Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are doing well today. Have some housekeeping to do later but it can wait until I finish having fun on my art. LOL! We didn't make it to the tennis courts last weekend but hope we can play this month. I just left the gallery and left some cheers for you gals. linda your layouts are terrific! So nice to see your lovely pages. linda- Boy, that sounds like a lot of yard work to do. I guess it was from the hurricanes. That is a lot of land to take care of. Maybe those nice men you helped you after the hurricane will show up again. That would be great. grammadee- What a beautiful winter wonderland in your yard! Love that scene! nylene- How fun that IHOP had free veteran's meals. So glad you both were able to get out and enjoy yourselves. We have an IHOP near by and have enjoyed getting our free pancakes on our birthdays. We went to this place called Bob's Big Boys on Sunday night. They have yummy home style foods and their pancakes are so delicious. Ron got that and I got their burger and fries with a side salad. I was so full when we left. LOL! joyfulnana- How is your knitting going? What about your knitting partner, is she still helping out? justjac- Your cards in the gallery are so fantastic!

Good Morning Pokeys! Glad you have your priorities in order kellyr21! I have given up on the knitting for now so no one is getting a blanket this year. There's too much left to knit, it's too much pressure, and I would really really rather scrap. They both have birthdays in June, maybe by then it will be finished lol. I'm figuring out how/when to join in this weekend with the crop mom is opening. I'm excited! I am so envious of all of you daytime cropping peas lol. I've get to head to work so I'll wave hi and hope everyone has a great day!

Well, winter found us. I was grateful for my winter tires on the drive to work. Thanks for the positive comments kellyr21. joyfulnana I am still doing a little knitting, but the puzzle afghan is going to take me another year, I'm pretty sure. The Awesome Ladies Project is having an online scrapbook festival this weekend, so I will have a few classes and hangouts to attend. I got a haircut yesterday. My hairdresser moved to a town 25 minutes away, which isn't really too long a drive, but it used to be only 10 minutes across town so I am adjusting. Have a great day.

Linda , more wonderful layouts from you. I love the skates! I think that image was one of the reasons I wanted that cartridge! Love your pages relating to the skating party, but sorry about the broken wrist! Glad she didn't need surgery. Is that fabric or cut pieces of paper on A's art project. I am sorry she couldn't take it home. It should hang in her room. Love the kitty pages and the page about movies and munchies made me nostalgic for the days I watched chic-flix with my DDs. joyfulnana , it's too bad that you are stopping your knitting. I hope Bess settles down and you can get to it later. The boys will appreciate the blankets even in the summer! Do you have Rudy duty this weekend? The older Alex gets the less I see him. He spends a lot of time on his bike but even though we are only a couple of miles apart, it is major roads between us so he isn't safe on them. justjac , I know winter has to come, but why does it have to come on the roads? I'm glad you have your snow tires on and ready. Do your students find it hard to get to class in the winter snows? How short did you cut your hair? Wish I had your beautiful curls! Have fun with your Awesome Ladies! kellyr21 , I didn't know IHOP has free birthday pancakes. It is on the opposite end of town and is in a nightmare spot to get in and out of the parking lot so we haven't been there for a couple of years. I'm glad you are having fun with your art. Hopefully you and DH can get some tennis practice in the next few weeks. I have finished a couple more pages but haven't posted yet. Hope to do that today. I saw a different therapist this week and he was really pleased with my range of motion too. I have to wait until I see the Dr. again before they start strengthening exercises, so that is early in Dec. I am hoping that I continue to do well.

Hello Pokeys. Good to hear from so many of you over the last few days. So good to hear about your mobility progress, nylene! Sending thoughts to gramma and family. Glad you got to work safely on these roads, justjac. Sunday I didn't have to drive on them cuz dd's family picked me up. Dgs and I had a busy couple of days, but we managed to go through all the toys, discard the broken/unusable ones, and get the rest back into tubs and onto the shelves neatly. When I was cooking supper yesterday before driving him in to town for hockey, he disappeared. When I went to check he was building with TinkerToy in the basement. I didn't take a pic, just reminded him that we wanted the basement floor clear. He grinned and promised to put it away when he was done, and when I checked later, it was all stowed away again. kitbop, how will the contract deadlock at Canada Post affect your family? I have been doing alot of Christmas shopping on line, and hoping the looming postal strike won't delay receipt of gifts too much. Hoping for a settlement that is fair to the unions, but hoping it can be reached without too much disruption. I noticed today that an Amazon order was being shipped via Purilator rather than Canada Post, so at least that one will arrive on time. My focus is split between cards and pages. I hope to do some Christmas card prep on Saturday morning. I finished a two pager this morning while dh was in town, and have another one started. Waving hi to everyone

