Happy anniversary, christinec68! I started a two page LO this morning for Sunday's sample, but need to leave it to simmer now for awhile. Should be quick to put together now that I have all the pieces selected. Have another one sort of started, but will need time for more than two thoughts to rub together before that one is completed.

Good morning! I wanted to pop in to say hi and see what you're all up to. Nothing is really going on here. I took the day off work yesterday. It's been months since I took a day just for me with nothing to do. It was so nice and I did nearly nothing. The Vicki Boutin workshop starts tomorrow night. I finished my fussy cutting homework last night. It took 2 hours to do one sheet of flowers but they came out good and it gave me something to do while I was watching TV. I have only used one of the sketches so far and need to go back and print out the more recent ones. Yesterday's looks like something I can pull together quickly. Saturday is my anniversary - 22 years! We're going to dinner at a Capital Grill on Saturday night which will be really nice. That all sounds wonderful. Happy anniversary! The time flies, doesn't it? 2002 seems like forever ago.

Interesting way of approaching it, joblackford . I admit I get a little tangled in the logistics of claiming the making points the month I craft and the sharing points the month I share when they differ.. Unless it's two different quarters it doesn't really matter and if it's only 1 point, I think we'll all forgive you if you accidentally claim it twice! I understand tho. My brain works the same way about some things.

Hello everyone! Up last night with a thunder storm, even Artemis doggie woke up--maybe because I was awake? Sleep is still elusive, but DH is very understanding and is not pushing me to get anything specific done. Well except for dinner, somehow the men in my house always want dinner?
Had a chiro appointment this morning that went well. Then a bunch of errands, including a Hobby Lobby stop for DH to pick up airplane models. Checked on the paper crafting, Paper Studio was 40% off and their paper selection was depleted! I was just in there last week. Good thing I don't need paper! Also groceries, Costco, and Petco. Home for a little nap, now time to craft? Dinner tonight is left-overs, per DH.

Phew, well that's another busy working week done and dusted! I am now in weekend mode. Tonight I will be watching the AFL Preliminary Final (my team should have been playing, but they got beaten last Friday 😫) and do some scrapping.

Happy scrapping, AussieMeg. And I hope you can find someone to cheer for in the game. Hoping to get at least one page finished today. Woke up with a headache, so we will see how this goes...

Ah, not quite the weekend for me, but being retired does have it benefits.
Sleep was better--but awake early with no chance of going back to sleep (5:25). Told DH it was better than waking up at 2:30! Got up around six and started planning photos for Sketchtember #20. It took awhile as a few photos were in long videos. More later when I post the layout. Need journaling & title for #19.
Nice quiet day ahead, time to craft and work on other fun things I hope!

I thought I shared some cards yesterday but with too many other things going on I realized I completely forgot. I tidied up my desk when I was done, put away the kitty cat supplies for now, but I have a couple of random upcycles laid out so I don't get stuck before I get into my next project. angel97701 I will take waking up at 5:25 over 2:30 any day. I was awake at 1:30 the other morning, no idea why. AussieMeg AFL is Aussie Rules, isn't it? We used to watch as kids in NZ and mimic the funny signals the ref makes! You know the one I mean, I'm sure. And the uniforms - I guess being used to watching rugby and league it was funny to see players in sleeveless shirts. Now that I'm used to the snooze-fest that is American football, all of the variants of rugby look very fast and action packed to me. Sorry your team didn't make it through.

I haven't been scrapping the last two days, I decided to work on my photo organizing... Mainly, trying to recover (from Shutterfly/Costco) photos from 2017-2108 that were accidentally deleted from my computer. I'm also trying to look through my albums to see what I have already scrapped and what photos I should order because for some unknown reason I did not scrap anything between Halloween 2018 and March 2019 so I'm trying to get those pictures printed six years later. I think it was because my computer imploded in late 2018 but who knows what I was thinking at the time. Anyway, we're supposed to finish up our shed/yard project this weekend but maybe I will get some time to work on some sketches too.

AussieMeg- I'm now in weekend mode, too!
beachy- Congratulations on your new job!
Honestly, I don't know where the time has gone! I've taken some of my PD dies out and hope to start making a few pumpkins, fall leaves, and Halloween-type felt items this weekend.
I took a quick peek at some of the Challenge sketches and need to start working on some LOs. I'm terribly behind....

Yep, Aussie Rules, the best sport in the world! Even though my team got knocked out in the second week of the finals, we are still sooooo impressed with the boys this year. We started the season losing our first five games, and were expected to finish at the bottom of the ladder (there are 18 teams in the comp), so to finish 7th and play finals was such an over-achievement. I am now hoping that Sydney or Brisbane wins. And yes, I guess our umpires do have some very strange signals, especially if you haven't grown up watching it every week.

