Georgia HS lock down poss. shooting

Unfortunately nothing says "it's the start of a new school year in America" quite like a school shooting. Makes me anxious that I just sent my kids to school today.

This is not far from me. At least one person was life flighted out. They are just saying it is an active shooter situation.

A bunch of kids are on the football field waiting for parents to pick them up & as you can imagine, it’s a huge traffic jam. A big group of kids made a prayer circle on the field

They just reported there are casualties but they don’t know how many and a suspect is in custody.

Why would it stop when nothing has changed?

Isn’t that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over & over but expecting a different outcome.

Queue the normal responses

Cue the calls to arm teachers. Our country is insane.

My best thoughts going out to the families of those killed or injured. But since thoughts and prayers don't actually change anything, the best thing I/we can do for those families is to VOTE in November.

On it. Those kids have been doing active shooter drills since they were in elementary school.

CNN now has at least 4 dead and 30 injured.
At least the suspect is in custody this time.

Confirmed! Although MSNBC is staying only 9 injured...

See I had originally listed some of the normal responses after my last sentence but then erased them.

But that particular one I had forgotten or blocked out not sure which.

I erased the list because it seemed insensitive or something that I can’t quite put words to. Just watch the next week and the same old responses will roll out from the GOP. At this point, I think we could all play $20,000 pyramid with GOP responses to a school shooting as the blocks you need to guess and win getting all 7 answers because it’s nearly always the same responses. Not sure pantomime would even be needed

The crazy, sick, and twisted thing about this is...

It is easier to ban cell phones from kids hands that is a life line in situations like this than it is to ban weapons from their hands that takes that lifeline away.

Ban the fucking weapons. Ban. The. Guns. Not the fucking phone.