kellyr21 - I like those priorities yes - much of the yardwork is hurricane clean-up but there's also the regular yardwork that was neglected because of the hurricane/hurricane cleanup and our trip joyfulnana - sorry about the knitting but I'm sure they'll love blankets for their birthday and it sounds like knitting isn't bringing joy right now. (((Hugs))) hope to see you on Saturday - I do have errands to run (groceries, library, etc...) but otherwise hope to spend lots of scrappy time. justjac- enjoy your scrappy weekend plans! Sorry winter found you already nylene -Thank you for all the lovely comments on the layouts. Hoping to get some more done this afternoon. I'm SO happy that your shoulder is doing so well. Looking forward to more good news when you see the doctor again. I've been working on sharing DH's trip photos on FB now they are all sorted and labelled. But FB keeps telling me I'm posting too much/often so it's a slower than expected process. The next step with photos will be figuring out what layouts I want to do and ordering the photos for them. Planning to join the afternoon crop though and work on some more August 2022 layouts - there's only a few more and then I'll be done with 2022

grammadee, I can identify with your toy sorting. As soon as I had everything stowed away, Alex decided he wanted to build with the homemade Lincoln logs DH built. That is a BIG crate of blocks and I just sighed. But every last one was put away when he finished. It's nice to have grands who know what makes gramma happy! I didn't know about your post strike! What a terrible time to have a strike (probably why they did it, actually) when people are doing a lot of shopping and mailing. I hope it is settled quickly. Best wishes to you and justjac and kitbop on getting things on time. My inch high stack of recent photos is down to 3/4 inch of photos. Little by little I am getting through them. I am really simplifying pages but still feel ok about them. I have boxes of others that need to be done. I also have tons on the computer that I need to get through and ordered by Sat. while I can still get the 50% off developing at Walgreens. Then I will have another huge stack....never ending!

Congratulations to Eddie and his family on the baby brother on the way! And the birthday layout is so sweet with the little helpers! I have two more layouts to do to finish up 2022...I think... And I have 3 more days of DH's photos to upload to FB.

You ladies have been busy! I hope to get to the Gallery and the Sharing Thread later to leave some love. nylene I have been trying to polish off sets of pic's I have had stacked by my scrap counter for awhile. My preferred way to scrap is to stick within a theme until I am done with it. That way all the relevant supplies are close to my fingertips, and my mind bops back and forth from photos to supplies for inspiration. But I almost always have to move on before I have finished scrapping all the pic's in that theme, and the left overs remain stacked at the end of my counter. Lately, though, I have been getting myself to include at least one set of those stacked pic's into my crafting plans. Yesterday I scrapped a summer birthday in between two autumn LO's. Hoping to get some travel pages done next time I scrap. But I am always most excited by the latest and greatest LOL, so once I get my Halloween photos printed, that is the theme I will hit next... Yard work is not alot of fun, Linda, unless you live in one of those lawn tractor ad's where the attachments do everything for you and you just "play in the dirt". I am so glad that dd's family is close enough to come here and help with the big jobs. Sounds like tomorrow will be a crafty day for many! Have fun with the Awesome Ladies, justjac. Hoping to see @jofulnana and/or Linda at the DD Prep crop tomorrow. I hope to sign in to chat while I cut pieces for Christmas cards. On the agenda for today is an Acorn Stairlift rep that dh invited here for later this morning, and then an away hockey game to which I have offered to drive dgs (His dad will be meeting us there). And sometime I have to do a little laundry. Really thankful for the machines that do that while I am otherwise occupied, although I am still dreaming of a washer that sorts and a dryer that folds LOL.

sounds like lots of driving and not much scrappy fun for you today grammadee. Hope to see you tomorrow for the crop. I have housework to do today and then will go with DH when he drops off DD18 for her ride - she's camping this weekend. I finished off a page last night and I think just have one more left to finish off 2022 so hope to get to it today. DD18 gave me the journalling last night which should help.