I guess I'm jumping in too.
The bad attitude I've been trying to stave off caught up with me at work today. Hope I can get over it this weekend -- that's what they're for, right?
Happened to work a bit of the day at the desk in the doom-doom room. Idly opened a drawer in the dresser where I've stashed the scary scrapbook stuff and instantly realized there twice as many unfinished albums as I thought there were! Maybe someday I'll get brave and dive more deeply.
Feeling both energized and frustrated looking ahead towards a crafty weekend. Found some new card sketches to try. Frustrated with the state of my paper stash. Too much and not right. Getting closer to letting some more things go, I think. But also finding a few surprising candidates to use.

I've been MIA and just jumping back in. Had a free day at home today so spent some time in my guest room, reorganizing table placement and getting the photo boxes set up for me to sort through when I have time. Also unpacked the last two book boxes of scrapbook supplies and got those put away as well. This evening I am going to spend some time sewing.

No yoga today -- sub for the instructor I like. So I crafted all morning. Got a sketch set done that I like much better than the one I did for CARDtober, hated, and wanted to replace -- success! And a card from the manufacturer's inspiration blog post with a product I picked up in the round robin and a new punch/stamp set, so two things get to move into "active stash" -- more success! No idea what I might do tomorrow morning.
Figured out the menu plan and grocery list, but I have no desire to leave the house and shop in the rain. I guess it's pizza night -- not that I'll really want to go out in the rain to get pizza, either.
But it could be worse -- DH is sailing in a race in this weather!
Hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend, crafty or otherwise.

Groceries and library this morning and now laundry and dishes...I do need to go out to WM with DH today as well (DD was with us this morning for driving practise and a bday gift for her is on the WM list).

I’m having a puttering day. It’s lovely weather, very much feels like the last perfect summer day so everyone seems to be out enjoying the sun (except us because we’re indoor cats). I did putter a bit in the garden, coiling up my irrigation hose for the winter. Usually that’s like fighting a 30 ft serpent but today it did my bidding even though I was in a pretty dress and trying not to get my hands dirty and I haven’t even cut back the garden to make space yet. I’m sunning/airing winter clothes outside to mark the equinox. My general reaction to seeing them was UGH. I’ve already added to my donation pile, I know the few things I’m excited to wear, and I’m putting everything else on probation. I don’t want to go clothes shopping so I’m going to see if I can get away with less. BTW I realized one of my jackets had gone out of style because I found out on IG that it had just come back into style! I bought it in 2012-ish near the end of its trend and didn’t notice it becoming unfashionable, but now apparently it’s “in” again Good time to donate it. I don’t pay much attention to fashion but I watch a funny IGer who tries on the latest styles that she also wore in her youth 15-20 years ago. Very funny.

If you bought it at the end of its first trend because it's a style that flatters your body type and that you like, I would totally not donate it now. Fashion is fascism....

In more news about Shakti's crafty life, apparently having my fall exchange cards mailed, my mother's birthday card ready to go, and CARDtober in good shape, I am ready to pivot to holiday cards...who knew? Pulled a box out of the closet and found I have PLENTY of patterned paper -- 12x12, 6x8, AND 6x6, along with some embellishments. I know full well I've done enough holiday events that I have MORE than enough stamps, dies, and stencils. Time to get this holiday party started!!

I had no idea whether it was fashionable or not at any time in the past decade, never even gave it a thought! I wore it until I realized I didn't feel like wearing it any more. Doesn't work so well with my current wardrobe. I just thought it was funny that in the (relatively modest) length of time I've owned it a whole fashion cycle has gone around!

OK, then. It sounded like you might be following some arcane "rule"....
In the cold light of morning, I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to pivot to holiday cards after all.
Having dragged all the holiday stuff out and put in one place, however, I am QUITE POSITIVE that I do not need to buy ANY MORE holiday ANYTHING this year!! And may even need to sell/donate/gift/otherwise destash some. Unfortunately I did already succumb to that SU bird set. But birds are not strictly holiday and I think even the sentiments for that one aren't Christmasy -- that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Have the unattempted ones printed now and on my desk for next scrappy session I have just finished today's sketch, using photos that were taken today, so I am feeling rather chuffed with myself haha! I have completed 14 out of 22, so I'm about two thirds of the way through. I've made the digital templates of the other eight sketches. I'm going to try my best to complete them all by the 7th October, for the points bonus.

Popping in to offer up the Question of the Week:
QOTW: What paper company did you love that no longer produces paper OR was bought out and changed significantly the you REALLY miss? AND do you still own some of the collections?
Mine would have to be Basic Grey! Love the different color palettes and just slightly grungy look. I still have several collections that I bought as paper packs I should dig out! Others that I purchased as individual sheets are safely put away in scrapbooks under photos!
(This question is brought to you by Linda as she used some Basic Grey in the last week or so!)

