Students start back to class tomorrow, so I’m a bit nervous. I hope today is the start of an awesome year for you and your students I work at a college and we started last week so I was happy but tired by the end of the week. I hope your year is off to a good start as well Hoping to work on the next two sketches tomorrow. Cobbled together some quick bd cards this morning. Will pop them in the mail when I am in town for 10% Tuesday today. You've been busy! I have GOT to do some housework today after spending yesterday in the craft room but I'm also hoping to finish up a layout I started yesterday - I just couldn't seem to pull papers together last night so I'm hoping that'll fall into place today. I finished the first two weeks of August in the family album yesterday and DH picked up the rest of the August photos for me so I got those labelled and sorted last night as well. I think the Sketchtember #3 sketch might work well for the Senior Picnic photos - and that should also fit the September Donna Challenge. Tonight is the rescheduled zoning board meeting about a proposed development across from both DH's job and our subdivision. I'm not opposed in general but I definitely have some concerns about the size and the fact they have the road coming out onto the main road right at the spot where we have a warning light across from our subdivison entrance due to the blind hill. From what I've seen on Nextdoor - my neighbours are mostly NIMBY though and that I don't care for.

I have 1 more day of work this week and then I am on a 9 day staycation. I have a couple of non scrappy projects that need attending to, but my main focus is cleaning and reorganizing the scraproom and all these classes and projects I have started. I got some new alex drawers from FB market place (I wanted the discontinued navy color and bonus of not having to assemble lol. I am going to get those in there and then get a new desk top (fingers crossed I get all that done)

I always forget about that! Thanks for staying on top of all the things for us. I earned another hour of crafting together time at the library today, got my mending done as well as a bit of crochet practice. Yesterday I got started with some extra cute kitty cards so hopefully that will jumpstart my afternoon crafting. I'm a bit late sitting down at my desk so it helps to have something that I can continue. Hope all is well with you all.

Hi everyone! Just checking in and getting myself started this quarter. I'm hoping being on a team will motivate me to scrap more and take time for myself.
I have a couple of big changes happening this month. My baby turns one next week, she starts daycare the week after (previously, my mom had been caring for her while I work). Lastly, I need to move her into her own room (has been sharing our master bedroom this past year). This is relevant because I probably will move my scrappy stuff to my bedroom, since currently it's all in the spare bedroom/office that will soon become her room. I don't know how that will go if now I will be confined to scrap in my bedroom as well as work from home in my bedroom. I am worried it will feel like a dungeon. I am definitely nervous about the daycare transition, too. It will be the most I have ever been away from her, since I work from home, I've been able to be with her during the day while my mom cares for her. Ugh. I am dreading it.
Anyway, scrapwise, I am working on lots of her baby pictures. I have lots of photos printed, so I have plenty to play with for Sketchtember. I love Sketchtember, it is exciting for me to check the new sketches every day.

Oh boy, actually finished two pages today! A new record in this craft room! Also got laundry done now that the line is fixed and did a few other chores. Windy on the lake today, my poor hanging baskets are not doing well. I've learned and will do different plants on my decks next year.

Today, after I got everyone out the door to school, and went grocery shopping, I managed to make two pages. I was only going to make one, but then I decided I didn't like the SKETCHtember page I made last week and need to post tomorrow and I had to find a new sketch and start from scratch. My desk is currently a complete disaster, but I like both the layouts so I win.

Just catching up here... grammadee - yay for signing up for the fall crop with justjac and double yay for being Queen of the Crop with waived fees. I'll try to think of some challenges...thank you for the reminder. Linda - I hope you get to fit in some scrappy time this month but so fun to have a big trip to look forward to. Nice going getting your 2012 pictures in order and ordered! Your upcoming trip sounds wonderful. Welcome gingerjenny and medennis4 - I hope you have fun with all the challenges and look forward to chatting during the quarter! It's all for fun. Shakti - So many times, I wonder "what was I thinking" when I come across some rando item in my stash. Which technique or product are you questioning? katiekaty - I am glad Maddy is doing well and can return to school. It's going to be nice spending the holidays together <3 You're ahead of the game planning for your upcoming crops. angel97701 - I can not imagine a week long crop. It sounds equally amazing and overwhelming to plan for so much scrappy time. Again with a leak...I am glad this one isn't as bad. kitbop - It's so fun to have a big project like your Florida trip. I can't wait to see your pages! medennis4 - it will be so nice for you to go the stamping/cardmaking event. Did you catch the photo printing sales? beachy - that was nice of your SIL to give you her supplies. I like jumping around between older pictures and current pictures also. joblackford - good for you working out the listings in advance and re-learning the granny square technique. How is that online class going? breetheflea - yay for uninterrupted scrappy time! justjac - I hope everything went smoothly today. This covers page 1 but I gotta get to bed! More tomorrow.

