I hope it is a wonderful day where ever you are in the world. The weekend for most of us!
QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use?
For me it would have to be paper! I've been collecting now for 27 years , but the plus side is I have used some of those original HOTP Paper Pizzaz lightweight papers in recent layouts. I have gone through several style changes and now that I am where I cannot easily get new patterned papers I am thankful I have variety in my stash.
Spend some time doing what you enjoy! Maybe even paper crafting?

Haha, angel97701 I just pulled out some Paper Pizazz yesterday and hope to use it on a LO today! LOVE having the options my stash makes possible. But it only works if I am not looking for anything specific. Just have to flip through the options until something pops up that works together or with what I already have pulled out. QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? It's a tie between paper and ribbon. But I have to admit my paper takes up WAYYY more space!

QotW: Oh, I seem to go hard in on ALL THE THINGS -- ribbon, enamel dots, paper, it's a toss up. The paper does take up the most space, as grammadee said. And, yes, I too have a HOTP Paper Pizzazz book from my earliest scrap booking days. I am getting a little crafting in, starting work on my fall exchange cards. Went hard in on a bee theme over the last year, which is kind of fall, kind of late summer/native American summer. So I guess I need to hurry up and get them made and mailed before we get into frosty pumpkin autumn....

Like Shakti I have a lot of all the things: definitely paper, but also buttons, sequins, wood veneer, ribbon, and embossing powder!

QOTW - probably paper/cardstock but while I have a lot, I don't think I really have an excessive amount given the amount of scrapbooking I do each year.

QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? I am tagging along on this challenge as a quilter/needlepointer and not currently active with scrapbooking so my answers will seem out of left field! Sorry about that! I have WAY more fabric than I can use in my lifetime. Apparently I'm more of a fabric collector than an actual quilter! I also have a rather large button collection, much of it vintage. Need to start using those as well. Scrapbook related - I have way more paper and stickers than I'll ever use. And now that I want to switch to pocket pages and/or digital, my niece (a 3rd grade teacher) will most likely get the bulk of it at some point.

Ha ha, **GypsyGirl**. One of the reasons I never became a quilter—well, other than I can neither cut nor sew a straight line—was that I knew how huge my scrappy hoard was, and figured that cloth would take up even MORE space LOL

QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? I don't have a huge amount of anything, but I have some things that I rarely use and probably should just let go of - enamel dots and the like, sequins and other little embellishments. And my stash of leftover Doodlebug die cuts could probably be reduced. I do use them... I just keep buying more and they have so many in each pack! I could/should do a big use-it-or-lose-it project in my binder of die cuts (bought and self made) to reduce the stash because there are lots in there I could enjoy using

I don't do heights of any kind. Not even step ladders or climbing on top of a chair. It makes me feel off balance/unsettled. An exception I can think of is being on a roller coaster. It's been a few years since I've been on one, but I've never had an aversions to them in the past. I think they are fun. QOTW - too much patterned paper and embellishments (die cuts/sticker sheets). I love having choices while creating, so it works for me. I just got back from a brunch. I'm heading into the craft room for FaceTime crafting with a friend. Not sure what I'll be working on today. I have some purchases to put away that are taking up space on my desk.

QotW: Sequins/gems...I forgot about them. Probably have too many of those, too.
I have six of the twelve cards I set out to make this weekend finished other than adding sequins (hence my sudden remembering sequins re: QotW). The other six need inner and outer sentiments and sequins.
Sometime during the day today I really realized, like truly started to feel, that now that it's no longer my first weeks on this job, I can work a normal hybrid schedule. So tomorrow I don't need to leave the house by 7:30 to miss the worst traffic. I can probably finish those six cards in the early morning, finishing putting away the craft room, set up the work@home space, and be just fine as far as the work day goes -- w00t!
Holy guacamole!! The Pats won! ALL THREE personalities on the local sports radio station's "NFL Sunday" program this morning expected them to lose, maybe get blown out! I mean, they're no BC Eagles, but they won!!

