I bid on that and won, and it was less than what I would have paid for a one-month membership! WIN!!! After Nov 1st my membership will be paid through my Medicare supplement. So we can start early AND get more in shape for the activities for the cruise. This afternoon I cranked out #10 and #11. Off to post!

I spent hours last night downloading photos from my phone into my iCloud on my MacBook. I usually download my photos regularly, every day or at least every week. But I have been really slack lately. I even had photos going back to September last year, which is unheard of for me! I've only been downloading as I scrap them. I watched 4 episodes of various shows while downloading photos, so it was over four hours, including some I had done earlier. Oh cool, that's 40 points for Organisation!
Now I just need to add them to my spreadsheet, which lists how many photos for each event/subject, and the orientation of the photos (portrait or landscape) and that will make it easier to choose photos for the remaining Sketchtember sketches I need to do.
I'm off to the hairdresser in an hour, and I plan to scrap while I am there.

angel97701 your fundraiser sounds like a lot of fun, and winning, definitely fun! I did get my work done - 15 figurine listings drafted, which is 3 blocks x 25 minutes work. I didn’t get my crafting done though. Hubby’s laptop had a sudden catastrophic failure so we went to get him a new one. I browsed my preferred brand and really hope I can keep the one I have happy a bit longer because eek! $_$

I am having a strange weekend, sort of all mixed up from the usual. Not sure when I am going to get to the three CARDtober challenges from Thursday through today.

grammadee Yes I agree you are an incredible moderator--so loving and kind to all of us! We ARE very fortunate to have you!
joblackford OH NO, a dying computer is NEVER fun. Of course there is planned obsolescence in all of our tech. They are super $$$$! Glad more of the Hummels will be out the door hopefully soon! Time to craft today!
I did get to craft and do my Bible Study yesterday afternoon. Plus another walk after dinner. Sleep is still challenging, and I am kind of waiting it out to see how my body stabilizes. I've been trying little bits of raw veggies, maybe I can start eating more soon. Since March most everything both fruits and veggies has needed to be cooked. That would help with my satiation levels. Our docks and lifts did get taken out and put on our shoreline WHILE we went to the gym. DH wants to avoid another 3-month long injury--we don't bounce as well as we did 25 years ago! Since my Medicare Supplement plan covers gym memberships we joined the gym that is in the network and is 15 minutes from the house. Machines help with proper body alignment. Plus DIFFERENT choices to get cardio in. The owner/personal trainer is delightful.
Cloudy morning on the lake but no rain predicted. Have a great day my Pea friends!

Everything's fine -- it's not that kind of mixed up. I just sort of scheduled my morning in a way that stepped all over crafty time. And tomorrow is a Crafternoon with local SU demo, but that will be Paper Pumpkin stuff, not CARDtober.
I think I've become addicted to cramming three challenges into one project -- it's the same sort of challenge as writing a sonnet. It doesn't just need to rhyme and have good meter like any poem; it has to have a (one or the other of two) very specific rhyme scheme and be in iambic pentameter!
I've just finished my oddly late lunch and will try to execute my latest sonnet-equivalent! It's partially made and more or less all planned.

I got some crafting done this afternoon. I have a card with a cluster to share for one Loving Leftovers challenge, and I got my backgrounds cut and glued for the Multiples Monday. I just need to figure out the images and sentiments I’ll try to photograph and share tomorrow morning.

Just in case I get bored, LOL, I am taking on not only CARDtober, but also Juntine Horvey's "12 Days of Christmas" card making class. Well, so far I have saved pic's of her first two examples, and watched parts of her videos (which disappear after the first day for free subscribers). But today I won't be making cards, as today is turkey day for us. Hoping that tomorrow morning I can spend some time folding and inlaying and all that fun stuff. Hope that by taking a day off I don't lose my mojo somewhere...
Also hoping to get some photos of dd & family outside with colourful leaf backgrouds. Maybe actually get a photo of ME out there? I need a pic to pop onto the October page for my calendar...