This isn’t a very straightforward answer, christinec68 , but.... I seem to have worse issues with the online classes that don’t come with kits of products. For those that come with products, I do the classes (some live, some later) and then eventually decide to keep or resell the products. The classes that encourage you to use your own stash is where I seem to major issues. Sometimes what I choose from my stash doesn’t end up working or I don’t find anything suitable. I watch the classes and then shop and somehow do not EVER circle back to try the technique or rewatch the class or whatever….

Staying home to scrap, but somehow I never scrap as much as I tell myself I will lol. Have fun setting up your new furniture! Wow scrappyrabbit it's hard to believe she's a year old already! My craft space and WFH office are in the same room, and I sometimes it does feel like I live in that room lol. I will take things to the dining room if I need a break from that space. Glad to see you making time to play! I'm still putzing with 2 of my samples for the month and I still have 2 more to start. But I'm really really wanting to play with the sketches that have been posted already.

Happy birthday to Baby Bunny, scrappyrabbit! I don't know how you scrap at all with a little one. I hope the move works well for you. Be warned. My niece moved her oldest to her own room at about that age, and ended up more than not bringing her back to the master bedroom most nights. Either that, or no one got any sleep LOL. I'm still putzing with 2 of my samples for the month and I still have 2 more to start. But I'm really really wanting to play with the sketches that have been posted already. I know! I really want to play with justjac's and breetheflea's sketches. And I have to have one of my own ready for Saturday morning! Gotta go. My dh, who is post surgical two weeks and not supposed to lift anything more than ten pounds, has decided to rearrange some furniture this morning... Please let the nurse confirm that he can drive after today. Get that man out of this house!

Oh man can I relate! Are there some light chores he can do outside while the weather is still cooperating? DH's back is finally improving and he may understand how it eventually happened--from a broken tibia about 2-3 years ago made him weak on one side. He is going to PT twice a week and is disgusted he lost 2/3's of the summer. Now on to healing. He even talked about a gym membership?
scrappyrabbit -Wow Baby Bunny is growing up. Hope that the transition works out with the room move and daycare. Hope your mommy heart does OK. joyfulnana - Yikes, both scrapping and WFH in the same room would be hard. Looking forward to your sketches! breetheflea-My desk and room was often a disaster because I could spread out during a creative frenzy. Hope the cleanup goes well and you. Loved your sketch, will look for photos this afternoon to work on it. Linda Board meetings and land planning can really be a headache. Hope there is a satisfactory agreement. When will your start packing for your trip. Is DD going with? teacherlisa -Being organized usually helps with creativity. New furniture is always helpful, but then you have to remember where you put stuff! justjac - Get through the first day of classes? Hope it went well and things are settling in. christinec68@christine - Good job on sorting photos. Often the biggest task is deciding which to print and scrap, then getting to the point where that can happen!
Trying to decide what I will work on next . . . with the 2021 Hawaii album almost done! Do I do the cruise I went on for my birthday or go back to family stuff? I have such mixed feelings about scrapping for my boys--not sure if they will want their albums. DS18 was interested before he ran away. My emotions about his departure make it difficult to want to scrap pages about him. Same happened with DS25 when he was homeless and doing drugs. He's clean now thankfully, and maybe I should focus on his pages for now?

christinec68 “ How is that online class going? “ Good! Thanks for asking! The One Big Win class is mostly self-propelled, which is good. At the beginning of each fortnight you’re supposed to read the next stage of guidance but that’s really only a 25 min task. There’s a forum for discussion, just people updating their own progress, which I’ve been doing in my journal. But the rest is actually DOING the task, which for me is writing those Hummel listings. I’m doing pretty well. I’m getting pretty good at fitting in a block or two of work at times when I’d usually think it wasn’t worth it, and looking for opportunities to move the overall project ahead even if I feel like there’s a roadblock. My roadblocks right now are 1. The Hummels I just listed got no views, maybe because of the holiday weekend and 2. I don’t have any more figurines at home and need to wait until I can coordinate with the fam to get more. But I’m still moving forward! Doing things that I would have to do at some stage anyway. As for the idea that I would work on the watercolor class as a side project - zip, zilch, nada, nope. (So far). I did work on some cute kitty cards though.