QOTW: What paper company did you love that no longer produces paper OR was bought out and changed significantly the you REALLY miss? AND do you still own some of the collections? As usual, I have a hard time choosing... I liked and still have alot of Basic Grey--thanks monthly kits--and I love it for background papers. Oh, and their letter stickers. Still have them in tons of colours and they are a go-to for me. I loved Fancy Pants of a few years ago. But their latest collections aren't speaking to me. Whatever happened to Jillibean Soup? Loved it. Still use what I have squirreled away in my teen themed bin. But my all time fav that I miss the most is Little Yellow Bicycle. They were going strong when I started scrapping my young grandkids, and their papers and stickers and colours were so much FUN! Real colours. Happy images. Occasionally I pull out something of theirs from a theme bin or drawer, and still smile.

I have no idea if I am going to finish all 30 sketches by October 7th. I'm currently working on #17. Sometimes finding photos to fit the sketch takes longer than making the actual page. It might be down to staying up late on October 6th but I'm going to try.
What paper company did you love that no longer produces paper OR was bought out and changed significantly the you REALLY miss? AND do you still own some of the collections?
My usual answer would be Basic Grey. I have a Basic Grey drawer in my scrap corner which has quite a few 6 by 6 paper pads and maybe two 12 by 12 partially used collections in it that I bought after they closed. I didn't really "get" them until late in the game... my loss.
My today answer is Jillibean Soup. The papers that I have left are mostly scraps. They just had fun colors and unique patterns.

Ugh!! I broke my die cut machine. I knew it was bound to happen but was hoping it wouldn't break on me during the project. I'm halfway through cutting out felt shapes. I checked local stores but nobody has one in stock so I ordered a replacement online--- should get here on Wednesday.
I hope to work on some LOs today. Hopefully, I'll get a few sketches done by Oct.7th.
QOTW: What paper company did you love that no longer produces paper OR was bought out and changed significantly the you REALLY miss? AND do you still own some of the collections? Like grammadee and breetheflea, I miss Basic Grey papers. I also liked October Afternoon's vintage designs. I still have some OA paper that I'm hoping to use for some family history LOs.

QOTW: What paper company did you love that no longer produces paper OR was bought out and changed significantly the you REALLY miss? AND do you still own some of the collections? While I'm really enjoying using the Basic Grey I've picked up from other crafters destashes - it wasn't one I especially cared for back in its heyday - I was primarily scrapping young children and the grunginess didn't appeal. There are other older brands I've picked up in destashes that I either wasn't aware of back in the day or couldn't afford or didn't love that I'm enjoying using - Piggy Tales, OA, Yellow Bicycle all come to mind but there are others I do miss Bazzill's cardstock packs - the Mono, Trios, and Fourz Chatterbox, KI Memories, Daisy D (I loved their kraft based lines), Karen Foster, Pebbles were ones I loved back in the day. But more than a specific brand, what I miss most is versatile collections with non-themed/lightly themed embellishments in a VARIEY of colours

Home after church. Spent yesterday being mostly crafty. It feels really nice and fun. So energizing! Knocked out #21 and most of #22, just journaling left. It has been so fun to work through the sketches in a timely fashion--unlike any other year of Sketchtember. IN 2022 I got about 2/3's done and many were the Hawaii '21 album. Finishing this album up soon.
AussieMeg did your preferred team win? I know you fav's are out. Not familiar with Aussie Rules, will have to look it up. Your weekend is now over--I suppose you are sleeping right now? Also had to look up "chuffed", I suppose I am too!
Linda --shopping trips done and plans being made for your trip I suppose. Good luck with getting ready and squeezing some crafty time in.
Shakti --ah you are getting things done in the crafty space. Good luck staying frozen on holiday supplies Hope job is more engaging tomorrow!
breetheflea jokeysmurf You know you get points for organizing photos right? Too bad about your digital photo loss. Prior to my iCloud account I made a habit of backing up photos about once a month. When I switched computer I had to reload some photos from earlier years from discs. I'm glad I had them! How did the shed/yard project go?
medennis4 Remember the sketches are for fun and no pressure! Hope that you get inspired. Oh no about your die cut machine! So frustrating. I've broken a cuttlebug and an older Spellbinders machine.
joblackford I've not yet even thought about switching my closet over. In this house I do have to move seasonal clothing from one closet to another. In my Oregon home my master closet was so huge it wasn't necessary. But moving stuff does cause you to evaluate what you have. Moving was another big way to purge! BTW your kitty cat cards are super fun.
More fallish weather here, with slightly cooler temperatures. Lovely day to watch the lake and the fishing boats. There is a tournament on the lake this weekend, so the boat launch was full!
Off to finish a few things and work on Cardtober samples.