Today the fall colors really popped! They were amazing on the way to church and home. DH and I decided to go for a drive and see the colors. We did see some really pretty bucolic scenery. BUT it turns out the best road is our Hwy 77 where we drive everyday! LOL No crafting yet as the nap monster came and sat on my chest after the drive. Now up to cook dinner. Seems like the only reason they checked on me is that DS was hungry and wanted to know what is for dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Peas!

angel97701- I agree that the Fall colors right now are beautiful. I get to see all 4 seasons because my dogs need to be walked every day.
Today was a good crafting day. I was able to make a couple of cards and did a little craft room organizing.

Fall is here too! We are going to be in the 60s this week and I'm so excited! grammadee I don't know how you do it all! My ADHD brain won't allow for all of that productivity. And having cats doesn't help I'm finding lol. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian peas! I hope it was a wonderful day. Yay joblackford for progress on the hummels! I've mostly putzed around straightening and organizing my space today. While I mull over what I want to work on next. It's amazing how many supplies I can pull out at warp speed lol.

Happy Monday!
Had a reasonably good time at Paper Pumpkin crafternoon. My local SU demo started when she lived in a different part of Massachusetts, so I usually only see her up-line and other folks from that area when we go on retreats in Maine, but three were there yesterday. Had a "make an all occasion gift set from a kit" project sort of percolating, but it was planned out well enough for me to make much progress on it. I chopped up some card bases and moved onto easier things. Finished seven more PP Cards for Cubs and got 3.5 hours crafting with others in! The up-line is also a sports fan, so we had the Pats on in the background -- still a loss, but Drake May scored more touchdowns in the game than Jacoby Brisset did the rest of the season! And I think chopping up the paper got my brain focused on the gift set project. I'm actually thinking I can make two or even three identical gifts sets given that I have a kit plus a refill and most of the alternative projects for this kit on the internet create two and five cards out of the materials intended to make a single one!

Happy? Monday lol. Shakti sports are the most perfect background noise for me when it comes to crafting. So easy to keep up just listening. Our Fall colors should be showing out this week and I'm so excited about the cooler weather, I would love to spend more time outside this week. My table is clear and ready for the next thing. I just have to decide what that is. I have several of the sketches from last month pulled to use. Did anyone complete the Sketchember challenge and do all of the sketches? Cardmakers, are you attempting every challenge from Cartober? Kudos to those that complete either one, that is too big a task for me!

Shakti sports are the most perfect background noise for me when it comes to crafting. So easy to keep up just listening. In this case, there was far too much chatter to hear the TV much. I missed the first two TDs! At home, I don't have a TV in the craft room. Plus I do that thing (there's a word for it, but I forget) where you link something you don't like to do (adulting -- menu planning, bill paying, account balancing, laundry folding) with something I do like (watching TV -- sports or otherwise). Last year was my first CARDtober ever AND I hosted, so I didn't attempt many other challenges. Last year's were more complex as well, I think. This year I had my hosting projects wrapped up before the month started, which helps with making space to meet others'. I am caught up not including today! Combining three-in-one has really helped. It means I've been able to meet six challenges for the whole week in two projects over the weekend!

I got a TV for my craft room just for watching/listening to sports while I craft lol. Good for you being so prepared! I try to do the same for Sketchtember, but I wasn't ready with my own pages first so now I'm playing catch up on the other sketches.

Feeling a little sad this morning. Most of our autumn leaves blew off the trees yesterday morning. We had to search for backdrops for photos. Glad you are getting some gorgeous colour, angel97701, and medennis4. I am also happy that AussieMeg is getting some daylight back each day. But that does not mean I don't feel less sad for us on the dreary Canadian prairies... Today is Thanksgiving Monday here, but we had our turkey yesterday. Dd & family plan to spend the day at their home (eating the leftovers I shipped off with them last night). I woke up tired this morning. But hoping to take on a couple of CARDtober challenges. Also planning to check out the next class in a series I signed up for, but not felling like amazing things will happen here today. Is staying awake until its time for an afternoon nap a goal?

