Since you asked, I'll repeat the housing trends that I have already mentioned countless times. I dislike all white and gray interiors. To me, they just are way too reminiscent of either an office cubicle, or, if entirely white, then an operating room. If it was just the walls, you could easily repaint, but it's often the flooring, and all cabinets and countertops as well. I also dislike when people take an old house and rip out a whole bunch of walls either to make a new floor plan or to create an open floorplan. I get it--some people cannot afford a newer house, and so they buy what they can and change it. But when people take down walls in old houses they also take down any features they held--like built-ins, original doors, original trim, etc. And every time that happens we further shrink the pool of old homes that still have those original features. And that makes me sad. There are plenty of 60s forward ranch and split level homes that are nothing more than a basic rectangle with no other distinguishing features whatsoever that went up all over the country in droves. I wish people could get their hands on those and change them instead. Or if they are changing the layout in an old house, then they likely (in my area, anyway) are taking down lath & plaster & replacing it with dry wall (and often basic dry wall in terms of the many, many flips happening around here), which is such a poor substitute in terms of fire-resistance, natural insulation, and mold/moisture control. I am on your bench. Dh and I love woodwork. I love old craftsman style and Victorian houses that have intact woodwork. Every new house I have walked into that is all white, is just depressing. I need to find the house that I was looking at last week. Big spendy house. Everything was white.

I think different people can carry off so many of these trends that aren't for me. I guess this stuff doesn't bother me. I like people being different than me. I feel like I have seen enough decades go by that things that are new to some are not to me. Why not let people who haven't experienced the different styles just enjoy it all? I tend to agree. I’m fascinated by the long ornate fingernails but only to see them on others. They aren’t my style. Same with the overly full, bushy eyelashes. I’m intrigued by them and can’t believe they aren’t annoying to wear but I’m entertained by those who wear them. What a boring world it would be if we all did life in the same way. I always watch Jasmine Crockett's (congresswoman) eyelashes and think she has the confidence to carry them off.

Mom jeans, denim with denim, unless different colors, denim dresses, baggy pants…I tried some of the cutest “cargo-type” baggy sweats at Anthropology. I’m 5’1”, so they swallowed me whole. Wide legged/flair cropped pants. Super baggy tshirts. I have two…I am about 25-30 lbs overweight at the moment, so I wear an XL in most women’s tshirts…they are both mediums because they are huge!
Anything “Tuscan style”…in my house.

Honestly I’m fascinated by long nails and eyelashes. I think they’re amazing — couldn’t do either one myself but they’re really cool to look at. Even two week’s growth on my nails gives me the heebee jeebees.
I don’t mind what other people do — and I’m confident in what I like or don’t for me.

I thought of another one. I do not like open shelving the kitchen. I prefer cabinets with doors.

I do think crop tops are "starting" to wan---a lot of oversized things (I know some are oversized crop too) are in, but many don't look all that great on anyone who isn't at least 5'7 and under 150 lbs.
I really don't love all the extreme plastic surgery and constant botox/injections/etc... I am not against any of those things on their own---and people have the right to do what they want, but I think it is setting a weird and worrisome president in many ways.

Interiors with blue accents. I am not a blue person, except a deep navy would be ok in certain circumstances and applications. If I see another item of blue and white Chinoiserie pottery, I think I’ll lose it.

I am pretty firmly in the camp that if you wore it the first time around, skip it the second time. I DO NOT want to wear a crop top! This trend can end any day.
I will admit to getting some new flares though, and I love them as much now as I did then. They aren't as extremely low cut though, thank goodness. I no longer have matching thongs and bras. 🤭🤣

I'm horrified by "mommy influencers" who teach their young daughters how to pose provocatively (one hip jutted out, etc) in skimpy bathing suits and clothes.
Some of these moms are making SO much money on Instagram/ TikTok / Youtube they don't care about their childrens' photos being altered / put on p*rn sites / being on the dark web, etc.
Researches have reported the largest audience that look at these YOUNG girls' photos are men of all ages.

Speaking of what I posted above, some of these Moms are making MILLIONS from exploiting their innocent children (along with shilling crappy products). Jordan Page is a scamfluencer that we've discussed here several times. I don't actually look at her Instagram, (and never will!) I've just read about her disgusting posts and shilling crappy products on Reddit. She posted her three-year-old son asleep, with his hands down the front of his pajamas, and made some silly comment. I hate to imagine how many "LIKES" and how much MONEY she makes from her posts. I'm sure that many pedophiles LOVED that photo! She has also referred to her 13-year-old son as a "STUD" and often posts about how great his body is. (ETA: pantsonfire---I know you're familiar with her, so I wondered if you knew about any of these disgusting pics she posted? )

Oh, and adding my vote for not liking the long fluffy eyelashes and long fingernails with plastic stuff all over them, or the super pointy ones. Y'all must not work with a lot of black women! This fabulousness is not only tolerated, it's EXPECTED here. Well, no one is supposed to have long fake nails here, but the eyelashes are pretty amazing. As is the hair. One white male lab tech had the longest fake lashes I've ever seen though, put the rest of us to shame.