joblackford Unlike many here I am not "afraid of heights", but stay very aware! As a downhill skier the lifts have never been an issue, and I had a blast at iFly. I always test my footing on ladders and am very careful as balance is an issue--MVA injury from 35 years ago. I am glad your DH found a way to do his job without your help!
grammadee If the truth is told, it is not just paper for me . . . but I do have ribbon, stickers, embellishments, and so on! Ha, glad you got use out off your 30 year old Papar Pizzaz!
justjac I am loving your take on the sketches by the way. See above about my further confession, oh and embossing powder and definitely inks.
Shakti Fall cards are usually scenes or leave for me. I giggled at your frosty pumpkin comment. I made pumpkin scones today, had a hankering for them!
Ryann Hope you had fun in your craft room and maybe looked at all the great sketches everyone is hosting!
**GypsyGirl** I am with grammadee Did not want another hobby that involves collecting. My mom is a quilter--a very good one, so that is where I get my handmade quilts.
Well we are 1/4 of the way through Sketchtember, I am feeling much more energized about scrapping. It is a good feeling.

The plan this weekend was to finish re-siding the shed in the backyard, but we hit a snag when DH insisted he couldn't staple the cedar shingles (above the siding where the roof is a triangle) on without stainless steel non-galvanized 18-gauge outdoor staples, and there are none to be found locally. The Home Depot employee when I went to the store had never heard of using non-galvanized staples cedar.. So the staples had to be ordered from Amazon, and we didn't spend all day today on the shed like we planned, so I got unexpected time to myself and finished two pages.
My other hobbies are knitting which fits in one plastic storage tote, and reading which fits on a bookcase (or five.) That leaves plenty of room for my ever-expanding paper collection... If you removed all the paper from my scrap area, the biggest category left would probably be stamps.

Hey there! Well the weekend went by fast. My mother passed away a few months ago and for a variety of reasons, we didn't bury her ashes until yesterday. It was just the immediate family & a couple of dear family friends at the cemetery and then to a luncheon. In sorting all those pictures last weekend, I came across a lot of pictures of my parents on vacation with their closest friends who have also passed - their daughter was there yesterday and we're going to get together at some point to share pictures. My husband and I were going to go to the movies today but my he hurt his knee and spent the day taking it easy and icing it. I did some prep work for the VB Bold & Bright workshop. Between yesterday and today, I only have to fussy cut two pages and then I'll be all ready. I love this collection so much...it's possibly my favorite ever but for now I'll say it's in the top 3. joblackford - I am so glad your husband was able to work out the roof work on his own. I am ok climbing ladders as long as there is something to old onto. We have this little step ladder with handle bar so I can use it to put up curtains but not change a lightbulb. Going back to your class, I am glad you are getting something out of it. I put a reminder on my calendar to check it out in the beginning of next year. It sounds like something I could really use. breetheflea - bummer about not getting the work done on the shed but WTG getting some pages done! angel97701 - I feel the same way about scraptember...they are all great and I have ideas for most them. Shakti - what a nice realization that you don't have to commute to the office tomorrow. QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use?Where shall I begin? I buttons, brads/eyelets and letter stickers. Oh and card stock.

No scrappy time for me today - we drove into the city to take DD17 to her monthly Girl Scout meeting (an hour+ each way). I did stop in M's and get a hot buy cardstock pack - I like the weight and texture of those and this one had nice usable fall colours. joblackford - not a fan of heights either and Dh who used to be ok with them is increasingly less so with age.

(((((HUGS))))) christinec68 . I am sure this weekend took alot out of you. Nice to share memories, but even a celebration of life brings back the sadness, too. joblackford , you would never get me standing on TOP of a ten foot ladder! I can barely make it to the third step before my knees start rattling. Glad your dh found another way to handle the roof. I finished one two pager today and have another one almost ready to photograph. Was up to date until kitbop dropped tomorrow's sketch. Guess I am technically STILL up to date until tomorrow morning LOL.
So much action on the board this past week! It has kept me busy just making comments! Just printed the challenge list and hope to start adding up points tomorrow.

