Well, I was one who couldn't stand Rome and then after he got kicked off I thought "Well, I feel bad". lol He actually seemed like a decent guy. He was excited to sit in Jeff's seat, he called out the bs amulets.... I just think he came out too hot, too fast (I hated the way he treated sol however) and his edit wasn't great. I kinda wish he would have stayed around a few episodes post-merge to annoy some new people. lol

Interesting 2-hour episode! First, the way the yellow team came from behind to finish the first puzzle was amazing. Second, I must mention the capsized boats. I have seen two boats capsize in a challenge. Third, after Andy's melt down I think I would vote him out. He's going to be a loose cannon going forward. But they voted out John instead. I don't know enough names to say who I like yet. Next week. It’s funny that the first 5 posts to start off the season here mention Andy ☺️ I have a good friend named Andy who is 47 lol Probably one of the reasons I was drawn to watch the show. But I didn’t know there was an Andy until I watched the first episode. So now I have a bias towards Survivor Andy ☺️ But I do like that he’s a numbers guy lol I’m finding it hard to believe certain things on this show. But I guess that’s reality tv. I do like the puzzles they put together. And the lesson they learned that it’s about teamwork.

That was the longest tribal council on record. They need to cut Survivor to one hour. Way too long. Ask a few questions. Do the reveal. Scramble. Vote. This was just painful to watch.
I do think Tiana was the target all along since even her friend voted for her.

I do think Tiana was the target all along since even her friend voted for her. She has been Gabe, Sue and Caroline's target for sure. Kyle is more of a free agent, but smart enough to know he doesn't need another reason to put a target on his back after winning immunity again. Caroline talks a big talk, but wouldn't know a big move if it was handed to her on a platter IMHO. I loved the way they edited Gabe and Rachel's prejury discussion. He sounding sincere and genuine, giving her a hug and rolling his eyes at the camera. Followed by her confessional that she didn't buy anything he was selling. I also hope Rachel sees her all women alliance can't include Caroline or Sierra going forward. I loved Andy this week, especially his scene at the beach writing out the names and pairings. Things can spin into a muddle in your head so I completely related to seeing him writing things down. I also loved that it was Sol that found the advantage at the reward and he didn't tell anyone! Everyone thought Rachel was a goner and I really enjoyed watching her walk away from tribal.

I really like 1.5 hours - they get to show much more of the social dynamics that used to be glossed over. I'll be interested to see at the beginning of next week if they tell us who they were planning to vote for.

Also, I realize with the whole show, even with the social part, the editing is very selective.

We didn't know how Sol would get the advantage to Rachel. The entire time they were talking about who was getting the boot, we were worried for her. When she pulled it out of her pocket, it was priceless to see the looks of the other 5 as well as the people sitting in the *jury*. If I were Sol, I would tell Rachel in private that he saved her. And yes, TC went on way too long. DH kept saying that they were rehashing everything over and over, just get to the vote!
I wonder if they would have kept the 6 on the reward beach until someone found the advantage. If no one found it what would happen. I think production would have whispered in someone's ear that there was an advantage to be found. Maybe that's what actually happened.

I feel like Tribal was longer bc it was almost 2 of them. 1. how Rachel was at the bottom and about to go 2. them scrambling to implode the 5

I just don't believe production would have whispered in anyone's ear. Because the advantage was so tied to this tribal, at most they might have moved it to somewhere more obvious like on top of the pile of rib bones and then we would have been entertained by a dog pile as everyone saw it at the same time. If that happened, I'm sure we would have seen a discussion/consensus on what to do with it. And I think the end result would have been the same.

If anything they would have told the whole group and let them find it. I'm still sad that Gabe didn't go home.

I'm still sad that Gabe didn't go home. Me too. I really dislike his belief that he can control the other players, and his smirk when it works. I was irritated with Sue for telling him what she had been told by someone else. I think part of my impatience with the TC going on so long was that it prevented a possible blind side of Gabe. He had way too much time to turn things around.

I am irritated every time they show her dirty face on TV. And, Lord forgive me, but did anyone else see her mustache? I saw something, maybe it was dirt but it was very distracting.

Sue thinks she is a player and is oblivious to the fact that some of them are just dragging her along as she does what they want. However, she is not trustable as she can't keep her mouth shut!

DH and I both noticed the mustache. It was very dark. I'm liking Sol more and more with every episode. Well played by him! We wondered too how he got the advantage to Rachel. I didn't have strong feelings either way about Tiana so no big loss there. Still liking Andy and Kyle too. For some reason none of the women are really impressing me except for maybe Teeny but she's so quiet and almost timid. Sue needs to go. I'm okay with the longer episodes but I wish they had more action, less talk if they are going to go that long. We had to watch in real time due to some TV issues. Without being able to record and skip the commercials- yes...way too many commercials!

I imagine everyone will assume the advantage was at the feast. They would know anyway that it came from one of the people sitting in the jury seats. I'm guessing production asked him who/if he wanted to use it on and they took it from there. It just cracks me up that Rachel knew about it (although not what it was for) the entire time they were at tribal. The looks on the other 5 were just priceless. I like Rachel so I'm glad Sol used it on her. We've liked him all along, partly because of how awful Rome was to him. And that he had the restraint not to murder Rome in his sleep.

So tonight was the auction which was lots of fun. Since he had the most money left at the end, Sam lost his vote. Also, Andy totally sucked and didn't find any money to spend at the auction.
At the immunity challenge, there were two necklaces ~ one for the men, one for the women. Sue won for the women and Kyle won for the men. (He better keep winning because the minute he doesn't, he'll be voted out.)
Rachel found an advantage in her fries that she won at the auction. It told her there was an idol sewn into the corner of the tarp at camp. Bless her heart, she managed to use the machete to get it while everyone was sitting in the shelter!
Her name was thrown around for eviction as were Sierra and Sam's. Rachel used her shot-in-the-dark but she was not safe. It ended up a tie between Sam and Sierra. On the revote, Sierra was sent as the first person in the jury. And Rachel still has her idol!

Love the food auction and I knew that there would be something horrible in it either a bug or some kind of creature. They haven’t done that in a long time. I did feel bad for Andy. So many of them were in plain sight, but he just wasn’t like looking down.

I remember from long ago, it was like "eat it" or lose ... Now, it seems they give them a choice to step up for the challenge or not. Of course they still benefit from eating the icky things, but don't necessarily lose immunity if they can't choke it down. LOL

I am team Rachel, Sol and Kyle.
I also wondered why Rachel used her shot in the dark and risked not using her idol. There was probably some stuff going on behind the scenes.
I love the auction. Andy. Duh!
Eating the fish eye was worse than the grubs. At least with the grubs you got a great breakfast.

I don't get why Rachel used her shot in the dark??? vs her idol? It looked like she was checking the reactions of everyone else to see if she needed to use the idol. Since no one really reacted to her being not safe (no relief because they wanted her out sort of thing) she gambled and is saving the idol for another council. The auction was fun, the fish eye not so much. I can't believe Andy didn't find any money - the montage of that was funny.

I got to do something fun last night. I went to an early screening of tonight’s episode hosted by CBS. I can’t talk about the episode until it airs, but it was so much fun watching with a lot of people all having reactions together.
The event was hosted by Q from last season, and a bunch of other players were there: Hunter, Wendell, Brice, and two players from this season, Sam and Genevieve. I got to meet all of them, ask lots of questions, and take pictures.