It’s hard to keep them clean, and they are pretty short. The thought of those nails with 3D stuff on them gives me the heebie jeebies.

The older I get the less I really notice stuff. I do hate those big caterpillar eyelashes. They just look fake and I thought the whole point of fake eyelashes is to make them look real 🤣.
The good news is gray is on its way out for the most part. Owning a flooring store a lot less people are picking out gray floors and just going with lighter wood colors in general.

My DD is horrified by some of the stuff her peers post on their public Instagrams. These girls are 14-15 years old and even DD recognizes that these clueless kids could be inadvertently doxxing themselves by posting / tagging real names, specific locations, etc. and the photos themselves could definitely attract the wrong kind of attention from the wrong kind of people. She was scrolling through the public profiles for some of the girls from her school a couple weeks ago, showing them to me and saying, “do their moms not LOOK at what they’re posting online?” 😳😬 And sadly, I had to agree. I’m so glad I’ve raised my kid to have a little more common sense.

crazy4scraps..... SO glad your daughter has common sense. I feel so bad for all these babies/ toddlers/ school-age/ teens! When my friends and I were growing up in the 70's/ early 80's, we still played with Barbies until age 13. We were so innocent and naieve, the way it should be when you're so young. It's heartbreaking what people are posting for approval / attention. Even WORSE when their Mom is the one exploiting them !!!

I don't know how to tag, but this is the white house that came to mind when you talked about white. White House. huskergal.... To tag someone, use the @ sign, then type their name. (*the tricky part is when someone's screen name has been changed, so their ACTUAL screen name is different than the way it was originally spelled). To find the correct spelling of their name, just hover your mouse over the name. I may not be explaining this well. *Example.....to tag *ZEE* , you would need to hover over her name to see that it's actually spelled *ZG*

I am over torn jeans. Especially torn skinny jeans. Just wear shorts. Just wear jeans. I have never liked torn jeans especially the ones that show all of the thighs. This! It’s ridiculous!

I read reddit sometimes and it seems when these super Mormon moms divorced, they jump into the deep end and go crazy. The former scrapbooker Liz did the same when her husband died. She posts gross bikini photos with her new boyfriend embarrassing her kids. It's like they have an awakening of some sort of how suppressing the religion can be ??!!

GNOMES! They used to be one of my favorite things and weren’t easy to find and now they are so all over the place I want to toss the ones I have.
Flash sale tattoos. I have no problem with tattoos in general but at least in my area the tattoo places do “flash sales” where they have walls of different predrawn tattoos for cheaper than normal. They are mostly simple and quick to do and the 18-20 something crowd feels like they are getting a great deal so they go get them. Then they end up with like 10 different random tattoos on their body. I’m more of a if you’re going to cover your arms in a tattoo make it a cool sleeve not a bunch of odd stuff. I also feel like tattoos should have some personal meaning but that’s just my opinion.
Crocs, especially with charms on them. I was really surprised when dd brought home a guy friend who had crocs with charms. I had no idea that was even a thing.

We could not be friends. 😂 We lived in Asia and I brought back lots of it, only to find that Home Goods had done the same. Mine’s different, but to the casual observer it still looks like HG. I still love it and the rest of my Asian $#*t, as my kids call it.

I hated them with a white hot passion when my SIL’s kids were little, mostly because they would take off their shoes just inside the door in a heap that the next person going in or out would trip on. Fast forward a couple decades and now I own multiple pairs and live in them daily. I bought my first pair of Freesails probably about 15 years ago (because they are less Croc looking, LOL) to wear when we’d go out on our boat. Liked them so much I bought a second pair to leave at home to quickly throw on when I take the dogs out. Liked them so much for that I bought a lined pair of low boots for the same purpose but once it’s cold, snowy and wet out. Liked THOSE so much I bought a pair of the regular lined ones to wear around the house, and that was it. Now I’m all in. Yes, they’re clunky and ugly as hell but you know what? I’ve come full circle and I love the damn things. Don’t knock ‘em til you try ‘em, LOL.