Instead of trying to follow a sketch today, or figuring out what sketch I'm going to post next week, I decided to catch up on my monthly "catch-all" pages. Those photos I wanted to scrap that didn't need an entire layout. I might go back and embellish all of them later, but the months of April through August are now in the finished scrap pile. I also cleaned up my desk. Now I should probably go spend some time in a different room of the house

joyfulnana my craft space is also my work from home space, as well as my moms bedroom when she stays with us 3 nights a week, and it has all of my baby’s clothing 🤪 and it’s a tiny room to boot! I hate to give up that room but it needs to be done lol hopefully the baby doesn’t mind sleeping in there by herself grammadee but I have a feeling she will not like it too much!! She’s always been a bad sleeper so I am dreading that transition. I love the start of the new school year, even when I’m no longer in school it just feels like a fresh start! I hope everyone is doing well. I went to Michael’s over the weekend and they had some stickers on clearance. I snagged a few packs!

Yikes, I got lost for a day and am so far behind in the thread! scrappyrabbit - I cannot believe she is 1! We struggled to get our oldest to transition to a room of his own - but he and I were chuckling about that when we went out for a walk together yesterday - there comes a day, all too soon, when they want NOTHING to do with your room. Don't worry if she needs you close now - you won't spoil her, she'll still turn out normal, and you might just all sleep better But I can understand how work, play and sleep in 1 room might feel like you are "trapped" when you are trying to "play"! beachy - I too wish I had a small group locally. I'm participating in a 4 day card event (comes with a box Shakti - I'm with you on the box/no-box motivation. If I have to dig thru my own stash it feels like so much more work!) in 3 weeks and I know lots of crafters get together to do it, but I don't know anyone locally. Thanks for the reminder for challenges grammadee - after work, promise! I'm just feeling rather overwhelmed and tired and stressed. Started a new student at work, and he's really nice and polite but I'm having to spoon feed him a bit to get him up and running and I just don't have time for that! He reminds me of my own boys - smart, lovely, wants to help, but doesn't observe terribly well and see what he should be doing, waits for specific instructions. So when I get home, my brain wants to turn off instead of craft.

I have 1 more day of work this week and then I am on a 9 day staycation. oh how fun - enjoy! Yesterday I got started with some extra cute kitty cards so hopefully that will jumpstart my afternoon crafting kitty cards? looking forward to seeing those Ooh, hope that goes well. Those kinds of meetings are so important but I have a lot of trouble handling the conflict and high energy of all those opinions! I hope everyone is civil and your concerns are addressed. Thank you - it was 4+ hours long with almost everyone against the zoning change and only the developers and a couple of real estate agents speaking in favour. The board voted 3-2 against reccommending the change and we get to do this all over again in two weeks at the County Commission meeting (where the actual decision will be made) My baby turns one next week, she starts daycare the week after wow- that feels so fast! Happy almost birthday babyrabbit! Good luck with all the upcoming transitions. Oh boy, actually finished two pages today! woohooo! I managed to make two pages. woohooo! I hope you get to fit in some scrappy time this month but so fun to have a big trip to look forward to. Nice going getting your 2012 pictures in order and ordered! Your upcoming trip sounds wonderful. Thank you. I'm excited My dh, who is post surgical two weeks and not supposed to lift anything more than ten pounds, has decided to rearrange some furniture this morning... Please let the nurse confirm that he can drive after today. yikes - hope he didn't do any damage. What did the nurse say? When will your start packing for your trip. Is DD going with? I'm planning on a trial run of packing this week - just to see if my suitcase will work or if I need to acquire a new one. DD17 is not going with us - she turns 18 a couple of days before we leave, DD24 will be visiting so she won't be alone, and with 7 AP classes, missing two weeks of school isn't really an option. Plus we're travelling with my sister and BIL and tbh, she wasn't invited. I decided to catch up on my monthly "catch-all" pages. Those photos I wanted to scrap that didn't need an entire layout. I might go back and embellish all of them later, but the months of April through August are now in the finished scrap pile. I also cleaned up my desk. that's awesome -well done! I've fallen way behind on this thread, too. :0 I got lost for a day and am so far behind in the thread! Glad it's not just me...I think I'm caught up now but I seriously considered just jumping back in and not going back to the previous posts. I know when I go on vacation in October, there's no way I'll go back in the thread once I return. I'm just feeling rather overwhelmed and tired and stressed ((((Hugs))) I hope you get some rest and the training starts getting easier.