Linda, another great set of pages. Love the font on A's page with the pencil silhouette. Your Tabby page looks so professional. Clean and classy! Cute panda on Panda Express...hmm wonder how he ended up with that? I laughed at your basket of kitties. Cute page. Your last page brought back memories of that paper. I remember using it and loving the stripes. You are a busy scrapper! grammadee, I hope the road are clear and you don't have any trouble getting to the game. Good luck to DGS. I am getting a haircut on Sat. and have to do some work on my church bulletin board. I'd like to drop in on the crop, but may not get to do that. Pt went well today but I am exhausted. Em is taking DH to Costco and they were happy to leave me home. DH got up early and cut up veggies and started the crockpot full of chicken and veggies for soup. I'm really glad I taught him how to make a few things. He's really proud of himself and we will have delicious soup this week. Have a great weekend, Pokeys!

nylene - thank you so much. I'm glad PT went well and that you stayed home from Costco to rest. That's awesome that DH is making soup! I finished the 2022 album (ok so it's 4 albums plus 3 trip albums, lol). Going to work on December layouts this weekend - I have gaps in 2012 and 2014 and I don't think I've started 2023 or even printed 2024... We dropped DD18 off halfway to camp this evening - her leader met us there and picked her up. She'll be home Sunday. They are tent camping and doing an orienteering event tomorrow.

justjac , another 15 minutes driving can feel like an hour sometimes lol. For some reason, I thought you and grammadee were getting together this weekend, your festival sounds very fun! I could just hear both of you, grammadee and nylene with the boys lol. I could definitely hear the sigh nylene LOL Smart boys too, picking it all up lol. nylene and Linda , I've been intentionally simplifying my pages as well. I want quicker output. I don't mind being Pokey but I feel like I'm at a stand still lately. I can get bogged down in finding the perfect embellishments and such. nylene you have the most adorable grands and great grands. And that looks like one proud big brother! The green really pops against the flowers and so do the photos. So pretty! So great that PT is going well and you are feeling so much better! Linda I love the page design and colors you used on Cavan! It really caught my eye. And I always enjoy the kitty layouts. The two in the clothes backet are so cute, and that Shimelle line is my favorite line of all time so far. Is DD enjoying her stay or is she antsy for home? I would be the latter by now for sure lol. All Hail Patrick Mahomes gramma The Chiefs Bills game is the only game airing across the country Sunday at 3:25PM CST. No other game being played will air. I'm looking forward to it. lol. Especially with Josh Allen acting like this game is no big deal. Oh, Ok lol. kitbop I hope the strike ends soon with the union members getting what they want from it. And that it won't effect your family too awfully. It sucks that it's happening at the holidays, but also what great leverage for the workers. So it turns out that Bess does like videos. So much that she sits in front of the TV for quite a time intently watching lol. I'm so glad the work week is over, whew! I'm going to join with mom's crop this morning for most of the morning, pick up groceries later and then join again in the afternoon is she ends up doing that. I hurriedly set today aside, it feels like a treat to plan a day of scrapping or whatever with no guilt. Man, Thanksgiving is coming up fast and I am getting caught flat footed by the holidays again this year. Maybe I should put them on the calendar LOL. I think I'll be working on my PL and then we'll see. Looking forward to cropping with you later!

Is DD enjoying her stay or is she antsy for home? I would be the latter by now for sure lol. I think a mix of both. She has a return date now so it's no longer as open ended. DS flew back to the States today and will be taking the train down to us mid-week and will stay through Thanksgiving and then he, DD24, and their cats will head home. I'm so glad the work week is over, whew! I'm going to join with mom's crop this morning for most of the morning, pick up groceries later and then join again in the afternoon is she ends up doing that. Alex looks so grownup in his school photo! Love the layering behind the photo mat! Sorry to flood the thread but I had a productive afternoon on mom 's December Prep crop and managed to fill in all the gaps in December 2012

a couple more layouts - Nov 2012 pics I'm tired today. DS called at 1am and talked for over an hour and then DH got up at 7 to get ready to leave for his business trip and less than 5 hours just isn't really enough sleep. Still planning on hopping on the afternoon crop - debating whether to work on November 2012 or switch back to Christmas and work on Dec 2014?

