Hello everyone. It's a busy first week at school. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I got nearly double the number of steps I usually get. I'm hoping to get to a few of the sketches on the weekend. I haven't had the time or energy during the week.

QOTW #1: This is such a busy season coming up: what are you MOST looking forward to, craftwise? I've been on holidays since early August, arrived home yesterday, so I'm looking forward to working my way through all the new photos and stories I want to scrap.

This is to encourage everyone to come and chat, even if they don't have time to respond to everyone. Know that this is NOT REQUIRED! These little glimpses into each other's lives is important for our community. Don't feel like you need spend time you DON'T HAVE to be a small part of the community. Sometimes in our fatigue of real life we need a place that is supportive of where ever we are at! Exactly! Well said! I know I'm very very guilty of this - but please don't put any pressure on yourselves to comment or keep up. It's for fun, encouragement and having a scrappy community. And I AM guilty of putting that pressure on myself so I'll take my own advice lol.

I have few finishing touches to put on my next sketch sample, and alllll I want to do is play with everyone else's sketches lol I'm going to try to scrap and watch the Chiefs, but multi-tasking isn't always good for me lol. Football will win in that case lol.

Enjoy the season joyfulnana and grammaI'm headed to the scrap table to see if I can salvage a layout - I pulled photos, found a sketch, cut the photos to size, and couldn't make papers work the other day so I'm going to try again

joyfulnana and gramma no, football does not always win over scrapping. I'm editing photos while the game plays. DS and DH are glued to the TV as two of the best teams open the season.
My first world problem this evening? I know I must have saved the epherma from my birthday scrapbook cruise in 2019, but can I find it? NOOOOOOOO

My local SU demo had a Paper Pumpkin night; I listened to the opening drive on my way home, but now it’s bedtime.

Happy Almost Weekend!
I know the chat is just for fun and that no one is watching to see who's keeping up - I just didn't expect to fall off 4 days into the quarter. I'll try to keep up from here.
The Sketchtember Sketchmasters are knocking it out of the park!! I have them printed and hope to work with them over the weekend. Plus I have 2 hours of the VB prep class to complete along with some fussy cutting homework. I could use some scrappy time this weekend.
I am starting to transition to from 2 to 3 days in the office next week. I'll lose time with commuting but I am ready to have a thicker work/home boundary.

Also, one of those devices is an iPad. That's why some of my posts seem barely literate. I am appalled to come back on the computer sometimes and see exactly how scrambled things end up when I try to type on the Pad "keyboard". Sorry about that.... I used to have a giant iPad inherited from a relative that had the full keyboard on the screen - difficult to type on but not impossible. Then I inherited a normal iPad from a different relative and it had the weird incomplete keyboard screen where all the symbols are on a different screen or you can pull down. Totally messed me up! The number of times I wrote a word like “don’t” and hit the return key where the apostrophe was supposed to be… I finally bought a cover with a proper Bluetooth keyboard attached. Not perfect but much better! I can swipe type pretty fast on my phone (with a lot of help and “help” from autocorrect 🙄) but the iPad is neither laptop nor phone and sometimes it just messes with everything.

Aha, that's probably why I'm slow replying to threads. I use an iPad to read threads here but when I want to post a reply I have to find my laptop and fire it up first because I don't like the iPad screen keyboard either. I haven't scrapped or made any cards this week because I've been distracted watching the US Open (tennis) when I get home from work. It'll be over this weekend then I'll get back to my regular routines. My DH knows that I get distracted 4x a year for two weeks at a time watching these tournaments.

I know I must have saved the epherma from my birthday scrapbook cruise in 2019, but can I find it? NOOOOOOOO So does this go hand in hand with moving across the country? I think so! And I LOLed when I read your earlier comment about my own new scraproom and if I'm still losing things--- it's so bad, I have made a list in a notebook titled, "Where is my?" and I'm writing things down when I find them because I find them, but then can't find them the next time I need them. The worst was my craft foam - "lost" it 3 times before I wrote down where it is now living. I love my Ipad for reading, but if I reply, I use the voice dictation then just edit for clarity. Typing on it is way too slow.

Good morning! angel97701 - I hate losing things, I hope you find the ephemera. joblackford - my autocorrect and predictive words were out of control replacing words with non-words and anytime I wrote "the" it was replaced with "Theresa". kitbop - a where is it notebook is a great idea! medennis4 - I feel like the US open is late this year but I think it's because Labor Day seems earlier than usual. I hope you're enjoying the matches. I am in the office and don't feel like working. It's good in that there's nothing else to do but work so I'll get things done - if I was home, I'd putter around the house more. It's bad because I got up early and came in even though I am tired now. On the plus side, my husband is going to meet me for a late lunch.