Is staying awake until its time for an afternoon nap a goal? Totes! Also, the "quick quote" functionality seems to be back on MacOS. Good for you being so prepared! I try to do the same for Sketchtember, but I wasn't ready with my own pages first so now I'm playing catch up on the other sketches. Three out of my four CARDtober projects met my personal goal of using Club Scrap materials in ways other than following the kit instructions. Add that into being unemployed and sincerely hoping I wouldn't be by the time CARDtober rolled around and I had a LOT of motivation for ticking that box early!

I’m pretty wiped out today. One person won 12 Hummels so I needed to re-package them all into a giant box and make sure they would be safe - she sent me a photo of a box she got from someone else with a reminder/warning to pack them properly - their whole box was smashed! I always do my very best to pack everything safely, partly because people expect a full refund if they get a destroyed box (all that work for nothing, or less than nothing because you often have to refund their shipping cost too and obvs if I wanted them to get smashed I’d do it myself, lol, more fun.) So yeah, anyway, that was enough stress for today. Glad to see 14 more figures out the door though! I rallied and took photos of the last of the figures this morning so I’m ahead of schedule for the week. So close to being done!! And then I sat down to craft, used a cover plate die for 2 challenges/3 cards. In theory it’s lovely but in reality it drives me round the twist, so I tossed it into the donate pile as soon as I was done. I think I’m going to go read now.

Hum, no around for a quick minute and everyone comes out! LOL
grammadee staying awake is a reasonable goal! Sometimes until nap time, or sometimes even until a not too early bedtime. Big family holidays are always tiring! Hope you get some rest and time to recharge yourself! Sorry to hear about your colorful leaves. We still agree that our drive is magical coming around the south and east side of Gull Lake.
joblackford glad you had time to craft too! Just read your post that happened while I was writing. Glad you have re-homed many more Hummels! I also hear you on having the fun of smashing them yourself! LOL
Shakti Wow, you got some things done, good for you!
joyfulnana Glad you are ready to do some crafting too! I would be watching how to videos if I had a TV in my craft room.
I did get all of SKETCHtember done and was, as grammadee said "addicted to waiting to see when the next challenge would pop up on the board!" I really needed to kick start to my mojo. It was also a good jump start to my "green pastures" time, time to refuel and recharge my batteries with self-care.
I am working on the CARDtober challenges, but might not make it due to the NOW scheduled trip to Seattle to deliver a car to DSD. But we will see as they come through the pipeline. Some of been easy to whip out, other's have taken more thought. I'm kinda stuck on #13, for paper choice NOT the challenge itself. I now have all five of my challenges done, and have worked on the posts so they are ready to roll. That helps, but it still leaves 16 challenges to complete. Not being here through the 28th could be a real handicap!
I had Bible Study this morning, then acupuncture. Then errands in town for 2.5 hours. Home in time to make a simple dinner. I went to Joann's, Hobby Lobby, AND Michael's looking for cardstock to match the Carta Bella Christmas Market paper collection that I own a TON of! I want to make Christmas cards, and some in multiples. I don't want to use up the limited Carta Bella cardstock in 12 x 12. I did find green at Hobby Lobby, BUT no red.

Did anyone complete the Sketchember challenge and do all of the sketches? I've done 2/3 of them so far and am still working my way through the last 10. My plan is to finish them all although I suspect it will take me through Nov to get them all completed. Is staying awake until its time for an afternoon nap a goal? Yes, totally!

I love that so many Peas have taken on or ARE taking on all of the SKETCHtember challenges. I have the last set packed up in kits for the LSS crop later this month. I am up to date with CARDtober, but will not be able to do day-by-day when I am away from home. Hoping to catch up with those during the crop as well. This morning I plan to take a break from making cards and making up kits and actually put a couple of pages together during mom's daytime crop. Then it's back to dealing with garden stuff. Need to cook up some more pumpkins today, and tomatoes tomorrow. Have a good Tuesday, everyone!