Busy week ahead of me. Planning to do a little cookie making tomorrow. I am driving my sister in law to the city Tuesday morning for a two day set of appointments. While there, I need to take my dh's iPad in for a factory reset at the Apple store, pick up some card kits I ordered from a LSS there for our card making on Saturday, and do some Christmas shopping. I have specific stores to go to to pick up specific items &/or gc's. Dsil loves to shop, so I don't think she will mind a side trip to West Edmonton Mall. Thursday I will finish my shopping binge in the small city more close to home. Again, I have a list. I also intend to print photos while I am there. In the evening, our book club is gathering at justjac 's. That will leave me Friday to do some housework and prep for our card making marathon on Saturday. Whew!

That does sound like a busy week ahead for you grammadeeBusy here too but mostly at home - deepcleaning the house Mon-Wed while DH is out of town and then we'll pick up DS from the train station on Thurs morning. He'll stay through Thanksgiving and then drive home on the 30th with DD24 and their two cats. Hoping to squeeze some baking in as well and maybe some scrapping as well but...we'll see Dh left this morning for a business trip. DD18 returned this afternoon from her orienteering campout.

Happy Monday Pokeys! I feel a little disconnected this month - my work/home schedule is out of whack and I find I'm not popping onto the boards at "normal" times and don't post. We have some art on our walls! Finally got enough painting done here, made decisions (trying not to overthink) and got out the hammer. I thought we had too much art...turns out we need more. I watch local auctions (estate or art) to find "affordable" art - currently have a winning bid on this one: picture by kirstendrew, on Flickr grammadee - I'm in the awkward shift from scrapping to Christmas project work - cards, journal your christmas and my MIL's calendar all need to be started, so that means putting away my Florida album. It makes me sad, but I can't have both sets of supplies out, and I don't have time for it all. What are you doing about mailing cards with Canada Post on strike? I thought I might make a shopping trip to Buffalo or Detroit in early December, and mail US peas their cards from there!!! But you and justjac might not get yours until the new year I too have been making cookies - I think it's the cooler weather. A batch (about 4 dozen?) lasts 2-3 days at best. I don't start Christmas baking until December because I'm not organized enough to bake ahead and freeze. Are you family big butter tart fans? We are (except DH) but no raisins. the strike doesn't actually affect us because DH is currently on a leave from work - Canada Post decided that his shift was no longer 5-11am, but instead he should work 2-8, or 3-9...as in AM. We've *always* firmly stuck to our "no night shift" policy in our family as it's too disruptive to our family vibe which we cherish. So instead of just quitting, he took a leave to give him time to watch for another posting. Nothing has come up yet (mainly due to the contract negotiations) and we don't know how it will end. After over 12 years with the company, it would be nice to keep going, but we won't sacrifice for a night shift. Linda - I'm so happy for you getting your full-family Thanksgiving! DS's return is perfectly timed. It makes up for last year's plans falling apart! Good luck with the cleaning and hope to see you today or tomorrow on the crop. I have chores this morning then plan to be on for a bit. nylene - Your Alex looks so grown up (especially when I think of your graduating DGS with his baby face!) I think glasses do that too - people always took me as older than I was, but then I was tall as well. Alex looks tall? joyfulnana - come be my next door neighbour please. Can you imagine our crafty play time? I think what's hard is that I might have someone on this street who would be a good craft buddy but it's like when we started our online crops: we weren't sure if we were actually gonna like the people we met. At least online, you can approach gradually and if it's not a good fit you just don't continue. If you invite someone in person and then don't like them...it's awkward. And if they don't get the message, you can get stuck! justjac - we put our winter tires on this week: although we're still at about 8 degrees during the day there are snow-flakes on the weather app for the weeks ahead. Did you get lots done this weekend? kellyr21 - did you get lots of art time this past week? Do you have a room as a studio at home? Gonna drag DH off to Costco and to pick up an industrial shelving unit and a weight-bench I bought on an auction site. Got both (they're new) for about 25% of what the retail cost would be, and since we're starting to build our home-gym area the weight bench was a good find. Then I hope to pop on and crop with Mom this afternoon.