QOTD: Definitely paper, including cardstock. After packing it all up, moving it, and now in the process of unpacking it and putting it away in it's new space, I can definitely say I have more paper than anything else. But I love having choices when I'm making my pages! :-)
My new scraproom is configured a little differently so I'm working on storage and organization quite a bit these days. We only moved a few weeks ago, and other rooms have taken priority to be organized first. (Who needs a kitchen?? LOL)

QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? For sure paper. I spent several years buying entire collections and then finding out how hard they are to use up lol. I'll never run out of paper. Good Monday morning to ya! This morning. I added title and journalling to the two pager I had finished yesterday evening. Just need to post it. And I think I will try to calculate my points so far, before I forget about things like the crafting hours I spent. Other than that, not much going on here today.

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! joblackford - Thank you for the ipad keyboard info. I'll take a look at it. QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? I think I have way too many stamp sets. I'm trying to decide how to re-organize them so that more of them will be used. Currently, they are organized by company but that isn't working out so well so I'm thinking of rearranging them into major categories. Hopefully, that will help me use more of them.

grammadee - thank you <3 I plan to keep up with my points this quarter as well for the same reason. joyfulnana - I fell into the buying whole collections nonsense as well. For some I don't mind when most of the papers are usable. But I struggle with Simple Stories because they include a lot of cut apart sheets and Cocoa Vanilla because they send duplicates of a few sheets of paper which I rarely ever need. medennis4 - good luck working out a stamp organization system that works for you.

For a Monday, it's not too bad. Work is busy but quiet - just how I like. It's a beautiful day - sunny, mild, no humidity - just how I like. Now if I could only do my work outside. Tonight, I plan to at least start a layout using one of the sketches from last week.

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure it was very emotional looking through those photos, but connecting with a friend (almost a cousin, I imagine, if your parents were so close) will be healing for both of you, I hope. Your VB workshop sounds like a lot of work but worth it I haven't looked at the collection but I'll try to check it out sometime. I've shipped out another Hummel. Tried to give away some china bowls and platters with no luck at all, so I guess they'll be donated. Made plans to pick up the rest of the rotten Hummels on Wednesday so I can power through them and be done!

breetheflea Echo the bummer sentiment about the DIY fiasco on the shed. One of the reasons DIY is time consuming! But glad that you got some creative time. Those unexpected blocks of time are fun!</abbr>
christinec68 Sorry for your loss, working through the grief and reviewing photos can be emotionally draining. May you find comfort in your good memories. Ah a good quiet busy day at work, good for you! QOTD: Definitely paper, including cardstock. After packing it all up, moving it, and now in the process of unpacking it and putting it away in it's new space, I can definitely say I have more paper than anything else. But I love having choices when I'm making my pages! :-) My new scraproom is configured a little differently so I'm working on storage and organization quite a bit these days. We only moved a few weeks ago, and other rooms have taken priority to be organized first. ( Who needs a kitchen?? LOL) Who needs a kitchen anyway? Yes the scraproom is always last! Took me months to get my unpacked and moved in! But re-organizing has a certain satisfaction as you get reacquainted with what you have! I think I have way too many stamp sets. I'm trying to decide how to re-organize them so that more of them will be used. Currently, they are organized by company but that isn't working out so well so I'm thinking of rearranging them into major categories. Hopefully, that will help me use more of them. I feel your pain about too many stamp sets . . . but I have a stamp that says you can never have too many stamps! Mine have been organized by category for years, but those are mostly the stamps without dies, etc. Have some organized by company, but know which company does certain styles. I've been stamping since 1988 or so!
This morning was crisp and calm, so I put on my swim suit and lycra leggins/top and went paddling. It was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY! I had the lake to myself, only saw 2 boats as I headed back towards home. Financial planning meeting this afternoon. After a walk with DH I headed into my craft room to work on sketch #9. Like grammadee I am trying to stay caught up this year. What's helping is I have a new album to work on and can search and print photos as I go for each sketch. Journaling and finishing touches for today sketch, then time to share.

Today I finished one sketch, which took forever for some reason, and then knocked out most of a 2nd sketch really quickly. I used Stickles on the 2nd one and they are taking a really long time to dry (it's been 3 hours.) I'm trying to be patient and let it dry all the way before I add anything else, I don't need to go grocery shopping tomorrow covered in glitter.
I should probably do something tomorrow that is not scrapbooking related, like clean my house or pay bills or something responsible...