The worst was my craft foam - "lost" it 3 times before I wrote down where it is now living. Um yes, most likely! Just like the myriad of other things that are rarely used throughout the home! When I find them I will have to really have to evaluate "Does this bring me joy?" and then give them to the rummage sale. As for the craft room, ACK! What really works for me is to label, label, label--which I have not done yet. My new craft storage ( Dream Box, 8 cubbies, and a Dream Cart) has easy to see through plastic totes. I does help to find stuff at the front of the tote but not towards the back. I've not taken the time to relabel, and some of the labels from Oregon helped, but aren't fully accurate. I also have 2 large shelves in the garage that have large plastic covered bins to store the rest of my craft room. I had a room that could store almost twice the supplies etc in Oregon. The kitchen, pantry, books--were all sorted, parred down, then moved. While unpacking a few more things didn't make the cut. So fortunately the parts of the home I feel responsible for are organized.
I am starting to transition to from 2 to 3 days in the office next week. I'll lose time with commuting but I am ready to have a thicker work/home boundary. Yeah for this! When I was a fulltime teacher this was VERY hard to do! My local SU demo had a Paper Pumpkin night; I listened to the opening drive on my way home, but now it’s bedtime. Darn bedtime! But sleep is important to stay creative. It’s over. No contest. Football wins lol. No scrapping for me lol. So did you enjoy the game? And gramma?

Found the photos I had set aside. Finished a two pager this morning for SKETCHtember #4. Will get it posted later today. Need to go to town now to do some banking and other errands. Are you talking about Leon Draisaitl, Shakti? Even if he just sits on the bench, he is a great team motivator, full of innovative ideas. Sometimes ya gotta sign the guy just so he doesn't bring those kinds of advantages to the other teams!

If anyone is looking for a keyboard cover for their iPad, this one was recommended by NYT and I love it. It's a proper clicky keyboard and the Bluetooth pairing is excellent. You can also take the keyboard part off if you don't need it (that's what the floating image is supposed to show - it doesn't hover/stand up in the air). The first one I bought didn't fit my iPad (I got it as a returned item but maybe the returner didn't tell them it was defective) but the second one was perfect. Amazon link Today is day 2 of our mini heatwave (back to tolerable tomorrow). The house only got up to 80 yesterday, which is tolerable. Hopefully today will be the same. The shorter days are sad but they do help with keeping the house cooler on 90 degree days... which the PNW does not usually have in September! We're 20F above normal - 90 instead of 70. It's even worse in Portland. And the sparkly vampires up in Twilight country (Quillayute, Forks) must've melted yesterday when it got up to 96 on the coast. Yuck!

Happy WEEKEND!!! Popping in quickly to remind everyone to post your challenges for Q-4. This evening, I need to close off that thread and put together the printable list. Numbers/Sizes and Colours/Moodboards are looking a little lean, but any additional challenges are welcome. Remember these have to carry us over into the holiday season--Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and in North America we have fall and winter. You have twelve hours... GO!

And the sparkly vampires up in Twilight country (Quillayute, Forks) must've melted yesterday when it got up to 96 on the coast. Yuck! LOL!!!! I've been hearing from my PNW peeps that it is no fun. Most people don't realize that in the PNW you don't put in AC, sometimes a window AC but not entire homes. It is only really needed about 2-3 weeks a year. When I lived outside of Portland, my little wood home could handle about 3 days of above 90 weather before is was hard to sleep. Ceiling fans and window fans would help. In Central Oregon we did have AC, which was important during hot smokey weather. Helped keep the air clean in the house. Otherwise the cool evening in the high desert always helped. I hope that you have relief soon!
I "almost" got scrapped out yesterday. I really wanted to finish sketch #4 & #5, and printed photos for #6. While DH and DS were waiting for the Brazilian NFL game to start I finished most of #6. A few final touches and time for photos.

We've been lucky with the smoke and heat this year. Only a couple of days where the house heated up beyond 82, my limit for comfort in the evening. Today the heat is waning but the smoke haze is thicker. It's always a bit creepy when you get sunset golds in the middle of the day.
A huge weight is off me today. My husband has been talking about needing my help on the lower section of the roof, relatively easy to access. But I froze when I tried to climb onto the top step of the ladder to get onto the roof, and I've been having 4am anxiety about getting up there and then freaking out and not being able to stand up or get myself down. I wanted to help him, but I just couldn't.
Today I figured he was going to find a way to do it himself, and he did. He used a jaw stand and a length of wood and had that holding the big wooden thing up in my place. Thank goodness!
Anyone else afraid of ladders? I don't mind being in a high place, but getting up there is really tough for me. The spiral staircase in York Minster was one of the more terrifying things I've ever done, even though I loved the view once I was up there. I almost panicked every time someone had to get past or the handrail ended!

I am soooooo happy, I found it! I found it! I found it! So I went looking for my cruise and travel paper, and guess what is that tote? Yes siree bob, my ephemera from my birthday cruise. Off to scrap! Got my chores done for the day and DH and DS are watching his Domers (U of Notre Dame) play poorly. Hard to listen to him armchair coach.

I’ve never gotten up to our unfinished attic because the access is a makeshift ladder (planks screwed to the wall) leading up to a big trapdoor, but positioned over a steep set of basement stairs. I have enough trouble just with the stairs 😝

Well I got no scrapping done today. Did get some garden work finished with help of dd's family. And I have a plan for my next LO so should be able to get that one finished in the morning.
Oh, and the printable challenge list is ready. Check it out HERE Too bad my printer is misbehaving again. Planning to unplug it overnight and see if a time out might smarten it up... Grrr...