Great to hear from you, kitbop. Hoping the postal strike ends soon and that something opens up for your dh when it does. I have not started signing or addressing cards yet, but when they are ready to go I will wait for Post Office to open and then take them all in--no matter when they get to their recipients. I arranged yesterday for a friend to deliver gifts to the Calgary area when she goes down there for Christmas. Others I will send via courier if there is no Canada Post option. Have fun on line today, kitbop and Linda. Will you be joining in this week, nylene? cycworker, did you get to join any of the crops on the weekend? Will you be playing on line this week? I plan to do some baking today. Dh likes baking day--especially while I am still getting used to this new stove--b/c he gets the "culls". I choose the nicest looking ones to freeze for holiday giving and serving. He gets the culls: ones whose corners have broken off, or who have wonky shapes, or are a bit overcooked. nylene I love that you have been creating pages. That young man looks SO GROWN UP! What happened to that ginger imp? Not creating anything with paper today, or probably until Saturday. But I hope to get to the Gallery and the Sharing Thread to leave some love. Was thinking I might also make a start on calculating some November points. Glad you will have everyone home for Thanksgiving, Linda. How are the rest of our US Pokeys planning to spend the holiday? I really love that our Thanksgiving and Christmas are separated by 2 1/2 months, rather than just a few weeks. I am not yet nearly ready for all the festivities. But I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

My weekend wasn't as productive as I thought. It was more a hang out event than classes except I did learn how to make a cute 8 page "zine" notebook out of one page of copy paper. I'll post a couple pictures when I get home. I also learned some gel plate techniques, but since I don't have a sink on the same floor as my scrapbooking using my gel plate involves hauling a bunch of stuff to the main floor and putting a table up in the middle of the living room, so I don't do it very often. I made a couple cards and a Book of Me layout and 2 daily pages for my December commitments to the ALP editorial team. nylene my hair isn't much shorter. She took off 1-1.5" and shaped up my layers. grammadee I haven't done any baking and given my blood sugar issues, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I will make peanut brittle because it's our family tradition. I will make a pretzel M&M bark that my brother-in-law loves. I might experiment with some no sugar baking. We'll see. kitbop I'm in denial about Canada Post. I will get my cards ready to go and when they can be mailed, I will mail them. Linda I will be doing some cleaning, too. With bookclub at my house the kitchen/livingroom/bathroom need to be company ready by Thursday. I also need to actually read the book!

DD24 hung some stuff on the walls for me. Hoping that with DS's help once he arrives, I can knock some other things off DH's to-do list (DS already volunteered to help).

You all sound so busy and industrious! I don't do a lot of baking for Christmas. I will make DH's favorite fruit cakes but he goes through them so fast that I won't start until Dec. They are supposed to "age" for 2 weeks, but they hardly last that long. I make chex mix and muddy buddies and usually one kind of cookie. That's really all we need. My therapist carefully checked my strength in my shoulder and was very pleased. He wants me to just continue using it as much a possible until we get the clearance for strengthening from the Dr. I can actually reach up and turn off a light! Haven't been able to do that since Feb. Still can't reach up to the turn signal while driving, but driving is getting easier. kitbop, I hope you win your art piece. Where do you plan to hang it. grammadee, How do you keep up with everything? How was the consult with the stair-lift company? I'll bet your house smells wonderful. Hope you get everything done that is on your lists. Linda, so glad DH is safely back in the States and you will have a full family Thanksgiving. We can a text from Tori last night that there was a mix-up in communication and all her married kids are going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving. That means no Eddie, Hailey or Myles attending. Em's grandbaby Millie will be there, but we were expecting about 40 people and it's down to about 20. justjac, I didn't notice your new haircut when you were online, was it cut then? It's always nice to have a fresh cut. What's on your nails this month? Have fun with grammadee and your other IRL friends. joyfulnana, it was fun seeing you online and fun seeing Bess. I'm glad you got some scrapping in this weekend. gramma, how are you doing? Have you made any new Christmas cards? Thinking of you! kellyr21, what are your Thanksgiving plans? Angie's DSIL will be visiting CA and have Thanksgiving with them. Usually it's just her little family. I hope the Canada Post strike gets settled so that cards and gifts get through as planned.

Linda, I am in awe of all the pages you have finished. I love the pages with lots of photos. I need to use those as templates for all the Pool party photos I have. Congrats to your DH on the Dist. Award of Merit. I used to be in charge of all the scouting awards (except Silver Beaver) while working with our district and council. That's a great award for a lot of work! I enjoyed reading the journaling on each layout. I love all the things you remember to take photos of. I need to get better at that. Thank you so much for sharing on this thread!