Unless I forget and either set something on the wet page or stick my thumb in the wet stuff and leave unwanted thumb prints all over... I should probably do something tomorrow that is not scrapbooking related, like clean my house or pay bills or something responsible... I had to do my adulting today--driving dh to appointments, paying bills, etc. Did my math homework here, so my score is up to date. Hoping to play with a couple of sketches on Tuesday, but I have an on line meeting, so who knows?

Four pages in, and I'm finally ready to join the chat! I am starting to feel better, but still not 100%. On a positive note, I have just finished making a digital template for the last of the Sketchtember sketches so far. I've only finished one layout (for my own sketch), but at least now I am ready to go with the others. I just need to choose the photos and kit to use. I'd like to be able to finish all 30 sketches if possible.
QOTW: Confession time, what supply do you have more of than what you will EVER use? I own waaaaaaaay too many kits. There are some that I bought in the early days if digital scrapping that I know I will never use, but I can't bring myself to get rid of them. Instead I've just hidden them in a secondary folder. I guess when I finally hit my 2TB limit on my iCloud account, I will have to think about culling some kits.

no scrappy time yesterday. We had Open House at DD17's school. There were so few parents, it was really sad. I had noticed last year that there were only a handful in each class and this year, even less. I suspect it didn't help that more than half the students stayed home yesterday after the school shooting threat over the weekend even though they had already identified and arrested the 13 (!) year old who made the threat. And then there was a second threat during the school day at the other high school - the School Resource Officer recognised the social media account and the 17 y/o student was arrested there. I'm guessing classes will be pretty empty today as well since there was a third threat last night (also the other high school though) - a 14 y/o has been arrested this morning for that one. They are all being charged as adults with felony charges. I do have a photo, paper, sketch, and cutapart sitting n my desk so hopefully I can turn it into a layout today. breetheflea and grammadee - I have a drawer that I slip layouts in to dry - it holds my wood mounted stamps so not one I'm reaching in and out of regularly. It cuts down on mishaps (mine or the cats).

joblackford - thank you <3 Strangely, I am not close to the daughter at all. There were very few family get togethers, they were always at their house and she is a few years older than me. No 16 year girl with her friends is gonna want to play with a 10yo she doesn't know. But we've been connected our entire lives and things like age differences don't mean anything as adults. Good luck with the Hummels. angel97701 - paddling on quiet lake on a beautiful day sounds lovely. Good for you staying on top of the sketches! grammadee - I call days like that admin days. I hope you get to scrap today. AussieMeg - I am glad you're feeling better. WTG getting your sketches done. Linda - My first thought about the light attendance at parents' night is the suspicion that it seems to wane as kids get older. But that is an insane amount of school threats and horrifying & sad that it's such young kids. It's good they were arrested before they did anything but still tragic. I am changing my answer to this week's confession time...I have more Vicki Boutin supplies than I can use in a lifetime. For the past year, I was mostly using the Where to Next collection bc of the workshop I signed up for last year. I have a 12x12 iris box of the leftovers from that workshop. Last night, I pulled out my other 12x12 iris box with VB stuff which has and absurd amount of Print Shop papers (a 6x8 pad, 12x12 pad, and 12x12 open stock) and embellishments, letters, etc. Along with leftovers from Sugar Rush, Wildflower & Honey(?) and Color Study. Plus there's the Bold and Bright collection for the workshop that starts in 10 days. It's utterly ridiculous. I did manage to wade through this nonsense and start a layout using Sketch 9 - I need to figure out the journaling and add a few more embellishments. I'll finish it up tonight.

I have noticed smaller participation once kids hit high school (I had kids graduate in 2010, 2018, and my last will be 2025) but last year was noticeably lighter and this year even more so. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up stopping open house in the next few years since there isn't much interest. This year's graduating class is the first to have spent K-12 doing lockdown drills etc...they were in K when Sandy Hook happened - and I think it really takes a toll on them. There've been so many school shooting threats, bomb threats, lockdowns, evacuations, metal detectors... for DD17's high school years especially . My oldest had none of that. My middle was in school when they started doing lockdowns and fencing in the schools but nothing like it is now.