Good Thursday morning. How is everyone doing today? Checked out the sketches yet? Hoping they provide inspiration, but not stress... That said, I have to talk to myself each September. "This is for FUN! The fun can last all quarter! (if not beyond that). These are not school assignments with deadlines!"
Took a little stress off myself this morning by finishing the page that WAS for a deadline--my sample for this next Sunday's sketch. And I sorted the last batch of photos I had printed, put them into labeled envelopes, so they will be easier to grab when I see a sketch that works with that topic or that number of pic's.
Still two sketches "behind" (#4 & #5), but now actually one "ahead" (#8), so maybe I am gaining ground LOL. Seem to have misplaced the photos I had pulled for yesterday's sketch, but hoping they will turn up as I clear off my scrap counter again.

This is to encourage everyone to come and chat, even if they don't have time to respond to everyone. Know that this is NOT REQUIRED! These little glimpses into each other's lives is important for our community. Don't feel like you need spend time you DON'T HAVE to be a small part of the community. Sometimes in our fatigue of real life we need a place that is supportive of where ever we are at!
I went on the hunt for the photo paper I KNEW I had, and found it finally. Since I have the big crop coming up I did order 300 sheets of 4 x 6. That way I can space out my planning. 1) I decide I want to do a page about? 2) Pick a sketch or have a design idea in mind 3) select photos and size-edit and print 4) pick out papers and embellishments 5) put together layout. So printing at home at home is my best option with my Epsom XP-970. I gave up on my Epsom 400 after the second one stopped working, it was nice for crops etc but one cartridge was also not that cost effective.
Finished a page yesterday and working on #4, glad joyfulnana posted hers last night as I can start to think what I want to scrap for #5. Also played with Product last night with some new toys.
Today was hair appointment, errands and later chiropractic for my back that the escalator discombubalated weeks ago.
Linda --Yes with 7 AP classes she can't miss that long AND you are child-free for the trip! jokeysmurf !--sometimes your (read mine too) doesn't want to work with a certain sketch, so good for you for working on need to complete projects. kitbop --Ah a shadowing student. Yes, it does take a lot of brain power to proctor and do your job at the same time. I had student teachers . . . and legally I needed to be in the room as the licensed teacher. BUT it was best to NOT step in, but pre-plan and debrief with them, which was time consuming. katiekaty --I forgot to say it was nice to have an update on your DGD. I did sent her a card How old is she again? joblackford --kitty cards? Sounds like more fun than your Hummel project. How did the surprise for you nephew work out?
Off to plan more photos!

I might actually get something done if I stopped cruising the internet!! But there are such good ideas there!
I started working the the quarter 4 spreadsheet, I was up to the most current list of challenges. Then I lost the whole %^ thing
I'm keeping an eye on the sketches and I have every intention of doing them all - but you know what they say about good intentions.
I need to get my first Cardtober sample done. I leave for a Hawaii cruise on the 27th of this month and won't be back until the 5th of October. Hey, maybe I should add a challenge for "Scrap you trip to Hawaii"

gramma, you could be a little less specific -- scrap beach-themed or tropical-themed pages or scrap a vacation trip. Works for your goal, but more likely to apply to other Peas. I love the little glimpses into everyone's lives. I like the scrappy questions, too, but like the idea QotW much better than QotD! I access the site on two different devices and sometimes that scrambles the "new" link -- I end up backtracked to posts I've already read or skipped ahead, I think. Depending on whether that happens and how long it's been since I've caught up, I might try to respond to everyone or not. If I arrive and someone has posted recently and no one's responded, I definitely make an effort to respond to that. Also, one of those devices is an iPad. That's why some of my posts seem barely literate. I am appalled to come back on the computer sometimes and see exactly how scrambled things end up when I try to type on the Pad "keyboard". Sorry about that....

What messes me up is moving back and forth. For SOME reason LOL, my computer doesn't fill in ends of words or make "I" a capital letter when it stands alone in a sentence. It doesn't autocorrect misspellings, either. Of course it doesn't autocorrect CORRECT spellings like me iPad does sometimes, either.

gramma, you could be a little less specific -- scrap beach-themed or tropical-themed pages or scrap a vacation trip. Works for your goal, but more likely to apply to other Peas. I know there is one there already, I was just being silly ;-)
